Letter-meme

I got dragged into a meme. Ho boy... I haven't done anything like these in an age and a half. Here goes...

So for this you're supposed to answer these question with words using a certain letter. And I got the letter W from [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip.

....

W.

WFT? Do you guys know how RARE W is in swedish and how bad I am at finding words for that one? Crap. OK. Here goes.

Something I hate: Oh gawd... I don't know.... W... W... W... WAR! Well, of course. Anyone with half a brain hates war. Or so I hope...

Something I love: Work, actually. That one was easy. I do like my work as a school-librarian despite the crazy ass kids. I thrive in chaos, apparently.

Somewhere I've been: West Point. Yes, that school. I was invited to a trip by my host-family to see the ArmyVSNavy football game when I was working as an aupair in the US. Was... quite interesting, to say the least. At least the buildings is down right breath-taking....

Somewhere I'd like to go: I have no idea. I'm sure there's a city starting with W in Australia, in Japan and in the US (Washington DC...), because I'd love to visit all three of them countries.

Someone I know: I can not think of anyone I know very well starting with W. I do have a few people on my f-list though, but we don't talk overly much anymore. If you are into the Buffy-fandom though and like Spike, I do suggest checking out the works of [livejournal.com profile] whichclothes.

A film I like: Walk the line was a movie I did enjoy quite a great deal, to my surprise. Didn't know much about Johnny Cash before watching it. And then there's Wreck it Ralph for the nerd in us (didn't think about that one right away since it's called Röjar-Ralf in swedish...). World of Warcraft hasn't started in the theaters yet, not until June 2016. I can not WAIT to see it though!

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD THIS WAS?!?!? Geezes... I now downright dislike W. :-P

If anyone else dares wants to play, let me know and I'll give you a letter.

Really getting into this... + PIMPING!!!

Wow... I am really getting back into this LJ-thing, aren't I? It just feels really damn GOOD! :-D Like I'm coming home. Which, you know... It basically is. *checks* My first entry was posted in December of 2003. Damn... o.O Could say I've spent a significant part of my time here.

Work has been good today. REALLY lazy, so I got in some fanfic reading in the midst of it. :-) Well, not 'normal' fanfic reading. I did, what I call it, my 'commenting-thing'. Where I read through a fanfic before it's finished or made official and see what makes sense and what makes no sense etc. Can't be a proper beta, because well... swedish. Plus I suck at grammar in my own language, so having me as a proper beta would just be a disaster waiting to happen. *LOL* Apparently this 'commenting-thing' is popular, since I have done it for three writers. Currently "only" doing it for two. :-) It's A LOT of fun though, or I wouldn't be doing it.

Had some really cute encounters with kids/teens at the school today. :-) I mean, I know this is one (of two) of the most troublesome schools in the city, but that doesn't mean that ALL kids are hooligans. There's some seriously AWESOME kids in this school, from ALL OVER the world. And that is pretty neat. And the best part of this job, to be quite honest. I learn SO MUCH! Also, both headmasters are very pleased with what I've done so far. And rumors has it that my predecessor/previous eccentric colleague won't be coming back. Which means, this library will be mine. *SQUEEE!!!* :-D

Future is looking fucking bright, if you ask me. ;-)

And to finish this post off, as I do from time to time, I'll share stuff I've found online.

First off I give you this. From this Christmas somewhere in the US. I'm always amazed at how much time US-people spend on the light on their houses. This was pretty cool though, and I know my kid would have peed herself with joy over this, the fangirl that she is. :-D

Frozen lights blinking in time with Let It Go...

This I found hilarious. I live in a straight relationship as it were, so couldn't even imagine. How on earth can people actually say this? It's just... nuts.

Things people ask gay dads... )

On a bit more somber note, this is both disturbing and interesting all in the same time. Because really, only women is beaten, right? Wrong...

Domestic abuse advert Mankind )

This on the other hand made me laugh. All big hearty belly laugh, as it were. :-D And perfect for International Woman's Day!

Revealing dress -lady and old almost dead -lady on the tram... )

Talking off International Woman's day... I give you some kick ass strong women in comics. And I ain't talking super hero comics. I'm talking Elfquest, best comic ever made. And this article tells you just why you should read it... if nothing else for the awesomeness that is the female characters in said comic.

To hunt, to howl, to live free - Heather Johannsen on the powerful women of Elfquest

And... Now I need to go to bed. New day to strangel hooligan kids tomorrow. ;-)

Oh! And lastly, those coming over from 'that meme'... WELCOME! I'll do an about my post tomorrow! PROMISE! :-D Glad to have you here!

One hell of a sharing post!

Yeah, it's time for one of them sharing posts again... :-) Next post is going to be about Midsummer. ;-) And after that I have some serious issues I need to get down in words. But first! Strap in and lets go!

As you might remember I visited the swedish festival Sweden Rock! And it was amazing. I went there to see Mötley Crüe. And even though they got really bad criticism for their performance, I really liked it. It was amazing!

Girls, Girls, Girls... )

Home )

Sorry about the quality. I just wanted to share that to me was an AMAZING night! I know they aren’t perfect, but they’re good at catching the audience, and it was amazing to see them live, it really was.

And onwards!

Not that long ago, I discovered this, which I found really interesting. You’re short on money? You need a computer? I give you Chip, a computer you can get for 9$. I admit, I’m curious. It’s not that much money, so maybe I should get one? To have as backup? I bet [livejournal.com profile] peting73, who is a serious computer geek, would find it really cool to have and poke around with as well. Decisions decisions…

Chip 9$ Computer - Kickstarter

They’ve reached their goal and some, so it’s ready and available to order… *considers*

Next subject!

I kinda love [livejournal.com profile] steinsgrrl for sharing this with me. I keep reading all the comments and stories shared on this Reddit page, and it’s SO FREEING, my female friends! My vagina is not abnormal or strange in anyway! There are vaginas that are stranger than mine! NOTHING IS ABNORMAL! X-D Also, guys. You should read this. Just to see what we’re going through on an everyday basis. ;-)

Reddit: Girls and their vaginas

YouTube is a strange and wonderful place… You dip your toe in and you never know where you end up. Here’s some various stuff I’ve found on YouTube or that are connected to YouTube in one way or another.

This short just about broke my heart. The ending especially when you REALLY get what the little short is about… Bring your tissues, folks!

Gift... )

There’s a swedish guy from refugee parents who live in Sweden and he’s… blunt would be to kind a word. But he has some really interesting views on Sweden and our culture, our politics, our social safety net, our immigrants and refugees… Pretty much hot the climate is in Sweden (and I’m not talking about the weather). Not all his vids are in swedish, although most are. Those that are, like this one, has subtitles. And I’ve checked, their good and has the correct translation.

Islam and Pedofilia... )

Here’s an article with an added trailer on YouTube about how it is to come out of the closet as a MtF transgender when you’re quite young. This girl did so on YouTube and found a supportive community there. And a movie-maker saw her and she got a role in a movie that tells the story how it is to be a transgender MtF girl. Of course there’s more to it than that, it’s a good article, but it ends with a role in a movie for her. The trailer is in the article, and I will admit I am very curious at the movie, Boy Meets Girl! It looks really good!

Boy Meets Girl - Movie and the story

Right and change of subject again! You still with me? You’re doing good! *lol*

If you read my posts you know I absolutly HATE Fifty Shades of Grey. I hate Twilight to, but that’s nothing compared to how much I hate Fifty Shades of Grey. And I’ve READ THEM! ALL THREE!!!

Anyway, here’s some articles and vids that I hope will make you think twice about reading them…

Unless you’ve lived under a rock, you’d know there’s abuse in these books.

Here’s an article that, like so many others, points out where and how the abuse shows itself in the books:

There Are NO Grey Areas When Defending Abuse

And yes, she’s rewriting her books from Grey’s perspective… yeah… *cough* Here’s The Guardian’s reaction to that:

Fifty Shades of 'nope': we don't need a reboot from the man's perspective

Now to two vids. It’s both terrifying and interesting to see these. The movie comes with it’s own set of concerns and weirdness. Everything wrong, obviously shows everything wrong with 50 Shades. Abuse and all.

But what I really liked was the Film Theory. Where they compare Christian Grey to the leader of a cult. How Grey follows the same steps pretty much. Now that was terrifying. And girls WANT a man like this? WTF?

Everything Wrong With Fifty Shades Of Grey In 18 Minutes Or Less... )

Film Theory: Fifty Shades of Grey Cult Theory... )

And to end this LOOOONG post, let’s have some feel good after that, yeah?

These two vids I am watching when I need a pick me up after a long or bad day. :-) They never fail to make me smile! I hope they will do the same to you.

Old Men Grooving... )

Britians got talent just never fail to deliver. *grins* There’s more vids with these old guys, btw. They made it all the way to the finals!

Old men grooving on YouTube

And lastly I stumbled on THIS article about a son that made a special personal ad for his mom… REALLY special!

Looking for Adam... )

And that’s it! Having finished that (finally!), I will now go do something useful... ;-)

A sharing post and stuff... Discussing, sharing and just being.

Time to share some stuff again. Also, I've discovered that the questions that LJ has on their home-page. I've... never really thought about it before, but some of my LJ-friends have started to answer them, so... Well. Inspired. And why not? Especially the teddybear question sure inspired me and brought back a lot of sweet memories.

Other things that inspire is all the stuff my friends online share with me here and there. For serious. So much fun stuff! And then I save it in an open tab, forget it's there and forget to share it and suddenly I have a shitload of tabs open which makes my chrome a bit slow... Time to do something about that!

First some Tokio Hotel! Bare with me!

This is amazing. I mean, seriously! I would have loved to watch Feel It All Tour just for this! My favorite boys drumming away!

Gustav, Georg and Tom on drums during Louder Than Love in Paris!!! )

Tokio Hotel and not, this guy is absolutely amazing! Mind blowing skill! No matter if you like Tokio Hotel or not you have to give this guy cred for his skill!

Love who loves you back (Cover, A Cappella) )

And talking about music-videos, there's this. What with a kid of my own, I can just PRAY that I manage to raise her to be as open-minded as it's even possible. And vids like this? My heart just clench for the kid in this music-video...

The Light by HollySiz )

This video is absolutely amazing. I see so many cool pole dancers online. It's not just dirty and kinky, it can be quite awesome to! And this video shows a bunch of women who tells us why THEY do pole dancing. Empowering... Show strength... So many reasons. I loved this video.

Why I dance... )

As you probably are beyond aware of I hate 50 shades of Grey. I mean, I seriously hate that series of books. I do, however, love seeing things that mook them.

And this is one of those brilliant things mocking 50 shades of Grey. Pornstars. Telling you why 50 shades suck. And not in a good way. And why you should watch real porn instead. Absolutely brilliant. And hilarious at the same time. Who said pornstars didn't have a sense of humor. *lol*

5 reasons pornstars hate 50 shades of Grey )

This one is also quite awesome! A makeup tutorial for a 50 shades of Grey makeup. And, I have to say. The makeup looks quite nice. But what makes this whole tutorial is the narrating from the makeup artist. Absolutely brilliant! So cool makeup and a wonderful narration. Win-win!

50 shades of Grey makeup tutorial )

And now for something totally different. I know, since Peting told me that in Metal Gear Solid when playing that role playing game, you could have any kind of romantic relationships. Gay or straight. Which I found pretty cool. And then I stumbled upon this article about Dragon Age Inquisition. Apparently there's a transgender character in that game. Not playable, but still. He has a big role. And he... is a female to male transgender. Right, I thought. But then I looked at the clip in this article, and I have to admit. That seems to be a pretty cool character. To bad he isn't playable. He does have a decent fanbase though. I'm not surprised. ;-)

Read the article! And watch the clip! It's pretty cool!

Dragon Age Inquisition's Trans Character

Lastly I leave this. And this will have you crack up something fierce! You all know Helen Mirren, right? That is one FIERCE lady! SO AWESOME! I'm a huge fan. I love her so much! And the best part? Even though she is pretty much a Shakespearean actress with some serious roles behind her and being one of the big names in the industry... She is not afraid to make fun of herself. And that is EXACTLY what she is doing here with a huge smile on her face! I LOVED THIS! AND CAN NOT STOP LOOKING AT IT!!!

And now, over and out!

Kicking my own ass - Life - Interesting vids...

I am doing what I keep telling others not to. I am not posting because I don't feel like anyone would find it interesting.

*head-desk*

WTH? This is MY journal. I should post no matter what. If it is interesting to me or to anyone else. To write down my thoughts does have a tendency to clear them up. I keep returning. I keep poking at this place. Because it's just... home. If you've posted/written/journaled/blogged at the same place for 11 ½ years, it does end up home, wether you like it or not.

I'll just be writing for me sake. Sharing for my sake. And if anyone else happens to like it, than cool. :-)

So on that note... I got rid of my cast this Friday! :-D YAY!!! Six weeks of me jumping around on one leg (with support) is now OVER!!! I can walk on the leg, although I still have to use regular crutches to take some weight off the leg still. It's stiff as all hell! Geezes... I have exercises that I should do every day which are dull but I can feel they are doing a difference. So dull, but good for me. Isn't that always the case with these things? *lol*

At least now I am more mobile and can move around. :-)

My brother with his kids and my mom came over this Saturday, which was AWESOMELY fun! (And they cooked food for us for some reason...) I love my brother to bits, and when a guy like him (6.2 feet tall!) takes a seat IN YOUR LAP!!! Now that's sibling-love to a whole new level! Also, his ass is bony. Someone needs to feed him. X-D

We had a wonderful time though! And Alexandra got to get out and play with her cousins at a playground which was fun by all, while I stayed at home with my bad leg and fixed coffee for the adults to drink when they got back. :-)

Then today, Sunday, we cleaned the apartment. Weekly cleaning. AND I COULD HELP!!! Yes, you worry-wards. I listened to my body and didn't do to much. :-) Promise! It's funny though how happy you can be from managing to clean the bathroom. X-D It's the easiest room to clean in this apartment, so I felt I would be abel to do that to take some load of [livejournal.com profile] peting73. And it worked FINE! :-D So now I can add that to my list of chores until I'm fully recovered. :-)

I am planning on being able to get out of the house on Saturday though. (With crutches!) To say shit has hit the fan... SERIOUSLY! at the vampire-LARP I am in would be an understatement. And not only for my character, but for ALL characters!!! Well, I really Really REALLY wanna go on Saturday! So I am doing my exercises stubbornly every day! And I know there's an elevator where we have our society local, so at least I don't have to hobble up four stories... :-) I have to wonder what our GM's have smoked though... X-D I love all them people, seriously....

To end it, have some pimping of random stuff I've come across online lately. :-)

I found THIS video very VERY interesting! Especially since I wrote my masters thesis on comics. This is about cartoons. In fact, about cartoons that are very very racist. For the simple reason they were made during such an era. It is very interesting and I do really like the way the two guys in the video discuss this. I would have loved to talk to these two guys while writing my thesis to be honest. It could have been interesting. *geeks out*

Old Cartoons Were RACIST! )

And while we're on the subject of cartoons, I've started following this cool girl Laci Green on Twitter. She's a YouTuber of some fame apparently, and is doing a YouTube show for MTV. It's all about sex-positivity, gender-positivity and just... positivity all around. :-) I have yet to see a vid by her I didn't enjoy. Here she takes up gender stereotypes in Disney movies. But not the female stereotypes, interestingly enough. But the MALE stereotypes! I really enjoyed that, I have to say! And it's not a 'not all men'-thing and hurt-men-complain-thing. No, no, no... This is a feminist girl looking at stereotypes in a new way, and I do like that. :-)

How Disney Stereotypes Hurt Men )

And now I'll destroy the swedish reputation a bit... X-D I don't remember who sent this to me, but I am now a fan of the YouTube channel Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time. These guys are NUTS! X-D And, sad to say... very swedish. *laughs ass off* They speak in swedish (mostly) but there's subtitles and they don't speak that much so it's easy to follow if you don't speak swedish. I keep laughing my way through these, SERIOUSLY!!!

Chop Chop Carnage Stew (Alternative Pyttipanna) )

Also, I happen to like Pyttipanna. A lot. ;-D

And it seems like Netflix is coming up with a very intersting TV-show. Especially if you're a Marvel-fan. A new take on Daredevil. Now, I really like the comic-character, but I feel they butchered the character in the movie. This, however... looks very very interesting. Going back to what the comic is REALLY about.

A pimp/spam post about 50 Shades of Grey... Trigger warning for discussions and hints about abuse!

Figured it was time for another pimp-post or whatever you wanna call them. There's just to many fun stuff to look at online, and then I feel the urge to share it. Sure, I retweet or replurk as well, but to collect it in one big post just appeals to me. Bear with me.

Lately, since it's had it's opening (on Valentines Day, wth?) I've seen a lot of stuff and read a lot of stuff about 50 Shades of Grey, the infamous Twilight fanfic... (in case you didn't know it was a Twilight fanfic...)

And OK, I admit. I read the first book. And yes, I do enjoy some BDSM in the bedroom. So hence it made me curious. But what I read? That was NOT BDSM! Oh HELL to the no! That was abuse. Plain and simple. :-/

So ever since I've been following the twitter account @50shadesabuse. Mostly I jus feel sorry for those who have gone through emotional abuse and is meet with this fail-tastic book that makes their experience into romance... *shakes head*

Prepare for shitload of links about 50 Shades of Grey Fail Abuse.... :-P

This is a short and to the point piece from The Independent UK which... I like because it IS to the point AND has actually lines from the book in the text/graphics. And no, they aren't made up. They ARE from the book.

Fifty Shades of Grey: It doesn't take a genius to realise that Christian Grey is a domestic abuser

This was absolutly brilliant. Because like it or not, 50 Shades of Grey does have fans. A shitload of them. And they are defending book and movie. It's easy to let the blood run hot in such a discussion, especialy if you or a close one to you have experienced mental abuse. So this is a brilliant piece to go to for advice on HOW to take the discussion with them fans. Calmly. Rational. And showing the flaw in their logic.

Let’s talk about 50 Shades in a calm and rational way

And this? This was also interesting. I'd like to know how many you got right if you haven't read the books... I think that would be quite interesting to know. ;-) Care to share?

Can You Tell The Difference Between Christian Grey And A Serial Killer?

And this? This just disturbed me. I mean, seriously? WTH? If you run into a guy like this... RUUUUN!!! Geezes... The poor girl in the interview both disturbed me and made me so achingly sad for her... :-/

Real-Life Christian Grey Claims To Have 'Converted' 350 Women To BDSM

This is one of the best reviews I've read. Because the reviewer walked into the movie theaters knowing NOTHING about 50 Shades of Grey, and the shock after watching it is so so so obvious in her review. And people think this is romance... WTH?

Rosie Reviews: Fifty Shades of Grey - Rosie Waterland expected the whole movie to be a bit of a cheesy laugh. Instead she walked out of the cinema on the verge of tears.

This is a professional morning show host giving a review of 50 Shades of Grey, and... she isn't holding back, put it that way. DAMN she's mean! X-D I kinda love it! And she brings up valid points to. :-)

Lisa Wilkinson names Fifty Shades of Grey worst movie I've ever seen  )

These are so so so hilarious! Sometimes you can find true gold on Imgur. X-D And the even more hilarious thing is that the flaws pointed out in these reviews, and highlighted in an image... are things that ACTUALLY happen in the books! Oh, good lord... X-D

1 star reviews of 50 Shades of Grey on

One might think what with the movie coming up that the actors would be all over the place playing it up to promote the movie, right? Right? Nooooo!!! X-D OH SO WRONG! I guess they're trying, but they just look uncomfortable together! And as rumors go, apparently they had to reshoot the sex-scenes since they were far from hot. HA HA HA HA!!! X-D I should feel sorry for them, I really should... But they signed up for it. :-D

50 Shades of [Sigh]: The Disastrous 50 Shades of Grey Press Tour

This is a really good piece by the people behind the mentioned twitter account. They list various reasons why the books can be dagnerous and also what Christian does in the books. What makes him an abusive man and why is it dangerous to make that look romantic.

The powerful effect fiction can have on reality

This piece is really interesting because it looks at the interactions between Ana and Christian in 50 Shades through the law. Legally, who should be in the handcuffs? Really?

The site Rape Crisis also makes a post talking about the dangersou with 50 Shades of Grey should tell you lot something. And it's a really good piece to, going through the whole books. It's really eyeopening.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" Saviour of relationships or abusers handbook?

Yet another piece discussing how dangerous men like Christian Grey is. The amount of articles, blogg posts, protests at screenings should tell you something. So yeah, it's important to spread this I feel.

Also, whoever did this, THANK YOU SO MUCH for ruining my childhood! FUCK! Even Frozen who I have to watch several times a week what with Alexandra loving it. GAWD DAMMIT!

50 Shades of Disney . . . OMG

TLDR, if you don't wanna check all the above, than at least check out this vid:

This vid, one of my favorites I've seen actually, combines the brilliant speech that the US President, Barak Obama, held aginst abuse towards women. It combines his speech with cuts from the movie... that interestingly enough fits so very very well with the speech... while trying to make it look hot. URGH! But yeah, if you don't have the energy to check ANY other link, than this is it. Really.

Obama & Fifty Shades of Grey )

And now I will shut up about the subject. At least for a long time ahead. Unless you follow me on Twitter, that is... :-P

Family filled with bad luck? - Movie! - Books!

So... the 23e of January I broke my leg... A week later, my mom fell over and scratched up her whole face. Going on a check up, she found out that her bad knee? Had a crack in the kneecap. Fuck. No cast needed, but she needs a protective knee pad thingy to make sure her kneecap stays put. And guess what? The week after that my brother... got ran over by a cow (well, a heifer) and twisted his knee... so one of those knee pad thingies for him to, but he only had to use it for about a week or so.

WTH? o.O

And that's not all!

Mom came over last weekend to hang out and help us out a bit. As long as she's taking it easy and moving around slow, her knee is fine, so that's good. Anyway. Guess what happened then? She dropped her phone in the toilette! X-D No joke! We didn't find it there until about an hour after she'd noticed it was gone. And that's just because I needed to use the bathroom.

Geezes. Enough is enough universe! Give us a break!

At this point all there is is to laugh about it all, to be honest.

I watched an amazing movie the other day. Desert Flower. I pretty much broke down. It's about the life of Waris Dirie and her life from being a little girl in the Somali dessert to a model and to a spokeswoman against female genital mutilation. To say I broke down during that movie, despite the fun parts, would be an understatement. It was done to her when she was 3 years old.... Just 3. About the age as Alexandra....

To say Alexandra got plenty cuddles that night would be an understatement.

Desert Flower Trailer... )

Watch it. I think it's an important movie. I've put a hold on the book at the closest library (where I'm supposed to be working if it hadn't been for my broken leg...). It's next to Alexandras daycare, so I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] peting73 will pick it up for me.

[livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit, my best friend, came by said hi and helped me clean a bit as well not to long ago. She dropped off the book Temeraire av Naomi Novik. In english. ;-) So there's that. And I'm reading the book Toddler Taming as well. Because, damn. I have a toddler now. o.O At least Alexandra is a moderately calm toddler. :-)

Now I'm going to hobble with my walking support (looking like this) to go eat and watch some Supernatural and read a bit. Working on a link/pimp post as well. Gonna be a lot of 50 Shades of GreyFail in that. ;-)

Laters!

Big ass sharing post!

I've collected so many things that I've wanted to share, that it’s a bit insane. So now I am going to! I’m sure there’ll be something for everyone that might be of interest in this… Serious, funny, cute, sad or just interesting. :-)

First up is both a sad and cute one. We all loved Jim Henson, right? Apparently the artists at Disney did to, because when Jim Henson died, this was the condolence card sent to the company… So sweet and cute and sad…

There there... )

You've all heard about 50 Shades of Grey, right? Well, so have I. And I've read the first book, even if it was a very difficult struggle. Because even though it is written like a love story, it is so very very clearly not. All the things that are written as romantic traits in Christian Grey are abusive traits. And I can not understand why someone would write it like that. Anyway, here’s one of the best articles I've found as of yet on the subject abuse in 50 Shades of Grey. Might be a little bit triggering.

Fifty Shades of F**king Abuse

You think that’s it? Oh no… No, no, no… The internet is abuzz with 50 Shades of Grey pros and cons. (I hate it, but I guess you've figured that out by now.) And this… THIS is really REALLY interesting. Especially if you’re involved with fandoms and fanfic reading and/or writing. How 50 Shades became so popular and where it comes from… and how the Twilight fandom works. I wasn't privy to all that is written in this post, I'll be honest to say. It’s originally from Reddit, and the original link is in this post, but this was just a neat way to read it to me who is not a Reddit fan. :-)

Fifty Shades of Grey: The Reddit Origins Essay

Now for something nicer. :-) Like some art. Art is soothing, right? And sometimes you stumble upon an artist that is so good you get a headache. *LOL* This artist is amazing, and I beg you to go check out her gallery, since you’ll have your jaw at the floor in no time. Geezes christ the detail this woman draws…

Midnight Ramblings - …the sketches & scribblings of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law…

I follow her on Instagram as well, and man... Her progress-photos makes me weep.

If you’re swedish or know the language, I do sugest you check out this interview. :-) It’s one of my sweet friends, Owlfoot, that is interviewed in swedish television since she don’t want kids and had a Sterilization done when she was 28. It’s a great interview, and I must say I am proud to have such tough intelligent and wise friends. :-)

Måste man ha barn i en lycklig relation?

And this? This is kinda cute with an important message… :-)

Human Rights - The Harry Potter version )

Talking of Harry Potter, my friend [Bad username or site: ”snowstormskies” @ livejournal.com] gave me a new view of the character Dumbledore, who I usually like. Very interesting.

Dumbledore is not a nice guy

And then there’s this. And this seriously cracked me up! X-D Men, at least you don’t have it as bad as the male honeybee! *lol* Sometimes I think Mother Nature does these things just to fuck around with us…

The male honeybee...

If you don’t know who John Cleese is, then you fail at life. *lol* Seriously, this man and Monthy Python and the Flying Circus has influenced comedy SO MUCH! Whether you like them or not you have to give them credit for that. And now John Cleese has released a biography about his life called So Anyway… which I for one really look forward reading! It has been translated and may libraries have it in their collections now….… And in preparation of that John Cleese got interviewed. By Eddie Izzard. This is, in a word, brilliance! It is a LOVELY interview! Seriously! Go look!

Eddie Izzard interviews John Cleese about his comedy influences and more )

I don’t know much about Taylor Swift, I will admit. Her music is not what I usually listen to. But I will say this was very cool! It went, if not viral, then it sure made it’s rounds around Christmas. And I've rewatched it quite a few times. All the props to Taylor Swift for doing this. I don’t know many celebrities that would. To get a personalized gift from your idol? That… is pretty cool. :-)

Taylor Swift's Gift Giving of 2014 )

And here be some lovely lovely library porn. Give me a break. I’m a librarian. These tickle me like not much else. And I would love to go on a trip to explore various libraries in the world, just for the hell of it. I’m a silly sod, I know. :-D

House Of Books: The Most Majestically Beautiful Libraries Around The World Photographed By Franck Bohbot

Here’s a bit more modern a library, but damn.. It’s really cool still!

Modern gorgeous library... )

To end this post on a laugh! (A bit NSFW-laugh, but still…) Here’s an image that was shared on Plurk that seriously cracked me up. X-D

12 Things You should never Apologize For (even if you think you should)

[livejournal.com profile] sireesanwar posted this yesterday, and I think it was really really brilliant. So I wanted to share it to. It makes you think.

Often, we apologize because we worry too much about what other people think, or because we put their feelings above our own needs. There are many situations where an apology is unnecessary.

Here are 12 things you should never apologize for, even if you think you should.

1. You Should Never Apologize for Loving Someone
Celebrate the fact that you are able to love. There are many people in the world too scared to take a chance on love in the first place. It doesn’t matter who you love or if they love you back. The fact that you can love is what’s important.

2. You Should Never Apologize for Saying No
Respecting your own limitations is a sign of self respect. If you cannot give 100 percent to something you should never apologize for saying no. The ability to say no is a sign of a good leader.

3. You Should Never Apologize for Following a Dream
A life lived with regret is yours to miss. Never apologize for following a dream because that dream makes you who you are. You will never fulfill happiness unless you live your dreams instead of dreaming your life.

4. You Should Never Apologize for Taking “Me” Time
You will never be successful and fulfill your happiness unless you first take care of yourself. Always take care of your own needs and take “me time” to do things that make you happy.

5. You Should Never Apologize for Your Priorities
Never allow anyone to make you feel guilty over your priorities. Always take care of your own priorities first. If it’s important to you then it is important. The people who matter will respect your choice.

6. You Should Never Apologize for Ending a Toxic Relationship
You should never say that you are sorry for letting go of someone who hurts you. Understanding an unhealthy relationship holds you back from reaching your full potential is a huge step forward. Be proud and surround yourself with people who celebrate your courage.

7. You Should Never Apologize for Your Imperfections
Imperfections are what makes you beautiful and unique. They should be embraced. Never say you’re sorry for a quality that makes you imperfectly perfect.

8. You Should Never Apologize for Standing your Ground
Never say you are sorry for defending your values, morals, ethics, religious or spiritual beliefs. Leaders never apologize for doing what they feel is right.

9. You Should Never Apologize for Not Knowing the Answer
The constant quest for knowledge keeps our brains young. Never say you’re sorry when presented with an opportunity to learn. Being able to admit you do not know is a sign of strength and humility.

10. You Should Never Apologize for High Expectations
Never apologize for expecting the same of others as you expect of yourself. Having high expectations only means that you care enough about others to push them to be their best.

11. You Should Never Apologize for Someone Else
Everyone is responsible for their own actions and behavior. You do not need to apologize for something someone else did even if you feel their actions reflect upon you through association.

12. You Should Never Apologize for Telling the Truth
Strong people tell the truth. Never apologize for being strong. Even if the truth hurts, the benefits of honesty far outweigh the initial sting of the truth.

Be true to who you are and don’t worry about what other people think. Over apologizing or saying I’m sorry when it’s not necessary reduces self-esteem over time. Save “I’m sorry” for when you actually make a mistake.

A BIG sharing and pimping post!

Even if I'd planned to collect all vids at the bottom of this post, I'll actually start with one. The LiveJournal vid. I really like it, I gotta say. It brings up a lot of what I enjoy with LiveJournal and what might draw new users in. Will it help? I have NO idea. Only time will tell, I suppose. Meantime - Cute vid!

What is LiveJournal? )

Onwards with some links!

I found this little article really interesting. I like makeup quite a great deal, and I do lean towards the gothic look (but no black lipstift! HORROR!). And this article shows so clearly how different we are approched depending how we look and what makeup we wear. It was a very VERY interesting read!

I dressed as a goth, a party girl, and a manic pixie dream girl - Here's how my friends, partner, and OKCupid reacted

This is cute to the point one might need a kleenex... Especially if you have kids, no matter what age. I LOVE it though!

21 Photos That Depict True Modern Fatherhood

Currently creating a new LARP-character, since it's not clear if my current one is going to survive the current shit she ended up in. ;-) Anway, so I figured out a shopping list. A LARP-friend is going to sew a cancan skirt for me. And then I want the corset below and a pendant from the site below. It would ROCK! Good thing I get paid soon....

Pinstriped corset in plus-size from Orchard Corset

Natural Magics pendants

Now this Tumblr... I have in a tab at all times. Because it speaks the TRUTH my friends! THE TRUTH about librarian work!!!

Librarian Problems

If you haven't tried HabtiRPg yet, you seriously need to. Especially if like roleplaying games and computer games. Just saying.

HabitRPG

If you've ever been in a fandom you'll know EXACTLY what this woman is talking about. The fact that this horror-story takes place in the Twilight fandom with EL James and around the fanfic that later is published under the name... 50 Shades of Grey... It just makes A WHOLE lot better! Reading this I had a very wicked grin permantly plastered on my face.

To Much Wank to Name

You a comic-fan? You've read any Calvin & Hobbes comics? (Who hasn't?) Then you need to read this. No, I'm not kidding. You NEED to read this. Bring the tissues.

In the final minutes of his life, Calvin has one last talk with Hobbes

Keeping on the subject. If you're new here, you might not know it since I don't write that much about, but... I'm a DIEHARD Xena-fan, a Xenaite, and have been for YEARS! Add to that that I've been watching Disney-movies since I was a kid. So this really tickled me! :-D Ah yes, them baby blues...

Cool art Disney-style: Xena WarriorPrincess

More vids! This put a HUGE smile on my face! Talk about a party on that wedding! :-D

An EPIC SURPRISE: AN AMAZING Choreographed Wedding Dance )

And science trying to explain one of lives great mysteries...

There endth the sharing post for today... I'll get back on writing a 'proper' post shortly. ;-)

Come and get to know me! A random meme because why the hell not?

Name: Emma aka KSena
Birthday: 19th of July
Zodiac: Cancer

Hair: Wavy and it's past my shoulders now, finally! Odd swedish brownish colour that is neither dark nor light. I call it the rat-clolour
Eyes: Bluish with some green in them.
Height: 6 feet aka 1.80 meters
Body Type: Big? OK, stout or chubby.

Relationship Status: Been with the same one for 11 years, so stuck. :-) Not married, living in sin.
Religious Views: What does that even mean? Don't like religion at all. Atiest of sorts.
Political Views: What does that even matter?!?! No offense, but why does US people always put so much significance into what you religion you believe in or what politics you go for... *grumble* I consider myself supporting the Socialdemocratic Workers' Party of Sweden the most. There. Happy? *double-grumble*

Favourite Colour: Black, red, purple.
Favourite Flowers: Orchids.

Favourite Movie(s): So, so, so many. I did answer this in another meme I currently do. Gladiator, Braveheart, Robin Hood Prince of Theives, Pirates of the Carebbiean movies, Lord of the Rings movies, Harry Potter movies, Interview with a vampire, Hungergames... I could go on.

Favourite Song(s): Too many to mention

3 Random Facts about you:
1. Was badly bullied as a kid but has since got over it, apart from one thing. I feel paniced everytime I try to do any form of exercise.

2. Grew up way out on the countryside in a classic red swedish house. Very idyllic. But now, I would never ever wanna live like that again. I love my apartment in the city, thank you.

3. Got plenty of tattoos and piercings which the kids at school kinda like. :-) Especially the smaller ones.

Story behind your username:
Long story. I was elected to be a member of the Student Union Club The Sexmasters (no, got nothing to do with sex), and they thought it was funny to give me the nickname KSena. You always get a nickname given to you by the seniour members in the club. Anyway, where did they get the idea for KSena from then? Well, I am a diehard Xena-fan, a Xenaite. And KSena in swedish is pronouced the same way as Xena, so they thought that was fun. And there you go. Then I got myself a livejournal and wanted to use KSena as a username, but it was taken. So I threw in some extra letters making it kseenaa. And there you go!

1. Nickname(s): KSena, obviously. ;-)

2. Age: 37. Born 1977.

3. Location: Borås, Sweden.

4. Occupation: School-librarian.

5. Partner? Yes, [livejournal.com profile] peting73.

6. Kid(s): A daughter who had her second birthday beginning of August called Alexandra.

7. Brothers/Sisters: A brother four years younger than me.

8. Pets: Two black cats, Skuld and Verdandi.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
Stressed out at work. SO MUCH TO DO!!! And no energy to do them.
My daughter. Things happening every damn day.
Family, trying to find time to visit them since most of them live about 2 hours away from here.
I did mention my work stressing me out, right?

Damn my life is boring.

10. Parents: Mother - who is even more crazy then me. Father - died at age 47 13 or so years ago.

11. Who are some of your closest friends?: [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit, no contest. We got to know each other at school when we were both 13 and we're still the best of friends. She knows me better than I know myself sometimes! And then, of course, there's all my young friends at the Vampire-LARP Club that I love and adore.

12. What are some of the things you like most? My computer, my books, movies, LARP, cats, piercings, tattoos... I don't know what else to put.

13. A photo of yourself and anything else you want to say: I'm posting a photo shortly, don't have any available right here. Or you could go to my Instagram HERE. I'm sure there's a photo of me there somewhere and not only of my daughter...

Have a post filled with links!

Time flies, doesn't it? Before I go into all the stuff that I've kept myself busy with (SO DAMN BUSY AND SO MUCH FUN!!!), I'll share with you some cool links I've collected lately.

This just cracked me up and I've re-read it soooo many times! :-D Something all slash-writers should read to, maybe? *lol* Especially the part about lube. ;-)

5 reasons being a male porn star is less fun than it looks...

I love books (no surprise there). And I love cats. And man, I am fangirling Jackson Galaxy SO DAMN HARD! So on my wish-list this year? His two books. His new one:
Catification. And his previous one: Cat Daddy - What the worlds most incorrigible cat taught me about life, love and coming clean.

I should really put them on a wish-list somewhere...

Talking of wish-lists, I should show this to my best friend [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit! She rocks when it comes to sewing and would probably have no problems making this! Hey, I can almost understand the pattern! That would probably mena it's damn easy. And veyr very nice looking!

Infinity dress

Now for a bit more serious a link. I read this some time ago, and a sadly recognized myself a bit to well. :-/ It sucks to be the big girl sometimes, doesn't it? Or as the case is with the writer, the big guy.

Pounds of flesh: On being fat in public

And a bit more happier post about being fat! I love this blogger. She is really really cool, and tells it like it is. I love people like that, since I am so honest about everything myself. And now I got to see what she looks like properly to!

Fat Heffalump on the telly!

As you all probably know, I work as a librarian, and when I found this Tumblr, I laughed my ass off. BECAUSE IT IS ALL TRUE!!! X-D ALL OF IT! So read it and find out what that smiling librarian you talk to is REALLY thinking... ;-)

Librarian problems

Lastly, if you don't check Qwertee yet everyday you really really should...

Ranting about work a bit more.... But mostly sharing cool vids!

Them troublesome kids that we've had trouble with lately reached new heights of obnoxiousness today. :-/ Went so far they scared little kids that are in second grade, only 8 years old. That's just... not right. All the headmasters are involved now. Social services are involved, since it's near impossible to get in touch with parents and they apparently don't give a fuck. My colleague and I both tried to get them to behave, but it just did not work.

I am not proud to say it, but I did lose my cool today. I did. :-/ Had to leave the library for a min and went to a office/lunchroom that the teachers have right next door. And walked around taking a breather to relax. It helped TONS! And the teachers there did NOT blame me. They know these kids very well. The form-master of one of them was run ragged, poor woman. She was desperate, felt like she'd tried everything. *shakes head*

Time will tell what will happen with them three kids, I suppose. They're just in 7th grade, 13 years old.

Oh well. I wasn't supposed to rant about work, actually. Plan was to share some fun and interesting videos I've run across, so... Let's continue on with that. :-)

Anyone who knows me knows that I am... NOT a fan of Failbook, to put it mildly. *lol* So I found this very interesting to see. I wonder if those who actually use Failbook will find it interesting to?

The problem with Facebook )

Another thing you should know if you've been around for a bit is that I have a big hate for Twilight... and an even bigger hate for 50 Shades of Grey. I managed to read all three books of Twilight (in english no less), painful as it was, and then proceeded to join other haters to... well, rant about them. 50 Shades of Grey? I am having HUGE troubles even getting past the first book. If my best friend hadn't challenged me, I would have burnt the book a LONG time ago. :-/ Why? Well, this little book takes up ONE of the many reasons I am having trouble reading it.

50 Shades is Abuse )

Also, my GORGEOUS friend Owlfoot made a tribute to Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time (which is hilarious, btw, and you need to watch it despite them speaking swedish...). Owlfoot RULES though! X-D

Edsåsdalen Meal Time )

Yes, I have friends that are that gorgeous. Also, she's taken. ;-)

Onwards to some music! As you know, I do have a thing for Eminem. ;-) And one of his latest music-vids nearly had me in tears. He's dealt with his mom in various ways in his music before, but not like this. This... was beautiful. Very unexpected from him considering the past.

Headlights ft. Nate Ruess )

More music! Since I started reading and following body-positivity blogs, tweets and Instagrams, not to mention hashtags, I've read and seen so much awesome. Among many, this music-vid. Where three GORGEOUS plus-size models who did their own spin on Beyonce's song Flawless. And this is. Flawless.

#everyBODYisflawless )

Having six tattoos by this point, and considering a seventh... You could say I am hooked. *lol* And this is really REALLY cool to see how the skin reacts to the tattoo-needle... in slow motion... :-D The skill the tattoo-artist shows is AMAZING! Talk about steady hands!

Slowmotion Tattoo )

And lastly, let's all just melt at the cute. Teeny tiny kids having a taste of various foods for the first time. It's SO CUTE! :-D Alexandra has reacted much like it at times. Very much "What is this shit? Am I supposed to eat that? Ew, ew! Hell no!" *spits it out* So yeah, we can all need something cute sometimes, right? ;-)

First Taste )

Right! And now I'm going to bed. Let's hope for a calmer day tomorrow at the library. *has little hope*

Wait, what? ANOTHER job?!?!?!

OMG!

These two days have been INSANE! I am not even joking. o.O

I started my new job yesterday, which was fun and interesting. The need for a librarian at that place is HUGE! Not even joking. There's been this lady there that's not a librarian, and she's pretty much just made sure students can borrow books. Nothing more. That's not even half of what a school-librarian does!

The teachers are ecstatic that I'm there. The students are curious at me (librarian with tattoos and piercings, what? really?). And it's a nice place to be. Really. I think I could enjoy it there.

But.

Yesterday when I was going home, I got a call from a colleague of mine I used to work with. She is now head over all culture work in one part of the city. And they needed a librarian at another school. Full time until the end of December. She wanted me.

o.O * shocked *

Thing is, that offer is HUGELY better then the current one, let me tell you. At my current one, I am only guaranteed 4 hours a day. And they can only hire me a month at a time, and it'll probably end come summer. The other offer, I'll have a full time job until December. It's a no-brainer, really.

Still I feel shitty leaving the school I am currently at without a librarian. They haven't had a proper librarian for 3 years! THREE YEARS! That's NUTS! I am a bit at a shock as to why they haven't hired a librarian as a temporary replacement for the one that is ill in such a long time. Crazy, crazy...

We'll see what happens now I suppose. Going on an interview on Thursday for the better job, and after that? We'll see.

Keep your fingers crossed?

Linkdump Part 3: Body-positivity/Fat-activism

It's pretty amazing the things you find on the internet, isn't it? Especially when someone like me, who has fought to accept myself the way I look after years of bullying in school. Something I still to this day struggle with, even though I'm 36 years old now. I've gotten past much from my years as a bullied kid, but accepting the way I look? Harder. So much harder.

But then I stumbled upon this movement online... What FANTASTIC women!!! That's all I gota say about this... Just... Follow the links: Read, watch and enjoy these amazing women! Such attitude!!! :-D

Eating out where others can see you is never easy when you're being fat or heavy. I know this very very well. And these two posts describes this so very well it's bloody scary...

STOP! IT’S THE HOLIDAY SEASON FOOD POLICE!

Eating while fat

This was also a very interestingly written piece... WHY do we really wanna lose weight? To be happy? To fit in? Or why? It sure made me think a few times more...

The Fantasy Of Being Thin

Then there's those thin people who wants to help us poor fat people... Because we sure need help, right? But why do they wanna help us? Really? This also made me think.

You can not help those you loathe

Fat Heffalump is a pretty kickass fat lady, by the way. And I am so grateful to have found her. :-) Thanx [livejournal.com profile] snowstormskies for sending me the link to her blog. :-)

Fat Heffalump

Another interesting blogger is The Nearsighted Owl. Not only is she really cute and posts some awesome outfits of the day now and then... She is clever and fun to! And sports some ROCKING tattoos as well! :-D

The Nearsighted Owl

Then I got a link from an RP-friend of mine from New Zealand who follows this blog that has a really cool project. She's a fashionwriter and photographer, so this project... it's called Fat Girls Shouldn't Wear Stripes... And the girls she shoot picturs off are really REALLY cool! Not to mention the other posts she makes are usually fun and interesting as well. (If you like nailpolish, you should check it out for sure!)

Fat Girls Shouldn't Wear Stripes (About the project.)

This is Meagan Kerr

And then there's the sex... Because fat people can't have sex, right? Or enjoy it? And it's disgusting when fat people have sex, eh? Or it's used for comedy in movies... Fail. This was a fun, if NSFW! post on the subject. HOW can a fat girl have sex and actually enjoy her sexuality with a partner that enjoys her and her body? :-) I lvoed this, especially since it's written with such warm and flirty tone! So much win...

FAT SEX: What everyone wants to know but is afraid to ask

Lastly I'd like to point out the really awesome community [livejournal.com profile] fatshionista. It's a really cool community! A lot of nice Outfits Of The Day, discussions about reactions from society... where to buy nice clothes... etc, etc.. It's just a nice place all around. Highly recommended!

Promised a LARP-friend to share these links, so now I did. She is, by the way, a damn gorgeous young woman... And I haven't seen a woman rock a corset like her in a LONG time! And the amount of stuff she can hide in her décolletage is downright scary... o.O Yes, I have breast-envy. Shut up. *lol*

Link-Dump, Part Two: Random mix o' stuff...

Here's another link-dump for ya... Figured I'd split them up a bit, so... There's one more coming, actually. Unless I change my mind, you never know...

If you're in the Tokio Hotel fandom, you are already well aware of this already... and if you are not, you might not care. But hey, it's Bill Kaulitz voice, and it was very nice hearing it again.

I Am (feat. Wyclef Jean, Tokio Hotel, and David Correy)

And also, hey Tokio Hotel fans! This just really cute... ;-) Especially if you like the pairing Torg. :-D

Some Torg this way! )

More music! And a bit o sad news... Mötle Crüe, the iconic band, is calling it quits. One final tour and it's done. They've even written a contract on the fact that after this tour, no more Mötley Crüe. *sad face* I do understand them though. I DO! Mick Mars, the guitarist who I admire greately, suffers from a serious and chronic inflammatory disease in his skeleton called Ankylosing spondylitis. It's why he walks and stands like that. He literary can NOT move more than he does. And suffers from constant pain. So the fact he's been touring as much as he has is a bloody miracle. So I think Mick's health is partly the reason. And the fact they've always talked about going out on top and not dragging on with replacement members and such...

So a final tour it is. And if they are coming to Sweden? I am going. I AM! No ifs ands or buts. I AM GOING TO SEE THEM LIVE! First and only time, but I WILL, DAMMIT! I missed them the last time they were here, since I was 7 or 8 months pregnant, so... Yeah.

Mötley Crüe Final Tour interview, making it official tomb stones and all... (vid)

My favorite song by them, from their latest album Saints of Los Angeles (which is my favorite album by them, to be honest...)

White Trash Circus by Mötley Crüe... )

More music! (Sure is a lot of that this time...) But of the more happy kind... sorta... Bring your tissues. This made me smile while also bringing tears to my eyes. Kid-hospital going a bit nuts and bringing smiles to kids suffering from cancer. Yeah. Tissues. But it'll make you smile to. I swear.

BRAVE!  )

And now randomly for a comic. This is posted in a swedish blog, but the comic is in english. And yeah... Sometimes pursuing your dreams might be worth it. It's what I struggle with every day. Should I? Shouldn't I? Maybe I should? Maybe I am just a little bit closer than I was yesterday... And in the meantime I can be my kid and ´just be the best mom I can be...

Your life's dream by Bill Watterson

I feel this is a vary random post, but my linkdumps usually are... Anyway.

I really really love the up and coming swedish actor Joel Kinnaman. He has done some AMAZING acting in swedish movies, and I love that man to bits. Now he has joined them Skarsgård's in Hollywood and have done some roles there to... Then the other night, randomly, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 asked me if I knew there'll be a remake of Robocop, an old movie I do quite enjoy, silly as it might be. I had no idea. So I looked it up. And who'll play Robocop himself, you think? Oh yeah... Kinnaman. :-D It looks like it'll be an amazing movie, since he is joined by Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson... among others... Now this is a remake I REALLY look forward to see! :-D

Robocop 2014 Official Trailer... )

Change of subject AGAIN! As you know I am LARPing quite a bit, and my character has changed some lately, making her prone to be addicted to stuff... (currently beer and marijuana, but that might change at any time...) So I was randomly looking around YouTube, and stumbled upon this. How to make fake cigarettes... Now, I am not smoking, but since my character has this thing for marijuana, than maybe this might be something I should make? Fake cigarettes! I think they look quite cool, and not to hard to make either. So... Yeah. :-) Something to keep in mind.

How to make a realistic-looking cigarette... )

Let's jump between subjects some more!

This just made me both head-desk, laugh, face-palm and then laugh some more...

Angry scientist finds an uneducated internet comment and delivers an epic response...

Now I got one serious and one fun and interesting link left. Let's start with the serious one.

Most people have probably read the open letter that Mia Farrow's daughter, Dylan Farrow, wrote about being sexually absued by Woody Allen. Now, he was never prosecuted, but... Reading this, I swear I'll never ever watch a movie by that man again. Seriuosly. SO fucked up... *shakes head* What is wrong with people?

An Open Letter From Dylan Farrow

And, to end things on a brighter note, I have to say I love the interenets. Going from the most serious of the serious and then to the silly and then back again...

This had my jaw drop to the floor, and I could NOT stop reading about this guy! I even started following him on Twitter! This guy has.... two dicks. Two penises that are fully functional. A condition called Diphallia. I am so fascinated by this, I don't even... And everyone I've discussed him with, goes totally fascinated to and goes straight online to find pictures. Not hard to find. He provides them himself with regularity (no face though for obvious reasons). So not only does he have two dicks... he seems to be a genially nice and interesting guy.

DoubleDickDude answering questions on Reddit

DoubleDickDude on Twitter: @DiphallicDude

That concludes the link-dump of today.

I am sorry I haven't answered the MASS of comments I've gotten on my posts lately. THANK YOU everyone! I will get to it when I get back from moms on Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Link-dump Part One... Depression.

I've read up a lot about depression these last months, and I've found a lot of interesting stuff. Things I've found and then got sent to me in case I hadn't read it... So it's been a lot. I've always tried to be there for my friends. It's what I do. And any friend should do. And being the librarian I am, after an... incident, shall we say on Twitter, I decided to read up like fuck as much as I could.

The blogger ChipInHead wrote a very interesting post, pointing out that no matter how much I try I am no Doc. No professional. So when push comes to show... I can only beg my friends to seek help.

Depression is a disease and most of us aren't doctors...

This Tumblr post made by a Rob Delaney, who've also suffered from depression, is also making a valid point. And I quote the end of the post: Get help. Don’t think. Get help. (From the end of the post.) So yeah, I won't shut up about it. And I won't give up on you. So there. Anyway, it's a very good post all in all, and deserves a read.

On Depression & Getting Help

I'm a visual person. I've always been. It's why I am such a HUGE comic/graphic novel fan, I suppose. And this? When I stumbled upon this months ago, it really helped me understand my friends better. Don't mean I'll shut up, but it did help me tons. So... I'll share it.

Hyperbole and a Half on: Depression

Talking of comix and me being a visuel person, I did find an online comic that tries to show what depression is like. I am in no position to say if it is accurate, but... I think it's good and helps me at least to understand better.

Depression Comix .Com

I also try to see behind what my friends say, even if I probably fail sometimes...

A Come out of the dark post: Someday we'll be able to REALLY say what's on our minds...

I've probably lost a ton of links where I've read interesting and well worded articles, but these are the ones I still kept. I hope they can help anyone else, either to understand their friends or for those suffering from depression to see that they are not alone.

Secret Santa Can Suck It (NOT the fic-challenge!)

All TH-fans! I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE FIC-CHALLENGE!

With that said, let me tell you what I AM talking about. :-D

I've been following the blog Shadow Manor - The Art Of Darkness for many years now, and every year when it gets close to Christmas, they have this fake gift swap. Meaning, if you could afford to, knew the recipient or even cared enough... This would be what you'd get them. :-)

I have never joined, but... WTH not, right? So here goes.

To my recipient, Cat of Spookymoon.Com!

I noticed you enjoy history and haunted buildings and things.... Since you've posted a lot about that.

So... Had I been able to, I would have given you a trip. To visit some of the most interesting and famous castles around Sweden. ;-)

We'd start at the castle closest to my home, Torpa Stenhus.

(Click for slightly bigger.)

Apparently one of the owners plastered his daughter into an alcove in the wall... alive...

Then I'd take you to Läckö Castle... where I've spent so much time when I was a kid. I love that castle.

(Click for bigger!)

Was a lot of witches burned in this castle during the witchhunts, so I am sure there's a ghost or two haunting these halls as well...

(Click for HUGE!!!)

Then we'd go to Vadstena Castle in the city Vadstena where I have relatives that we could stay with. :-)

(Click for bigger!)

Apparently the widow of Karl X of Sweden haunts the halls of Vadstena Castle...

(Click for bigger!)

Then we'd go to Gripsholms Castle, that is actually IN USE now and then by our current royal family...

(Click for bigger!)

Here's a ghost called The Grey Lady, one of the wives of Karl IX, who haunts these halls...

(Click for bigger!)

Lastly, before I let you go home again, we have the current residency of the royal family... Drottningholm Castle.

(Click for HUGE!)

There's apparently more than one ghost haunting these halls. Both the White Lady... and a Grey Man... I hope our royal family still sleeps good during the night.

(Click for HUGE!)

And that would be the last castle on the trip!

With that I say! MERRY CHRISTMAS and all that... :-)

One HUGE sharing post with LOT'S of stuff, serious, fun and everything in between...

This sharing post is long LOOONG overdue! *lol* I've had these links waiting in tags for a long time, and well... Now there's a lot of tabs. ;-)

Enjoy!

Got a link for this blogg, Megan Kerr from my RP-friend, and damn WHAT A WOMAN! BIG, sexy and beautiful! And with a lot of attitude to boot. I LOVE IT! Also, she has this swimsuit special, and I think I just found the swimsuit I want. Dammit for being so expensive though! :-P

Meagan Kerr's Swimsuit Special!

Just two posts under that tag currently, but apparently there's supposed to be three of them eventually. :-)

The swimsuit I want:

Now how sexy is that? And how sexy is that woman?!?! o.O I want! But damn if the prize for that bikini ain't a lot!

Talking about big sexy women... I stumbled upon this community [livejournal.com profile] fatshionista, a size-positive community... and feel COMPLETELY in love! GEEZES! Talk about fierce women! o.O I have asked to join and are still waiting to be approved. Damn. I see a lot of selfies in the future. To bad I have such boring clothes. *lol* Although, I will admit the pants I bought the other day are pretty cool...

Anyway!

Found this as well, and I damn well nearly cried. o.O How amazing is this? Everyone is beautiful It just depends on who is looking and how...

Powerful Video Of People With Disabilities Reacting To Mannequins Of Themselves Will Make You Cry And Smile At The Same Time

I do follow the book-blog Forever Young Adult, and they do a lot of fun reviews of books written for young adults. There's a lot of great humor in their reviews, and they are very LGBT-positive! :-D Win-win in my book. ;-)

And they posted a review of a book that sounds really interesting.. About a trans-sexual youth. Called Freakboy and written by Kristen Elizabeth Clark. Definitely sounds interesting... Check out the review HERE:

Male? Female? Other? - FreakBoy. Kristen Elizabeth Clark takes on the forgotten T in LGBT.

Randomly, have a seriously cute gif before we continue:

I am not on Tumbler often, but when I do I do run into some gems...

Like this one. I really love Disney movies, Hunchback of Notre Dame one of them. And I LOVE the song Hellfire in said movie, surprisingly sexual considering it's Disney... It's sung by a man... Now what if we genderbend it... :-) It does sound REALLY cool sung by a woman to. There's some fanart there as well with Frollo as a woman. ;-)

Sweet Poofin singing Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame

More music! I am a HUGE fan of the musical artist Fred Johansson... He has one of dark heavy voices that crawl into your soul, I swear... And when such a singer takes on a song like Poor Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas... it can only be magical. :-) This makes me shiver every single time i listen to it. :-D

Fred Johansson singing Poor Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas

I have had the pleasure of hearing him live as Javert in Les Miserables more than a year ago. I still remember it. :-)

Another thing I found on Tumblr was this about how sometimes history proves to be really damn kickass! :-D

A fake eye made out of gold? That was USED? Pre-history time officially kicks ass...

I saw created a prompt around that...

To get you even more into the Christmas-spirit, maybe this might help? The company WestJet sure gave their costumers one HELL of a Christmas surprise! :-D All cred to that company, seriously! The look on those travelers who got their Christmas-surprises are absolutely priceless! SO AWESOME!

WestJet Christmas Surprise Will Make You Believe in Santa

Then there's this. I have no idea where the clips are from or if it was just made for that song, but gawd damn, talk about feel good feeling all over! :-D

Husbands - Unconditionally )

Even Joss Whedon makes an apparence! That made me lol, to be honest! Kinda awesome! :-D

Something else that made me lol was this:

Americans Try To Place European Countries On A Map

Not saying I can place all the states in the US on the map, but I do know where the country is and what countries that boarders the US. :-)

Then there's the ever awesome James Marsters (the vampire Spike from the tv-show Buffy, for those that don't know) talking about what makes vampires cool... and his favorite vampire-actors.

James Marsters on cool vampires )

Funny how iPhones and the company Apple is raised to the skies as the greatest thing ever... This... was eyeopening:

Dirty secrets Apple doesn't want you to know...

Some I knew, but... not all. :-P

Then I found out about the To This Day Project... and was amazed. Look at this video. The art, so amazing... so touching. And it's all true. Everything said in this...

To this day... )

Now for something more uplifting... I found this vid-series on YouTube, that had the goth in me cheer! :-D A series of short movies about... the adult Wednesday Addams... *lol* I'll just let you think about that one a little, and then point you the view to all the episodes. They all a theme, like... job-interview, apartment hunt, a date... *lol* Amazing! I highly recommend checking them out!

Adult Wednesday Addams by Melissa Hunter

I thought they were fun anyway... :-)

More fun, me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 did a Quiz/meme/test today. :-) It was a lot of fun, and the combo we ended up as made me lol. X-D

Which Game of Thrones character are you?

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 ended up:

Robb Stark:

You’re the King of the North! Loyal, handsome, and brave. You also hate weddings.

Me? Well...

Khal Drogo:

Though you want people to be scared of you, you’re a giant softie at heart. You’re also dead.

How awesome ain't that? Damn Martin for killing off Drogo though...

Let's stay in the fantasy-genre for just a sec and kill some minds with a mindfuck. I know there are fans of them dwarfs out there...

Dwarfs fucking with your mind under here... )

Mind officially fucked...

Talk about fucking... To those that are of age or just sexually active... We've all been there. X-D I swear!

The 6 Best AND WORST Ways to Have Sex

So very very true...

And this LARP/RP-blogg on Tumblr made me grin. How cute aren't these two cosplayers cosplaying Dean and Castiel of Supernatural? I'd say they do a pretty good job to!

This is the story of Dean and Cas... and sometimes Sam

To those thinking LJ is the spawn of Satan destroying fandoms and stopping LGBT stories and such here on LJ? I'd suggest you read this:

Staff setting the record straight about LGBT, Russia etc...

Randomly vikings vs Pirates... Because vikings rule! :-D

Vikings vs Pirates )

Talking of pirates.. HOW could I, an old PotC-fangirl... miss this? Black Sails a series about pirates that the channel Starz will start airing in January... I can not WAIT to get my hands on this! PIRATES! YES! WOHOO!

Black Sails trailer... )

Now THAT... looks really promising. :-D

And if you managed to get through all that? All the props to you. :-)

Now I am going to bed and to stress about the fact it's almost Christmas... ARGH!

... I created a LiveJournal.

Had I only known how much it would change my life, ups and downs, I would have thought twice about it.

I even named my first entry First Entry... It's HERE if you wanna see. I was writing much shorter entries back then. Short and quick. And I remember I shared a TON of memes and tests.

What happened to all that I wonder? It's not 'cool' to do anymore?

I wanted to do something special for my tenth year anniversary. Like... I don't know. Offer to write a ton of drabbles or something. Or... Maybe even do a giveaway or something...

But I really don't feel like it.

Lately I've tried to figure out why I don't want to post that much anymore. And the other day, I think I figured it out.

It's not LJ's fault. They've done nothing wrong in my book, just tried to develop the site to the best of their ability, and keep it alive and thriving.

But it's the negativity that has spread though the sites users like a plague. Because as soon as I say that I like LJ, I get negativity. As soon as LJ is doing anything, I see negativity. It seems like no matter what, there's negativity. No one even wants to give any changes a chance. And that makes me sad. Bottomless sad. :-/

LJ will continue to be my home though.

Ten years. I created my LJ in December 2003. Just months before, in September 2003 I meet [livejournal.com profile] peting73. I've had this LJ for as long as our relationship has lasted.

I've written about my struggles with the Sexmaster's society, the Student Union and it's pub, and writing my national masters thesis at the University here. About my friends and family. About the loss of my father, even if it happened before I got this LJ. About my struggles getting a job. About the job's I've had and lost. About the vampire-LARP and how I've been doing there. About my mixed feeling's about moving in with [livejournal.com profile] peting73, and later the fact that all went well. About losing my old friends that I grew up with. About becoming an aunt, and the joys with that. About my disease, Endometriosis, and the struggles with that. When we got engaged, right out of the blue. And my journey to get pregnant, even if I kept it very vague since we wanted to keep it a secret... And when we told, and I've never gotten that many comments on one single post... Birth of Alexandra, and my struggles being a new mom bottle feeding my baby girl...

Just... life. I've shared my life here. Every single detail. I've always been an open book, even in real life. Honest like few others. It's a warning I always give. Disgustingly honest person here. It goes both online and in real life that warning. My RL friends enjoy it, likes it, seem to want it... And I hope that those who have stuck around here on LJ do to.

I'll be here. Seems like nothing can drag my away from this place. I hope someone might take a moment to give me a comment here... Because I miss the discussions I've had in comments like I don't even know what. Used to get 5-15 comments a post... Now I'll be happy if I get two.

Things change. Life moves on.

But one thing's for sure. I'll be here. And continue to be here until the site finally closes down, if that ever happens...

Oh! And I changed my layout to what I can remember being the closest to what I used when I started using this site... Not exactly, but close enough.
