I got a selfie with The Phantom Of The Opera! TRUE STORY!!! (A LOT of photos in this post!)

So I went to Gothenburg for some quality time with my best friend this weekend. And to see Phantom of the Opera with Fred Johanson playing the title role of the Phantom.

I saw Fred Johanson in the movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar years and years ago, and I feel head over heels over his deep dark voice and his incredible presence in every scene he was in. My best friend, who is a serious musical buff, has since kept track of him both for me and since she likes him to. In a word, we’ve turned into a bit of fangirls over him.

Had I not been a fresh new mom, we would have gone to Stockholm to see him in Jesus Christ Superstar there, but alas… :-) Now we got our chance though, and we jumped at it! Plus it played during February and we both HATE February, so there’s that to. :-) We all need something to put a smile on our face, right?

Anyhow, to make sure we wouldn’t have to stress after we’d been to the Gothenburg Opera House were the musical played, we decided to share a room at a hotel. We both have busy lives with work and such, so we needed a lazy little weekend with our best friend. :-)

We left for Gothenburg moderately early, it just takes 1 hour to go to Gothenburg by bus or train, so we were there around… 10:30am.

Went to the hotel we were luckily our room was already available, so we dumped our sleepover bags and then we just strolled around town taking our time. We both needed a stress free day, and we took our time with everything. Went to our favorite shops and stores. I ‘happened to’ buy the three latest Elfquest graphic novels. Oops? And we had a late lunch/dinner in a lovely british themed pub before we went back to the hotel to dress up for the night.

Travel and shopping and views of Gothenburg and it's stores with my best friend... )

The Gothenburg Opera House is quite impressive. A modern building mostly made by glass and steel, but it still works quite well and is oddly beautiful. Right by the harbor to. Easy to get to.

Entrance of the Opera House... )

We were there in plenty time, so there was no stress getting rid of coats, do a panicked bathroom break and finding our seats. Great seats, by the way! Close but not too close to the stage. Could see everything and hear everything perfectly. Whenever I need tickets to a musical, I trust Ylletyg to get tickets, she seriously rocks at it. :-D

Interiour decoration and well... me... )

And so… On to the musical itself. :-) Apart from the knee jerk reaction “OMG! IT WAS AMAZING! I HAD GOOSEBUMPS!” Well, I did have goosebumps for most of it, but…

Unlike Ylletyg I have not seen that many musicals (she’s a proper musical-nerd), but I HAVE read the original book by Gaston Leroux. And it’s a very goth, very harsh gritty story. From what I knew of the musical going in, it’s not… quite as harsh and gritty as the original story. The original story is really dark, really goth. I do recommend it if you have the patience for the old fashioned language used. It’s really good.

So to actually see and hear it, and with Fred Johanson to boot, it was a true experience.

Me and best friend and the stage before the musical started... )

Let’s see… How to do this…

The good

Well, the music, obviously. *LOL* This production was made together with the Finnish National Opera Company, so there were a couple of opera singers in it. And the orchestra was quite massive as well. Not sure how big an orchestra is at a musical, but since this was played at the Gothenburg Opera House, they used the full orchestra usually used there. And you could tell. The music just consumed you. Not even joking. The combination of the skilled musicians and the singers, all the different singers, was spellbinding.

Another downright amazing thing, that impressed both me and Ylletyg, is something the Gothenburg Opera House is known for… The ease and speed in wish the stage was changed and the scenography. I mean, the set up of the stage was changed SO FAST and SO SEAMLESSLY!!! Apparently the Gothenburg Opera House is built to be able to do that, so there was many scenes with different looks and a lot of props that quickly and seamlessly was changed around. The most impressive scene to me was when The Phantom lures Christine with him to his lair the first time (during the song Phantom of the Opera, the most famous of the songs) and all these stairwells and grey brick walls moved around on the stage as if they were part of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies… WITH the actors standing on them! THAT was impressive!

Another really good thing about this musical, which both me and Ylletyg both commented on at the same time, was that it was quite harsh and gritty, goth and dark. Well, the story IS dark and goth in and off itself, but the movie isn’t that harsh and gritty. And according to Ylletyg, previous productions hasn’t been this harsh and gritty either… If that makes sense? It sure worked really really well though, and I got the feeling that the actors/singers enjoyed that to. The costumes were INCREDIBLE and while I wanted to steal most of the male costumes, Ylletyg wanted to steal all the female ones. *LOL* She said the costumes had a bit of steampunk feel to it, and I have to agree! They even redesigned The Phantom’s mask, and I have to say I really liked it! The whole scenography and costumes was really good and added to the harsh, gritty, goth, dark feel of the whole production. A great great job!

Characters / Actors

When it comes to characters and their singers/actors, I have to say a character I found dull and boring in the book and in the movie (yes, I have seen the movie to), is Raoul. Christine's love interest. He is the posterboy for the time the novel was written, but would not be popular today, if get what I mean. But the actor/singer that did him the night we watched, did something more with the character within the frames he was given. A boyish charming guy, that very clearly showed his love for Christine. Not just competing with The Phantom, you know? He somehow managed to show that he cared. More than the Raoul in the novel, to be honest. So he sure impressed me!

Raoul works together with the two new owners of the Opera, Monsieur Firmin and Monsieur André. And these two were freaking HILARIOUS! Perfect comic relief without going to far with it. Have some of the best songs, to be honest. And the two actors clearly had fun with these actors. It was very obvious. The Phantom is my favorite, but these comes close to it, for sure. I think they did great!

Carlotta and Pangini were two other characters that were definitely comic reliefs. Carlotta and Pangini are the two stars of the opera in the story. And Carlotta? Is a proper diva! *LOL* The actress/singer is a trained opera-singer. And you can tell. I don’t think she had a microphone. She didn’t need one. Holy hell, what a voice! Combining that with an over the top diva character, and it was a joy to see! Also, she had the most awesome clothes off ALL the characters! High heeled victorian boots in leopard print? GIVE ME! Pangini was a bit more flat of a character, but he was funny to. Especially with Carlotta who kept bulling him around, while he just came back for more. Both of them played up an italian accent, which was very fitting both for the setting and the story.

Madame Giry and Meg are two pretty cool characters in the story to, that I really really like. We’re getting close to my favorite now. ;-) Madame Giry pretty much takes another characters role in the novel. The character that KNOWS… Knows about where the Phantom/Erik comes from. And that was a pleasant surprise. You actually found out quite a bit! That he’d built a room of mirrors for a Shah… that he’d been born with a disfigurement… that he’d been with a freakshow lead by gypsies… That he’d built trapdoors and sneaky passages all over the Opera House… So Madame Giry is quite the important character! And the actress/singer who played her did SUCH a good job! Just the right amount of creepy and know-it-all without making it annoying.

So is Meg! She’s best friend with Christine, and is a constant suporter to Christine. She’s the one that tells Monsieur Firmin and Monsieur André that Chrstine can be a standin for Carlotta, and in so makes sure they can discover Chrstines amazing voice. She to knows the stories about the Phantom quite well and also gives us clues to him, just like her mother. Her actress doesn’t have that much to work with, but I think she did a great job, I really did.

Christine… Ah, Christine. The token love intressent. She’s just as interesting as in the novel, that is not that interesting at all. But I have to give it to the actress/singer. She really milked the role for all it was worth! Not only a gorgeous young woman with a miraculous voice that is manipulated by a creepy voice in the walls… But a woman with dreams and wants her own, that wants to be independent and be the new star but is to shy to take the chance in the beginning (thank you Meg!). And also how confused and desperate she is the longer the story unfolds. I think it was very well played! And that woman's voice… WOW! She to has apparently trained to be a opera singer, and you can tell! Some of them notes… Just wow...

The Phantom / Erik… Ah, what to say, really? Played by the INCREDIBLE Fred Johanson, the sole reason we even went to see this production of The Phantom. It, of course, helps that I really like the story about Erik, the man who has grown up harshly and then isolated because of his face that is disfigured and horrible to see. Not even his mother managed to look at him kindly. One of my favorite books is Phantom by Susan Kay about Erik’s life from birth to death. I can not recommend it enough if you enjoy this character. It’s absolutely incredible. How did Fred Johanson do in the role then? Incredible, as was expected. He is a very tall man, somewhere between 6,4 and 6,5 feet tall (said himself in an interview), if somewhat leaner than he used to be. Still, having an incredible knee length coat on (that I wanted to steal…), he makes for an imposing figure. He definitely did the character justice, and not only when he needed to be scary, but also in more emotional moments. And then Fred’s voice… Holy fuck, that deep dark voice… It gives me freaking goosebumps, not even joking. Fred also has an incredible presence on stage! I’ve seen him three times live now, and then there’s the Jesus Christ Superstar movie, and Fred has this ability to just OWN the stage as soon as he sets foot on it. I don’t know how he does it, but it’s incredible to see. As the Phantom at times you just hear his voice, you don’t see him, and he still just OWNS the stage! An amazing talent in all ways! He really should get more attention for his talent.

Just to prove Fred’s talent, here he sings The Music Of The Night:

Fred Johanson singing The Music of The Night! )

The bad

So the bad… Was there anything bad? Well, yeah. And it’s mostly nitpicking, but still.

One thing that kind disappointed me was… The infamous chandelier. The one that at one point during the musical “falls down”. The Phantom is pissed off, and makes a chandelier in the auditorium fall down and kill some of the audience, and to show this during the musical, they have a chandelier go on a cable over the audience from the ceiling. The whole musical starts with it going up the ceiling. You’d expect it to be an impressive piece then, right? Since it plays such a vital role? Right? Well. The auditorium at the Gothenburg Opera House is MASSIVE. And the chandelier kinda… disappeared. It looked REALLY TINY somehow. And the design wasn’t that impressive either, so that was a bit of a let down. :-P It was still cool though when it “fell down”.

At one point in the middle the story slowed down a bit, and I didn’t really know what was going on. It was a good thing I knew the story well, just saying, or I could have been a bit lost. Also, in the beginning especially, there was just way to many people on stage and you had to really focus to keep track of where the main characters was.

Nitpicky? Yes, a little maybe. :-) I’m allowed to. ;-)

Right, so…

After the musical was over, me and Ylletyg went to get our coats. We’d decided to try to go to the stage door to see if we could see Fred Johanson there and hopefully get an autograph. So we stood there calmly waiting in line… And suddenly, right behind us one of the many doors in the Opera House opened. And Fred Johanson in full Phantom makeup literary leaned his head out the door raising an eyebrow.

I nearly peed myself. One of those things you just can’t believe is happening.

Fred seemed to know some people, one in a wheelchair, and talked happily to them. No one bothered him, or took photos. Everyone was REALLY respectful and kept their distance, so he just stood there, talking happily with a couple of people. Opening and closing the door now and then since the alarm kept going off, and making a funny joke about it every time. Me and Ylletyg had a hard time containing our excitement, I won’t lie. We debated back and forth in hushed voices if we really would dare to go over to him or not and what we’d say etc…

Then a young women came over to me giving me a hug. It took me a second, but then I saw she was one of the many teens that had graduated from ‘my school’ two years ago. She was studying music now and was just as excited as we were about the musical experience, and very happy to see me (yay!). She’d spent hours in the library with me, so she knew what a nerd and fangirl I am. When I told her I didn’t know if I should go over to Fred or not or if I dared to ask for a photo, she sternly told me I HAD to when she understood what a fan I was. The student becomes the teacher? X-D

Said and done, when there were fewer people talking to him we walked over to him, hearts beating, and told him what an incredible singer he is. I think I even told him I got goosebumps from his voice. X-D

And we also made sure to say we were amazed by the presence he has on stage, and that we’d seen him in three different musicals live now, and that at least I kept rewatching the Jesus Christ Superstar he is in. He seemed really flattered that we’d followed his career and read up on him more than just about this role and was very happy to hear we’d enjoyed his performance that much. I remember he said he’d never reflected on about having a presence or stage or not, but we assured him he seriously has.

We respectfully asked him if we could take a photo, and he said sure! Fred then asked if we wanted a joint selfie with him. At that point my poor friend who is just 4.9 feet tall (short?) piped up “But I’m so short…” Well, I’m 5.9, almost 6 feet, and Fred is between 6.4 and 6.5 feet, so I totally understand her! X-D We ended up taking a photo each with him. When it was Ylletygs turn, he even bent his knees so he’d be level with her. IT WAS SO CUTE!!!! We again thanked him so very much for the incredible evening. He just smiled and bid his farewell before disappearing behind that door again.

Picture evidence! I DID GET A SELFIE WITH THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! I GOT TO MEET FRED JOHANSON!!! )

As we were leaving after that, we were downright floating! X-D We could not stop grinning and felt as if we were drunk, even if we hadn’t had any alcohol that day! (Well, just a little with lunch/dinner...)

Ylletyg commented that things like this only happens when it’s us two to doing stuff together, and I think she’s right! The magic of being two long time best friends? *LOL* It might be what triggers these incredible things!

So before we went back to the hotel, we felt like we needed a sturdy drink! So we found a pub that wasn’t to crowded, had a drink and a snack, discussing our evening and our incredible meeting with Fred. Then we went back to the hotel.

Once in a bed each though, we couldn’t sleep! X-D Se we ended up laying in the darkness giggling and talking for quite the long time, just like little girls, before we feel asleep!

You’d never guess we’re both 40 years old… X-D

The next day Ylletyg had to get up early since she was going on a course in Gothenburg to learn how to make hats, so I joined her for the LOVELY hotel breakfast and then she left and I just lazed around a bit in the hotel room before leaving to. A bit of shopping later and I went home.

So thus endeth my AMAZING time in Gothenburg with my best friend!

8th Fallout LARP 2017!!!! So, what happened? (Now with photos!)

Ah, this Fallout LARP... How I love you! :-D

I miss calculated and came to the conclusion this is actually the EIGHT LARP this year! WOW!!! When my friends first started this LARP they didn’t think it would last more than a year or two. I guess they were wrong? :-D I’m glad they were, because this has ended up being something I look forward to each year. :-)

If you know nothing about the Fallout games, I’d suggest you check out at least a little bit about the world. It’s post apocalyptic… The big bombs fell during the 1940’s, and so whatever technology there is, is built on the technology from that time. So is the music and the fashion with some steampunk thrown in and some random fantasy and… Well, yeah, you get the picture I hope. :-) It’s a fun and interesting world to explore!

I’ve played the same character all years, Katya Hollander. She started out as a prostitute, whore, sex worker… whatever name you want to use. She was the one that you had to pay the most to… because she let you do pretty much anything to her. She was an alcoholic, driven there by her ex husband and the fact her son had been stolen from her by bandits when he was a baby.

Said husband died horribly by a piece pipe that he thought held a treasure but instead was stuffed with radiation affected and rotten food… Insanity and death happened.

Her son, Timothey, however, did return after escaping from the bandits and they did rekindle their relationship. Katya is fiercely protective and VERY proud of her now adult son.

She managed to work her way up in the hierarchy and took over the bar and brothel where she’d previously been employed, making her the richest person in the settlement Bockaby. She also ended up in a strange and passionate relationship with the sheriff who upheld the law. He to had his secrets, but Katya stayed loyal and true to him through all his troubles.

The settlement Bockaby ended up abandoned after an attack by Bloodraiders, cannibals, so Katya had to flee to one of the bigger settlements, The University. Her lover did not come with her, but urged her forcefully to go.

After a year, she returned. Her lover is gone, the place is in ruins and she has to start again. Another group, The Steelravens, has also made their home there. And runs a bar and brothel, competing with Katya's. She ends up being beaten, losing costumers, and has to let the long running bar and brothel die down that she had once helped a friend start up.

Instead, with the help of her clever son Timothey who is now a caravan leader, traveling in between settlements with whatever wares and food they can provide, Katya starts a trading station. A VERY successful one.

And that’s where the LARP this year started. Of course there’s a lot of details of her backstory I have left out, because it’s so long, but that’s pretty much it.

Katya’s trading station has made her the second richest person in the settlement, only beaten by The Steelravens who still run the bar. She sells food (canned food) (very rarely fresh), jewellry, some broken technology from before the bombs, plates and cutlery, mugs, sewing thread (both fine and a bit rougher), and… something very valuable… books. Paper is rare, books even more so. She also have some moonshine she’s made herself.

Her trading station is popular among the people in Bockaby, especially among a couple of newcomers… One of the men among the newcomers keeps coming back to talk to her, until he finally tells her he’s been dreaming about her for quite a while. Big Mac, as his name is, is cute and funny and Katya appreciates his company and advances. Her previous lover has been gone for years, so she has been lonely.

Big Mac also gives her relief from the politics in the settlement.

Katya hates the leader of The Steelravens, who is the strongest group in Bockaby. She thinks he is running the settlement as a dictator. To her surprise though, he comes to her and says that she, as a trader together with him and another leader from another of the strongest groups in the settlement… should start a council for the settlement to run it. She’s surprised, but agrees, putting her personal feelings about the man to the side for the better of Bockaby.

It’s a good thing they do, because a diplomat (as he calls himself) comes visiting from a man called Von Rinj. This Von Rinj plans to start a Republic. He is very wealthy and has bought and runs all the caravans more or less at this point. If Bockaby would refuse to join this Republic, they’d be without provisions of any kind. Not good. Katya remembers her son mentioning Von Rinj in the letters she has received, and asks for time for the council to come to a decision. Katya has had a hard life, and believes nothing comes for free. Which the diplomat claims. He claims Von Rinj is going to help rebuild Bockaby, to bring some glory to the place. For free, as long as Bockaby is a part of the Republic. Katya does not believe him.

They end up getting 3 months to decide. She goes to write letters to her son, Timothey, to find out as much as possible about Von Rinj. (And to congratulate him to his new relationship… with a man. Apparently she has a gay son! YES!)

After some more drama... (Including a ghoul wanting to buy a kid, played by a kid, as a slave… or dinner… she wasn’t clear on that part. And two characters being thrown out of the settlement since they’d murdered a contact to Katya that was coming there with medication against radiation. And a poor sickly character falling in a heap dying...) The LARP ended.

It was a GREAT LARP! Although a bit more slow paced than previous years. Previous years have been A LOT more action packed. And a lot more filled with drama than this year.

I, well Katya, was supposed to flirt with another character, but no matter my advances, it didn’t work. And trust me when I say that Katya as a character when I play her… is EXTREMELY blunt. Comes from her previous occupation as a prostitute. So instead Big Mac came to her rescue. *LOL* He was played by a young and really funny guy! As soon as he noted I had pretty much NO limits to how far below the belt the discussion could go… we dug six feet deeper… X-D GOOD GAWD! He was so funny! And got a big hug afterwards and we had a big laugh together! His fiancee was at the LARP to! But she was busy playing out a love story between her character and another character! They both promised to come back if there’d be another Fallout LARP next year, since they had so much fun!

I keep saying, you want to be hit on by young handsome guys… Start LARPing! X-D

Going to post some photos on Instagram in a bit, I’ll link them below when I have. See all the photos below! :-) I hope there’ll be another one next year! Can’t wait! :-D

Here's all the photos I took from the LARP! ENJOY!!! )

Vacation time... Part two: A short trip to Astrid Lindgrens World!

Let's continue from where we left off, shall we?

After I'd dropped [personal profile] snowstormskies off at the airport, I went straight home. We had dinner, and... we packed.

Because the day after that, we went on a little trip with my brother. To Astrid Lindgrens World. It's a park built around the worlds and characters from the books written by Astrid Lindgren.

We were going together with my brother and his two kids, which had Alexandra totally excited! We'd rented a cabin and my brother brought his caravan. :-D We didn't get access to our spots in the camping ground until after we'd been at the park, but it didn't matter. It was the park we were aiming for, after all. :-D

First day we walked around the most. We aimed to see a few shows/plays they have around the park. It's split up in various areas, each for a book and their characters.

That first day we saw most of the park and the various themed areas. And of course caught a few shows as well.

Thing is, each area has seatings around the main building of the area. And there's shows and an actor playing the character is there during certain times. So we caught a couple of those shows/plays. About 20 mins long each.

We caught Brothers Lionheart, Pippi Longstocking and Karlsson-on-the-roof that first day. It was lovely! The actors were great, and clearly cared about their characters! Even the kid-actors!

But the best part about this park is, I have to say, how damn well made the place is! There was no plastic, no cheating, nothing like that. The whole place is built with pure craftsmanship, and a skilled one at that! If it was a wooden house, it WAS a wooden house built from the ground up, even the miniature once! A stone wall, WAS a damn stone wall even if it might not be a big one, but it was built as if it could have been! There was no cheating going on.

Even in the restaurants and FIKA places, you had real plates, real glasses, real mugs. No paper or plastic. The food, sweets and FIKA-snacks? All produced, baked etc locally. Everything tasted damn homemade, and was DELICIOUS!!!

Price? Not to bad. The entrance fee was the highest, but once you were in there everything but food and souvenirs was for free. And not even the souvenirs were hugely expensive! But those for later. :-)

Anyway, we enjoyed ourselfs. The kids ran around and played and explored everywhere. At Ronia the Robbers area, Matt's Fort, Alexandra fell and scratched the palm of her hand and was very upset. It was just a small scratch, but she did walk around begging for bandaids all day. She get it, and then after a while she pulled it off and wanted a new one... Thank heavens the staff at Astrid Lindgren's World was both kind and patient! :-D

Less than an hour before the park closed, we left and went to get my brothers caravan set up and get to our cabin. Which we did. And the cabin was GREAT! Very beautiful and comfy. And my brother could set his cabel up, so he got electricty in his caravan. :-D All good! And he also invited us over for a mini-barbecue, since he had his mini-grill with him. So we had hotdogs as a late dinner before we all collapsed in our respective beds. :-)

Photos from Day One at Astrid Lindgren's World (multiple on each!): One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six

The next day it was RAINING!!! Pouring down when we all woke up. But at the point where we'd emptied our cabin and all kids had eaten, been to the bathroom and you know... all that. It had stopped raining, but the sky was still grey, so we made sure to have the proper equipment with umbrellas for us adults and for the big kids, and Alexandra had rubberboots and half her rainsuit, just the rainpants since she wanted her normal jacket and an umbrella like everyone else. Deal!

Said and done and we went to the park with the goal to see as many shows/plays as we could possibly figure out! The park had an app and, of course, a brochure where all the shows during the day is listed.

We aimed for Matt's Fort, area with Ronia the Robbers Daughter, and to let the kids have fun on the way. But, on the way we stumbled upon Madicken's area as well! So we stopped to check their show before we moved on... And suddenly someone started talking and singing close to us again when we continued! We'd stumbled upon Rasmus and the Tramp as well! *LOL* Amazing! So we watched them as well. :-D

Then, finally, we arrived at Matt's Fort to watch Ronia, her robber father and all his robbers! IT WAS SO GOOD! For those not knowing, Ronia the Robbers daughter is my favorite book! I ADORE IT!!! So to see it on a tiny stage, part of the story, that was AMAZING! So good! Also, they sang the songs from the movie, which I loved, and it was just all around great! The kids loved it to, since the robbers sang good and were some funny characters to. :-D ALL GOOD!

After that we focused on the kids favorites... First off Emil of Lönneberga! So we continued on to that area to watch a show play there. It was great! So funny! And the songs written for that story and movie are so so so good! Probably some of the best written for Astrid Lindgren's stories, to be honest. So that was great! And the kids loved it!

We'd forgotten to eat, so we took a break for food, then we went to watch Pippi Longstocking again, because she's Alexandra's favorite and she's the youngest. ;-) The other two kids loves her to, so that was an easy decision! So went there, the kids played around with a ton of other kids in Pippi's house and then we watched Pippi. Just as good and funny as the day before. Best part was to see how Alexandra got all into it as we watched Pippi. *grin*

Then we had some FIKA, because dads need coffee... *lol* Then we went back to Emil of Lönneberga and watched another play there... Again, very funny and the songs are WONDERFUL!!! Emil is not my favorite of Astrid Lindgren's character, but the songs are some of my favorites. :-D

And then... it was time to leave. In between the shows, the kids walked around and explored. Checked out things. Tried things. And we bought homemade candy. And they just enjoyed being together as cousins. My brotehrs kids, Tilda and Theo are 10 and 8 years old. And Alexandra is just 5 years old. But Tilda and Theo are WONDERFUL with Alexandra, really loves her! Makes sure she's OK, they don't run away from her, they help her climb around in all the fun houses, explore things, explain things to her... It's just... They are just SO GOOD with her! I LOVE seeing it!

Anyway, we finished our day with Alexandra getting a toy there. Since she's learned to use the toilette properly instead of the potty. *lol* Positive reinforsment. ;-) And I figured she'd pick a Pippi doll or an Emil doll, since those are her favorites. But no. OF COURSE she picked a softie toy... a softie horse. Pippi's horse. *SIGH!* We have so many softie-horses at this point... Not surprised though.

And then we packed up, and started our journey home. After about an hour we split up, my brotehr and his kids going one way and we the other for another hour and a half. Then we were home, and all of us collapsed in the bed after getting our bags up to the apartment.

It was a great, great, great trip though! I had SUCH a good time! And us adults decided that we have to do something together next year to, because we all had such a great time. :-D

Photos from Day Two at Astrid Lindgren's World (multiple on nearly each!): One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven

And that concludes my vacation adventures! We were supposed to go to the coast to, but the weather there was supposed to suck during the time we were there. And who wants to be at the coast and not be able to swim, eh? So no. We'll do that at another time.

My Humanoid VIP experience of Tokio Hotel Dream Machine in Stockholm!!!

I saw and meet Tokio Hotel in Stockholm!!!!

Oh my world... Where to even start? X-D

OK. Let's see if we can do this.

I worked Wednesday as usual (including stopping a fight in the library... again... wtf?). Since it hadn't been very fun to take Alexandra to daycare with achy leg and heavy bags, I decided that I'd go by cab the rest of the day. Which I did. From daycare and to work. And during my work-day I ordered a cab to come pick me up to and take me to the train station. Which went very well. :-)

And after a little wait, the train came and I went to Stockholm. Only had to change train once, so not much to tell about the trip itself. I bought first class tickets though, because that means more leg-room and a more calm relaxing setting. :-)

So I had a good trip to Stockholm. Calm, nice and relaxing. And when I got there, I found a cab to take me to the hotel. No issues there either.

And the hotel was absolutely lovely. LOVELY, I tell you! And the bed….. SO SOFT! Bliss!

Anyway, the day of the concert I took the chance to have a lovely sleep in, because I’m a mom and that is rare. Then I had a great hotel breakfast, thank you ever so. Really yummy.

I didn’t want to walk around to much, since I wanted to save my broken achy leg for the concert, but I wanted to buy a gift for Alexandra and one for Peting to, for letting me do this. Well, you get what I mean. ;-)

So I walked up the street next to the hotel, but there was no shops really there. Walking back to the hotel, I asked them about it, and they said if I took the bus to the shopping area right next to the Ericsson Globe, I’d get my fill. So I did. :-)

And bought a crafting kit for Alexandra (which we tried today) and a bobble head Darth Vader for [Bad username or unknown identity: ”peting73”], because he is a SUCKER for anything Star Wars. :-) He is probably the biggest Star Wars nerd I know. :-D

That done, I took the bus back to the hotel and my room. Taking a nap and resting my leg on a bunch of pillows to make sure it got a proper rest in preparation of the concert. :-) Was good I did!

I’d located where the venue was before my nap, and it took about… 5-10 mins to walk there… with my limp, so it was very close to the hotel. :-) I got there around 5pm. I got a VIP Humanoid ticket, and had gotten the information that we’d be let in at 5:30pm. That didn’t happen…

Rumours went around that the boys had been late with the previous VIP people, which in turn made everything late… :-P

So we had to wait nearly an extra hour. Them Tokio Hotel boys are notorious for being late, aren’t they?

Anyway, so we got let in by a guy with a Humanoid sign over his head, and the only ones by the stage are those that had paid more money for a better VIP ticket. Meaning I got VERY close to the stage! YAY!

And then more waiting. We had to wait for 1½ hour there! Standing at about the same spot! o.O Can you IMAGINE how my leg was doing at that point?!?!? I couldn’t feel my toes, put it that way…

But all that was forgotten when the concert started! :-D It was GREAT! Yeah, there were a lot of songs from the Dream Machine album, obviously. And I don’t like that album very much. BUT! There were A LOT of songs from Kings of Suburbia as well, and that just so happens to be my favorite album of theirs! :-D And the Dream Machine songs were far better live, to be honest.

It really was a great concert. The mood in the audience was awesome. Singing along and dancing. Bill did a great job of keeping the mood up in the audience, ‘dancing’ around on the stage and engaging with the audience. So did Tom and Georg, when they were down from that tower-thing they were on.

Gustav was obviously stuck behind his drums, and they were a bit to the right side of the stage. I wouldn’t say he was hidden behind speakers, but it was a bit odd a placement. *shrug* I get what they were trying to do. Change it up on stage. And it did work. I just missed having Gustav in the center… But I’m biased. He IS my favorite after all. :-) And I managed to get a few good shots of him, so there’s that! Especially during the drum-solo he and Tom had, which was AWESOME! So glad I managed to film some of that. It was incredible. And the drumming he did in the beginning. Drummers I tell you… *sigh*

Anyway, after the concert was over, the guy with the Humanoid sign showed up again. We asked how long we had, and he said 15 mins. So I hurried like hell to buy a tour-tshirt for me and a tour-crewneck for [Bad username or unknown identity: ”omgwtfskittles”], since she’d asked me to. Then hurried back just in time.

I figured we’d have to wait somewhere since the Tokio Hotel boys were probably sweaty as hell from the show and needed a drink and yeah… You know? And I was right. We were lead out and to a corner in the stairs, where we had to wait. Gladly I could sit down in the stairs there, because hooo boy… My leg HURT at this point.

And again, waiting… Then we were ushered to another spot, to wait some more. This time right outside a pair of doors. And according to those that had been at the pre show M&G it had been there you got to meet them. I found a folded table to lean on to get some weight off my legs, which helped, and then we waited again.

Eventually we got let into a room, that I think was used as a bar even if it wasn’t right then. There were a little stage there with four chairs and in front of that chairs in rows for us to sit on. We got told our dos and don’ts. We could ask the TH boys anything we wanted, it was up to them if they wanted answer. Just be respectful. (Makes sense.) We were NOT allowed to take photos or film them during the Q&A. I get that. It would be hella annoying for the boys otherwise, I can imagine.

So the questions started to be fired off. I can’t remember all. Some of the fans there were taking notes. One asked about the nakedness and possible vag in one of their new videos, which Bill just said they wanted a lot of naked skin that video. Another asked Gustav how it was to be a father and touring. He answered that it was tough to be away from his little one and to miss her progress and development. Bless him. I totally get you, Gustav.

I got to ask a question to! :-D I asked how they felt about having fans that are so much older then them. Sometimes twice their age. Since I can be quite self conscious about that myself. :-P Bill answered that, and said they loved all their fans (obviously), and that it didn’t matter what age they are. And he said that that is the awesome thing about music. That it connects people regardless of age. Then he asked how old I was to ask such a question. So I said 40 years old. And Bill said that I can’t be 40 years old, since I certainly don’t look it! And the other three agreed with him. Well, I said it was true I am 40 years old and thanked him very much and pretty much died of happiness right there. *LOL*

After that it was time for photographs. So everyone had to stand in line and put their things away in one end of the big room, which we did. Quite a few of the girls went nuts and started fixing with their makeup and what not. I checked mine and made sure I didn’t have lipstick on my teeth, but that was all. After a concert where you sing and dance, you can’t help but be a bit of a mess. ;-)

Then a looooong line formed. Dude. The patience and professionalism of the Tokio Hotel boys is amazing. They looked just as happy with each and every fan that came up to them. And this was not the first VIP M&G thing they’d done. And not the last. After a long concert. Wow.

Eventually though it was mine turn. My goal was to get a hug from Gustav. He’s the drummer and my favorite. I wanted to tell him so, since I know for a fact he doesn’t have a huge amount of fans among the band-fans. First you were getting a selfie and then you got lined up with the boys for a professional photo. It was very quick, since they boys know what they’re doing.

My turn I walked up to them, heart beating. (They’re really real!) Gustav was closest and came over to show where to stand. So I told him. Said he’d been my favorite of the band for years (so very true) and that I thought he was amazing. (Wanted to say more, but nerves and time-restraint!) He gave me one of them WONDERFUL smiles and said thank you very much! It sounded sincere. Before me most girls had wanted selfies with just the twins, so the G’s had to step aside a lot. Or just Bill. And for the professional photo, they wanted to have the twins in the middle to hold on to them. Me? I asked if Gustav and Georg would mind being in the middle and in the selfie with me? Sure! they both said. And Gustav gave me half a hug leading me to the mark on the floor. (DEAD, guys! SO DEAD!!!) Then at first Georg and Gustav didn’t know who would take the selfie (Tom usually does when it’s the whole band or just him and Bill.) After a moment though, Georg took my phone and snapped a selfie with me standing in the middle of my favorite boys! (My heart was probably somewhere on the moon by that point.) Then the twins stepped in to and the professional photo was taken. Me in the middle with Georg on one side and Gustav on the other, hand somewhere near my back as far as I could feel. (Did I mention very dead?) And then the twins on each side of them. After that they thanked me for coming to the concert and I left to the next in line could go.

It was all very fast, but man oh man… GOAL REACHED! It was an awkward half hug, but I HAD GUSTAV SCHÄFARS ARM AROUND ME! That boy got MUSCLE, yo!

My leg was an achey mess as I limped over and got the gift that was included in the Humanoid VIP package. A Dream Machine poster with all them boys signature on. And a scarf that said ‘HIGH AS FUCK’ on it. Apparently that’s something Bill said at some point. I’m a bad fan. I’m not sure when, why or how. It’s a nice quality scarf though! Will be great for winter!

I hung out a bit afterwards, outside the doors, with some other fans. Among other a sweet girl that had kept me company in the line before the concert. It was nice to geek out and squee together with others that would understand, you know? So that was awesome.

Eventually though I came to the conclusion I needed to return to the hotel or I wouldn’t be able to walk at all… And I’d gotten very tired after all that.

So I limped, even slower, back to the hotel. And thanked my lucky stars it was that close. *lol*

And even though I’d taken pain meds and was tired, I was to wired to fall asleep right away. I think I spent an hour or two sitting on Twitter and Instagram, just posting photos and short clips from the concert. Just to wind down. :-) After that though, I was able to fall asleep.

Next day I had a lovely morning, just taking it easy in the hotel having breakfast and packing. Didn’t stress even a little bit. :-) I’d ordered a cab in plenty of time, so when I’d gotten to Stockholm Central Station I still had to wait nearly an hour for the train. Which was nice, actually. I like being on train stations.

So yeah, that was my trip to Stockholm and seeing Tokio Hotel live and meeting them. :-D

Here’s the selfie with Georg and Gustav:

Happy me with G's! )

And here’s the professional photo that was taken:

Happy me with ALL Tokio Hotel boys! )

I actually think I look sorta nice in them! The boys look perfect as always, but no surprise there!

My dear friend visiting me from New York!!!! (Image-heavy!)

Note: This post was written a few weeks ago, but I didn't get the photos uploaded until now...

And then there was the visit from New York. I still have a hard time believing they’ve really been here! o.O

I was a bit panicked before they came here, since I was supposed to work both days they were here, Friday and Saturday. Friday was no problem to take off, but the three hours for Saturday was a bit worse. Eventually we found someone that could help out, thank gawd… So I was off and available for both days! WOHOO!!

And I was SO NERVOUS! I mean, I’ve known [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni almost since I started to use my LJ, and man… that is a LONG TIME AGO! I didn’t remember how we’d meet, but Ruchi did, so she told me. :-) Apparently she’d ended up in an idiotic drama in a Xena community and I’d stood up for her and also gone to her LJ to say hi. Eventually we ended up friending each other and that’s how the story goes. I don’t remember this, but I’ll take her word for it. ;-)

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni is a vegetarian, so the Friday she and her best friend was to arrive, me and Alexandra started with a slow morning and then we went grocery shopping for vegetarian food. Once that was done, we went to the train station to pick them up.

See, they’d explored Sweden quite a bit before arriving to me. They’d been in Stockholm, the island Utö, Gothenburg and then me. For a history geek Stockholm is perfect. There are SO MANY museums there! You can learn quite a bit of swedish history in Stockholm alone.

Then they’d been to Utö which is a gorgeous island in Stockholms archipelago. And then they’d been to Gothenburg, which is the neighbouring city to Borås. So it was a short trip to Borås. And me. :-D

I was so nervous while we shopped me and Alexandra I had a belly ache. X-D Stupid, really. Like [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni says, we’ve known each other so crazy long we shouldn’t be nervous about meeting!

Alexandra thought it was fun to be at the train station and just wanted to go on the trains! Eventually they showed up though, and I gave [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni a great big hug. And it felt JUST RIGHT! Nerves just flew off of me.

And Alexandra started whining right away. Great… Figuring she was hungry we went home to my apartment first, where I cooked Alexandra food (definitely hungry at that point…) and [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni could explore my little home and I could get the groceries away. And we talked. Talked and talked and talked. Sara, [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni’s friend was very nice and waxed poetically about the swedish coffee!

We had a lovely time watching Disney Junior with Alexandra and making sure she got some food in her (and feeding Sara a swedish meatball).

Done with Disney and food, we went to the hotel where [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sara were staying, and Alexandra fell asleep and took a nap. GOOD!

Then we figured we could go downtown for a FIKA! Which we did, even going to mine and Alexandra’s favorite fika-place. You think Alexandra behaved? Alas no. She was IN A CRANKY MOOD! And was going to make sure everyone knew about it.

Cranky Alexandra is cranky... )

I’d thought we’d go exploring the Textile Museum after our fika, but Alexandra was having none of it. At that point, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was off from work and halfway home, so we went to pick him up and dumped Alexandra on him. (Sorry dear!)

Finally we could go to the Textile Museum, which was great! Even if we could only stay for a short time, since they were closing and all that, we still made the most of it. They have old clothes in a part of the museum that you can try on, which had [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sara go a bit nuts! Pulling me into the crazy we had a bit of a dress up session. *lol* Was a lot of fun! The exhibit they had going of a famous swedish designer was nice to, so I’d call that a successful visit.

Being silly in the Textile Museum! )

I think it was on the way back to the car that we checked out the University Library which is right next to the museum. [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni loved it and wondered loudly why they didn’t have libraries this nice at the universities in New York? Uhu… I wouldn’t know. X-D I thought New York University was a good one? *lol* And hey, you got New York City Library which is out of this world if I’ve done my research right. ;-)

Interior of the University Library in town )

Then we went home to my home again for dinner, which [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had cooked and it was DELICIOUS! Such a nice vegetarian stew! Alexandra was cranky again though (sigh) so she got the leftover meatballs from lunch.

The rest of the afternoon evening was spent talking. Talking, talking, talking. Both me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 are some serious history nerds, movie nerds and book nerds, so the swedish part of those subjects were definitely covered. (I’m still amazed how little you learn in the US about WWI and WWII…) Alexandra eventually went to bed, and we made MUDCAKE! And had an evening FIKA! (You can never have too much fika…)

New Yorkers in my couch! )

At one point during our discussions we discovered it was 1am in the morning! O.o OOPS! So I drove [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sara to the hotel making a plan for the morning.

And that concludes day 1!

Next morning we took a slow morning for Alexandra’s sake, but we still managed to head out at around 10am. First stop was the big city library where I used to work. Again, [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni waxed poetically about how nice it was. *lol* I loved seeing her walking around in the library among all the books. If ever there was a book nerd, it’s her. For serious. *grin*

Alexandra loves the library, so she was (for once!) in a good mood in the kid section checking out all the picture books. We found the book I bought for my brothers kids, the POP BOOK! X-D So I had a little story time there for Sara and [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni. It’s a kid book and kids LOVE to talk about pop! X-D

Exploring the city library and being booknerds of all sizes! )

After that visit we got in our little car and drove to my brothers. Which takes 1½ hours. And it’s a bit cramped in the car… But we made do, and we had some lovely discussions in the car to which made the car-ride feel shorter.

Once at my brothers, we found that he was enjoying the sun on the backside of his house, listening to music after he’d baked a cake. A MUDCAKE OF COURSE! This seems to be a running theme during their visit… I have to send them the recipe… *lol*

And as soon as [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sarah saw the cows grazing on the fields around my brother’s house, they got all excited and got in the field (past the barbed wire) to say hi to the cows. My brother, who works on a farm on a daily basis was a bit flabbergasted at this, but went with it. So we showed them a good way to get to the cows and my brother started talking swedish farming with [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sara since [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni is a vegetarian, so she was really interested. Swedish farmers have a TON of rules they have to follow, more so than many other countries apparently, which she found very interesting. :-)

Also, my brother had been an idiot and [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni went into Doc-mood and checked his eye since it was hurting him and got quite red and irritated. If you are doing any welding, people. Use protection. And don’t do like my brother who just closed his eyes. IDIOT!

After we’d eaten mudcake and said hi to cows and tried to get Alexandra to eat anything (impossible since she was still grumpy), we left my brothers and went to moms instead. My brother came with in his big huge car, a Ford Galaxy from the 1960’s, which [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sara rode in with him. On the way to mom’s we saw some elks/moose which got the New Yorkers all excited.

New Yorkers on the swedish countryside! )

At mom’s, Alexandra perked up a bit. She’d had a nap in the car, and hey… Grandma is always popular. :-)

More vegetarian food at mom’s, she’d made a full on dinner with some vegetarian beefs she’d found. ‘It looked interesting, I had to try!’ was mom’s reasoning behind picking that. They were made out of quorn and DAMN they were tasty! Even Alexandra ate quite a bit! So we were all stuffed after that dinner!

After that we walked around and explored my mom’s yard and grounds. The garage which still looks like when my dad lived. The playhouse dad built for use when where kids from scratch. The view. The woods where we used to play. Our neighbours, closest one where the daughter in the house was the one who started off my bullying. Basically I told and showed all the things that had meant something to me when I grew up. Mom walked around with us as well, and even though she’s not that good in english (she understands it well, but can’t speak it), she managed to throw in a small comment here and there anyway.

Since it started to rain when we’d walked around for a bit, we went inside again looking at all of mom’s pretty things (she likes to collect pretty things and decorate her home). Checking out where my room used to be and all that stuff while mom prepared a…. FIKA! :-D We also took the chance to say hello to all of mom’s four cats, including HUGE Ozzy that [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni fell in love with, I think… He’s a Maine Coon… and a BIG one! Currently weighing around 11-12 kilos, and he’s not fully grown yet… Insane!

Then we had FIKA downstairs. And talked. And talked and talked and talked. :-D Both mom and I agreed and told [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni she would be a WONDERFUL doctor one day, since she got her heart right where it should be. Mom should know. She’s 62 and has worked as an assistant nurse ever since she started working.

Alexandra just played with mine and brothers old toys while we were talking that mom has pulled down from the attic. We didn’t even notice how the time flew until it was 9pm or so in the evening, and we had a 2 hour drive to get back to Borås.

At my mothers to see where I grew up! And to be spoiled... )

While driving we continued talking and talking and talking… So the ride back to Borås didn’t feel that long as it usually does. We also made a plan for the next day so I could drive them to the airport. I insisted. It’s only a 30-40 min drive, so why shouldn’t I? And their flight didn’t leave until midday, so it was no problem really.

Dropping [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sarah off at their hotel we then drove home and once we’d gotten Alexandra to sleep in her bed instead of the car, we both collapsed in our bed.

Next morning was good and nice (with a kiddo not to cranky, wohoo!). Once I was ready I went to pick up [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and Sarah so we’d be at the airport at a good time before their plane left. Once at the airport we had a FIKA, of course. ;-) And talked some more. During the whole weekend I felt quite comfortable talking to [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni friend Sarah, since I’ve learned so much about her from [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni’s entries. And apparently [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni had talked to Sarah a lot about me to, so it went both ways. (It appeared as if it was only good things to! I hope at least…)

As it got closer to them leaving, we hugged a lot. Both me and [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni assured each other that we were very happy about finally getting to meet. And that YES! Apparently I was just what [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni had expected. And [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni? Well… She was just what I had expected. Just a 1000 times more so! :-) Such an awesome woman. Whoever ends up with her as a psychiatric doctor is going to be really fucking lucky! :-D

Once I’d dropped them off, I felt empty and sad. Already missing them. We talked and laughed so much my jaw was a bit sore. :-)

Such amazing women. Just… amazing. It still blows my mind that she’s been here. It really does. All the way from Brooklyn, New York City, USA to little Borås, Sweden. Amazing.

So happy to be able to call you a dear friend, [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni.

50 Days meme! Day Six and Seven! And a small workupdate....

I am determined to finish this meme, even if I am beyond late by now. I don't know, maybe someone will find it amusing to read?

Might add work is being as chaotic as ever and I'm stressing out like fuck about the anti-bullying project I run. :-P At least I've hired a lecturer now. So I take that as progress. And she seems really really nice. Very professional for her age. (Malin Engelbrektsson for those swedes interested.) Currently I'm mostly panicky about the fact that I'M supposed to go out and talk to the kids in class about MY experiences being a bullied kid growing up. And I want to! I really really do... But how the hell do you even start such a class? *shakes head* I'll figure it out eventually, I'm just stressing out at the moment. :-P

Also, getting back to posting on LJ. Yay? :-P

Right, let's finish this thing! Two for now!

DAY EIGHT: a photo of you taken recently

Here's me when I was working this summer, so I guess it's one of the most resent full figure photos of me. Excuse the crappy selfie and all, but yeah:

(Click for bigger.)

And this is also me, when being crazy while hanging with my young LARP-friends:

(Click for bigger.)

I hope that was for everyones satisfaction? :-)

DAY NINE: list some of your favorite websites

Livejournal (obviously), Bloglovin (where I keep track of other blogs), Bookcrossing, Tweetdeck (where I use Twitter), Sweden By Night (our LARP-site), Instagram, Plurk, Goodreads, Insanejournal (where I do RP), Tradera (where I shop used and/or new stuff and sell the same, works like Ebay), Dreamwidth (out of necessity), TokioHotelFiction.Com (for my pervy needs)...

All the days!  )

50 Days meme! Day Four & Five!

DAY FOUR: a photo of you taken over ten years ago

Oh, heaven help me... I had to dig deep in the confines of my computer to find this. I'm amazed I have such an old photo on a file even. This is probably right after I was in the USA. I was in the US from 1996 to 1997. So after that. I can pinpoint it since the bracelet tattoo looks very very new, and I had that made shortly after I'd been in the USA. So at least more than ten years, I'd say. At a friends apartment back then. A friend I don't hang out with any longer. :-P And no, I didn't use makeup back then. :-P

(If you for some obscure reason want to click this for bigger, you can...)

Also, if you end up becoming a mom, you're hair thins out. Nice knowing that, eh?

DAY FIVE: a letter to your crush

Dear crushes I had in school. I wonder sometimes if you even knew I existed? Apart from someone to push around and bully? Did you even notice that I never really minded that you did? That any attention from you was good? I wonder sometimes what happened to you. You guys were the stars of the school. Most girls had crushes on you at times. Some of you were the bad boys, and I know one of you have ended up in jail once. For raping a disabled girl, no less. Horrible a crime, and I can't help but wonder how you ended up there? You were one of the few that actually talked to me. That acted like a decent human being when we were in the school-bus together every morning and afternoon. As soon as your friends saw you though... Mask on, let's be a bad boy. And you? The other you that acted like a decent human being. You were the schools photo-model. I've seen you since. Only difference is a pair of glasses. You are still a gorgeous man, no longer a boy. I wonder how come you managed to resist the peer pressure and not bully me in school? Well, you didn't stand up for me either, but you never did anything to me. I doubt any of you noticed my crush... my hearts in my notebooks... How I took the school yearbook, found your photo and took a paper cutting out a hole for your face, so I could put it above the photo and just look at you? I wonder sometimes...

I am grateful though. Without all of you I wouldn't have found my true crush. Thank you, Peter. I didn't crush on you right away. No. You were a friend. A senior member of the Sexmasters* society. You were bold, loud and had the quirkiest humor I've ever heard. And... You didn't give a fuck what others thought. I loved that. Still do. So we became friends. You helped me A LOT when I ended up a full member of the Sexmasters society. I was swamped with work both for the society and for the university. And you and your friend helped me a lot. Apparently your friend figured out your crush on me before you did yourself... I am grateful for that to. A kiss against a wall... That was all it took. I've never crushed so hard or so fast on another person before! Like a lightning bolt! Gladly it had a happy ending and you ended up the love of my life. Thank you for staying with me. For surviving my quirks. And for being you.

/KSena

Alexandras LJ, life as I know it and crazy days...

YES!

I have finally gotten of my ass and updates now Alexandras LJ: Mini_Viking! I'll be updating near to every day unitil I am caught up!

So here's how far I've gotten this far:

Last post I did was in November: Sooo many photos! Of me! and Alexandra writing her own post. Part 1..

These are the posts I've done now in August so far:

I am an alive lil mini-viking! More photos from November!, December and Christmas!, Onwards! January and baptism and food!, February: tattooed mom & dad and cat-friends and food everywhere!, Time for what I did in March! and April!

Tomorrow I'll make an May-post. We still got plenty more photos to share! ;-) So go there and give a comment or two, eh? Feel free to friend that LJ as well!

ANYWAY!

So what I've been up to apart from updating pretty photos of my daughter? Not that much. Well, that is partly a lie.

This Tuesday me and Alexandra had A Bad Day. X-D

Usually during the nights I stay up to around 1:30-2am. Which works better than you'd think since Alexandra sleeps until 8-9am. Which gives me 6-7 hours of sleep which is perfect for me. :-)

BUT! This Tuesday she first woke up at 4am. o.O I gave her some gruel, and she feel asleep again. Just to wake up at 5:30am. And refused to fall back asleep again. Play time, mom! URGH! Well, you got a kid, no choice, eh? So up we went and she played on the floor in the living room while I lay in the couch and talked to her and poked her belly as soon as she walked past. Which apparently was hilarious. :-) So all good so far.

At around 8am she started to whine and get a bit tired. So I tried giving her some porridge, which she didn't want. Instead, more gruel. Alexandra apparently really really loves gruel. After that, she was REALLY sleepy, so I let her sleep and then put her to bed for nap-time, hoping it would be a long one so I could nap to.

So I went to my own bed. I have our baby-monitor right next to it so I can hear if Alexandra wakes up. And then I feel asleep to.

At 11:20am we both woke up. After about 4 hours of sleeping. X-D Talk about nap!

But the day wasn't over. Oh, no, no...

I also had an appointment at 1pm with the nurse specialized in Asthma. So off we went! Might note that when me and the nurse decided on the time, we discused both 10am and 1am as possibilities.

Once there I am told I was supposed to be there at 10am. WTH!?! And the interesting thing is that this has happened once before. But what with the day I'd had up until then, I just threw up my hands in the air, and said OF COURSE this would happen to!

Right, so I got a new appointment (and I'll double-check it this time a few days before, mark me...). And then me and Alexandra went downtown to the nice park there, because dammit... I wanted to do something nice after that. She liked it though, got to crawl around in the grass, look at dogs there for a walk, trying to catch birds, socilize with other kids in the park... It was quite wonderful after the bad start of the day. :-)

Then we went to a café. I had food with me for Alexandra, so I feed her. And me? I had a piece of cheese-cake and mango tea. I think I deserved it. :-)

So that was our crazy day!

I've also hung out with Spicehobbit this weekend (before the terrible Tuesday) while Peting was at the LARP this Saturday. It was his turn, and he had a new character and the GM's had done some SERIOUS planning and it was quite special and awesome a LARP apparently. :-) So I am glad he got to go. Me and Alexandra and Spicehobbit played around on the floor and watched Disney Junior until it was bedtime for Alexandra.

After that we watched Supernatural! YES! At first we got the borrow the first 4 seasons from one of Spicehobbits workmates. But said (really nice) woman got sacked. Urgh. :-/ So no more fangirling at work for Spicehobbit and no more borrowing Supernatural for us. Instead I got season 5 + 6 from Spicehobbit as a birthday gift! :-D

So now we are watching season 5! We always watch the first two two and the last two episodes together, then we let the DVD-box move between us, so to speak. I am now up to episode 11. And I keep saying, nah... The angst can't get much worse now. And then it does. *LOL* It IS a good show! Much, much better then I had thought. I keep getting pleasantly surprised, which is nice. :-) I doubt I'll start reading fanfic or anything... :-P I just don't feel it. But I do very much enjoy the show, that I will admit. :-)

Anyway, so we had a lovely time that Saturday!

Saturday coming up though, it's my turn to go to the LARP and I am SOOOO looking forward to it! I haven't been to the LARP in a long time. We both missed plenty during the summer, what with birthday parties, visits and vacations. But now summer is over, so business as usual again.

One of my dear young LARP-friends who I play very closely with came over and visited yesterday (Thursday) so we could plot and discuss LARP and such. It was AWESOME! Also, she loves kids so she was crawling on the floor playing with Alexandra as well. :-D Was a wonderful day! And now we have made plans for our characters and I am seriously itching for Saturday to come around! :-D

But before that I have boring RL stuff to deal with. Like plan for Alexandras introduction to daycare. Deal with paperwork of DOOM from the employment office and the unemployment fund. And bills. Fun times.

URGH...

Over and out for now!

Vampire-LARP among expensive art...

First, thank you for all the nice words the other day. :-) Always happy to hear I am a good sister! I do try to be. My brother is one hell of a brother to. We are just very very different from each other. And now when it is his turn to go through some tough times, I do try to be there for him. I really am. He is a wonderful man, my brother, so... :-)

Anyway.

Wanted to write about the LARP I was at yesterday. We still do the same thing. The LARP is every other week. And me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 go to every other LARP each. Which means I get to LARP once a month. :-) Works brilliantly!

And I was lucky this time. Because it was my turn to LARP last night. And it was a special edition LARP, sorta. Because we, the LARP-club/society got invited to LARP at the art-museum here in town. With people that had never LARPed before. :-D

Just... wow... What an experience that was! Even though it failed somewhat at start, since communication from the GM's failed epically. They hadn't given us the information that they should. Ugh... But once the LARP started, I had SO MUCH FUN!

My character had been tortured as a punishment earlier, so she sported half a Glasgow smile... I got help from a friend with doing the makeup for it, but I gotta say... it turned out WAY better then I thought! She is really good at doing makeup like this... She only used a little bit of liquid silicone, a red lip-pen and some eyeshadow to create this:

Frida Wagner sporting half a Glasgow smile... )

I'll have to keep up that makeup now, even though it'll be less red the next time, since it'll be more healed then. It'll stay though. My character COULD heal it away, but since her mistress allowed it to happen and gave her blessing, my character will keep the scar to remind her... unless she is forced to heal it. Could happen. We'll see, I guess. :-)

Anyway, she managed to piss off the most powerful vampire in the city by calling him a 'Fucking pig!' (and it wasn't even planned!), annoy her mistress and her mistress's lovers, possibly getting another lover (which would be the third one!), nearly flying into a violent rage (twice!), and possibly getting new friends...

It was a very special event, I gotta say. To be able to play your character in such a setting. The art museum was open after hours especially for this. The Curator was there. A lovely women who had never in her life LARPed before either, but joined in as well! And she was REALLY good! When I asked her after wards if she'd had fun, she said she really did. And she hoped this could happen again!

Dude. I really hope so. LARPing is so so much more then people think.

I was eating and hanging out with our youngest members in our break (we always have a break at around midnight). Those three girls are only 16, struggling with school and bullies and all that. And we talked about LARPing and what it has given us, apart from great friends of various ages. And the girls pointed out that they have grown, A LOT! They got a lot of self-esteem from this. They dare to put their foot down when the bullies come running, telling them to fuck off pretty much. They dare to stand up in front of the class and hold a presentation without blushing. They dare to hold a discussion in front of the class. To show what they can do. That they are good at what they do. That they are worthy some attention as well.

You can't be shy when playing a 200 year old vampire. So you fake it. And then, all of a sudden, you don't have fake it anymore. :-) And all the friends they've gotten, so many different people, have helped to. :-)

I was very happy to hear that. I've seen it before. I've done this since 2001. There has been many, many people younger then me that has joined our LARP club/society since then. And they've all grown as people beyond belief.

LARPing is awesome. And that is that. :-)

In conclusion, my Saturday evening/night:
  • Meet up at 4pm in the afternoon, fixed up our usual place where we always LARP.

  • Left at 5pm to the museum.

  • Started LARPing at 6:30pm.

  • LARPed until 11pm.

  • Break-time! Fixed food and went back to our usual place.

  • Started LARPing again at 00:30am.

  • Kept it up until 4am.

  • Helped cleaning up and such after wards, drove my young 16 year old friends home.

  • Got home, got rid of makeup and clothes without waking up [livejournal.com profile] peting73 or Alexandra.

  • Checked time. 5am.

  • Collapsed in bed.

;-)

Week from HELL! And baptism, finally...

I AM ALIVE!

Oh geezes what a week... o.O

And when I say I am alive, I say barely... Or at least that's how it feels like. Christ on a bike... Both me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 has been sick. Like, REALLY sick... I've been feeling ill, wanting to puke, weak body, fever... you name it... for an entire week.

And, of course, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 got it to. Me? Sleep? HA HA HA HA HA HA! No. I got TWO whole sleep in mornings this week while we've been sick. TWO! Count them. TWO!!!

Of course, taking care of Alexandra has been a priority, but you know... I thought we were two about that. Every morning when she has woken up (around 7am or before), I've gotten from [livejournal.com profile] peting73s corner of the bed... "I'd rather not..." EVERY TIME! (Well, except those two mornings.) Dude, I'll strangle anyone using those words now, I swear... We had a fight about it at 5am in the morning when Alexandra had an early morning one day. All he wants to do when not feeling any good is lay flat on his back... "hen we got better, we talked it out. Alexandra is not just my responsibility. She is his daughter to. If we're both sick, we gotta take turns. One more round like this, and I don't know what I'll do. I swear...

On a happier note, on the 19th of January we baptised Alexandra! :-)

Alexandra Yvonne Linnea... :-D Beautiful names, right? My mom has Linnea as a middlename, and [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom has Yvonne as a middlename and well... Since they both ROCK as moms AND as grandmoms and both will mean TONS to Alexandra since both her grandfathers are out of the picture... it felt like a good idea. :-) They were both quite touched by it to. :-)

Here's a photo of me, [livejournal.com profile] peting73, Alexandra and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit at the church. And yes, that is the ancient baptisimal gown that Alexndra has on. :-)

(Click for bigger.)

That lace/tulle is over 100 years old... Scary to think about. But it held together! And Alexandra was really good during the whole thing!

Here's a better photo of that dress. :-) Alexandra in the arms of my best friend and now officially Alexandras godmother [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit.

(Click for bigger.)

She'll grow past [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit in no time though! *grins* Both me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 are very tall, while she is very short... So chances are Alexandra will be very tall to... :-) Time will tell, I suppose. :-D

Now it's time for bed here though. Maybe I'll get better at updating here now, who knows?

Birthday party! Cupcakes! Macarons! And photos! :-D

I must say, i had SUCH a wonderful birthday party this Saturday. :-) So, so happy how it turned out in the end. I didn't think that many would come, since most of my relatives say it is to long a drive to go here. Yeah, it takes about 1½ to 2 hours, but at the same time they expect us to go there all the time "because it is easier..." Anyway, hence I didn't know how many would show up.

But most of them came! o.O I was very surprised and so so happy they did. :-D Good thing I'd had [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit help me make macarons and cupcakes... And then [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had made three really epic lasagnas that we offered those that came during the day.

Of course, my mom showed up quite early, and she helped me to orginace all the macarons and cupcakes according to [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbits instructions. To say we had a blast and made a mess of the kitchen would be an understatement! X-D But the cupcakes and the macarons turned out great! I got a really really beautiful oil-painting from mom that she had bougth from a local artist. So gorgeous. Very colourful with tulips on it. Will fit perfectly in our livingroom, that has the most colourful wallpapers. :-) And of course... She'd warned me that she'd just bring a lil something for Nerd Jr... Yeah. Right. A whole bag full. *head-desk* She is hopeless...

My MIL showed up after that... also with just a lil extra for Nerd Jr... X-D Hopeless grandmas are hopeless... Anyway, she got me a beautiful necklace that she'd gotten at a craftstore by Torpa Stonehouse. Made of black volcanic stone... Simple and really cool! :-D All handmade! So that was a wonderful wonderful gift!

One of my uncles on my dads side of the family (not the farmer) showed up with his family. Even my cousin C, who I hadn't seen in a while! :-D He is SO awesome my cousin! The sweetest guy, but with one HELL of a wicked sense of humor... Not to mention he stands 6.5 feet tall and is both broad shouldered and muscular (shoe size 48-49 EU aka 15.5 US or 13 UK). He is very handsome, but not many believe me when I say he is a sweetheart. I was very touched he put his big body in a car and actually took the time to come visit me. :-) It was wonderful, and it was such a laugh to sit here and talk to him! His wicked sense of humor though, he got from his mom... my uncles wife... Phew! I would hate to get into an argument with her! *lol* Good thing she loves me. ;-) She even offered some awesome hand-me-downs to Nerd Jr, so I do look forward to the mail in the next couple of weeks. :-) As a gift I got some really pretty orchids. I love orchids. It's the only flowers that I can get to survive, and really grow and bloom.

We all more or less gorged ourself on that awesome lasagna. SO so delicious... Seriously. When it comes to food, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is really gawd damn epic.

After that, [livejournal.com profile] peting73s aunt with family came over. Including his cousin, of course, who panics when meeting cats or any other animal, so we locked our cats in our bedroom so she could come in to. :-) No problem. Our cats are pretty chill with that. Always, when there is birthday parties and such, his cousin goes all excited but that's OK. You're supposed to at such parties, right? ;-) I got one awesome cookbook from her, and also from his aunt, I got a wonderful Mickey Mouse charm to my Thomas Sabo bracelet from them. :-) Disney... can never go wrong with Disney-gifts for me. I love Disney! :-D

When they'd shown up, we loaded the table with all them cupcakes, macarons and the sponge-cake I'd made myself... not to mention the awesome cinnamon buns that mom had made "just for the hell of it" as she said herself. It filled the table. X-D

While we gorged ourself on everything (It was so SO delicious!) my brother and his family showed up to! Perfect timing! His kids are a bit wild and not used to being in an apartment much, but they were quite well behaved. Approving of Nerd Jr's room, and playing around in the couch... Later on I let them play online on sites for kids on my computer which was a huge success! Apparently, I am a cool aunt. *lol* I got a bigger necklace from them, simple, but still quite stylish with black simple stone in it. Nothing fancy, but still nice. :-) And more orchids! :-D

We all hung out and just ate and ate and ate from all the cupcakes, macarons and the spongecake. Oh my GOSH! And we talked and laughed and told jokes and memories and it was just all around awesome. People left and such a little at a time.

When nearly all had left (except mom, she spent the night), my aunt (mom's sis) and her husband showed up as well! So we warmed the lasanga and had a lil evening snack on that before we gorged ourself on MORE cupcakes, macarons and spongecake! X-D I got quite a bit of cash from them, and I do consider using that as a starting point to save up for my next tattoo... :-) Feels like a pretty good idea, I'd say.

They stayed quite long, and after that me and mom cleaned up the place before we collapsed in bed, mom sleeping in the sofabed in Nerd Jr's room. :-)

It was one HELL of a day, let me tell you! Visitors all day, something I hadn't counted on, but damn if I didn't enjoy myself! [livejournal.com profile] peting73 helped a lot of course, since I don't have much energy and have a big belly. :-P And good thing he did! Or my awesome birthday party would not have succeeded! :-)

Have some photos of all them epic cupcakes and macarons [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit helped me do! I did the filling and frosting for them. :-) So it was a teamwork. ;-) I also made the big sponge-cake, that was filled with poppy seeds and lemon... and then there was a lemony white chocolate glaze on it. :-)

SO MUCH SWEET STUFF!!! )

Sorry about the sorta bad photos. I took them with my phone. :-P You can click them for bigger if you want. But it looks really lovely, don't it? Trust me, it tasted just as good to! :-D

Sunday me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 didn't do much at all. Just were lazy asses. We figured we deserved that. ;-)

Photos all over the place! My belly! Nerd Jr's room! And stuff!

This is going to be a photospam of some proportions, people... So prepare yourself! :-D

I've been asked several times for photos of my belly... and of Nerd Jr's room. So that's what I'll be sharing. :-D I just took some photos today, actually, after I'd finished off preparing various frostings for the cupcakes and the macarons tomorrow. :-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit should be proud. She made the cupcakes and macarons for me, and I've made the frostings and fillings. :-) I also made a huge spong-cake that I'll pour glaze over tomorrow. :-) I'll try to remember to take photos of the huge table filled with sweets tomorrow! :-D

ANYHOW!

Here's the little photo-spam of today.

Photos and such under here!  )

So now you've all seen our preparations and the room and my belly and all the stuff. :-) I know we've done a lot of preparations, but to be honest... it has been over such a long time, we haven't really thought about it. :-) We started to plan the room when we found out that the IVF worked and I was, in fact, pregnant. Then after a few months (early spring I think) we fixed the room up. And then we've just filled it with stuff a little at a time since. :-) Of course, mom and [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom has brought a lot of stuff to (mostly clothing), so we aren't the only guilty ones of filling the room up! *lol* I think Nerd Jr will be perfectly fine in that room!

And fun thing is, when [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was a young boy he and his mom used to live right here in this apartment! And Nerd Jr's room? Used to be [livejournal.com profile] peting73s boy bedroom! X-D Life has come full circle... *grin*

When you read this YOU'RE TAGGED! Take a picture of you in your current state, no changing your clothes or quickly putting on makeup. No photoshop!

And of course I read my f-list BEFORE putting on makeup. Bah! So yeah. This is me. Pre-makeup on a lazy day before I have to work in the evening. :-P

Oh the horror... )

I have no idea why I look all grumpy. :-P Taken with my phone, so not the best quality.

Last episode of season one of Game of Thrones was on last night. OH YEAH. I have words about that. But that'll be for another post. I hope my horrible face didn't scare anyone off. :-P

Vampires, vampires, vampires.... All I see is vampires! (Plenty photos!)

I have the weirdest cough right now.... If I start coughing I can't stop, so I do my damndest to not cough at all. Ever tried stopping a cough? It is NOT easy, but at the moment that is the best I can think off doing. :-P

And yes. Cough-drops and tea. I do my best, people. I do my best.

Oh, and I've updated the Invisible Children-post with more links with information on them if you care to read about it. I'll keep it constantly updated as soon as I see more information.

ANYHOW!

Remember how I promised to post photos of my old cool vampire that I played during the latest LARP? Well, a lot off stuff been going on and I've been tired and just... Blah, so. It hasn't been done. But here goes!

I played a Nosferatu vampire named Janus. Yes, after the old roman two-faced god. On the surface she kept up her look (stylish 1920's look with the help of vampiric powers) and was a diplomat with connections within the high sociaty. However, when she was off duty and wanted to relax, she puttered around with her hobby. She was very, very interested in anatomy... and the human mind. In other words, she liked to cut people up and see what they looked like inside and more or less torture people to see how they reacted. She found this very very interesting. But above all, she was a dimplomat. That was why her sire Zoran, who'd made her a vampire, had taken her to him after all. And she wanted him to approve off her, of course.

She also had a "brother" who was made a vampire before her, Rubio. Rubio, just like Zoran was a warrior, so she had little in common with the two. Zoran, despite being a warrior, was a visionary. He came to the city of Växsjö to take power of the city and make it a meeting ground for vampires where they can meet up, share stories and knowledge. And for this he brought his two childes, Rubio and Janus.

Of course, there was another really old vampire there to (around Zoran's age) that also wanted to take over Växsjö. So much of the LARP there was political intrigues, much meetings and such where Janus did her best to gather supporters for Zoran and talk those that didn't like him over to his side, as the diplomat she was. She ALMOST succeeded. Almost. But not quite. So in the end it ended up in Princes Duel. That is, the two who wanted power of the city aka name themselves the Prince of Växsjö had a duel. This annoyed Janus, since she preferred to talk things through peacefully, but she also knew that when it came to hand to hand combat there was near to no one that could beat Zoran.

And yes. Zoran won. And is now the ruler of Växsjö with Rubio and Janus by his side. So in the end, Janus came out on top since she now is the daughter of the Prince, which gives her quite a great deal of power...

So did I have fun playing this character? YES! So much fun! I am a very social person that likes to talk to people, so to play a character whose main idea it was to talk to people and make them friendly towards her and her family? NOT A PROBLEM! *lol* Of course, I failed some since it ended in a fight, but I'd still say it was a success. Janus was made into a vampire 1780, so she was also the oldest and most powerful vampire I'd ever played! So that was AWESOME as well!

Right then. PHOTOS!

I first bring you [livejournal.com profile] peting73 as his character. Johan, a maffioso that was made into a vampire 1980 or so... So a really, really young character. He was really slimy to showing off his hairy chest, having gold chains around his neck, sleeked back hair and trying to talk people up... So awesome! X-D Considering [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is the oldest of the LARPers and probably the biggest to, he kinda freaked people out a bit with his slimy character. It was AWESOME to see! Such a laugh! And he said plenty times he had so, so much fun playing the character to!

Johan the maffioso vampire... )

Sexy ain't he...? *smirk*

Then for Janus family. This is Zoran. He was made into a vampire somewhere between 1200 and 1400... So a really REALLY old vampire. And the entire family was Nosferatus, a cursed clan of vampires. Meaning they are very VERY ugly (monstrous really), unless they use their vampiric powers to hide said fact. Zoran... didn't hide it.

Zoran the elder vampire... )

Zoran was played by one of our newer players, and he was so SO nervous about playing such an old powerful vampire. But I must say, he did a brilliant job! So good, and so creepy when he wanted to be! :-D Mayor props for that!
Looks cool doesn't he? He had gloves on that looked like he had red claws, and he had painted his entire face and neck with black/red paint. The coat is really cool to! It is made by another LARPer that he used years, and years ago. For some reason he kept it, and now it got used again!

And then there was Janus "brother" Rubio. :-) The muscular warrior...

Rubio the warrior vampire... )

Yeah, I've played together with this young guy before... He's the one that studied martial arts for about a year or so in China... A real sweetheart, so nice. And so fun to play with! I've played the mistress to one off his older characters, and let me tell you that was fun! :-D He is probably 10-15 years younger then me, but who gives a fuck? It is just a LARP! And now he played my characters OLDER brother! X-D And he is ALWAYS so good! I doubt he can play evil though, since his own kindness always shines through. ;-)

And then is Janus... She is just as ugly as her "father" and "brother" but being a diplomat and hanging around humans a lot, she has learned how to use her vampiric powers to hide her disgusting ugliness... So here goes.

Janus the diplomatic vampire... )

That was full-figure with the dress, stockings and all...

Sitting in a chair...

1920's look... )

You can ALMOST see the 1920's waves in the hair that [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit helped me fix... And a little bit of the makeup to. :-) Not to mention the AWESOME jewelry she let me borrow!

A bit better a closeup...

Closeup off jewelry and makeup... )

I adore that jewelry seriously...

I've never been good at doing those eyeliner "wings", so I asked [livejournal.com profile] _devilcandy_ to help me with that, which she gladly did! She awesome, but she has moved away from here now, so we don't meet her that much, sadly. :-P But she came especially for this LARP and spent the night in our sofa-bed! Oh, and she always looks epic when she dresses up as a vampire! Much more so then me. :-D

Insanity looks good on you? )

Helene Bonham Carter on crack? Well, [livejournal.com profile] _devilcandy_ DID play an insane vampire, so I guess... *lol*

We all promised [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit to post photos from the LARP since she helped us with hair and ideas for outfits, so... I blame her totally for this photo-spam. :-) I hope you enjoyed at least a little?

Whenever my cough is gone, I am going to make that voice-post where I read in swedish. :-) Until then... Laters!

New Years Eve! And such....

First though, for you that have a hate for the new look of the comments? Here is a fix of sorts if you want to put some work into it:
LiveJournal release 88 tweaks

I know some of you on my f-list might be interested in that. :-) See, I am not a total ass? I can agree to disagree, and then give linkage and help. ;-) I really hope that will help some of you guys that don't like the latest changes to LJ.

Rightoh! So, New Years Eve.

I suppose at the end of the year/beginning of the new one your supposed to go though the year that has gone by and comment on it? Hmm...

I worked a lot during 2011. At various libraries. My 'career' if you wanna call it that has taken off quite a bit during this year, which is good. I couldn't stay at the little school-library at the troubled school, which was a shame. I'd finally gotten to get closer to all them troubled kids there, and they I was ripped away from it. Sad thing. And nothing I can do about. After that I was doing work here and there, but not much. And then... I gathered some courage around me and went to the big city library and asked if they needed someone to work by the hour there to? Clearly a good move, since the end of 2011 has been quite insane. I've worked A LOT there! And it seems like I will for quite some time yet in 2012... So that's good. :-)

The unemployment funds have been ASSHOLES this entire year. I keep sending them the paper-work they ask for, and then I get back that oh, that paperwork that was the EXACT thing we asked for? It's not enough. It looks wrong. It doesn't compute with our info in our database. You have to send it again. And again. And again. And again... And so on and so fourth. *sigh* Sometimes I really, really have a hate for bureaucracy. :-/

Family wise, mom made that gastric bypass, which was a scary thing, but in the end it ended up being the best thing ever for her! She has really changed this year, and to the better! I am so fucking proud of her. My brother has been his ever awesome self. He works his butt off for his family, basiclly. Being a farmhand is tough work, if you didn't know it. And then, after hours, he helps my Uncle who runs the family farm. And makes sure he has time for his two kids. Who are both adorable, might I add. Yes, I admire my brother quite a great deal. He is one AWESOME man, and I sometimes feel like I am the younger sister, even if it is in fact HE that is four years younger then me. :-)

What about 2012? [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and [livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles had these questions posted in their LJs, so I took the liberty to copy them. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni What did you accomplish in 2011? What did you do? How did you feel? What was the best part? What was the worst part? How can you repeat the best part and avoid the worst?

Think I already answered that. :-) My biggest accomplishments must be that I actually got a TON of my self confidence back when it comes to my job, my profession. I CAN do this. I am GOOD at this! :-D And that is pretty damn awesome. I am going to work on more of that for 2012.

[livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles what are your wishes/hopes/resoultions for the new year?

My biggest wish... That I'll be the best I can be when it is required off me during 2012. That is my greatest wish. :-) *cryptic*

During our actual celebration of New Years Eve, it was just me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73. We stayed at home. Watched the four first Star Wars movies, since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is SUCH a Star Wars fanboy right now (he has bought Star Wars: The Old Republic and plays it daily).

We have this tradition really. We stay home, in our sweatpants and t-shirts. Watching movies and eating nice food. :-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit joins us some years, but this year we had our nerd-newyears all by our selfs. :-)

And the food the man cooked... GUH! o.O Four course meal...

First course was a LOVELY mushroomsoup with crawfish. SO TASTY!
Yummy soup! )

After that we went for the main course, which was... crocodile meat, potatoes made in the oven and Béarnaise sauce. OMG! So good! And crocodile meat, that I've never eaten before? Tasted somewhere between fish and chicken. Odd, yes. But VERY nice!
Crocodile meat... Yum! )

Then we had dessert, which consisted of white chocolate mousse with a hint of lime.
Mmmm... Chocolate... )

And lastly, with coffee and cheering in 2012, we had [livejournal.com profile] peting73s famous caloric punch cake. Oh my gawd! IT IS SO FUCKING TASTY! It is down right orgasmic. And he refuses to tell me the recipie. Secret, he says. Can't even be in the kitchen when he makes it. :-P Well, as long as he makes it for me with some regularity, I am happy!
Caloric punch cake! )

After that and four Star Wars movies, we gave up and went to bed, surprisingly early at around 1am. :-)

So in conclusion it has been a GREAT 2011 and a GREAT New Years Eve!

The Makeup photo-meme!

I am aaaaall about the memes these days, aren't I? First you had to live with listening to my terrible voice, and now you have to look at what I look like. Without makeup. I feel sorry for you. *lol*

Anyway, this is going around at the moment. Take photos of yourself as you prepare yourself for the day kinda deal... So here is my take. This is what I do. After my shower, that is. :-)

Makeup meme photos follows now! (If you for some reason want to see them bigger, the photos are clickable.)

KSena throwing on makeup... under here... )

Aaaaand... since we are on the subject, I saw a vid that [livejournal.com profile] velociraptorx posted in her LJ where her friend shows how you can make your boobs look better then fake boobs... I am actually considering trying her tricks. *grins* I mean, it can't harm? Right? ;-) I must say she is really funny and quirky, so it is worth watching the vid for that alone. :-)

How to trick people into thinking you have big boobs.. )

Good gawd... Now I feel girly... How scary... *shudders in discomfort*

My dear darling cat!

My poor baby cat...

If you follow my Twitter, you might have seen me tweet about how worried I was for my baby last night.

Around 11pm yesterday Verdandi started growling and hissing out of nowhere. Now, both off our cats are very silent. They might mew silently now and then, but very seldom and just to let us now that 'Hello! I am here! Pet me?'. So when Verdandi started growling and hissing (something I've never heard her do), I figured something was really wrong, and my heart jumped up my throat.

Sitting down on the floor I talked to her and petted her and tried to figure out what was wrong... She continued to growl and hiss at me. Wanting to keep my skin firmly in place, I was quite careful. Our cats have all the claws left (I am firmly against de-clawing or cutting the claws of cats), so if she got pissed enough at me, there would be blood...

Since Skuld and Verdandi are indoor cats, I couldn't figure out what she could have done? I mean, we've made sure our apartment is very VERY cat-friendly. Carefully feeling over Verdandi, it was clear the front of her body was not a problem. She got nuts when I touched the back of her body, but I couldn't figure out if it was her legs or her stomach...

Cue me being worried as hell until [livejournal.com profile] peting73 came home. When he did, we both talked and cooed over Verdandi trying to figure out what was wrong using both our brains. It seemed as one of her hind legs was the problem... And when we urged her to move, we saw a slight limp.

Right. So today our girl has been to the vets for a check up. I was nervous as hell until she got home. Apparently she'd somehow pulled a muscle, straining it. o.O I didn't even know cats could DO that! Especially not an indoor cat who doesn't move around quite as much as an outdoor cat... So now she got painkillers especially for cats that will also prevent any swelling. And she is doing much better, even if she doesn't wanna move around much, and goes all hissing and growling if one tries to pick her up. I am mostly leaving her alone, so she can rest.

Typically enough this happened on the busiest day of the week for me. :-P I worked from 8-12am at one library and then 2pm-6pm at another library. *head-desk* Luckily [livejournal.com profile] peting73 didn't start work until 1pm, so he could take Verdandi to the vet... Safe to say though, I was very distracted at work today.... I might not write about my dear darling cats Skuld and Verdandi often, but they are seriously my babies... I love them to death and was so, so worried about Verdandi today. When I got home for some lunch mid-day today, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was off to the vet with Verdandi, leaving Skuld home alone when I got there... She was totally confused. She has never been without her sister and clearly missed her even that short amount of time. So I took some extra time cuddling Skuld today... She is usually more attached to [livejournal.com profile] peting73, but I guess today I was sufficient. :-)

Gawd I love them two black furballs... *sniff*

Party with friends, work at big library, and the cramps from hell... Plus photos!

I haven't updated about my Saturday! Fail on me! *lol*

Yeah, it was AMAZING! SO MUCH FUN! :-D [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and I had the best plan EVER! X-D We were to cook food together, drink delicious cider (picked out to us by [livejournal.com profile] peting73) and watch the movie Thor. And that was just what we did! :-D

Lovely, lovely food... Chicken with a peanut butter and coconut milk sauce... SO MUCH YUM! And then we drank a french and a british cider with that. :-) And watched Thor... And nearly laughed so hard the food got caught in our throats. X-D IT WAS SO FAILTASTIC, MY GAWD! Brothers, my ASS... They probably fuck like bunnies... X-D You COULD say the slash went through the roof and once we watched the extra deleted scenes it went straight to the stratosphere. X-D Geezes CHRIST! Was the scriptwriters even aware of what they wrote? Probably not since they took a bulldozer and went straight over everything known about old Nordic Mythology. There was not a single thing right there, at all.

The best part of this failtastic movie though, was... the actor playing Thor himself. Both me and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit was pleasantly surprised. He was not only a real HUNK! But was quite a nice actor to with some really AMAZING eyes... Not to mention watching the usually so serious Stellan Skarsgård be drunk off his ass is always a plus!

So it wasn't a total loss. ;-)

Some photos!

Friends and food! )

After that we went downtown to find a good club and dance our ass off! And that we did. There is a club downtown called Brasseriet where there is this excellent mix of people, all from the age off 18 to the age off 60!

So that's where we went, and we danced and we laughed and we looked at people and we danced some more and we bought two drinks more and we danced some more... I ran into a an co-worker from the horrible job I had once, who was ecstatic to see me telling me how gorgous I was! That is always awesome to hear. :-)

And [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit ran into this really nice (and cute!) guy who she talked to quite a bit... ;-) Phone-numbers were exchanged, but that is all I know... For now. :-D Keeping my fingers crossed though!

Then we stumbled home to [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbits apartment, and I slept on her sofa bed.

It was really a brilliant, brilliant Saturday!

Coming home on Sunday I found out that [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had had an awesome impromptu October fest as well! :-D He had his mates had been drunk off there asses and played games and talked and listened to music... "Manly music..." or so [livejournal.com profile] peting73 says. Don't know what that means totally... X-D Important thing is they had fun, really... and the apartment was looking just as nice when I came home as it did when I left, just with added bottles in the kitchen. :-)

Rest of Sunday me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 just took it easy and didn't do a thing, because you know... We were tired. He he he...

As you can see on the carnage after [livejournal.com profile] peting73s party here:

Beer-bottles! )

Anyway, then came Monday and my first day at the big city library downtown, or evening since I worked from 3pm-8pm. My gawd. It is so, so different then working in those smaller neighborhood libraries or the school libraries... I was even asked what the difference was by a librarian there, while working putting up books in the shelfs. And, as most of you should know, if you ask me something you get a straight answer. So I told her. The biggest difference is that you don't get the same connection with the visitors like you do in a smaller library where you usually get to know them by name and know exactly what books they like to read. The librarian asking me, told me that this was not a conversation we should have here where anyone could hear about the inner workings about the library... (Like it was such a great secret...) I just looked at her, and said... You asked.

Just saying, if you don't want a straight answer, you really shouldn't ask me a question. :-P

Anyway, it was fun if a bit confusing to work there, let me tell you! And I keep getting more hours there, so I suppose I did something good. :-)

Tuesday the writer Mattias Gardell came visiting the library talking about his new book Islamophbia. And wow... Just... wow... He hit so many important points in that book, my gawd... And now I want to see the Iranian TV-show Sara and her five men... about an Islamic woman and... her five men. *lol* I'd love to see that, my gawd! And did you know there is a goth and rock movement among young woman and girls in Irak and Iran and other Arabic countries, complete with shawls and everything? This is so awesome, I don't even... Everyone should read that book, just saying...

ANYWAY! I had the job to make sure that everyone coming had a ticket to see him, and I got a lot of kudos on how I dealt with that responsibility. Really, it wasn't that hard for me from all the times I've done jobs like that and worse working at the Student Union Pub. *lol*

Then Wednesday and today Thursday I had no job, so I've spent that time at home, hoping to be able to relax. HA! No such thing, since I woke up with a achy throat and my period started so I was knocked out by menstrual cramps. DAMMIT! Well, better I get these problems now, instead of next week... Because next week I work 6 days! o.O Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! o.O Plus on Saturday evening we are going to visit my brother since he and his wife are celebrating their combined birthday! They have both turned 30 this year! ACK! Busy times!

Being slightly sick, I haven't had energy to do much else then sit here and read... So I've read up on all the FQF-fics (there has been some really nice stories with the G's this year! so glad to see they haven't been forgotten. :-) ) and I've read up on my F-list to. :-) Go me! I've seen a lot of my friends on my f-list going through some really tough times... I am so sorry to read that, and I want you to know I do think of you all...

Right. This turned long. Go you if you managed to read it all!

What the?!?!?!? What a day!!!!

Now this has been a GREAT day! :-D Not only did it start off awesomely with the epically porny dream I had... Oh no... Didn't end there.

The library where I used to work, called me around 10am and asked if I could come in and work some extra hours. No problem! 11am to 3pm. Yep, yep... So off I went and got ready to do that. While doing that, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 said that they would probably ask me to stay on a few extra hours more then that... We both know how they work over there, but I didn't think they would ask me to today... Well, I was wrong since around 2pm... they asked if I had any plans today (I didn't) and if I could stay until 4pm. One more hour of work! No problem! So [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was right. Which will amuse him, I am sure. ;-)

When I got home though, the real surprise started....

Opening the mail box, it was stuffed... With two envelopes. From the USA. Cue me go: WHAT? o.O

Taking them up to the apartment I put them on the table:

Mystery packages... )

A big one, and a small one.... I did recognize the names when looking closely and thinking a bit, but the big one I had NO clue why I got and what on EARTH it could be in it?!?!

Figuring I should save the surprise for last, I started on the smaller one that I figured had to be from [livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles and the phone-cases she made for us. :-) And indeed it was! And they are fucking EPIC! :-D So awesome! And so us!

Wicked mobile-phone cases! )

Pretty aren't they? :-D I promised [livejournal.com profile] peting73 he could pick first. :-) So I don't know which one is going to be mine yet. But it's cool. I think they are both pretty awesome. ;-)

THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH FOR MAKING THESE FOR US, [livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles!!!!!

Then it was time to empty the BIG envelope/package...

... and this feel out, having me go What the...? (Emma is my real given name, btw...)

Pile of stuff! )

Digging through the pile I found a letter from [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni one of my oldest friends here on LJ. And Ruchi? You nearly managed to do what not many has.... You nearly had me in tears, woman... What the hell? WHAT A GIFT!!!! Your letter... the things... the THOUGHT you put into every little thing in there... My gawd.... There are no words... A literal treasure chest. I love you. You are such a beautiful gorgeous and caring woman... Zach should be so bloody happy to have you in his life... As should your... interesting... mother be. This was such a thoughtful thing to do. Hell, I had forgotten I gave you my address! X-D So this was a real surprise!

And spreading it out, this... this is what was in the pile:

A serious treasure.... )

From top left: A bookmark filled with various cocks in classical art! (That is so me, Ruchi, I KNOW! X-D) A funny postcard from Pompei. A postcard from the Hitchcock museum (Yep, I do like him very much...). A postcard of Leonardo Da Vincis helicopter. A postcard from Riomaggiore. Ruchis letter (I was sniffling reading it, I swear to anything holy...).
A miniature-sign from Brooklyn (so awesome! I can still sleep on your couch, right?). Some jewelry from India, earings and two bracelets (that you can't really see here, dammit! But it is very pretty, I must say... and will be used! When I do dress up, I dress up to the nines! Will look great with my suit. ;-) )
Center piece: A classic I <3 NY t-shirt! (Man, that is so cool! X-D) Next to it: A wall-calender with cats from Rom... (I adore cats... I really do. And these feral cats were so so gorgeous... Gorgeous photos in that calender.)
Bottom left: A kitchen magnet with New York City and the Statue of Liberty. A little notebook with my name on it, Emma, and a view of the Vatican (I might be an athiest, but I want to go there one day...) And lastly, a postcard from Sydney cut in two (now this one puzzles me... but I do remember your journey there, and me eagerly awaiting news...)

And the t-shirt? It fitted perfectly...

Fail-photo in the mirror! )

Woman. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!? What did I do to deserve such a literal TREASURE chest sent to me?!? MY GAWD! So much in here that reminds me of you... of your journeys... your hardships... our discussions... Geezes... I... I really don't know what to say....

Kisses for my bitches...

Fallout LARP 2011: Photos and shit! :-D

I've been meaning to post this for a few days... But since the internet has been down since Sunday... I haven't been able to. :-P ANYWAY!!! Here comes the HUGE first post about the Fallout LARP this year. :-)

I HAD SO MUCH FUN, PEOPLE!!! :-D It was the best LARP I have EVER been to! Wow... Just... wow... Before the LARP I talked to J a bit about playing a couple... We've done it before, and we both have a seriously insane sense of humor... and he was all game for that, since it had started a little during the LARP last year anyway. So we did. AND HOLY SHIT!!! J is one insane LARPer... and skilled. So very, very skilled... And when he is plotting together with W? Things go even more insane... and then I got dragged into it. HOLY FUCK! I can't write anything about said story in an unlocked post though... Promised J not to. There is a lot of things that are mysterious and secret about his character still. Things that my character might be the only one that knows... Well, my character and two more. ;-) So the rest of the LARP is unawares... and he wants to keep it that way. :-D

So in this post... You'll only get photos. A SHIT-LOAD of photos! But still just photos. :-) If you want the whole story what happened to my character Katya Hollander, then go to THIS post and read the story. It is a loooong post, since a lot of stuff happened. But I think it is well worth a read. ;-) If you can't see the post, then ask for access and I'll friend you and make sure you can. :-)

If you wanna know more about the setting for this LARP, you can read about the game Fallout... It is the same setting. ;-)

Right! So! Photos! All photos are clickable for bigger!

Photos under here! )

The final countdown!
