This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

12: what's your favorite planet?

I can't say I really have a favorite one, so I guess... Earth? Reading up on space and such things have never really been my thing. Nor hugely interesting to me.

13: what's something that made you smile today?

My daughter. :-) She'll have a sleepover at daycare with all her friends tonight and she even woke up excited. Anytime she is excited and happy about something, it makes me smile to. Perks off parenthood? ;-)

I have to say as well that even though it's somewhat chaotic at work, both among the students AND staff right now, it always amaze me and makes me happy the dedication the teachers and staff show not just for this school, but for the community it is in. Which is needed because it is a very socially troubled area. We have gang-members as young as 12-13 at this school.

14: if you were to live with your best friend in an old flat in a big city, what would it look like?

It would be split in two! X-D My best friend is a costuming nerd. She loves historic clothes and clothes from movies, musicals and such. And she is really really good at sewing clothes to! So her half would be filled with such things and her computer. My half would probably be computer, comics and books. :-) And in the middle we would have a HUGE TV and entertainment center, so we could watch movies and such. :-D

15: go google a weird space fact and tell us what it is!

I googled "weird space fact" to see what that would give me. And it got me lists! That listed weird space facts. :-D Perfect!

One fact I saw on these lists was this: "We know more about space than we do about the deep in our oceans." Really? One has to wonder then what lurks in the deep then... ;-)

16: what's your favorite pasta dish?

Hard to say. I really do love pasta. Especially spaghetti! When I was pregnant I had the weirdest craving for spaghetti. I could not get enough of it. So what I did was, I made this kebab-sauce that I had found a recipe for years ago. It's really yummy and perfect on salads and such. Anyway, I made a batch of that sauce to keep in the fridge so I wouldn't run out. And then I poured some of that over my spaghettis and also added some mild chili-sauce. And ate. And ate and ate. I could eat a plate of this several times a day!

I don't have a craving fot this anymore, but I do still enjoy it sometimes. Maybe with some meatballs or sausages/hotdogs...

17: what color do you really want to dye your hair?

Purple. Purple, purple, purple... I have ordered the colour now, so it should arrive any day. But I've wanted to do this for YEARS! I also love colouring my hair a fiery red. :-) But for now, PURPLE!

18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up.

Not so much friends as I guess the question means, but this story has gone down in history in my family, which includes my best friend. :-)

I was 18-19 years old or something like that. And I was at another friends house having a pre-party. AKA we were sitting around drinking alcohol to get drunk before we were to take the bus and go to a club dancing. Now usually I stuck to one kind of alcohol at a time, but since we were both short of cash, we'd begged our parents for alcohol and pretty much taken what we could. So there was cider, wine, beer, snaps, hard liquor that we mixed with sodas... You name it. And also rosé wine. This will be important.

So we were having a good laugh and drinking and all that. I don't know why, but I drank a lot that night. And ended up extremely drunk. Anyhow, we'd dressed up nicely. Me in my pinstriped suit and my big overcoat (it was winter), and then we went to the bus. Now, it takes about 30 mins by buss to get to the neighboring city where the club was. And as soon as the bus started driving, I started to feel sick. And it just got worse. So after 15 mins I threw up. All over myself. Remember that rosé wine? I'd apparently liked it, because what came out was pink.

I was really gone by then, but from what I remember I was just afraid my dad would be pissed at me. My friend took good care of me, she wasn't quite as drunk, and once the bus stopped she helped me off and took me to a bench. Then she went to a phone-booth and called my parents. (This was before mobile-phones, people.)

My parents? They found this HILARIOUS!!!! And just to fuck with me, my dad was the one picking me up. He was laughing during the whole drive. And once we'd dropped my friend off we went home to hours. I was told to turn off the light outside the garage. I couldn't find the button. I thought there was three of them, when in reality it was just one. That was how drunk I was.

I swear my dad was giggling at that point. It was in January I think, so very cold. Still they helped strip OUTSIDE THE DOOR! On the front porch! Good thing we lived in the middle of nowhere... And that suit and the overcoat? Couldn't wash them normally, drycleaners only. Fun. :-P

My room was on the second floor, so my HIGHLY amused parents had to help me up the stairs. Dad pushed my ass and mom held my hands. Then they took a seat on a chair each in my room and watched me get ready for bed, having a giggle while doing so. Then they patted me, told me I'd feel like shit in the morning and left me to sleep.

Gladly I'd never really had much of a hangover, so I didn't feel like total shit in the morning after, BUT!!! My mother has NEVER let me forget this! Neither has my best friend! Every time they see a bottle of rosé wine they ask me if I want some. I have only had a glas ONCE since. And that, I think, was last year. This story has been a running joke on me for years. :-) How I was so drunk I saw everything times three. And how my parents teased me MERCILESSLY about it.

And you know what? I'm totally cool with it. :-D I can laugh at it myself. Oh, and I've never been as drunk since. I've learned how much I can take and when it's time to stop after that. And being old, I don't go out drinking as much anymore either. :-)

19: do you keep a journal? what do you write/draw/ in it?

Well... Duh! *points to LJ* This is basically the only journal I keep. I used to keep a handwritten one to, and I pretty much wrote the same in that one. Daily things that I experienced and wanted to get down in writing. Just like here. I've not written in it in years though.

All the questions! )

This entry is crossposted between LJ and DW. Comment where you are comfortable.
Nope. No Nerd Jr today either. *sigh* And I am getting increasingly clumsy. :-/ It is starting to become an effort to move around. I don't like it. I just want Nerd Jr to be here with us by now! Was scheduled for yesterday... Apparently Nerd Jr didn't agree. *sigh*

In an effort to get things going though, I've been somewhat productive today! I cleaned the bathroom and watered all the flowers (which all took longer then usual, but hey... I did it, so yay!).

When I was done with that and relaxing, [livejournal.com profile] peting73s best friend called and said they'd come over and say hi. Considering they live 8 hours from here further north in Sweden, I was quite surprised to hear this, but happy to! :-D So I made a kladdkaka/mudcake (easiest cake EVER to make!).

They said they'd be here a bit before [livejournal.com profile] peting73 would be off work, but of course not. Kiltfan and his wife are notriously late, with at least 20-30mins, so I even had time for a short nap. :-) Lovely, lovely!

Shortly after [livejournal.com profile] peting73 came home from work they did to, and we had a lovely time eating cake and talking and just hanging out. :-) Was great!

After that and dinner, we both took a nap here and then we've just taken it easy the rest of the evening... So it's been a good day, absolutly! Despite no Nerd Jr. ;-) Tomorrow perhaps? We'll see, I suppose. Only one that knows... and that's Nerd Jr.

And of course I found a link to share! :-D Surprised? Shouldn't be. ;-)

This is SUCH a perfect description about the odd traditions when it comes to us Swedes and christmas... I know, wrong season, but hell... It amused me. :-) Mostly because it is all true! :-D

Nordic Quack! - Sweden's bizarre tradition of watching Donald Duck cartoons on Christmas Eve

You DO NOT mess with Donald Duck in Sweden! X-D
Clearly I am still home and not at the maternity ward. :-P *sigh* At least I can say Nerd Jr is still moving around in there, so I take that as a good sign that the little one is doing good still. :-) I just wish she/he could decide to join us out here instead. :-P

Yesterday we took it real easy here, not doing much at all. Well, we went shopping for food a bit. And for diapers and such for Nerd Jr. Was the last thing needed really. But after that, we didn't do much. I have this nap-craving every day, and yesterday I was SO TIRED all day! Damn annoying, but what can you do? So I took a long nap in the middle of the day.

Today though we visited my MIL, [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom. :-) She had found a nice recipe for a meat stew with wine and lots of spices and such in it. And she wanted us to come over and try it out, so we did. :-) And OMG! It was DELICIOUS, I tell you! SO GOOD! All the alcohol in the wine had all evaporated, so it was just the lovely taste of the wine left. YUM, YUM, I tell you! :-D

Then we stayed there for about four or five hours. She'd found some old baby-clothes from when SHE and her sister were kids! Like in the mid to late 1950's. Old, but very nice clothing! She'd picked out the stuff that was still really good, like a couple of white cotton shirts with lace on them. SO cute! And some sheets for the cradle and the crib bed. :-) With lace and embroideries on them. :-) Gorgeous stuff!

Nerd Jr is going to be my MIL's one and only grandchild, since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is an only child himself. And he is 38 years old already, so I think she'd given up hope on him. :-) Making Nerd Jr a true gift for her. My mom had probably given up hope on me to, but my brother has two GORGEOUS kids, so she is already a grandma to them. I am so very very happy not only for US! Nerd Jr is a true gift for us to after all we've gone through to make sure she/he can join us... but a true gift for [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom as well. :-) She'll be one AWESOME grandma, I am sure!

Right, so enough talk about Nerd Jr! :-D Some Olympics perhaps? Haven't written much about that. :-)

Anyone watching the Olympics? I don't watch it THAT actively. I mean, sure. The TV is on and it runs there, but... Yeah. I don't watch it that much. i check the website and check how many medals each country has managed to collect, but that is pretty much it. For the record, China and the US seems to be bloody unbeatable... o.O DAMN that is a lot of gold medals the athletes of those two countries have collected! I am glad Great Britain have collected quite the bunch to, considering they are hosting the games. :-)

There was quite the thrill for a Swedish athlete yesterday though! We have better athletes for the winter games, not so surprisingly... But yesterday during the Women's Triathlon... there was quite the thrill! o.O We had the TV running while doing other stuff, and all of a sudden [livejournal.com profile] peting73 got all excited in front of the TV! And the finish was QUITE exciting to watch! :-D They were running pretty much side to side the Swedish girl and the Swiss girl, so the judges and such had to consult photos and computers to decide who the winner was! It was SOOOO CLOSE! In the end though, the Swedish girl got the silver. :-)

And then today? Today the Swedish athletes got their first gold! :-D In sailing! Men's Star Sailing, no less! :-D I guess it is the old viking blood that runs true... *lol* ;-)

We'll get back to you during the Winter Olympics... I bet our athletes then will take more medals. ;-)

Oh, oh, oh!!! Have a shameless self-pimp!

If you are a Tokio Hotel fan? I HIGHLY suggest you check out the fanfic me and [livejournal.com profile] snowstormskies have worked for... well, ages it feels like. :-P We have just started posting it! :-D Three chapters so far. It is a HUGE fanfic, so... I hope some more would be curious and want to check it out. :-) We nick-named the fanfic The Hydra, because it pretty much work like the legendary creature... the more you try to cut it down...? The more heads it grows. *lol* The final name though ended up being Let us hear you, let us feel you... and it's a threesome BDSM story. :-)

Here's the banner! :-D (Courtesy of the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] thilia!)

Right!

I hope as many as possible had a wonderful weekend. *hugs to all*
OMG! Can it be over soon? *sigh* Yes, I am talking pregnancy and Nerd Jr... The little one is stealing ALL my energy! ALL! *sigh* I get nothing done around here, and it frustrates the hell out of me. Thank gawd [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is such a patient and understanding man. And slightly insane. For the record, I love that man. And I am quite convinced he'll rock as a dad.

According to midwifes/nurses that I've talked to during all my checkups Nerd Jr is scheduled to be born 6th of August... That's in three days... SO SOON! Goodness... Of course, one never knows. In the end of the day, the only one to decide is Nerd Jr herself/himself. Here in Sweden you go on checkups constantly during these last weeks, and if you go 2 weeks past the due date, you have to go to the maternity ward at the hospital and they'll start up the delivery with medication. So. Sometime between now and the 20th of August it can happen at ANY TIME!

Meantime, I am clumsier then ever. My legs are swollen like you wouldn't believe. Thank gawd for mom lending me her compression stockings or I would have been even more handicapped, dammit... I have no energy and feel like just one big blob. :-/

NERD JR! MOM TALKING! GET OUT OF THERE! I WANNA MEET YOU AND GET MY BODY BACK, DAMMIT!

And still I have no HUGE belly really. Nerd Jr has made herself/himself comfy quite far in my body... which makes bending over quite a chore. And of course that makes me drop things on the floor ALL THE TIME! :-P *annoyed at this*

Anyway, the most important thing is that we've been told on all them checkups that Nerd Jr is doing perfectly fine in there all set for birth with her/his head down as it should be. Steady and strong heart-beats and everything.

I've been a bit worried about all my scars from my Endometriosis and from all the surgery I've had to do because of it... not to mention the myoma on the side of my utures. That all of that would be an hindrance in giving birth naturally. But apparently, down there? Nothing is in the way. :-) No scars, no myomas no nothing. So should be all fine! THANK GAWD! My stomach has been cut up enough! No need to add more scars to it if one can help it!

So now all I have to do is wait... and wait... and wait. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 and his mom is quite convinced that Nerd Jr is a girl. Mom and my best friend [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit is convinced Nerd Jr is a boy. Me? I have NO IDEA! So I am stuck in the middle right there.

So I made a poll! :-D Polls are fun, right? :-) We'll see later down the line who wins. *grin*

[Poll #1858156]

According to [livejournal.com profile] peting73 there should be a prize down the line for those who get it right... No, I have NO idea what the man talks about! X-D So we'll see, I suppose. :-)

Talking off Nerd Jr, she/he got a gift today! :-D All the way from Canada! A seriously cute Montreal shirt from [livejournal.com profile] rule_number_7! Thank you SO MUCH, luv! :-D It is SERIOUSLY cute! And it WILL be used! :-D Take my word for it. :-)

To end this post I'll share a few more links. I always seem to collect links when I am surfing the net. "Oh, I gotta share this on my LJ!" X-D Anyone else have that problem? Finding stuff they just wanna share? I do all the time. :-P So here goes!

This walrus made my day the other day! :-D He sure got his rhythm down, doesn't he? ;-)

Rocking out to to the King of Pop! )

Cute, wasn't he? :-D

This vid also rocked my socks off! Seriously! Not only is it very professionally done, it is cute, funny and the lyrics... Just WINS! Don't we all want to sing this to random haters when needed? ;-) I sure know I would love to at times!

Thank you, Hater! <3  )

Another fun thing I found was... this review of 50 Shades of Grey... Yes. THAT book. The Twilight-fanfic-book. That makes all the people actually living and breathing a proper BDSM relationship RAGE like you wouldn't believe. After reading this epic review though, I feel... I kinda have to read it. Just to experience how epically bad it can get. But I won't pay for it, oh hell no! Libraries, here I come.

Katrina Lumsden's review of Fifty Shades of Grey on Goodreads

It's hilarious! And all the gifs! Just read it! :-D

Talking about authors, have one that is actually one of the best authors out there... even if the man is dead. JRR Tolkien. Anyone who stands up to the Nazis during WWII wich such style and such excellent use of words... Got my vote as one HELL of a rocking author! :-D Apparently the Nazis wanted to make sure Mr Tolkien REALLY was of arish decent before agreeing to publish his book The Hobbit in 1938. And Tolkien? Well, he proceeded with ripping them a new one... just the way a proper englishman would. :-D

Letters of Note: Tolkiens letter to the publishers in Nazi Germany.

Also, also! I want to play this game... It looks so WONDERFULLY creepy! And so cute at the same time! I love that combination! :-D Among the Sleep... A baby and his (her?) teddybear trying to survive the things that go bump in the night... It is so so CUTE!

Among the Sleep - Gameplay Teaser... )

I really really love the look of that game...

Right, so... That would be all for today. :-) I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend!
Wohoo! I had SUCH a great great night last night! Of course, I've paid for it today with extremely tired feet, but dammit... IT WAS WORTH IT!

See, here in this city Borås they have this thing during the summer called SummerThursdays. :-) It means that every Thursday during summer the stores are open until late in the night, all the coffee-shops as is all the pubs and nightclubs and such... AND! There is a free concert on the main city square! :-D With various artists and various music genres. :-) And last night? Last night it was rock / heavy metal on the schedule... :-D And HOLY SHIT! It rocked! :-D So much!

The band playing called themselves Metal Allstars... because they are just a bunch of friends from various rock / heavy metal bands that like to play together. :-) And did they EVER! Had the entire city square singing along and cheering to old rock / heavy metal classics like Living after midnight (Judas Priest), Enter Sandman (Metallica), T.N.T + Highway to Hell (AC/DC), Ace of Spades (Motörhead), Here I Go Again (Whitesnake).... Of course they played a lot more from other classic rock / heavy metal bands, but those are the ones I remember right now. :-) Oh, it was SO MUCH FUN!

The members of Metal Allstars are these: Mats Levén (a brilliant rock/metal singer, my gawd what a voice!), Kicken Lundqvist (drummer who used to be a member of The Poodles), John Levén (bassist from the old band Europé) and also Pontus Norgren (who is from the band HammerFall).

I was standing quite far back, where I could lean and sit on a low stone wall. :-) I could still see the stage pretty good and I avoided the heaviest bas from the speakers (didn't wanna go into labor then and there... X-D ). Nerd Jr seemed to enjoy the music though, moving around in there when the music was playing! :-D I wasn't there alone, of course. [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit was with me to, and we had a great night! Even though music like this is not her kind of music normally. :-) She usually listens to musicals, folkmusic and such... But we still had a lot of fun!

Of course we took a few photos, but not many came out good. :-P Here are the two that did though. :-) Can click both for bigger.

Two photos from the night! )

They kept it up from 9pm to 10:20pm, so that's pretty good for a free concert, I'd say! :-D Not all artists and bands that have played here have kept up for that long. :-) Really awesome! And afterwards they were to play at a nightclub to from midnight onwards. :-) Of course, me and my belly couldn't deal with that, but still... It was brilliant to watch them live on the city square. :-D

I checked YouTube today, just on a whim... and HELLO! Someone has managed to get some great photoage from the concert with pretty good sound to! :-D I highly suggest you check it out!:

Metal Allstars LIVE in Borås! )

After all that music, me and [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit went to check the busses... and promptly had to wait for 30mins before my next bus would arrive. :-P So we just had a sitdown and talked like us two old friends do all the time. :-) About EVERYTHING. :-D A brilliant ending to a brilliant night. :-)
