I will admit that I have had a really really good weekend. :-)
peting73 took an extra day off, so he's been home Thursday - Sunday. It's been great!
Thursday we didn't do much. Just hung around at home... But on Friday though! We got busy! *lol* Well, not extremely busy. :-) We got up in a sorta resonable hour, and went to IKEA to shop the last for Nerd Jr. :-) Last time we were there we forgot the highchair for Nerd Jr, so we bought that, and some other smaller stuff for Nerd Jr. AND! Since both our office chairs that we use when sitting at our computers had both given up on us... (Thanx cats for clawing big holes in them...) We splurged and got a new office-chair each. :-) REALLY COMFY! And so much better for my back... :-) So that was definitely a successful trip!
When we got home we went to a store called Babyproffsen (= Babyproffesionals, sorta) where we bought a babysitter (black of course!) and a babycarrier/babysling as well. :-)
A productive day, and I'd say we are definitely prepared for Nerd Jr's arrival whenever she/he decides to show up. ;-) (There's a lot off poking around in there right now... Especially at my ribs and the bladder... Bah. :-P Not appreciated, kid!)
On Saturday though we went on an outing with
peting73s mom. :-) There is a medieval old house/castle not long from this city, and I've been scolded more then once for the fact I haven't been there yet. I mean, I've lived in this city since 2001, that's more then 10 years... And I still hadn't seen it, despite the fact I am a HUGE medivial history nerd. *lol* So that is somewhat fail, I'd say.
So Saturday it was time! And we went there, took about 30mins drive, so no biggie. :-) And it was SO NICE! The house was very well kept! It's been owned by the same family since around 1300 or so, and has been used for living since then until the 1800's... after that it was used to store corn and grain etc... which was actually quite good! It keept the old stonehouse dry and preserved all the wall paintings and such! :-D
There's a lot of grounds for this house to, and it is STILL run as a big farm! So at the restaurant all the food they serve there? Is produced on their own farm. It was AMAZINGLY good! My gosh... MIL bought us some really yummy lunch there after we'd gone on a tour of the house and also explored it on our own. :-)
The house is called Torpa Stenhus. Do a google image search for it, and you'll see some gorgeous photos of that house/castle. :-) I loved it. So so interesting! Living and breathing history at it's best, seriously. :-)
Then today, Sunday we lazed about during the day, and then on the afternoon I finally got my ass in gear when getting some unexpected energy boost... and did some cleaning here. Since I'll be celebrating my birthday on Saturday, I figured I wanted the apartment at least moderately clean, so... :-) I've started at least, and will continue tomorrow! :-D

Date: 2012-07-15 10:57 pm (UTC)I like Medivial history myself and the house/castle sounds and looks really awesome. That really does sound awesome that they serve food that is produced on their own farms. That's awesome. :D

Date: 2012-07-16 02:21 pm (UTC)The one thing we both wanted to avoid was a typical baby-room with all pink or all blue. None of us wanted that, since... well... we think it is a bit idiotic and kinda ugly. (No offense.) I mean, kids grow. And who says girl wants pink anyway? Or boys wants blue? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CU040Hqbas) And we don't plan on redo any wallpapers and such in the near future, no. :-P That is... in many, many years.
I know! :-D Torpa stenhus/stonehouse was really REALLY awesome! The house was gorgeous, and well the food... OMG! They breed deer and wild boar there, and I just... damn... DAMN the meat you could get there! o.O Not to mention the vegetables as well, I just... Orgasm in my mouth, I say!

Date: 2012-07-16 04:04 pm (UTC)I am so glad that you all are so chillax about everything. It makes following? [is that a good word to use.. lol.] your pregnancy and how things will be with Nerd Jr way more exciting. :D
I really really need to get out of this country and visit other places before I die. Seriously. It sounds wonderful!

Date: 2012-07-16 04:48 pm (UTC)But if Nerd Jr turns into a Princess lover or a Super hero lover when she/he grows older? Well, alright then! Pink it is! Or whatever colour said super hero has! :-D But that's for later. :-)
I think it is a good thing you are correcting Brian when he says things like that, and will when religion comes in to. Since it is better for Verlina to know there are options. Even as a young kid. But that might just be my opinion. :-) See? This is the reason I think you are such an awesome mom!

Date: 2012-07-16 04:19 pm (UTC)Yeah, and it is so cool. I mean, they've located really old documents and such from 1400-1600's what was produced there and gone with the same thing. :-) I know you don't like meat, but they have deer and wild boar there! In HUGE enclosures! So they live really well, and man... You can taste that when you order said meat in the restaurant. I haven't eaten that well in a long time. :-) Not to mention all the vegetables were grown there as well. :-) (Yes, they had vegetarian options to.) It was a brilliant place, really. :-)

Date: 2012-07-17 01:21 am (UTC)That house is so cool! It's so hard to imagine a building being around for that long, especially since the U.S. has nothing that comes close to being so old. It would be really neat to tour it and especially try the food they grow right there. Glad you got to go there finally!

Date: 2012-07-18 09:22 pm (UTC)Here in Sweden you can find old buildings like that pretty much everywhere. And older. Even if mostly the roofs are gone. :-) I mean, we got historical sites from the bronze age and onwards! So if you are a history nerd... Come to Europe, that's all I am saying. Although I am sure the native americans have a lot of old history to. Even if it doesn't seem to count. :-P
And yes. Everything is prepared for Nerd Jr now. :-) Just doing the waiting game at the moment. ;-)
