Failbook is a freaking evil thing!!

Beyond happy I don't have a Failbook account. Never had one, never will I get one. :-P

Facebook is evil? Yes.

And more about it.

And even more still!

All three well worth reading.

Ugh... I remember when everyone wanted you to have a Failbook. I got several emails a week from friends wanting me to join, especially my young LARP-friends. Until I told them to fucking stop sending me that shit! A little kinder maybe, but not much. They know me though, so they stopped it and are still friends of mine. :-)

Donald Trump being fact-checked by... me???? Twitter-storm and media-storm in Sweden...

I... don't even know where to start this post. o.O

Let's see... I took over the @sweden Monday 13th. Was a lot of active users following it, around 104'000. So there was a lot of questions and comments being thrown at me. But not more than I could keep up with. The nasty ones I just ignored. :-)

It was fun. I tweeted about my days. I tweeted about my city, Borås. I tweeted about books, since I am a librarian. Gave tips for reading about Sweden. What you can do coming to visit Sweden, and what fun there is to do in different cities.

Just what I'd expected to do on such a Twitter account. And the same thing I did, pretty much, when I was a voice for Sweden on The Swedish Number. Only this time I had to write my answers and to a lot more people then I had done then. So it was all fun and games...

Until after midnight Saturday night (swedish time). When Donald Trump held a speech where he talked about refugees and terrorist attacks. "Look at what's happening in Sweden. Last night in Sweden..."

I didn't know about this. Until suddenly A TON of people started to ask the only swede awake. On Twitter. @sweden. What is happening? Are you OK? Is ABBA fine? Have Måns Zelmerlöf been hurt? Etc, etc, etc... Et infinity...

I was left with thinking, what the FUCK is he talking about? Checking all the sources I could think off (because fact-check, people!), I came to the conclusion it was bullshit. And proceeded to tell the followers as much, mostly to reassure everyone and inform, you know?

This went on for all night until I noticed the time. 3:45am. SHIT! Kiddo usually wakes up at 7am, so I hurried to bed for a bit of sleep.

Woke up all groggy and shit and cuddled kiddo in the couch. And checked @sweden twitter. Between 800-900 mentions. HOLY HELL!!! Obviously I couldn't answer everyone, but I answered a few here and there, and kept informing and reassuring that NOTHING HAS HAPPENED!!!

And (gladly) after I had started to wake up, the media-circus started...

First a web-page/web-news page called Mashable mailed me questions about what had happened.... And then, hold your hats, BBC who I did a live-interview with right on air. And Le Monde (from France), DMed me and mailed me. After that, swedish media got in on it. And they to contacted me.

So I had the two MAIN NEWS SHOWS here in my messy home interviewing and filming me. WTF??? Both Rapport and TV4News.

After than it was the local newspaper that called and did a phone interview, Borås Tidning.

At this point I'm so flabbergasted, I had no words. To me, it was no huge deal. I'd spread information, spoke the truth and been myself. That's all. But these people seemed to see it as if I'd spoken against Donald Trump. *shrug* I suppose in a way I had, but I didn't and still don't see it like that.

Next news-site that contacted me and did a phone-interview was The Local who has swedish news in english. And the Daglige Blad from Norway.

And then... BBC contacted me AGAIN!!! X-D So I did another live-interview with them.

That was the last one I did on Sunday. I'd promised both myself, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 and Alexandra that I wouldn't do anything after 6pm at night, since... family is the most important after all.

I went to bed quite late again, since the storm had not stopped on the account. I was still the swede of the week on @sweden. And Sunday night was my last night, so I wanted to keep information coming for as long as possible before I had to logg out. So I did. There was still TONS and TONS of questions pouring in and I answered as best I could. Tweeting information and news as best I could. Until finally I was to exhausted and logged out and collapsed in bed.

You'd think since I was not the swede of the week on Monday I wouldn't have anyone calling me? Wrong! SO wrong!

I'd gotten emails during Sunday from the public radio here in Sweden about doing a couple of mornings show Monday morning. So I had to get up early, since the first one was to call me at... 6:45 am.

So at 6:45am I talked to the morning show in Stockholm. 7:15am I talked to the local radio-show Radio Sjuhärad... And at 7:30am I talked to the the morning show P3 Morgon-passet.

After that I threw myself in the shower taking a shower and after that getting makeup on, because after that...

I was to be on BBC (AGAIN!). This time it was BBC News (what??!?!). I didn't know if they wanted with my face to on Skype, so hence the makeup. Proved they didn't need that, oh well...

My mom came over that monday, THANK GAWD! Because during the day I was contacted by CNN in New York, USA.

I... had no words at this point, and more was to come... So we scheduled an interview late that evening my time. (After Alexandras bedtime.)

Mom helped me clean a bit and we hung out. Went to pick up Alexandra and we stopped at the playground, which Alexandra wanted. And when we hung out by the playground I got a phone call from one of my colleagues who jokingly called me the celebrity. Then she said that there'd been a call to them asking for my phone-number. From the swedish government. WHAT??? Of course it was fine if they called me. So they did.

And it was the Head of Staff at the Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström. Who called to give me an official thank you from the swedish government.

WHAT??!??! I was beyond happy I was sitting down at that point, let me tell you.

Mom stayed with us all day, until bedtime. I even dozzed off leaning against her at one point after dinner. It felt wonderful. I swear to anything holy, I'll always need mom. She is my piler of support when things storm around me. She, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 and my best friend [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit.

Anyway, later that night CNN called me up on Skype, and everything got set up and all. They were very very professional and effective. The interviewer, live on air and everything, was Brooke Baldwin, apparently. I couldn't see. I only saw my screen, but apparently they had me on image on the show. They had to cut it short though, since Donald Trump announced new members of the White House staff. Which was fine, really!

You'd think that was the last of it, but no...

The day after, Tuesday, I was doing a live-thing on Facebook with a couple of people from The Swedish Institute who runs the @sweden twitter account and are responsibel for it. It was weird but also a lot of fun.

That, however, was the last of it!!!!

Today I've just stayed home and not done a damn thing. GEEZES CHRIST!

So... How was your weekend? X-D *LOL*

And here's all the links to everything I've done. Only thing I couldn't find a link for was the Norweigan newspaper. :-) In case you wanna read, listen or watch. If it's in swedish, I'll make a note for it.

All the interviews about the swedish incident aka #lastnightinsweden... )

Today is just a really bad day...

I don't know what it has been with this particular day, but it has absolutely sucked.

I woke up in a pretty good time, when Peting and kiddo got ready for daycare and all, but it didn't matter. I had grand plans, but I got nothing done. I was supposed to start up getting some shit added to Tradera, but... no.

Seems as I turn into a lazy shit when I'm on sick leave.

And my World of Warcraft is not working either! The lag I got is ridiculous. It's not even playable the way it's been acting. I've finally gotten back into the one and only game I play and that I absolutely adore... and that happens. :-/ I think it's partly my computer about to give up it's ghost. Not soon, I can do everything else on it, no problem. But no Warcraft. This makes me a sad KSena. Peting figured a solution for the time being this evening, but who knows how long that will last? Fingers crossed until summer at least. I am so getting myself a new computer as a birthday present to myself. :-P

Talking about Peting, he has been in a horrible mood today. I know it's tough on him, since has to carry a heavier workload around the house, because I plain can't. It takes time for a leg to heal. And I can't walk properly yet. It doesn't matter though, it still makes me feel so fucking guilty.

Triggerwarning, about suicidal friend )

Kiddo was coughing really badly last night so neither of us got a good nights sleep in the household either, which does it's works to, I'm sure. Not on kiddo though, she's been all sunshine all day. Kids are weird.

And it's just been a bit much today. And I'm just done. I'm a supporting person. I am. Just, who supports me, you know?

I had a run of really good days, where I've enjoyed being on sick leave, and Peting has been in a moderately good mood, but today has just been bad.

Tomorrow mom is coming over to help us out a bit. Thank gawd. I'm almost 40 years old, but I swear I'll never be to old to need my mom. Seriously. I need my mothers hugs right now. *sigh*

LJ and Russia

So... Yeah. Servers moved to Russia. Not a change of company (yet).

Dude. I've been here since 2003. (See my Archive.) I think I've seen it all at this point. Fights. Dramas. Lock downs. Close downs. Changes (so many changes). New companies (so many companies).

This LJ stays where it is. It has a mirror on Dreamwidth, same username. But I am NOT reading there, OK? I'm even pointing out that the main blog is here in my DW profile. This is where I follow communities and such. And the few friends I do have and can keep up with. You're free to friend there to of course, but I thought you'd know how I work with it. There's links below on every post.

Right.

Back to... whatever you've been doing.

I've been organizing my files today. And made a bunch of phone calls. Tomorrow I'll be doing some more phone calls, because that's my jam when on sick leave, apparently.

*poke poke* This thing on?

I actually enjoy the place I work at right now. Believe it or not. Even if a friend of mine who is in training to become a bodyguard asked if he should come work for me instead...

It's located in the area in this city with the most refugees and refugee kids and it's... probably one of the most troubled schools in the city. But guess what? Even though shit happens ALL THE TIME and I work my ass off (believe it or not), I actually enjoy the place.

Mostly because the staff is GREAT! And come summer, I get to pack up the library and move it from the shitty place we're at now and move to the newly built school. And get a WHOLE NEW LIBRARY! Now if that don't make a girl excited, I don't know what will.

I also try to make good things for the kids at this school with a bit of different class-visits from me and also for the bigger kids I finally (FINALLY!) managed to get the artist Dogge Doggelito to come to the school! YES! *fistbump* He'll be GREAT there since he has grown up JUST like these kids basically.

I just hope I get to stay there. My predecessor and previous collaguege is just on a leave from work trying on another job until June. So he COULD come back, but I highly doubt it. His health wouldn't allow it, I don't think. He has a lot of health issues, and working at this school IS stressful, so his health ain't doing to good when working here. :-P

So in other words, I'm doing really good. Just stressing around like nobodies business. Alexandra and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is doing great to.

Peting got his diagnosis of diabetes not hugely long ago, but is doing fine and getting used to it as well. He is doing a bender with sugar when we have birthday parties or christmas, but other than that he is REALLY strict with his food. So he is doing great. Still sleeping long though *grump*, but doing good.

Alexandra is quite cross eyed, so we're struggling with that. Since she won't cooperate with the doctor. She is going hysterical as soon as anyone tries to examine her or make her do something. So that's not very funny. The doctor hasn't been able to do a proper examination, which means she'll most liekly have to be sedated next time we go there. *sigh* Anything to make sure her eyesight develops properly though.

I'm doing good to, health wise! My broken leg did heal up as it should, so it's doing great. Still struggling with my sugar-addiction, but working on it (ricecakes and tea has become my thing). I do have a longer and a shorter leg, however. Never given me issues before in my entire life, but now my hip on my longer leg has started to protest a little. So we'll see if it continues to do that or not. I might have to do something about it. But that is the ONLY THING! :-)

Life moves on as it should. Alexandra grows so fast it's crazy. She's turning 4 years this summer, can you believe it?

Also I've cleaned out all my inboxes and I feel damn accomplished.

One hell of a sharing post!

Yeah, it's time for one of them sharing posts again... :-) Next post is going to be about Midsummer. ;-) And after that I have some serious issues I need to get down in words. But first! Strap in and lets go!

As you might remember I visited the swedish festival Sweden Rock! And it was amazing. I went there to see Mötley Crüe. And even though they got really bad criticism for their performance, I really liked it. It was amazing!

Girls, Girls, Girls... )

Home )

Sorry about the quality. I just wanted to share that to me was an AMAZING night! I know they aren’t perfect, but they’re good at catching the audience, and it was amazing to see them live, it really was.

And onwards!

Not that long ago, I discovered this, which I found really interesting. You’re short on money? You need a computer? I give you Chip, a computer you can get for 9$. I admit, I’m curious. It’s not that much money, so maybe I should get one? To have as backup? I bet [livejournal.com profile] peting73, who is a serious computer geek, would find it really cool to have and poke around with as well. Decisions decisions…

Chip 9$ Computer - Kickstarter

They’ve reached their goal and some, so it’s ready and available to order… *considers*

Next subject!

I kinda love [livejournal.com profile] steinsgrrl for sharing this with me. I keep reading all the comments and stories shared on this Reddit page, and it’s SO FREEING, my female friends! My vagina is not abnormal or strange in anyway! There are vaginas that are stranger than mine! NOTHING IS ABNORMAL! X-D Also, guys. You should read this. Just to see what we’re going through on an everyday basis. ;-)

Reddit: Girls and their vaginas

YouTube is a strange and wonderful place… You dip your toe in and you never know where you end up. Here’s some various stuff I’ve found on YouTube or that are connected to YouTube in one way or another.

This short just about broke my heart. The ending especially when you REALLY get what the little short is about… Bring your tissues, folks!

Gift... )

There’s a swedish guy from refugee parents who live in Sweden and he’s… blunt would be to kind a word. But he has some really interesting views on Sweden and our culture, our politics, our social safety net, our immigrants and refugees… Pretty much hot the climate is in Sweden (and I’m not talking about the weather). Not all his vids are in swedish, although most are. Those that are, like this one, has subtitles. And I’ve checked, their good and has the correct translation.

Islam and Pedofilia... )

Here’s an article with an added trailer on YouTube about how it is to come out of the closet as a MtF transgender when you’re quite young. This girl did so on YouTube and found a supportive community there. And a movie-maker saw her and she got a role in a movie that tells the story how it is to be a transgender MtF girl. Of course there’s more to it than that, it’s a good article, but it ends with a role in a movie for her. The trailer is in the article, and I will admit I am very curious at the movie, Boy Meets Girl! It looks really good!

Boy Meets Girl - Movie and the story

Right and change of subject again! You still with me? You’re doing good! *lol*

If you read my posts you know I absolutly HATE Fifty Shades of Grey. I hate Twilight to, but that’s nothing compared to how much I hate Fifty Shades of Grey. And I’ve READ THEM! ALL THREE!!!

Anyway, here’s some articles and vids that I hope will make you think twice about reading them…

Unless you’ve lived under a rock, you’d know there’s abuse in these books.

Here’s an article that, like so many others, points out where and how the abuse shows itself in the books:

There Are NO Grey Areas When Defending Abuse

And yes, she’s rewriting her books from Grey’s perspective… yeah… *cough* Here’s The Guardian’s reaction to that:

Fifty Shades of 'nope': we don't need a reboot from the man's perspective

Now to two vids. It’s both terrifying and interesting to see these. The movie comes with it’s own set of concerns and weirdness. Everything wrong, obviously shows everything wrong with 50 Shades. Abuse and all.

But what I really liked was the Film Theory. Where they compare Christian Grey to the leader of a cult. How Grey follows the same steps pretty much. Now that was terrifying. And girls WANT a man like this? WTF?

Everything Wrong With Fifty Shades Of Grey In 18 Minutes Or Less... )

Film Theory: Fifty Shades of Grey Cult Theory... )

And to end this LOOOONG post, let’s have some feel good after that, yeah?

These two vids I am watching when I need a pick me up after a long or bad day. :-) They never fail to make me smile! I hope they will do the same to you.

Old Men Grooving... )

Britians got talent just never fail to deliver. *grins* There’s more vids with these old guys, btw. They made it all the way to the finals!

Old men grooving on YouTube

And lastly I stumbled on THIS article about a son that made a special personal ad for his mom… REALLY special!

Looking for Adam... )

And that’s it! Having finished that (finally!), I will now go do something useful... ;-)

A HUGE sharing post to be enjoyed by one and all!

I have a bunch of stuff to share right now, so... have a sharing post! Filled with, hopefully, stuff that'll be amusing, interesting, thought-provoking or... just plain old fun. :-)

I'll start off with a swedish link for those swedes and/or scandinavians that might read this place. :-) A link about how tough girls who love horses REALLY are... written by a man and discussing the difference between the so called macho-hobbies that boys usually do and what it really takes to care for a horse and ride it to...
Häst-tjejer VS Macho-män
(Google-translate link that is so, so... but understandable in english, right HERE!, let me know if some words do not make sense.)

The comments on that article are pretty awesome to, with some brilliant stories. :-)

Another swedish link, since I sat laughing at this an entire evening when reading it. X-D And this link is VERY NSFW! The name says it all really: Telefonhoran / Phonehooker. It is a woman who worked on a hotline, talking sex with guys who paid for her time. And in this blogg she put up examples of what kind of phone-calls and costumers she had. And dude... DUDE! X-D The people she had to talk to! Some men, I mean... Really? SEIROUSLY??? X-D I could do this. EASILY! *laughs*
Telefonhorans Blogg
Google translate link that is so, so... but again somewhat understandable in english right HERE. If you need help with words or sentances, ask me!)

Fun , eh? X-D Onwards!

Some more fun! This was hilerious, and I laughed my ass off watching this vid! These two guys are apparently vid-bloggers and good friends... and again, apparently, they have a fan-following... that writes M/M fanfiction about them. And they found said fanfiction and are in this vid reading it aloud! It cracked me up. SO BAD! Just think if any of the TH-boys would do this! X-D Good lord...

Fanfiction comes to life! )

Now tell me you didn't laugh your ass of just now watching that... ;-) X-D They are really getting into it, aren't they? X-D

To keep on the gay side of life... well, at least when it comes to all sorts of fiction! Here's a great little article/blogg-post/what have you about how awesome it really is that there are a lot of women out there that write about gay-romance! :-D It is a great piece of reading, since it goes from how did I get into this? And how do I work it now? :-D I loved reading it anyway!
The face of Gay

Next is a vid that will make sure you don't need drugs.. *lol* Watching this and doing exactly as it tells you to will make you allucinate! I am not even joking. My walls were moving for a couple of seconds when I tried it... I didn't believe it would work, but dude. It did. Pretty cool!

Trippy - this video will make you hallucinate! )

Then another awesome thing I stumbled upon the other day. I think I found a new band to fangirl! *lol* This band, The Mini Band, is really really awesome! The oldest member is 12 years old... A few years ago they made a vid where they played the song Enter Sandman by Metallica that went viral on YouTube (when they were 8-10 years old). So viral, in fact, that Metallica themselves saw it... and made a video-message for them kids. How cool is THAT??? :-D

Enter Sandman - The vid that went viral and Metallica saw... )

The video message from Metallica to The Mini Band! )

Those kids probably peed their pants when their idols actually sent them a message! :-D So awesome! Here's them kids website, btw! Well worth a checkout, since they are now writing and recording THEIR OWN MUSIC! Did I mention the oldest one is currently 12 years old? Yeah, just... WOW...
The Mini Band!

Talking of bands, let's fangirl a bit over Tokio Hotel! Or well... laugh at these AWESOME badly drawn fanart! X-D And yes. They are badly drawn. (Stick-figures.) And yes, they are awesome! (Such a wonderful sense of humor!) And yes, you can send them a message on Tumblr asking for a drawing! :-D
I SURE DID!!! And after that, I THANKED THEM! As one should. ;-) They seem to be a fun bunch, and I do wholeheartedly recommend this Tumblr!
Badly Drawn Tokio Hotel!

Now to get a lil serious... After recent events, it is easy to lose faith in humanity. But we have to remember there are some really awesome people around to! As this list shows! Really, those people mentioned rock SO HARD!
20 images that will restore your faith in humanity

Also, as most of you probably know, I really REALLY hate Twilight with a burning passion! I do... And 50 Shades of Grey is just worse, since it is a badly written Twilight fanfiction that made everything that made me hate Twilight even worse. It is THAT bad... And still there are those out there that say that Christian Grey (Edward Cullen copy, and the so called white knight and romantic lead of the book) is the best man ever and eveyrone should strive to get such a man.

Excuse me while I throw up.

This is the reason why we whould not strive for such a man. Warning for triggery subjects. I kid you not.

Need more evidence that 50 Shades is about an abusive relationship?!

It is scary what kids read these days sometimes...

And while we are on the subject, this is BRILLIANTLY written and shows the difference on how women and men is portrayed in the media. I loved it. Read it and give it a good think-through.

Jon Hamm Needs To Stop Dressing Like a Total Slut

Also, remember THIS VID that pretty much went viral... well, almost. And is damn impressive, I won't lie... Why do I get the feeling it was only made to draw attention and as a commercial vid for THIS website selling a yoga-product? Might be because the damn vid appears and is mentioned all over the site, pretty much! :-/ Really put a downer on something that impressive, don't it? Bet they got a lot of costumers when said vid went viral. :-P

Anyway, sorry to end on a bit of a downer-note, but it just happened that way. Onwards with life, eh?

*does just that*

Life and such...

I have three email addresses, which is quite good. One for LJ and fandom, one for work-related stuff and one for the rest. The work-related is mostly empty... But the random-stuff inbox has lately exploded... o.O I just went through it and cleaned it up. 40 (!) new emails... GEEZES! How the hell did that happen?!?!

And I am so SOOOO Behind on answering comments on LJ to... Sorry everyone. I'll get to it, I promise!

At least I am all caught up on my f-list... :-P

Alexandra has been very well behaved, I'd say. Of course, she wants to hang out with mom and dad a lot, but that is expected. :-) She is starting to smile more and more and seek out eye contact if you are close to her face... And today she tried to mimic me when I made funny faces and poked my tongue out at her. I laughed my ass off... X-D The faces that baby can pull, GAWD! X-D

Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] peting73 goes back to work after staying home for 6 weeks... I'll miss having him here for sure. Both for his own sake and for the help he has been with Alexandra. I am, admittedly a bit nervous about being alone with her. I am sure we'll be fine, but it'll be a first day tomorrow. I want to take a walk with her in her pram. I hope I'll manage that on my own...

So yeah, just wanted to let you all know I am not dead and I haven't forgotten you all. :-D

Me, Frenchie and Sweetie...

See, now I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. :-)

My backed up files from Frenchie has been transfered to Sweetie, so now I have everything where I want it all to be again. AWESOME! Now I feel more at home with Sweetie. :-) Sweetie is much quicker then my old comp, so it is a joy to use her really. Haven't got WoW to work properly yet with addons and what not, but hey... I'll play around with that tomorrow. I am sure I'll figure it out by then. :-) And I've gotten Microsoft Office to work to! YAY! I haz Word again... Awesome, awesome...

Was late with posting to [livejournal.com profile] gs_daily, but that was to be expected. My partner in crime, [livejournal.com profile] rule_number_7, was well aware off it so we'll just call it a hickup in posting. That works, right? ;-)

Worked a bit today, and it was busy! REALLY busy at the library! They had open storytime for little kids today... Meaning A LOT of kids! LOUD kids! And stressed parents... and stressed patrons who don't like the loud kids... and patrons with weird questions...

In a way I was glad I only worked three hours today. :-P I like kids, I really do! But with that many kids? Things get a bit.... crazy, shall we say...?

After work I went to take a swim, which was LOVELY! I kept it up for 1 hour, so I was seriously beat after that. o.O Coming home, I just had energy to make the bed and eat. Then I collapsed on the sofa, taking a nap.... that turned into two hours! o.O NOT PLANNED! But I guess I needed it. *lol*

Dead, deader, my computer...

Oh dear me, what a day...

Me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had a good plan for today... We really did.

Then when I was to check my twitter with breakfast this morning... my computer went belly up. It died. No, scratch that, it didn't even react to anything at all. :-/ We couldn't start it or anything. No matter what [livejournal.com profile] peting73 did, he couldn't get it to wake up. So. It died. 5 years I had that computer. Got it as a gift from [livejournal.com profile] peting73 when I turned 30. We've changed the graphics card in it once, but that apparently didn't help. According to [livejournal.com profile] peting73, it was most likely the motherboard AND parts of the hard-drive that went and died on me. Fuck.

Considering we are working on re-doing our apartment, buying a new computer was NOT in the budget. And we kinda HAVE to re-do parts of the apartment. There is nothing else to do there...

And me? Well, my economy is fucked as always (it's been since I was a student). I got a good salary this month, but I had a ton of old bills to pay, so... :-/ And what does hubby do? Just goes online to see where there is good computers... Picks one out that he knows will be good for me. (He knows what I am doing online and such, after all...) And then goes buy it. No complaints, just comments that if I don't have one, I'll go crazy. And he'd prefer me not-crazy.

Gawd, I love that man SO MUCH!

I hope I'll get a good salary next month to. I'll pay him back. As much as I can at least. So much love for him.

So now I am trying to get used to a new computer. Gladly I update my bookmarks with regularity on MyBookmarks.Com and I have a external HD that I have named Frenchie, since it is a french brand, LaCie. I always make sure to copy all my files to Frenchie at least once a week. So I didn't lose that much. Thank gawd... And nearly no bookmarks either. So awesome.

My new computer is an Asus computer. ASUS CM6730-NRCH45. It is a really cute little computer, really good one. Half as big as [livejournal.com profile] peting73s, in size. And not as powerful as his either, but then again. He got one of those crazy monster gamer-computers. The only game I play is World of Warcraft, and it doesn't require quite as powerful a computer. :-) Good parts with playing a game that's been around for 7 years... ;-)

So I named my computer Sweetie, since it looks so small and sweet next to [livejournal.com profile] peting73s. X-D So we got The Friendly Monster and Sweetie in the nerdcorner. X-D

Still feel somewhat guilty about my computer dying, even if it isn't that much I could have done about it... Still I do. :-P It was just really shitty timing, is all.

Chrome and comp problems, pains and lost friends...

I think my computer is slowly starting to give up on me. :-/ Not good. It still works, and I do frequent backups on my external HD (nicknamed Frenchie) to make sure I don't lose anything. Still. It is a sad thing. I've had this thing for nearly five years now, and it has never complained or done anything stupid before. The only thing I use it for is the net, Word and World of Warcraft. :-/ Poor comp... *pats it*

My Firefox ain't working 100% properly anymore, so I figured I'd use Chrome instead. I've used it a bit at work, and I kinda like it. BUT! I couldn't get my bookmarks to work in Chrome. Anyone knows how to add bookmarks in Chrome? I am totally confused. :-P

Since Tuesday afternoon I've been in quite a great deal of pain, and as such felt like shit... Still worked though. Nearly half the staff at the big city library have been sick, and when the staff gets sick? They call in us who are hired by the hour. Sure, I could call them and tell them I am sick to. But I was just in pain. And sick as it sounds, I am quite used to be in pain. My pain threshold is... quite high. So I worked. And it was OK. The staff, my workmates, were worried and checked with me several times during the days. I hope the visitors to the library didn't notice. Only difference was that when I was to show them something in the shelfs, I walked a bit slower... But that is all.

The pain subsided this morning. :-P Not on my period, so it isn't menstrual cramps, even if it is in the same area... I do suspect it is my Endometriosis that is being an ass anyway. Probably got more cysts or something. Yay. Or not. :-/

And to those in the Tokio Hotel fandom on my f-list? At least the oldies that has been around for a while? Anyone heard anything from [livejournal.com profile] demon_kyo? Kinda worried about that girl...

Right. Off to bed. Work tomorrow to. And a check up at the Docs to see about that pain.

Life... sorta...

Crap. I wanted to watch Pillars of the Earth as it airs on swedish television, but I missed the first part. No big deal, says you, but hey... Swedish television airs two parts at a time. Bah. :-/ Oh well, I'll watch part 3-4 tonight. Maybe I can follow on in the story anyway, who knows? If nothing else, I am sure [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit can fill me in. She loves those books. :-P (She just told me you could by the thing on DVD... Tempting...)

Have also come to the conclusion I need to buy Windows 7 or a new Windows Vista... Since my Vista is about to give up. :-/ Not amused, people. Apparently a file has given up in the computer and hence, Vista can't update itself. And since it was installed when ordering the computer, I don't have the disk. Oh, how fun... :-P Not.

It is happening a lot with my character at the vampire-LARP to (via emails and communities)... Mostly political stuff, but fun as well! Will probably affect a lot of things during the LARP on Saturday. :-) I am really looking forward to that. :-D

Haven't done much today. It is a holiday here in Sweden today, so was off work. Just been lazy. :-) Has been quite nice, actually! Fiddled around a little with Second Life. Hasn't been logged in for a long, long time. Created another account with a male character. Lets explore that gay boy I have inside, eh? ;-) Doing my damdest to gay him up! *laugh* I'll post screen shots later. ;-)

Now I'll go off and watch Pillars of the Earth 3-4. So I missed half the thing... So what! I'll watch it anyway. :-P

On how to convert files.... and memes!

Haven't done much of use today either, but at least I feel like I have more energy today. Progress? I guess. Called [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and chatted a bit. We did make some plans for this week. She is going to help me with the [livejournal.com profile] th_apex vid, since I kinda need a camera man as it were. :-P I hope I can convert the files from .avi to .mp4 or .mpg. Have no idea how to do that, but I'll try. I got a link to Zamzar.Com. If that don't work, I don't know what to do. :-P I guess I'll just send her the .avi file anyway then. :-/ I hope she won't be to pissed of. Anyone have any other ideas how to convert files? I am all ears... or eyes as the case my be. :-P

Anyway, to end this have two memes. :-)

Day 02- Picture of your favorite G

Oh, this is a really tough one. I like both Gustav and Georg equally, but since I have been more into Gustav lately, I guess I have to pick Gustav. To be frank, I like them G's more then I like the twins. I don't know why, I just do. And hey... Gustav got them broad shoulders, muscled back and muscled arms I am a softy for, so... :-P Gustav Schäfer, the drummer it is. :-) (HQ photo, so don't click if you don't wanna see big.)

Beware Internetz... Mom's got access...

Good grief. The world is coming to end.

My mom was afraid of computers before. I am not joking. But as an assistant nurse she was finally forced to use them, since most off the medical records was... on a computer. So, she went to a short introduction course (that she hated, since she didn't get along with the teacher). It did help her get over a bit off her fear though. After that, she worked on the computers at work. Little by little her fear melted away. Then she was sacked after working there for 20-25 years. (Long story that.) Then, just like me, she started to look for a new job. Not depressed she threw herself head-first in. Finding a job-coach she got a lot off help. And discovered that most things that you need to do when your unemployed today, you need to do... on a computer. On the internet. So, after thinking about it for almost a year she finally took the plunge this weekend... and bought herself a laptop, a printer and mobile access to the internet.

When she told me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 about her plan during our Christmas-visit, she made damn sure we were sitting down. And a good thing that was to, since she really shocked us. We helped her get her stuff this weekend. A good laptop for her needs (it might be a bit better then she needs, even...She got an ASUS-computer.), but she was happy as a clam! The rest off the weekend we had computer practice here. My mom is a total novice. And I mean it. We had to teach her how to turn the thing on and how to turn it off... Little by little, though, she became more curious and brave. She got an email-address now and have learned how to save bookmarks. She has to keep track off me, Josse and Ella-Bella, of course, on our bloggs. Yeah. Mom isn't that good with english, but she gets most off it. So she might be reading this. *shrug* It is nothing new to her anyway. She knows I am a perv. ;-) *blows kiss to mom* She has bought Windows Office to, so she can use Word, so we thought her that as well, at least the basics. It was such a blast watching mom learning how to use the computer, I must say. She squeeked and giggled! Froze in horror! Asked us if she did something wrong (when in fact she did perfectly fine). Told the computer where to stick it... Etc, etc... Oh, it was hilarious! And in the midst off it all, she learned. And as me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 told her: There is only one way to get the hang off it, and it is practice, practice, practice. Now she has promised to practice a little bit each day. I will be checking her on that one. ;-)

So, yeah. It has been an interesting and fun weekend. :-D Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] astroflammante and [livejournal.com profile] tekiila is coming over to stay here until Friday. The apartment is moderately clean. At least I won't have to be embarrassed. ;-)

Internet-fail...

Been somewhat busy days these days, and next week will be worse, since I'll have mom staying over this weekend and then next week I'll have friends staying over a couple off nights. Good things. But it does keep me busy, don't it? :-P

This Monday night: All off a sudden, we can't get to the internet. It ain't working. Cue both off us being slightly irritated and spending the night in front of the TV. :-/

This Tuesday on my way from work I call [livejournal.com profile] peting73 asking him if the internet is working. Answer: Our router is dead. But it is OK, he says. He got the internet to work on one computer. His. Cue me swearing like a sailor. And when I get home grabbing [livejournal.com profile] peting73 to go to the store to return it. The router was less then a year old. We got there ten minutes before the store closed. Phew. We talked and they said sure, something is wrong here, but we'll have to send it to the workshop. You'll get it back in about two weeks...

.....

Two weeks. Cue us being slightly depressed. The store cleric saw this I guess, and she said they used to have a loner, but it was broken. Cue us being more depressed. Just our luck. She took our router in the back to send it off and just to check to make sure. We waited. She returned with a loner. Cue us being extremely happy! I even offered to kiss her! (She was cute.)

When we got home it didn't take [livejournal.com profile] peting73 long to install the loner router, so now all works without a charm. Must have been something wrong with our router since it works now. Hopefully that means we'll get a new one.

Right. Tonight I have been at [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbits and sewn some more on my pirate coat. The lining is now done. Next goal to fix the sleeves and cuffs for the coat itself. So far what we have done is looking damn awesome. :-) I owe [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit so much for helping me with all this stuff.

We fixed my winter hat this saturday to. It is made using the skill "nålbindning" (needle-binding) and to make it thicker and fitting my head better, we had to mill it. And while we were at it, we milled a pair off mittens I have done in the same skill. That hat is the best winter-hat I have EVER had. It is so damm epic. I love it. It has kept my head very warm these days when it has been crazy cold.

[livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit made a picspam off our shenanigans in the laundry rooms while we milled my winter hat. :-) Go look! Right HERE!

Right, so after all sewing and what not... I think it is time for bed. :-)

Facebook warnings, Twilight idiocy and awesome librarians!

I encourge any and all that have Facebook to read this article:
Facebook is turning evil for profit... Facebook no longer as safe as before.

After reading that, I am so, so happy I don't have a Facebook. And I won't be getting one, despite all the invites and questions from friends and family. It just won't happen girls and boys. Just saying. I am feeling much more at home here, thank you. Here I decide how much I want to share, and what I want to share. :-P

[livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit posted one off those awesome links that show just how insane Twilight fans are.... They don't even get it when they are being played at... X-D Check this out:
Twilight vampire intervention

Anyway, today has been all kinds off awesome. I was invited along to a Planning-day and Christmas-celebration thing at my bosses boss's home. Quite awesome, I must say. :-) Lots off boring planning was done, and after that there was a ton off awesome Christmas-food. And after that we played a Christmas-gift-game... Yeah. You read that right. It involved dices and gifts. And it was really, really fun. Again it is proved that the librarians I work with are awesome slightly crazy people. Oh, I'll miss them dreadfully when I won't work with them anymore. I also got almost two weeks off during Christmas and New Years! o.O And they gave me so much praise today for my work, that I blushed and didn't know what to say. I do have trouble taking compliments, so... I love working as a librarian, I really and honestly do. Especially with people like this. To bad it is just as a trainee. :-/

After that I went and shopped the last off the Christmas-gifts. ALL DONE NOW! Fuck yeah! And thank gawd for second hand stores. Seriously. Not only are they cheap, but they have so much odd stuff you can find gifts to anyone. Just what I needed because I had the most troublesome people on my list left. There, all solved. YAY! :-D

Oh well. Almost caught up with my flist. :-) Tomorrow we'll clean out the apartment (it is very needed) and then we'll go to the vampire-LARP in the evening! :-D Woot! Will be a great weekend this, I just know it!

Stuff...

This has been a pretty lazy day, let me tell you. Discovered in the morning that the american TV show So you think you can dance? was on in the morning, and I so love to watch dancing, so I got stuck there for quite a long time. It ended up with me not taking my shower until around 1pm. X-D Yeah. Lazy. I needed that. Tomorrow morning we are going to the baptism of my brothers son in the morning, so... Only sad thing is that I am missing [livejournal.com profile] astroflammantes birthday bash. I hope they are having a blast all those girls. :-) Miss you guys!

Been at the computer all day. And am not ashamed off saying it. Have read up on all my different friends lists that I have. All fandoms. And did something I really shouldn't have done. I did a search on LJ for Tokio Hotel. Baaaaad idea. X-D Was to many fun communities about that. I really, really need to start to clean out my community list. It is starting to be ridiculous. The longest lists are the Pirates communities and the Blinkie/Icon communities. Need at least start to clean out those. And all those I don't read anymore. I mean, why should I stay in communities I am not even active in? It will take some time going through all my communities though... *sigh* Better leave that to Monday.

For now, I'll call [livejournal.com profile] astroflammante and sing Happy Birthday to her, and then I'll play some World of Warcraft. :-)

Edit: Dang it. They aren't answering on there phones. :-/

ARGH, WTH! X-/

It died on me. My computer screen. I am not amused. That was all kinds off annoying. Especially in the end of the month. And this month have been kinda expensive to. Fun things were done for said money, but still. And now this. And as soon as anything on my computer breaks, I feel guilty. Although I hadn't done anything to do so! As [livejournal.com profile] peting73 says, electronics can just decide one day to go belly up. Just like that.

Oh well. So, after we helped his mom to move some stuff to her new apartment, and throw away some heavy thrash (car was needed), we went and bought a new computer screen. And it is huge! o.O The difference in price between buying one the same size I used to have and a bigger one wasn't that big, so we went with big screen. :-) I R very very happy! [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is so, so nice to me. I sometimes feel I don't deserve it.

So, this is my new computer screen, Samsung Syncmaster T220. It is, indeed huge. It will take some time to get used to. But man... World of Warcraft looks gorgeous, I tell you!!!! o.O

Also, I got a lot of comments on my [livejournal.com profile] adayinmylife post today! That was fun! I gotta do that again. :-) You can read them all HERE if you want to.

Weekend... and most importantly... VAMPIRE-LARP!!!

What a weekend this has been! Gawd... Not to mention last week when all hell broke lose at work to. Seems my work-mates don't like me no more. Only three off them that actually talk to me during the day. Not to mention I get these papers they want me to sign, that breaks alot of the rules with the Union. So yeah. It is... complicated at work right now. To say the least.

Weekend was awesome though! Even though Friday started less then good. Our router died. And our modem died. So no internets. [livejournal.com profile] peting73 spent the entire Friday trying to fix it. (He has Fridays off at the moment to now.) Lets just say, he was not pleased. A paced the apartment like an animal in a cage. In a bad temper. I didn't bother him much, since a) he knows what he is doing, I don't and b) why make him more angry then he is? So, I watched a lot off Xena, did a bit off embroidery, went downtown and cut my hair then home and coloured my hair (dark brown as always). And. I finally started to read Breaking Dawn. Last book in the Twilight series. I got ten pages into it before I started swearing. Yeah... I should probably post my review/sporking thing off Eclipse the third book soon....

Saturday it was LARP-day. :-) Always good! So it didn't matter that I didn't have internet that day, especially since we left so early to go to the local we rent. We had our annual meeting this Saturday. And it went surprisingly well! :-D The steering committee of the LARP is the same this year, as last year. Me as secretary and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 as vice president and our friends that we worked with last year as president and cash administrator and commissioner. All good, I say! :-D

And after that... we LARPed... Oh.MY.GAWD! X-D I laughed so much I was laying with my head down on a table crying getting belly aches. It was INSANE! It was quite a long time ago I had so much fun.

Well, Rose is at the moment in love. Like seriously in love. The other vampire is the center of her universe. So, before the evening started, like say the day before, she went and visited him. He, who used to love Rose as much to, had by some magical thing, forgotten this. (I haven't figured out how yet...) And didn't love her at all any longer. Basically he broke her hearth, but as the gentleman he is (the character in question has been around since the crusades...) he read her a bedtime story (Rose loves that!) and made sure she slept the day away in one off his guest rooms. He on the other hand went to his own room... promptly locking the door since earlier Rose had tried to make her way down his pants... Rose, who is a very light sleeper, woke first doing her damnedest to get in to his room. No success. And he didn't wake up from the raccuss, since he is a deep sleeper! Oh, the insanity! Anyway. She didn't get her way with him, despite her great efforts, which saddened her greatly. During this scene, when we talked everything through me and the guy playing Rose love-interest was both laying on the table laughing so hard we were both crying! Good lord...

Later during the evening while all the vampires had there gathering a huge fight broke out! And everyone blamed Rose love-interest (a bit rightly so, actually...). Basically it was just chaos with lots of vampires that wanted to rip each others throats out, and especially his. Rose panicked, and used one of her abilities that makes everyone that hears her go totally berserk insane. Yeah.... That added just a bit more chaos. When the dust settled, no one was harmed, but everyone was still pissed off. Her love interest and one of the oldest vampires in the city left to discuss the matter that started it all in a room. Rose didn't wanna leave him alone, since she still feared for his life, so she followed them there. So did a few others. Her lover asked Rose to go find his weapon, which she did, since she loves him so much she can't deny him anything. Coming back, another vampire used her powers on Rose that dominated her mentally so she left the room. On the way out another vampire, a very clever pickpocket, took... her... doll....

See, Rose is mentally instable in normal circumstances... when she has her doll. When her doll is not present, close to her side.... she can't function mentally AT. ALL. :-)

Basically she went totally berserk trying to get back in the room. Some other vampires had to use force on her to knock her out. Then the leader of her clan, the oldest of them took her with him home to his haven, and promptly nailed her to the wall. (He, like all other vampires of the clan Malkavian ain't exactly mentally stable either...)

And there she is. X-D So, I can't play her at the moment, and it might take some time before I can again. It is both a good and a bad thing. I needed to take a break from her, since I have been pretty bored with her lately. Maybe with some vacation from Rose, she'll be fun again? I sent a mail to our game-masters asking for another character to play, something sneaky and evil that they need so can wreak havoc for the other players in the game! Mwahahahaha! X-D

Comps and tattoos, oh my!

Not so fun with this virus warning going around, is it? Of course hackers would turn there eyes on LJ. I am not surprised, but it annoys me at the same time. Gladly my little community is quite small, so I doubt they would target that. :-P You can read about it more HERE.

Was quite interesting last night when [livejournal.com profile] peting73 decided to re-install Windows on his near-to-death computer... Just for the hell of it... at around 2am in the middle of the night... Yeah. Thats smart. :-P Not. But it worked. So now he can do a little on his computer at least. Most importantly, he can play WoW... Peace in the household is restored. It still dies now and then, so yeah... New comp come Friday... Hopefully.

Also, checked with the new tattoo-studio to see what kind of people it was there... And lo and behold, the artist there is the same one that tattooed Xena's weapons on me! :-D He remembered me to! Neat. Problem was, if I want another tattoo made by him, I'll have to wait until end off July, beginning of August... Thats how long his "line" is. On the other hand, he is very good... I have heard rumors about a really good tattoo-artist in a neighboring city to, Ulricehamn. The son of a work-mate off mine has a tattoo made there, I have seen pictures of it. It was gorgeous and very detailed. So I'll go there to check that one out to.

Yeah. I got the tattoo itch again. Badly. :-P Can't say watching Miami Ink and LA Ink helps... *head-desk*
