Week from HELL! And baptism, finally...

I AM ALIVE!

Oh geezes what a week... o.O

And when I say I am alive, I say barely... Or at least that's how it feels like. Christ on a bike... Both me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 has been sick. Like, REALLY sick... I've been feeling ill, wanting to puke, weak body, fever... you name it... for an entire week.

And, of course, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 got it to. Me? Sleep? HA HA HA HA HA HA! No. I got TWO whole sleep in mornings this week while we've been sick. TWO! Count them. TWO!!!

Of course, taking care of Alexandra has been a priority, but you know... I thought we were two about that. Every morning when she has woken up (around 7am or before), I've gotten from [livejournal.com profile] peting73s corner of the bed... "I'd rather not..." EVERY TIME! (Well, except those two mornings.) Dude, I'll strangle anyone using those words now, I swear... We had a fight about it at 5am in the morning when Alexandra had an early morning one day. All he wants to do when not feeling any good is lay flat on his back... "hen we got better, we talked it out. Alexandra is not just my responsibility. She is his daughter to. If we're both sick, we gotta take turns. One more round like this, and I don't know what I'll do. I swear...

On a happier note, on the 19th of January we baptised Alexandra! :-)

Alexandra Yvonne Linnea... :-D Beautiful names, right? My mom has Linnea as a middlename, and [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom has Yvonne as a middlename and well... Since they both ROCK as moms AND as grandmoms and both will mean TONS to Alexandra since both her grandfathers are out of the picture... it felt like a good idea. :-) They were both quite touched by it to. :-)

Here's a photo of me, [livejournal.com profile] peting73, Alexandra and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit at the church. And yes, that is the ancient baptisimal gown that Alexndra has on. :-)

That lace/tulle is over 100 years old... Scary to think about. But it held together! And Alexandra was really good during the whole thing!

Here's a better photo of that dress. :-) Alexandra in the arms of my best friend and now officially Alexandras godmother [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit.

She'll grow past [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit in no time though! *grins* Both me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 are very tall, while she is very short... So chances are Alexandra will be very tall to... :-) Time will tell, I suppose. :-D

Now it's time for bed here though. Maybe I'll get better at updating here now, who knows?

You all look lovely! So warm and happy :D Alexandra has a beautiful name too, and I'm sure she'll wear it with pride when she gets older.

Congratulations on it and welcome back to the land of the living too :P

Yeah, it was a great day. :-) It really was. My planning could have been better, but in the end, what with mom and MIL being their awesome selfs, it all worked out and everyone had a great time!

Alexandra and her dress are gorgeous! How sweet they are at that age :) You and Peting look wonderful as well and your friend looks like one proud godmother!

As for Peting not getting up to look after Alexandra I have only one thing to say. MEN! Ugh! Why the heck do men revert back to children when they're sick? Can't live with them, can't live without them.

I'm glad you didn't kill him and he's still alive ;oP

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a really really gorgeous dress... And what with it's history, it is even more awesome, I'd say. :-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit takes her new job very seriously! Or not, depending on how you look at it... X-D She says she'll teach Alexandra everything she knows! I am not sure if I should be worried or not. X-D

Also... THIS! Why the heck do men revert back to children when they're sick?

Couldn't have said it better myself. :-P

OMG, she´s so big! I mean, I know babies grow; it is the idea, after all. *grin* But when you hold her she still seems kinda tiny. Yup, she´ll out-grow me in no time! :-)

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
And she is even bigger now! o.O It is insane how fast she grows... I get mom now when she says she sometimes can't keep to this day!

I'm glad you all survived the week from hell!

And thanks for showing some pics from the baptism. You all look very happy! :)

The gown looks beautiful! Cool idea too, I've never seen a baptismal gown made with two layers like that. (Not that I have seen all that many...)

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
We did survive, if barely... Peting, however stayed in the doghouse for a LOOOOONG time after that, mark me...

And thank you for kind words and all!

You haven't seen a double-layered one? Odd... Most of the ones I've seen have been double-layered. Mine was to, but it was a lace layer and a pink layer that mom made herself. :-)

[identity profile] astroflammante.livejournal.com 2013-03-06 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd say he deserved it...

And the gown; I haven't seen all that many, as I said. The ones I have seen have been a single layer, with embroidery. And one with ribbons that was supposed to be changed every time it was used. Can't have a baby girl wear something with blue on it, oh the horror! (I'd be tempted to just say fuck it and put green ribbons on it...)

Oh dear! That doesn't sound great at all.

On the other hand, Alexandra looks lovely in that gown, and it looks like it was a wonderful occasion.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a great occasion, even if I could have planned it better... :-P But my mom and MIL showed again how damn awesome they are and helped me out a lil. :-)

Peting on the other hand had to stay in the doghouse for quite a while after we finally were OK all three of us. :-P

Iooooh antique heirloom so pretty baby so adorbs (me so incoherent!)

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
*grin* Well, sometimes incoherence helps get out what you want anyway... or something...

I think you are contagious! X-D

Taking turns is fair! *nod nod*

Alexandra is so lovely! You all are a beautiful family! ^_^

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be fair if we had taken turns! *grumps*

And thank you! :-D

Alexandra is gorgeous! Congratulations on making it through the baptism safe and sound (and dry ;D). That antique gown is amazing. What an incredible tradition for your family! I really hope that you're fully recovered and feeling better by now. I'm so sorry I didn't get to comment earlier, but I'm so happy for you guys! *hugs*

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Alexandra looks SO MUCH like Peting, only a girl-version! *lol* Everyone points it out, even I! :-D

The antique gown is back safe and sound for safe-keeping with my uncle and aunt. :-) No telling if it'll make it for another generation... still, it is gorgeous thing and with it's history none of us wants to get rid of it in any way.

[identity profile] relentlessfire.livejournal.com 2013-02-25 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
You guys seem to get sick a lot, huh? :( Sorry it's been so tough for you all lately (fighting sucks) but I'm glad the baptism went well! And that gown is lovely. So happy it didn't rip! :)

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2013-03-05 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
The baptism was a wonderful occasion, really! :-D I was really happy about it, I gotta say. :-) So now she is all official and such, my dear girl. :-D

And we didn't figut much, Peting and me. It was more a case of him being in the dog-house for a lil while... :-P

The funny thing is, we don't get sick often at all. It was just really bad luck that we all got sick at the same time. :-P
