OMG!
These two days have been INSANE! I am not even joking. o.O
I started my new job yesterday, which was fun and interesting. The need for a librarian at that place is HUGE! Not even joking. There's been this lady there that's not a librarian, and she's pretty much just made sure students can borrow books. Nothing more. That's not even half of what a school-librarian does!
The teachers are ecstatic that I'm there. The students are curious at me (librarian with tattoos and piercings, what? really?). And it's a nice place to be. Really. I think I could enjoy it there.
But.
Yesterday when I was going home, I got a call from a colleague of mine I used to work with. She is now head over all culture work in one part of the city. And they needed a librarian at another school. Full time until the end of December. She wanted me.
o.O * shocked *
Thing is, that offer is HUGELY better then the current one, let me tell you. At my current one, I am only guaranteed 4 hours a day. And they can only hire me a month at a time, and it'll probably end come summer. The other offer, I'll have a full time job until December. It's a no-brainer, really.
Still I feel shitty leaving the school I am currently at without a librarian. They haven't had a proper librarian for 3 years! THREE YEARS! That's NUTS! I am a bit at a shock as to why they haven't hired a librarian as a temporary replacement for the one that is ill in such a long time. Crazy, crazy...
We'll see what happens now I suppose. Going on an interview on Thursday for the better job, and after that? We'll see.
Keep your fingers crossed?

Date: 2014-03-03 09:25 pm (UTC)The odds were really in my favor, yeah. :-) I did end up with the better job, that is at the fulltime job until Decmber. Which is really good deal, but now when I've done my first day I will admit I didn't feel quite as at home as I did at the first place. I really REALLY liked that place. :-/ If they still lack a librarian come winter, I am so calling them again... Just saying.

Date: 2014-05-12 08:54 am (UTC)I think it is a good thing that Endometriosis is taught in med school! There's not enough information going around, and to many women gets miss-diagnosed. :-) So I say it's a good thing. Maybe you'll be able to help a woman in my position one day!
