This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

So... the 23e of January I broke my leg... A week later, my mom fell over and scratched up her whole face. Going on a check up, she found out that her bad knee? Had a crack in the kneecap. Fuck. No cast needed, but she needs a protective knee pad thingy to make sure her kneecap stays put. And guess what? The week after that my brother... got ran over by a cow (well, a heifer) and twisted his knee... so one of those knee pad thingies for him to, but he only had to use it for about a week or so.

WTH? o.O

And that's not all!

Mom came over last weekend to hang out and help us out a bit. As long as she's taking it easy and moving around slow, her knee is fine, so that's good. Anyway. Guess what happened then? She dropped her phone in the toilette! X-D No joke! We didn't find it there until about an hour after she'd noticed it was gone. And that's just because I needed to use the bathroom.

Geezes. Enough is enough universe! Give us a break!

At this point all there is is to laugh about it all, to be honest.

I watched an amazing movie the other day. Desert Flower. I pretty much broke down. It's about the life of Waris Dirie and her life from being a little girl in the Somali dessert to a model and to a spokeswoman against female genital mutilation. To say I broke down during that movie, despite the fun parts, would be an understatement. It was done to her when she was 3 years old.... Just 3. About the age as Alexandra....

To say Alexandra got plenty cuddles that night would be an understatement.

Desert Flower Trailer... )

Watch it. I think it's an important movie. I've put a hold on the book at the closest library (where I'm supposed to be working if it hadn't been for my broken leg...). It's next to Alexandras daycare, so I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] peting73 will pick it up for me.

[livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit, my best friend, came by said hi and helped me clean a bit as well not to long ago. She dropped off the book Temeraire av Naomi Novik. In english. ;-) So there's that. And I'm reading the book Toddler Taming as well. Because, damn. I have a toddler now. o.O At least Alexandra is a moderately calm toddler. :-)

Now I'm going to hobble with my walking support (looking like this) to go eat and watch some Supernatural and read a bit. Working on a link/pimp post as well. Gonna be a lot of 50 Shades of GreyFail in that. ;-)

This sharing post is long LOOONG overdue! *lol* I've had these links waiting in tags for a long time, and well... Now there's a lot of tabs. ;-)

Enjoy!

Got a link for this blogg, Megan Kerr from my RP-friend, and damn WHAT A WOMAN! BIG, sexy and beautiful! And with a lot of attitude to boot. I LOVE IT! Also, she has this swimsuit special, and I think I just found the swimsuit I want. Dammit for being so expensive though! :-P

Meagan Kerr's Swimsuit Special!

Just two posts under that tag currently, but apparently there's supposed to be three of them eventually. :-)

The swimsuit I want:

Now how sexy is that? And how sexy is that woman?!?! o.O I want! But damn if the prize for that bikini ain't a lot!

Talking about big sexy women... I stumbled upon this community [livejournal.com profile] fatshionista, a size-positive community... and feel COMPLETELY in love! GEEZES! Talk about fierce women! o.O I have asked to join and are still waiting to be approved. Damn. I see a lot of selfies in the future. To bad I have such boring clothes. *lol* Although, I will admit the pants I bought the other day are pretty cool...

Anyway!

Found this as well, and I damn well nearly cried. o.O How amazing is this? Everyone is beautiful It just depends on who is looking and how...

Powerful Video Of People With Disabilities Reacting To Mannequins Of Themselves Will Make You Cry And Smile At The Same Time

I do follow the book-blog Forever Young Adult, and they do a lot of fun reviews of books written for young adults. There's a lot of great humor in their reviews, and they are very LGBT-positive! :-D Win-win in my book. ;-)

And they posted a review of a book that sounds really interesting.. About a trans-sexual youth. Called Freakboy and written by Kristen Elizabeth Clark. Definitely sounds interesting... Check out the review HERE:

Male? Female? Other? - FreakBoy. Kristen Elizabeth Clark takes on the forgotten T in LGBT.

Randomly, have a seriously cute gif before we continue:

I am not on Tumbler often, but when I do I do run into some gems...

Like this one. I really love Disney movies, Hunchback of Notre Dame one of them. And I LOVE the song Hellfire in said movie, surprisingly sexual considering it's Disney... It's sung by a man... Now what if we genderbend it... :-) It does sound REALLY cool sung by a woman to. There's some fanart there as well with Frollo as a woman. ;-)

Sweet Poofin singing Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame

More music! I am a HUGE fan of the musical artist Fred Johansson... He has one of dark heavy voices that crawl into your soul, I swear... And when such a singer takes on a song like Poor Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas... it can only be magical. :-) This makes me shiver every single time i listen to it. :-D

Fred Johansson singing Poor Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas

I have had the pleasure of hearing him live as Javert in Les Miserables more than a year ago. I still remember it. :-)

Another thing I found on Tumblr was this about how sometimes history proves to be really damn kickass! :-D

A fake eye made out of gold? That was USED? Pre-history time officially kicks ass...

I saw created a prompt around that...

To get you even more into the Christmas-spirit, maybe this might help? The company WestJet sure gave their costumers one HELL of a Christmas surprise! :-D All cred to that company, seriously! The look on those travelers who got their Christmas-surprises are absolutely priceless! SO AWESOME!

WestJet Christmas Surprise Will Make You Believe in Santa

Then there's this. I have no idea where the clips are from or if it was just made for that song, but gawd damn, talk about feel good feeling all over! :-D

Husbands - Unconditionally )

Even Joss Whedon makes an apparence! That made me lol, to be honest! Kinda awesome! :-D

Something else that made me lol was this:

Americans Try To Place European Countries On A Map

Not saying I can place all the states in the US on the map, but I do know where the country is and what countries that boarders the US. :-)

Then there's the ever awesome James Marsters (the vampire Spike from the tv-show Buffy, for those that don't know) talking about what makes vampires cool... and his favorite vampire-actors.

James Marsters on cool vampires )

Funny how iPhones and the company Apple is raised to the skies as the greatest thing ever... This... was eyeopening:

Dirty secrets Apple doesn't want you to know...

Some I knew, but... not all. :-P

Then I found out about the To This Day Project... and was amazed. Look at this video. The art, so amazing... so touching. And it's all true. Everything said in this...

To this day... )

Now for something more uplifting... I found this vid-series on YouTube, that had the goth in me cheer! :-D A series of short movies about... the adult Wednesday Addams... *lol* I'll just let you think about that one a little, and then point you the view to all the episodes. They all a theme, like... job-interview, apartment hunt, a date... *lol* Amazing! I highly recommend checking them out!

Adult Wednesday Addams by Melissa Hunter

I thought they were fun anyway... :-)

More fun, me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 did a Quiz/meme/test today. :-) It was a lot of fun, and the combo we ended up as made me lol. X-D

Which Game of Thrones character are you?

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 ended up:

Robb Stark:

You’re the King of the North! Loyal, handsome, and brave. You also hate weddings.

Me? Well...

Khal Drogo:

Though you want people to be scared of you, you’re a giant softie at heart. You’re also dead.

How awesome ain't that? Damn Martin for killing off Drogo though...

Let's stay in the fantasy-genre for just a sec and kill some minds with a mindfuck. I know there are fans of them dwarfs out there...

Mind officially fucked...

Talk about fucking... To those that are of age or just sexually active... We've all been there. X-D I swear!

The 6 Best AND WORST Ways to Have Sex

So very very true...

And this LARP/RP-blogg on Tumblr made me grin. How cute aren't these two cosplayers cosplaying Dean and Castiel of Supernatural? I'd say they do a pretty good job to!

This is the story of Dean and Cas... and sometimes Sam

To those thinking LJ is the spawn of Satan destroying fandoms and stopping LGBT stories and such here on LJ? I'd suggest you read this:

Talking of pirates.. HOW could I, an old PotC-fangirl... miss this? Black Sails a series about pirates that the channel Starz will start airing in January... I can not WAIT to get my hands on this! PIRATES! YES! WOHOO!

Now THAT... looks really promising. :-D

And if you managed to get through all that? All the props to you. :-)

Now I am going to bed and to stress about the fact it's almost Christmas... ARGH!

Have some links that have lingered around in my tabs me thinking "I should share this on LJ!" So now I do. :-) Enjoy!

Let's start with the vids!

This is just so cute, I don't even... What a wonderful little short! It's been winning awards to! And I can definitely see why...

Last piece of music... Found this clip from The X Factor... I can not believe this woman is over 50 and a grandma! o.O Geezes...

This was pretty cool. And makes up a good point what a lot of people from the nordic countries think when looking at the USA...

Sure looks a lot more yummy than it sounded in them books...

Wouldn't call that beer.... )

Not involved in the Supernatural fandom, but this seriously cracked me up. X-D Misha Collins, actor of the angel Castiel (and apparently slightly nuts...), answering the question: As a Hollywood executive, what would they do to Supernatural?

The answer all fangirls would want from Mr Collins...

As a LARPer, if I ever EVER go on a fantasy-LARP... I'd definitely shop for one of these! Looks so so much cooler than the plastic elf-ears I see a lot on LARP's during summer... REALLY neat!

Elf-ears made out of wire...

I've been following the professional writer and artist Ursula Vernon, [livejournal.com profile] ursulav, pretty much since I started to use my LJ. And this post? Just cracked me up SO BAD! X-D It pretty much tells all about that woman right there.

Talking off fandom and fanfic... And well... A certain Stephanie Meyer AND a certain E. L. James should definitely take a close look at this link to... *cough, cough*

I know I haven't been around in a while, and I do apologize for that. Or maybe I shouldn't. If you've stuck around, I suppose that is a good thing. Am a bit down tonight, but I'll try to make a sorta update anyway.

So much has happened since last, I think I'll make it into a bullet-list instead, because otherwise this post will be a fucking novel, and I wouldn't wanna do that to my dear friends on my f-list.

  • LARP is still good and a lot of fun. I was a bit behind on things like plots and stuff, but apparently my partner in crime there, whose character I play a servant to, was a bit behind on things as well, so together we got caught up and now we are ready to make mischief again. Fun, fun!

  • My brother, who as I've mentioned before, had a divorce, is doing SOOOO much better! He misses his kids terribly those weeks they are with their mother, but drowns himself in work then, so he can spend more time with his kids when they are with him. He really is doing his best, and is a great father, I swear! And a hardworking farmhand to, definitly.

  • Been visiting my brother, since he had his birthday not to long ago, and damn... That was A LOT of fun! Now when he is doing a lot better after said divorce, he is pretty much back to what he was like when we grew up. At least the bickering between us, according to our mother. X-D Hilarious!

  • My mom is doing good to, she is as crazy as ever. You heard about the operetta The Merry Widow? Dude, she got that one beat. *LOL* She is out dancing and hanging with her sister and her friends, and she is knitting like crazy for her three grandkids and... How the hell she has time to work, I have no idea. But she is happy, healthy and... slightly nuts, so who am I to complain? :-) Oh, and she's 60 years old. If it hadn't been for her white hair, you wouldn't have been able to tell.

  • On that note, I found one white hair in my forehead. Only one. I am apparently getting old. I give it 20 more years, tops, and I'll have as paper white hair as my mom.

  • Fandom wise I have slacked off a bit with going through the members list of [livejournal.com profile] tokiohotelslash. Which I feel bad about. I have kept up posting on [livejournal.com profile] gs_daily pretty well, which I feel good about. And I think the pimp-posts I do at [livejournal.com profile] tokiohotelslash are appreciated. I haven't gotten much feedback, but I do hope so. There has been a bit more posts in that community since I took over and started them pimp-posts, so I see that as a positive thing. When I have the energy and talked to mods of other big communities, I have another plan for said community I want to kick off... Will have to finish going through all them members first though. :-P

  • I've started up another RP with my darling friend from New Zealand. Damn that woman and her brain. Who knew a crossover between Pirates of the Caribbean and Supernatural would work out so fine? And that Dean Winchester and Captain Will Turner of the Flying Dutchman would make such a great, if doomed, pairing? :-) The RP I do with [livejournal.com profile] snowstormskies is still going very strong as well. Torg-strong. *LOL* I love it to bits, and she being a fic-writer from start, she sure keeps me on my toes, taking a whole other take on this RP-thing! I have a ton of fun with it. :-D Much love on you two girls for giving me such a gift as being able to play with you. Honored. Really. :-)

  • Alexandra is doing really good. Goes to the daycare center Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday ever week. 8am to 1pm. Gives me some time to myself looking for work and being a bit housewifey. If I get hired by the hour though, the hours she's there changes or days changes if needed. The staff is really great there, even if I it does take a bit to walk there, something I am not to fond off.

  • Talking off... I did work this week. Wednesday and Thursday. For the first time since I had Alexandra. At a school-library at a school with a lot of troubled kids. Helped a bunch of kids. Had to throw out a bunch of loud rude kids. Got questions about my piercings and tattoos. Got called a racist. I felt right at home. :-) I really hope I get to work there again or at another school-library. I love working with kids, any age. Seriously. So awesome!

  • When not working I am trying to make sense of the websites for the unemployment fund AND the employment office, since I have to report on to both continuously . Their rules have changed since I was unemployed last. Both for the better and for the worse... I think I have figured it out now though. :-) If I do one thing wrong, I'll be cut off from my unemployment benefits. Fair, but damn... that is a lot of stuff to keep in mind to make sure of that. o.O *has a list*

  • My best friend, [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and I are still working our way through Supernatural. We have the last two episodes of season 5 to watch before we can start up on season 6. Our current amusement is to guess how much more angsty it can get... The show still keep surprising us with upping the angst even more. *LOL* We truly enjoy it though, I gotta say. A show that I thought was worse than it was. Keeps proving me wrong. Well done, Supernatural!

  • I also preordered Sons of Anarchy Season 5 and since it arrived I keep working my way through that one again. I did watch it without subtext at one point, but there's one character with a pretty thick accent... *cough*Chibs*cough* ... that I just can't follow or understand without subtext, so now I actually understand the plot of the season much MUCH better! Can't wait to see season 6, seriously... That show keeps throwing me curve balls...

And so it ended up a novel anyway. Points to you if you managed to read through all that. Now I am going to bed since we'll be home both me and Alexandra tomorrow. She has a bit of a cold right now, so nothing to exiting for us.

All the questions! )

Question 21 - One of your favorite shows.

I can only pick one? *lol*

There are a few I'll go back to again, and again. And read about. Not necessarily fanfiction all the time, but just info about actors and what they are up to currently and if there'll be more episodes and... just... stuff. :-)

First off is my first love that I'll never ever abandon: Robin of Sherwood. To say this TV-show is old would be an understatement. It first ran between 1984-1986. I didn't see it then, but when it went on a re-run during the early to mid 1990's here in Sweden. Me and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit feel head over heels in love with it and started to draw fanart and write fanfiction about the show and it's characters, without knowing that's what we did. We even made dolls out of clay, leather and wire! In the last years we've given each other gifs: the DVD-box with the entire series. And we still talk about it, and fangirl over actors from the show when they show up in any other TV-show or movie. (Ray Winstone, anyone...? ;-) )

Then there's Xena: Warrior Princess. I really am a diehard fan of that show. I started watching it during my time in the USA since the family I lived with watched it. I still remember what episode I saw first. The Debt Part I. I still get shivers watching it to this day, and The Debt Part I and II have been my favorite episodes since. Xena was the first fandom where I started to become active in fandom, reading fanfic, watching fanart and fanvids (which was A Thing back then), joining forums and such. This was late 1990's. I came home from the USA 1998.

Next TV-show would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I started watching that one when I moved to this city and started studying. A channel aired re-runs at a perfect time for me to watch while I had breakfast nearly every day before classes. And since I studies a lot from home, I tended to work around any re-run of the re-runs. *lol* So yeah, I watched a lot of Buffy and later Angel the Series while I studied. I was very active in this fandom. And it was in this fandom I first started to roleplay online.

Then there's a big jump in years. I got involved in other fandoms (Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel...), but then them TV-shows sneak in again...

Next TV-show I managed to get really involved in is... Sons of Anarchy. I really really didn't think this would be a TV-show for me, considering what I'd earlier fangirled about. (See above.) But [livejournal.com profile] peting73 really liked it and told me to give it a chance. So we watched the first season together, and yeah. I had to admit it was pretty good. (I do love a man in leather and with tattoos...) And then Alexandra was born and I was stuck on the couch a lot. We had the first 4 seasons on DVD. The temptation was to big. And dude. I got HOOKED! Like seriously HOOKED! I now tentatively dip my toes in the fandom, and have found some seriously good fanfic and even have an OTP already... Doomed? Well, yes. X-D

I also have a HUGE soft spot for Game of Thrones and Supernatural (only seen up till half of season 5, so no spoilers please!), but I really have no interest in searching for fanfic and fandoms there. I love the shows, VERY much, don't get me wrong. But reading fanfic and such about them shows just don't appeal to me.

So yeah. That was my favorite TV-shows.

Question 22 - How have you changed in the past 2 years?

Uhu... Yeah. I'd say so. Everyone changes, it's just part of life. I got pregnant and became a mother. Now there's a change for ya'! X-D *lol* So yeah, of course I've changed. So very much! But at the same time much of me is the same. :-) I am still the geek and the nerd and the fangirl that squees over gay guys having sex in fiction (or lesbian girls, of course! YAY femme-slash!), and play scary vampires every other week... That won't change. Why should it? I am still ME! Just more. :-)
