This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

I don’t even know where to start with this post. To say things have been stressful lately would be an understatement.

The Big Move of the library is moving along. It does. But it’s crazy how much WORK it involves moving a library. Fucking crazy. OK, yeah. Packing books. I get that. But it’s just one of us doing that. The other, me, I register books in our new system. We have two teens doing summer job here, and my colleague does give them work, but he double checks EVERYTHING. Yes. Everything. I get that them teens aren’t librarians and very young, but the work he gives them are pretty easy stuff. Not the complicated stuff I do every single day. :-P His need for control is through the roof. I bet he’d double-check everything I did to. Luckily he trusts me when I’m on the computer.

And my colleagues messy office… well, we haven’t even started on that one. I haven’t explicitly said it, but I think he gets that I won’t help him go through and pack his office, because… it’s so full of shit, seriously. I just won’t. Books, fine. No problem. And everything else that comes with the library and library work, but that? Nope. I won’t.

We only have this and next week to finish off.

You’d think once I got home from work I could relax, right? Nope, no such thing.

Because it’s Midsummer this weekend. And Midsummer means another marathon, just like we have during Christmas every year. Midsummer and Christmas are the two major holidays in Sweden.

So while we travel around for four days to family and relatives during Christmas, during Midsummer we travel to meet one of [livejournal.com profile] peting73s friends. It takes 8 hours in a car to drive there. We split it up, so four hours, then hotel and then another four hours and arrive. Still. It’s a pain in the ass. And since it’s such a long trip, Alexandra won’t get to do all them traditional things during Midsummer.

Which sucks ass to me. Not so much when it comes to [livejournal.com profile] peting73. When he grew up they didn’t celebrate Midsummer nor Christmas much, so to him Midsummer is just one extra day off, not so much a holiday (his words). :-/

When I grew up I was involved with the local folklore dancing group, which arranged the big Midsummer celebration for the village where I grew up. So you could say I was involved with near everything during Midsummer Eve. In the evening relatives came over to hang out and eat Midsummer food. And then during Midsummer Day I was traveling around with the folklore dancing group to old folks homes and village squares and had small folklore dancing shows.

To me Midsummer is just as important as Christmas. So we’re very different there. Sure, Alexandra ain’t that big yet, but I don’t know how I’ll feel about this when she’ll grow older, you know? Do we have to travel to [livejournal.com profile] peting73’s friend every year? Said friend has all his family here, in this very city where I live. So why can’t he come here, eh? (I know the answer to that. His wife. Who I don’t like. At. All.)

It’s just so fucking frustrating, you have no idea. I am constantly stressed out right now and have a hard time sleeping. And [livejournal.com profile] peting73 don’t see why I am stressing out. I love him dearly, I do. He IS the love of my life. But right now I am just frustrated with the whole situation.

Right, so… To make a checklist:

Today
  • Make sure all laundry is done.

  • And start to pack.

  • Make a list of what needs to be packed with [livejournal.com profile] peting73.

Tomorrow
  • Pack the last of it.

  • Take a shower (unless I did that the night before).

  • Doublecheck to make sure we haven’t forgotten to pack anything (that has happened).

  • Try to find time to put on makeup.

  • Travel to my relatives during Alexandras nap-time.

  • Celebrate Midsummer there a day early with all the trimmings.

  • In the car again and drive four hours to the hotel when Alexandra gets sleepy in the evening.

  • Sleep (hopefully) at the hotel.

Midsummer Eve
  • Wake up, shower with Alexandra.

  • Pack all our stuff up again.

  • Breakfast

  • In the car for another four hours.

  • Celebrate student union -like Midsummer of sorts. (Try to be civil to [livejournal.com profile] peting73s friends wife… She says ONE wrong thing about Alexandra, I’ll bite her head off…)

  • Sleep at said friends house.

Midsummer Day
  • Spend time with [livejournal.com profile] peting73’s friend and all the other of his friends there until [livejournal.com profile] peting73 ain’t as hungover… Might take all day.

  • Travel four hours to the hotel.

  • Explore the hotel (its an old preserved manor house / country estate, so I’m sure there’ll be plenty for Alexandra to explore).

  • Try to sleep during the night.

Sunday
  • Wake up, shower either alone or with Alexandra.

  • Pack up all our stuff for the last time.

  • Breakfast

  • In the car for the last four hours during this trip.

  • Arrive home.

  • Hopefully clean the kitchen and the bathroom.

Monday
  • Go to work, bright and early ready for a new stressful week… o.O

I honestly have no idea how I’ll keep my sanity this weekend… :-/ *ready to collapse*
