This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

WTF, Game of Thrones? Seriously? UGH.

First though, health. I'm getting a cold. Again. And it has made it's home in my throat. Again. *grump* I did stupid this weekend digging around among my medieval clothing and stuff, and to say my asthma went high wire then would be an understatements. Stupid. So to say my breathing has been fucked up these last couple of days would be an understatement. :-(

Visited my brother Sunday which is always awesome. :-)

And today I had Dogge Doggelito coming to the school to have lectures for the 15 and 16 year old kids. Man, he was AWESOME! And such a nice guy all around. :-D Worked ten hours though and with the above mentioned health issue, I am now EXHAUSTED!

But I did have energy for Game of Thrones. And I liked most of it. I did. I especially liked Theon and Sansa, although seeing Theon leaving was... sad. :-/ I liked him with Sansa, but I guess the guilt was to much for him poor guy. I don't think his sister will be happy to see him back though...

And Ramsey Bolton, wtf with that character!?!?! Anyone with even the littlest bit triggers need to just change the channel as soon as he shows up. For serious. And now he'll be even more dangerous. Especially since he disposed of his newborn brother and his father. Dude. Cold.

No sign of Daenerys yet, but on the other hand we got some sign of life from Bran Stark, which was nice. And we got a flash back from Eddards childhood. Really sweet! (Oh, Hodor is apparently a mystery to! Interesting!) And hey, Max von Sydow played the three eyed raven! MAX FUCKING VON SYDOW! I love that old man! He is SUCH a great actor and has SUCH a presence even at the age of 87 years old. Dude. He'll probably die in front of the camera. He is AMAZING! I love him.

Sorry about the fangirling there...

Then there's Thyrion who probably have the biggest freaking balls of them all. He's a dwarf and he goes to release two dragons that probably just sees him as food... Only they don't, and man, that scene was AMAZING!

But what really bugged the hell out of me was... Jon Snow. I never really liked Jon. He was to good. To noble. To nice. Only time's I could stand him was with his friend Sam. So I was thinking good riddance with him when he was stabbed.

And now the big shocker in the end is that the red woman brought him back (despite having lost her self-confidence and is doubting in her faith).

So now Jon fucking Snow is back.

I'm not happy about that. At all. :-/

I promised to say if I got any fun calls on The Swedish Number as a random swede. And I did some time ago actually. While doing dishes. In my pajamas. X-D

I had made myself available to take calls, and I got a call. And it was from a radio station in Paraguay. And I was suddenly live talking on the air.

...

Yes, I'm not even kidding. X-D We had a bit of a language problem since I couldn't speak spanish and they could barely speak english! *LOL* But we made do, and it worked out moderately fine. They wanted to know why I was taking calls, if I thought it was fun. Approximately where I lived in Sweden (so they could look on a map) and the best things I could recommend about Sweden (NATURE, NATURE, NATURE! And Allemansrätten!).

That was a FUN call! The guys were really cute. One of them could speak moderately well english. And I found out he'd learned it from movies. In particular, the Star Wars movies. Apparently such a big fan, he was called Jedi. Ha ha ha! SO AWESOME! They tracked my twitter down after I gave the name to them, so now I know what the station is called. Mandiorama! A bunch of true gentlemen, to be quite honest! So if you know spanish, well... ;-)

Here's their twitter: @Mandiorama and their Facebook: Mandiorama.

Since then I haven't taken that many calls, though. :-P I've amused myself to catch up on the the swedish TV show Let's Dance instead, which is the swedish version of Dancing with the stars. :-) It's very campy and cheesy and filled with clichés, but I can't help but love it.

I also follow a very nice documentary series that try to understand the many many beggers from Romania we have here in the city were I live, Borås. It has become a problem, and the question is HOW to help all these people the best? The documentary series is not saying it has an answer, it just wants to show that these are people too, they have a reason for being here and have lives like everyone else. It's gut-wrenching to watch, but important to, I believe.

What's more been going on? Not much. After Alexandra's run in with high fevers and that fever cramp, things has been going on as normal with her. Nothing strange there.

We visited mom and celebrated her birthday, which was GREAT! :-D When I asked mom what she wanted she said she wanted socks. OK then! The woman wanted socks, she’ll get socks. *LOL* So I bought a lot of fun ones from SockDreams. Made me giggle, and I knew mom would love it. :-)

Only problem was that for some reason they had some problem in the US, namely LA, when the package was to be shipped, so I didn’t get it until it was too late. And I’d ordered it with plenty time to! So she got some flowers instead and we decided she’d get her gift when next we meet.

Two days after we got home, her socks arrived. Which Alexandra thought was so much fun, so day after they’d arrived she decided that we were going to post grandma a package with her socks. *LOL* And Alexandra was SOOOO DETERMINED! So we wrapped them up, we sorta wrote a letter and after dinner we went to the nearest post office and posted it. Alexandra thought it was SO MUCH FUN!

Alexandra and the package to grandma! )

Silly girl. *lol* Mom loved to get a surprise package though, so I’d call it a success. :-)

Work, well… it’s insane as ever. Preparations for our move from our temporary premises is in full swing behind the scenes. I’ve seen furniture and shelves for the new library presented from four companies, and it looks wonderful. Once everyone else have decided what company they like the most, it’ll be decided and work to start furnish the school and library will start. This a slow process though, and I’m already stressed over August when school starts up again. (That’s healthy… not.) I’m really looking forward to have a totally fresh and new library though! :-D

When not working I’m totally fangirling online like always. A lot of time goes to roleplaying with @Duodeathstar. And to help [livejournal.com profile] tattooofhername with her MASSIVE fic Transition! Dark, so very dark a fic. But DAMN! It’s SO GOOD! Proud to be a part of that. :-D

Talking off fandom’s and such, one of my new friends on my friendslist, [livejournal.com profile] denorios, has written SUCH an interesting piece of meta on the evolution of fandoms. And it’s SO GOOD! You need to go read it stat! Who is the best fan? The one who followed the band/actor before they were popular? Or the fans that just discovered them? Or are ALL fans just as good? ;-)

What are your thoughts on the evolution of fandom?

You can probably guess my view on the matter. ;-)

Sad thing lately, and well… All of 2016 is all the artistic icons that keep dying this year. Latest in the list is Prince who died last night (my time).
He was such an amazing artist and seemed to have been an amazing human being to. I’m quite sure he’ll be greatly missed. Not only by fans, but family I’m sure.

Here’s Prince’s halftime show from SuperBowl 2007, which is so damn impressive. Pouring rain, lightning and thunder… And what does he do? Rock on in one hell of a halftime show on a slick stage with electric lights, playing several electric guitars and walking around on crazy high heels. The man rocked. Hands down.

So... I decided to cut a bit more in my flist. I'M SO SORRY! I thought I'd be able to keep up the way it was, but... apparently not. I really really hope this was enough of a cut so I can keep up now. Since I kinda don't want to cut more. To those I had to let go, it's been GREAT knowing you!

Anyone is OF COURSE free to cut me from their f-list as well. I don't mind at all. :-)

And now onwards to something totally different.

Easter was great, it really was. We went to my mothers and spent the night and got spoiled. As per usual. :-) Mom's gentleman caller was there to. They spend as much time as they can together. He is really nice, with a great sense of humor and makes my mom very very happy, so I am happy for her.

I did do one stupid thing though. My sensitivity against cats BLEW UP! Because I forgot to eat my meds. :-P You're supposed to eat them a few days before exposure to whatever it is you are allergic or sensitive against, and... I didn't. Stupid. *face-palm* I have no problem with our cats, but moms? Yeah, problem. And I can't help but cuddle with them, because they are GORGEOUS! And LOVES being cuddled. And totally spoiled. :-)

Plus I got to meet my wonderful, wonderful little brother that I love so dearly! And his kids! BONUS! :-D

So we had a great time!

Only sad thing was that when I talked about my job, which I am sorta proud of managing the chaos and I do very much care about the kids... I found out that mom's gentleman caller was somewhat racist. :-/ Fuck. As soon as he found out the amount of refugees it's in the area I work and sorta how many refugee kids there is at the school I work at... The previously relaxed happy talk turned... less so. Geezes. So disappointed. And he clearly hadn't read up, because he didn't need to, according to him. 'That kind of people are always like that.' *head-desk* UGH! So I just stopped him right there and said I would NOT discuss this until he'd read up on shit and knew what the hell he talked about. 'The Koran tells them to kill and harm.' Seriously? BULLSHIT! Open the damn book before you speak! I am so not talking about my job near you ever again.

Anyway, so apart from that, I had a good time. And Alexandra to, which was wonderful. As always though, she hardly ate anything. And then we came home Monday afternoon and she ate to much and to fast and... threw up all over herself at bedtime. *SIGH* So I had to stay home from work one day so she could recover from that.

The three days I did work has... been both lazy and batshit stressful at the same time. Yeah, I don't even know. And there hasn't been any kids in the library either, or the entire school! I got emails about meetings left and right and... Then noticed that on Wednesday and Thursday next week I'm supposed to be at two or three places at the same damn time. WTF??? I had to ask my boss what to give priority to. *shakes head*

Thank heavens it's the weekend now. And this will be a good weekend, I just KNOW it!

Tomorrow I get to sleep how long I want. SO RARE! SO NICE! OMG! I LOVE MY SLEEP INS! And then tomorrow night it's LARP-night. And I'll play my mentally idiotic but physically extremely strong Gangrel vampire... Let's see how much trouble I can get her in this time? X-D I've played her for nearly 4-5 years now, and she's a riot to play. She really is. It has ended up a bit of a sport for me to see how much shit I can get her in and if I can even get her out in one piece. X-D So far so good. She's still alive (sorta) and kicking. ;-)

I also thought the post apocalyptic Fallout LARP last summer would be the last one in that world/setting, but I found out a few weeks ago that there would be a new one this year. Since the city was NOT going to destroy the lovely military training area were it's been held, but instead restore it somewhat and clean up all the shit in the area. AWESOME! Means there will be A LOT of LARP's and soft airgun games and paint ball games and other sorts of nerdy activities there... And the city gets paid a nice rent every time anyone wants to borrow the area. ;-) Win-win for everyone! It really is a perfect place for a post apocalyptic LARP!

And in a couple of weeks there'll be a special vampire-LARP to! Set in the same world we normally play in, but the medieval ages. [livejournal.com profile] peting73 didn't want to go, so told me to. :-D YAY! Gonna be fun!

So... Game of Thrones. I have two more episodes to watch out of season five and I have come to the conclusion that Georg RR Martin and the people working on this show are... batshit insane... and genius.

I don't even have words. All I can keep my fingers crossed for is that Tyrion Lannister will survive. I know you should not have favorites in this show, because EVERY FUCKING ONE is dying but I can't help but love that crazy ass dwarf. Also, Peter Dinklage is bloody amazing.

I still wanna slap some sense in Jon Snow though. STOP BEING SO FUCKING NOBEL!!!

Anyway. Enough of that.

Apart from some lovely relaxation with my online friends, some online-RP each evening, reading on my lovely lovely F-list and just mainly hang out, I have not done that much at home. Energy when getting home from work? I haz none.

Work has been and will continue to be insane. This week was no exception. I like the fact that I had counted on one day to be fucking insane where I had three classes AND had to keep the library open during opening hours... But it was easy sailing that day. And the days where I had only one class and to keep the library open during opening hours was... fucking insane.

As always in this school, count on the unexpected. And never expect anything at all to go according to plans.

I did have some lovely moments in the library with a girl who is a practicing muslim, is a feminist and active as such online, is writing some really powerful poems together with her grandmother and has gotten a book of poems published by her grandmother in a small scale. Did I mention the kid was 16? :-) Kickass girl. She'll go far.

I have more cool girls and boys like that in the library that likes to hang out there because it's like the only moderately calm place in the school. It's just very very cramped and small and dull and boring, what with the temporary premises at the moment. After summer though, I'll have a fresh new library in a fresh new school. I can NOT WAIT!

But to counteract the niceness, of course there was some insane kids to. :-P There was a fight at one point outside the library that it took quite a few teachers to break up. (4-6 teachers, I think?) And with fight I mean a fight involving fists and kicks... :-/ Rest of the kids around just laughed and the fighters claimed they were just joking.

Right. My ass you did. :-/ You don't try to kick a guy in the face as a joke. Thank heavens none of them knew well enough what they were doing.

Then there's the normal mess and mayhem, of course. In which I mean shouting, loud laughing, chairs dragged around or thrown around, books (not the libraries) that is thrown around, phones and keys that has gone missing, teen-drama with crying girls coming to the library, kids that are trying to skip class by sitting in the library (not on my watch), etc, etc, etc... I could go on...

And I told one of the recreation leaders (aka an adult keeping an eye on the kids in the hallways) that was planning a spoken world / poetry slam project for the school at some point, I told her that I had managed to get Dogge Doggelito to the school, since he has the same background as the kids there and has made it, in a way. She, as so many others, are a rapper as well, and she laughed in my face saying he sucked ass and that I should spend money on her and other 'artists' that are already working in the school. Well, excuse me for trying to do something nice for this school. It was as if I'd insulted her by hiring Dogge Doggelito to have lectures at the school. I don't even know...

*sigh* I have mentioned it's slightly chaotic in the school I work, right? Well, yes. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing I apparently thrive in chaos. At least the teachers and most of the kids like me and think I do a good job. Fingers crossed that will continue.

Letter-meme

I got dragged into a meme. Ho boy... I haven't done anything like these in an age and a half. Here goes...

So for this you're supposed to answer these question with words using a certain letter. And I got the letter W from [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip.

....

W.

WFT? Do you guys know how RARE W is in swedish and how bad I am at finding words for that one? Crap. OK. Here goes.

Something I hate: Oh gawd... I don't know.... W... W... W... WAR! Well, of course. Anyone with half a brain hates war. Or so I hope...

Something I love: Work, actually. That one was easy. I do like my work as a school-librarian despite the crazy ass kids. I thrive in chaos, apparently.

Somewhere I've been: West Point. Yes, that school. I was invited to a trip by my host-family to see the ArmyVSNavy football game when I was working as an aupair in the US. Was... quite interesting, to say the least. At least the buildings is down right breath-taking....

Somewhere I'd like to go: I have no idea. I'm sure there's a city starting with W in Australia, in Japan and in the US (Washington DC...), because I'd love to visit all three of them countries.

Someone I know: I can not think of anyone I know very well starting with W. I do have a few people on my f-list though, but we don't talk overly much anymore. If you are into the Buffy-fandom though and like Spike, I do suggest checking out the works of [livejournal.com profile] whichclothes.

A film I like: Walk the line was a movie I did enjoy quite a great deal, to my surprise. Didn't know much about Johnny Cash before watching it. And then there's Wreck it Ralph for the nerd in us (didn't think about that one right away since it's called Röjar-Ralf in swedish...). World of Warcraft hasn't started in the theaters yet, not until June 2016. I can not WAIT to see it though!

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD THIS WAS?!?!? Geezes... I now downright dislike W. :-P

If anyone else dares wants to play, let me know and I'll give you a letter.
