Election day...

And so, election day is over. And I am damned ashamed of my country... The current government has done nothing but kick down on us poor people at the bottom of the ladder. Meaning things will be even tougher for us unemployed and for those who are sick longterm (if that is even possible). And... they got re-elected. Not to mention. Sverigedemokraterna, the neo-nazi/racist party in Sweden has never gotten this many votes as this year, and is now a power to consider.

I am sad. This is terrible. *heavy sigh*

Apart from well... the election, it has been a good day today. Talked to my brother and my uncle who runs the family farm. Was very nice. Both worried about me, but since I am healing OK, that soon passed. Got invited to my brothers birthday-party in a week to. We'll see if I have healed enough to have strength to go on a 2 hour car trip there and home again... I hope so, but we'll see.

I hope everyone else has had a good day, and hopefully a better evening then I. :-P

I hope so to. I mean, it is my brother after all. And I would get to see all the people from my fathers side of the family to. They usually show up at my brothers parties. :-P We'll see, but I hope I can go.

Can't agree more. Sweden sucks right now, and the fact that SD is in now is scary and just insane shit. :/

Insane shit would just be the start of it. :-/ I just don't get how people think. But then again, as my hubby says, they are very very good at talking in the SD. And no one in the other parties dares to take up a head to head discussion with them, but instead ignore them... Not the way to go.

I'm so sorry about the election. It appalls me that racist/fascist parties can get votes anywhere at all. It's frightening. Hopefully, though, those people who loathe their views will be galvanised into opposing them and discrediting their viewpoint more forcefully.

Well, thats just the thing. The other parties don't dare to take a discussion with them head on. They just ignore them. Which is worse, in my opinion. There needs to be an open discussion, so everyone can here how fucked up there views are.

i feel your pain. i was so disappointed when bush won the election four or five or however many years ago it was. please make sure, if you're considering going on this trip, that you can handle it. my mom always says recuperation time from a surgery is twice what the surgeon says it is.

Oh, I will make sure I feel up to it. Thats why I told my brother I couldn't give him a definite yes or no about if I could come or not. Which he fully understood. :-) I won't make a decision until Sunday morning before we have to go, as it were.
