This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

A month later and here I am again. Guess I can't stay away. :-) End of 2017. I guess a little reflection of the year is in order.

Don't know really where to start. :-) It's been a pretty good year, most of it. Apart from the autumn this year. Less good that one.

Early 2017 was good. The winter-part and the spring-part. I do work a lot, and I do enjoy it.

I feel like I started to grow into my professional role a lot this year over all. And it started this year, pretty much. I feel more confident. And I know what to do, how to do it.

One thing I do know though, and I am working on it, is that I want to do to much. I have a lot of ideas. Things I want to do at work. But there's never enough time, you know? I did get more time this year. Before I worked only 30 hours a week at the school and 10 hours at a neighboring library. This year I got 40 hours to work only in the school, so that's good. More time. But there's never enough time when you are the sole responsible for EVERYTHING at a workplace, is it? :-)

So this autumn it just got a bit to much with work, family and everything. Usually the autumn blues does not effect me. I've never suffered from it. But this year... This year it hit. Hard. Hard as fuck. Depressed friends told me I showed signs of depression, and that might be true. I had no energy for anything. And I pulled back from socializing with anyone at all, even my best friend. And I stopped logging into my chat programs. Which I used to do a lot before. I just didn't have the energy. I didn't have any energy left at all when I came home from work, and I constantly felt like I lacked there to, despite my boss and colleagues telling me otherwise. The teachers and other staff at school think I do a great job to, but at that time I couldn't take that in. So that was not a fun part of 2017.

And lets not start on the political climate in the world these days. That's a depressing state for sure. Fuck Trump. And that's all I'll say on that, or this post will be even more of a downer.

The Swedish political climate isn't to much fun either, since Sverige Demokraterna, which is the alt-right here in Sweden has far to much power. And is gaining it. And there's far to many areas in Sweden where crime is running rampant (and the school I'm working in is in one of them areas...), but trying to beat it with racism is not the answer. Racism and hate never is.

*sigh* So that was the less than good part about this post, but it's reality, so that's that.

But despite how I've felt about my job, I do like it! Even though I struggle with my hooligans, when I'm alone with them, they're so nice to talk to! It's when they come in a group, things get crazy. And the other kids/teens at the school are WONDERFUL! There's about 700 kids/teens at the school now, and the hooligans are around... 10-15 kids/teens. Soooo many refugee kids though, or children of refugees. Hence why I work my ass off to make sure they get the best possible help to make it here in Sweden. To do that, you need to know how to read...

As you can see much of my life is... work...

Then there's Alexandra, of course. The best thing in my life. :-) She grows SO FAST! It's crazy! And she's growing up to be a really good kid. :-) Spoiled, yes. Both grandma's really do love to spoil her rotten. *lol* No wonder my MIL wants to, since Alexandra is her only grandkid. :-)

She cares a lot of her friends and her cousins. She really loves them. So I hope when she starts school she'll have her friends in the same class. Fingers crossed. Her big cousin Tilda, who is 10 years old, is Alexandras big idol. She follows her like a little puppy when we're at the same spot, and she learns a lot from her.

One thing she's really gotten from Tilda is the love off horses. Alexandra started riding this year, and she has really taken to it! She's always been very shy, but not when she's at the stable. She's really outgoing there, and not afraid of the horses at all. :-D At this riding school you don't only learn how to ride on the horse, but also how to take care of the horse. The whole thing. And she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. Not at all. So that's really impressive! And she's getting really good at riding to, for her age. :-D So I'm totally happy with driving her to the stable once a week. Eventually there'll be more than once a week, I know. But I'm fine with it, since it seems to be good for her, not only physically but mentally to! And she loves it! Win-win!

Her teachers/caregivers at daycare says she is doing really well at daycare to, she's popular with the other kids. She likes to learn new things. To try new things and to explore. And to help her friends when needed. Only time she ends up cranky is when she can't run the games she does with her friends. I think that comes from her being an only child and always deciding the games herself at home.

Another bad thing is that she's inherited two bad qualities from me and Peting... My tendency to 'disappear' in my fantasies, to the point I dream while being awake and not hear or see what's going on around me. So people have to touch me or call out for me to snap me out of it. Alexandra does this to, especially when tired, morning or evening.

Another thing, that she got from Peting, is her absolutely HORRID morning-temper! Now, I don't expect anyone to be cheerful at 6am in the morning which is the time I wake her up, but my GAWD! There's some serious fights quite often when she just refuses to do anything at all, and fights and hits me to get out of it. I've been brought to tears some mornings because I've been so frustrated and this autumn and winter I've been late for work nearly every morning. :-/ Peting is like that to. Well, he is not fighting, but I do avoid going into the kitchen until he's taken a seat and started on his breakfast. Just saying.

Right, so... This last month or two, I've started doing a lot better. I even start feeling an urge to go back to the vampire-LARP, which we stopped doing as well this year. We took a break, but now I'm started to feel energy and urge to go back to that to. They've done a restart this year, so instead of vampires in the modern age, the LARP is now set in the medieval times. Medieval vampires... We'll see if I can figure something out for it. I've noticed that many of the LARPers that moved away from this city for work and education has started to move back again. It would be fun to play against them again. :-)

So as you can see, even though this year has been tougher than previous years, I'm still going out on top. At least that's how it feels like to me. :-) I do have hopes for 2018. Alexandra is starting school! So that's going to be interesting! Onward to 2018!

Books, movies, tv-shows... I'll just have to make a separate post for that! Kudos if anyone had the energy to read through all that!

I made a deal with [profile] hexenhasel today to be better at posting, and I'll try to do that. I'm not sure I can jump back so far to catch up, so if there's any post you want me to read specificlly, link to it in a comment or just tell me whatever you want me to know. :-) I'll jump back until December 1'st, and then keep up from that.

This entry is cross posted between LJ and DW. Comment where you are comfortable.
First though, for you that have a hate for the new look of the comments? Here is a fix of sorts if you want to put some work into it:
LiveJournal release 88 tweaks

I know some of you on my f-list might be interested in that. :-) See, I am not a total ass? I can agree to disagree, and then give linkage and help. ;-) I really hope that will help some of you guys that don't like the latest changes to LJ.

Rightoh! So, New Years Eve.

I suppose at the end of the year/beginning of the new one your supposed to go though the year that has gone by and comment on it? Hmm...

I worked a lot during 2011. At various libraries. My 'career' if you wanna call it that has taken off quite a bit during this year, which is good. I couldn't stay at the little school-library at the troubled school, which was a shame. I'd finally gotten to get closer to all them troubled kids there, and they I was ripped away from it. Sad thing. And nothing I can do about. After that I was doing work here and there, but not much. And then... I gathered some courage around me and went to the big city library and asked if they needed someone to work by the hour there to? Clearly a good move, since the end of 2011 has been quite insane. I've worked A LOT there! And it seems like I will for quite some time yet in 2012... So that's good. :-)

The unemployment funds have been ASSHOLES this entire year. I keep sending them the paper-work they ask for, and then I get back that oh, that paperwork that was the EXACT thing we asked for? It's not enough. It looks wrong. It doesn't compute with our info in our database. You have to send it again. And again. And again. And again... And so on and so fourth. *sigh* Sometimes I really, really have a hate for bureaucracy. :-/

Family wise, mom made that gastric bypass, which was a scary thing, but in the end it ended up being the best thing ever for her! She has really changed this year, and to the better! I am so fucking proud of her. My brother has been his ever awesome self. He works his butt off for his family, basiclly. Being a farmhand is tough work, if you didn't know it. And then, after hours, he helps my Uncle who runs the family farm. And makes sure he has time for his two kids. Who are both adorable, might I add. Yes, I admire my brother quite a great deal. He is one AWESOME man, and I sometimes feel like I am the younger sister, even if it is in fact HE that is four years younger then me. :-)

What about 2012? [livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni and [livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles had these questions posted in their LJs, so I took the liberty to copy them. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] ruchirahni What did you accomplish in 2011? What did you do? How did you feel? What was the best part? What was the worst part? How can you repeat the best part and avoid the worst?

Think I already answered that. :-) My biggest accomplishments must be that I actually got a TON of my self confidence back when it comes to my job, my profession. I CAN do this. I am GOOD at this! :-D And that is pretty damn awesome. I am going to work on more of that for 2012.

[livejournal.com profile] omgwtfskittles what are your wishes/hopes/resoultions for the new year?

My biggest wish... That I'll be the best I can be when it is required off me during 2012. That is my greatest wish. :-) *cryptic*

During our actual celebration of New Years Eve, it was just me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73. We stayed at home. Watched the four first Star Wars movies, since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is SUCH a Star Wars fanboy right now (he has bought Star Wars: The Old Republic and plays it daily).

We have this tradition really. We stay home, in our sweatpants and t-shirts. Watching movies and eating nice food. :-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit joins us some years, but this year we had our nerd-newyears all by our selfs. :-)

And the food the man cooked... GUH! o.O Four course meal...

First course was a LOVELY mushroomsoup with crawfish. SO TASTY!
Yummy soup! )

After that we went for the main course, which was... crocodile meat, potatoes made in the oven and Béarnaise sauce. OMG! So good! And crocodile meat, that I've never eaten before? Tasted somewhere between fish and chicken. Odd, yes. But VERY nice!
Crocodile meat... Yum! )

Then we had dessert, which consisted of white chocolate mousse with a hint of lime.
Mmmm... Chocolate... )

And lastly, with coffee and cheering in 2012, we had [livejournal.com profile] peting73s famous caloric punch cake. Oh my gawd! IT IS SO FUCKING TASTY! It is down right orgasmic. And he refuses to tell me the recipie. Secret, he says. Can't even be in the kitchen when he makes it. :-P Well, as long as he makes it for me with some regularity, I am happy!
Caloric punch cake! )

After that and four Star Wars movies, we gave up and went to bed, surprisingly early at around 1am. :-)

So in conclusion it has been a GREAT 2011 and a GREAT New Years Eve!
So Christmas. :-)

I had a WONDERFUL Christmas this year. I really did.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] peting73s aunt on the day before Christmas Eve and just hung out with his side of the family, his mom, his aunt, cousin and such.... It was really really nice. Traded gifts and stories and such and had a generally good time. They have this tradition that no gift can cost more then 30 SKR (4,12 USD). Makes it quite trixy to buy gifts then, but I had managed this year to find cheap and nice gifts on an online acution site, so I just managed to stay within the limits! :-D Go me! It was a lot of fun. :-)

On Christmas Eve we went to my moms house. A two hour drive. :-P Christmas Eve is The Day we celebrate here in Sweden. We were a little early, but we helped mom prepare the INSANE Christmas smörgås bord she always have every other year (when not at her house, we are at my aunts). We just managed to both watch the traditional Disney Cartoon show on TV AND fix all the food before my aunt with family came over. It was A BLAST! We ate food until we nearly burst, then we watched TV and talked, and then we exchanged gifts and then we played games until everyone was so tired, my aunt had to go home. Me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 stayed the night, so mom had fixed up the guest bed for us. :-)

Christmas Day we didn't do anything at all. Don't celebrate anything special on Christmas Day. We watched movies with mom. Played more tabletop games. Helped her clean up after Christmas Eve. Talked and hung out. :-) It was really nice.

Then on Boxing Day, my brother has a Christmas party to. Sort off. :-) My both uncles on dads side of the family, mom and us go there and we eat food (yep, more Christmas-food), exchanged gifts and just had a really good time.

I was so relieved everyone liked the gifts I had shopped this year. I'd shopped all of them online, home-made soaps and jewellry that I'd found on various Etsy shops. (Worked great shopping from these people!) So that was awesome. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit knows me damn well. I got the book The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan (YAY! REAL fucking vampires!) and the original score to Jesus Christ Superstar (the 2000 version). WIN! And I got an electric blanket from mom (since I am always damn cold during winter! X-D) ALSO win! From my brother I got a brilliant t-shirt that says Please find more time for reading books and has a steampunk styled pile of books on it. WIN AGAIN!

More happened, of course. (Don't it always?) Nothing bad though, and it'll have to wait for another post after New Years. :-)

I really hope everyone had a LOVELY time during Christmas and could take at least a few days off from work and such.

For New Years Eve (that has techniclly started, but eh...) we plan to just hang out alone here at home, watching movies AAAAALL day long, and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is going to fix up his famous four course dinner (two desserts... I love him...). We always eat some form of strange meat for New Years, and this year crocodile meat is on the menu.... I hope it'll taste well. I'll report laters! :-D

TAKE CARE AND ENJOY NEW YEARS, YA'LL! :-D

Monster Christmas!
Well, New Years Eve was fantastic! :-D [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit was here as was J and Ugglefot. It was AWESOME! We watched four movies and ate some seriously delicious food that [livejournal.com profile] peting73 cooked. We drank white and red wine, beer and cider. Some whiskey and when the clock stroke midnight, we toasted in real champagne! :-D Brilliant times where had by all. :-) The word most commonly used during the day/evening was PORN! Me and Ugglefot squeaked about Library-porn during National Treasure II (we watched both them movies) and then we all squeaked FOOD PORN! when we ate the food... and when [livejournal.com profile] peting73 served his epic caloric punch cake we all drooled and almost in unison said CAKE-PORN! :-D Well, then we ended the night with X-MEN Origins: Wolverine which caused me, [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and Ugglefot to come to the conclusion that that was just plain porn. X-D And we had some seriously geeky discussions during the evening to. It was awesome.

So, onwards to the thank yous... I haven't written any good thank you notes to those people from the TH-fandom that has sent me cards and candy and stuff during these holidays. So I am about to do that now. :-) Lets hope I get all the usernames correctly. :-P

[livejournal.com profile] thilia sent a printout of THIS lovely art (warning: twincest) to all TH-fans. Really nicely done to. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] wizzardess sent me a really pretty card with some classical winter motif on it. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] deniseleighann sent me a card as well. :-) With a pyramid of Santas! X-D Really cute! Thanx!

[livejournal.com profile] paceus sent me a really nice finnish card and a bunch of finnish candy! :-D Delicious, I tell you!

I also got a card from [livejournal.com profile] elizabeth21r all the way from Greece! Very cute, with teddybears on it. :-D

[livejournal.com profile] oo_fifi_oo sent me a very nice card from Nantes, France. :-D

[livejournal.com profile] kiakaha also sent me a pretty card from her country New Zealand with Mount Egmont on it where she expressed her envy of me being swedish... (She is a huge The Ark fan.)

[livejournal.com profile] furzry sent me candy (Yum!), a christmascard and a printed out photo of them twins with my nick KSena on it! :-D REALLY nice, if you ask me. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] whatablow also sent me candy, a pretty christmascard with Winnie the Pooh on it ([livejournal.com profile] peting73 loved that!) and a little plastic thingy that guitarists use to play with (don't remember the word) with Georg on it! *grin* Don't play the guitar, but hey... ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] diamondairways that is also from Sweden sent me a really pretty christmascard and a printed photo of Gustav from the show in Gothenburg that we both attended. She, however, must have been really close to the stage or she has a really good camera, since that is one nice photo of Gustav. :-)

I also have a bunch of letters and things without a name on them. *face-palm* Well, there are names, but I have no idea what they are called on LJ, so I can't properly thank these people. That kinda sucks, if you ask me. :-/

One is from a guy (girl?) called Dom who has drawn this amazing drawing with Tokio Hotel. Still don't know your name, but THANK YOU!

Also got a ton of candy and a cute christmascard with two little birds on it that are decorating a tree from... someone. Don't know who you are, but THANK YOU! :-D

Another hand-drawn card I got from someone called Elvira in Finland, a self-portrait no less! :-D Was really cool, and even got some golden sparkles on it. Really pretty! Thank you! :-D

Then there is a card where I aaaaalmost can make out the username... but not quite. It is, however, a really pretty card filled with glitter and a white snowrabbit. Looks wonderful. :-) So very pretty. Thank you!

Then there is the ever awesome [livejournal.com profile] beanbeans who always sends christmascards to me, and she always gets one from me as well. We have been lj-friends since I joined LJ all those years ago, so hey... It just wouldn't be right not to send her a card. :-) She sent me a really really pretty card to. Even the envelope was glittery on the inside! :-D

Thats a lot of cards, people... o.O

And then I got a ton from my RL friends and from my family to, of course. 16 cards in total. :-) Including [livejournal.com profile] chigrima, [livejournal.com profile] astroflammante, [livejournal.com profile] tekiila, [livejournal.com profile] skarvsladden and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit.

The mail-man has been working his butt off carrying cards and packages here, let me tell you. :-D

It has been really awesome, so THANK YOU everyone who sent me something! :-D

Lil Santadude
Time to consider what has been going on during 2010 and what I want for 2011. Inspired by the ever awesome Ugglefot, here is some thoughts that is supposed to summarize my thoughts... if that is even possible. I highly doubt that. He he he... Hope you don't mind I stole some inspiration there, Ugglefot? :-)

Things that has happened in 2010:

I actually got a job. Well, at least as a called in substitute thats paid by the hour. And as a librarian, no less. Shocking. :-) I have actually grown into my role as a librarian. The things I only knew in theory, I now know in practicality. I can now proudly call my self a librarian, and actually prove it to. :-)

Apart from that, it has been a tough year, economically. I have had no income for much of the year. And although [livejournal.com profile] peting73 has never ever complained and is telling me that I am a silly woman to worry so much, I can't help but worry. If it wasn't for [livejournal.com profile] peting73, I wouldn't know what to do. So thats the bad part.

Good part is, that despite the economically problems, I have actually felt pretty good this year. Unlike the last time I was unemployed a couple of years ago, I have not turned depressed and apathetic. No, I have done things! Worked on things! This is of the good.

Still very active in the vampire-LARP, and it is still as fun after 9 years of doing this... I very much plan on having as fun next year as I did during 2010.

Went to a concert for the first time in 20 or so years to see Tokio Hotel live. It didn't cure my fangirlyness, let me tell you. It made it worse. :-P

Things I am grateful for from 2010:

That the librarians of the Trandaredsbibliotek and Ekarängsbibliotek actually dared take a gamble on me after the period for my trainee position was over, and giving me a paid-by-the-hour position. I can not thank them enough for this, seriously. They have definitly turned my life around.

That [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is still with me, supporting me and loving me. There is no one like this man, let me tell you.

That I got to celebrate my 20 year long and ongoing friendship with [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit. You are, so awesome... Love you, sis! Lets make it another 20 years. X-D

All the friends I have gathered during this year. Both online and in real life. I am grateful for each and everyone of you.

Things I am proud of from 2010:

That I actually managed to get a job working as my profession. And that I can say that I am good at it. :-)

Also, that I finally said enough and stepped down from being a part of the board for the vampire-LARP club. I was close to breaking down from that work, and I am proud I managed to finally just say Stop. Enough.

My wonderful, awesome brother. I love him and his family so much. I am so proud of how he constantly works and has taken over much of the responsibility my father had within our huge extended family, helping fixing peoples cars, tractors and other mechanical things. Helping my uncle with his farm. Helping mom with this and that. AND working full time (sometimes more then that) on his job at another farm and being able to be a loving father and husband as well. That takes skill, people. He rocks.

Things that scare me from 2010:

That the current government is planning on privatize our libraries in Sweden... FUCK NO! *growl*

That the racist/neonazi political party in Sweden is growing stronger every year.... They gained a lot of political power during 2010. That is scary.

Things I'll try and remember and learn from and bring with me to the new year, 2011:

Continue to keep a bright outlook on my future. I CAN do this! And I WILL, dammit! Try to keep faith in myself.

Hang on to my sense of weird humor and the easiness I have to talk to strangers. It is a gift, really.

Continue being a perv and geek, even if I am growing older. Who said you had to be boring just because your growing older?

My biggest hope I can't write about right now, but yeah.... That to WILL happen, dammit!

Things I need to work on during 2011:

My self confidence. Always a struggle that. But I am working on it. Constantly. :-)

Call my brother more often. We both suck at calling the other, but once we do we talk for an hour or more, easily. :-)

And lastly, because it amused me: X-D
