This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

OK. First off, I have alot of online friends that are from the US. And I love you all.

But...

With that said, americans are fucking insane! As a people. How the hell could you let Bush sit on his throne??? Now how wants to build military bases in EUROPE! And let me tell you, he is not popular here.

[livejournal.com profile] misswitch pointed me the way to some really interesting articles on the matter in her post right here. Seriously... In her post there, I found a link to a very interesting blogg post on another bloggsite with some very interesting insights on the subject. You can read it here. And the article she is discussing you can see here.

Read it. And then put Bush where he belongs. In a mental institution.

Edit: Fixed all the things I misspelled.

Hey, we tried to get rid of The Shrub, believe me!

Personally, I have a theory that he's trying to warmonger enough so that he has just cause to suspend the 2008 presidential elections. (I'm not sure of the right word, but there's a "clause" in the Constitution that allows for that in unstable times.) That's just my personal theory, but c'mon, the man is not acting like someone who is planning on leaving office.

No, he is not. And that is a scary thought. Maybe he'll get Daddy's friends to help again? I mean it worked the last time, didn't it? *shakes head* I mean, he is becoming a laughing stock of most of Europe here. And the reputation of the US is... not the best in Europe either. Guess who you have to thank for that? *sigh*

You're thinking of martial law, and I've been yelling that from the top of my crazy house at anyone who'll listen, since Diebold got him back in in 2004 through Ohio.

If that is what he is trying to do, that I really, really hope he won't succeed... :-P

Well, he's had his two terms. The only other way to get a third would be to change the Constitutional amendment on term limits, and even if he COULD get the support from 38 states to do that, I doubt it could happen in a year's time.

Well that was what I thought to. That you could only sit two terms, and then thats it. I really hope no one gives him anymore support. Seriously. *shakes head*

Blame the fucking electoral college idiots. If it weren't for them, he would never have even been president and it would be Al Gore instead, who won the popular vote the first time Bush was elected. At least he's somewhat sane. To be honest: Bush isn't popular here either. The only reason he won the second election was because John Kerry was an idiot, but even I'd prefer him to "The Madness of King George" we've been playing out for the past 7 years.
I want to know how anyone can come up with a logical excuse to vote for a man who runs into a tree while riding his bike or uses nonexistant words like "misunderestimated"

Yeah, I have seen alot of interviews lately with Al Gore. He seems to have a pretty straight head on his shoulders at least. You wouldn't believe what some of my friends say about the US as whole just because you have an idiot as a president. I am sometimes being picked on even since I happen to say that most regular people are decent and nice people, even with a good head on there shoulders. (I lived in the US ten years ago, so I have a soft spot for you people.) I usually get to hear that I can't like americans because they must all be idiots.... *sigh* Sad thing is, I fear that idea is spreading.... :-(

Kerry wasn't an idiot. He wasn't a strong enough personality to be president, but he wasn't an idiot; if anything, he was too damn smart for the populace he was asking to vote for him, and expected them to keep up with "discussion, discussion, discussion" when most Americans are the mental equivalent of sitting around with their finger jammed up their nose going "duhhrrrrr" .....

Yes, I'm American.

It is fine to be angry at your own people at times. Hell, so am I to, now and then. That happens. It is hard to keep up with political discussions. I admit, I am not the best at it either. :-P

I am far more likely to be angry with my own than with any "outsiders" because I know "my own" are capable of better judgment and intelligence than they've been showing for a good long while. *headshake*

*pat* Don't know what more to say, really. I hope most people that go to the election think a little at least. :-/

He's not so popular here either

It is unbearably frustrating. Trouble is, what do you do? We could attempt to convince the House to impeach him - if he was convicted, my understanding is that we would end up with President Cheney, and that is certainly no better. There was a movement to impeach him too, but I don't think it got off the ground.

Also, considering how quickly things don't move at government speed, we're almost better off just waiting for the next election. I wish the Democrats had better (meaning white male) candidates to offer - I'm not convinced that a woman (Hillary Clinton) or a black man (Barak Obama) will garner enough votes to win, on the basis of gender and race alone. Because too many Americans really are that stupid and biased. (I hope I'm wrong. I really really do.) (Stephen Colbert is running. He'd do a better job than half the yahoos out there.)

Fox News is idiotic. I can't even bear to read/watch anything that comes from them. Seriously, the last time I watched Fox News, I think I lost a few IQ points.

America is a very very divided nation right now. I write to my congresspeople, and I know my friends do too. We're not all of us crazy. True Majority (http://www.truemajority.com/) is a grassroots group dedicated to making America better - getting out of Iraq, actually doing something about global warming, health care, etc. I'm a member, and sometimes, it actually works.

Yeah, I got that he is not so popular with his own country either. Or at least not with the grassrots. Among the high and mighty he seems somewhat popular still. But no wonder, since he makes sure they get much moonies, don't he? *sigh* I did read the book Stupid White Men (http://www.amazon.com/Stupid-White-Men-Michael-Moore/dp/0141019999/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-6049559-8983663?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1193443613&sr=1-1) after the last election you had, just because it was such a riot about it over the news (yes here to). It is just... insane. He is like a spoiled brat using your country like a toy. Seriously. *shakes head* And he seems to have this idea that everything that the US does is right and that the US is the word police. Sorry but... no. Just no. We have had another guy trying that here in Europe once during the 1940's... Maybe you have heard of him? But he was pure evul, not stupid.
Oddly, it was the "grassroots" that got Bush in office by sheer numbers of voting (if he didn't have truly enough to win, he at least got enough that it was easy to fudge). There are many people in this country who make low salaries who, for some reason, support the Republican Party when it is no longer in their best economic interest to do so (once upon a time, it WAS the fiscally conservative party). I think their thinking is "Dad/Mom voted Republican, we've always voted Republican" without thinking about WHY they used to vote Republican.

Alot of people think like that here to. "My family votes for this and have always voted for this so I will to." Thinking for oneself doesn't seem to be something people like. :-P

I can't imagine Bush has the political clout to push that through at this point. The amount of political and popular support he has right now is minimal. Primary season for the next election begins in a few months and when you look at who the Republican front-runner is, it's clear that even the Republican base is in no mood for a repeat of Bush.

Yeah, one can only hope. I know there are a few US military bases in Europe, Germany for example. But this? This is just silly. I really really hope that all the politicians look at Bush and see how NOT to act... ;-) Or at least to support a politician that has some brains, and is not only a front-figure with a pretty name. :-P

I wish he wasn't popular with the people in power in Britain either. They've obviously learnt nothing from Afghanistan and Iraq :(

And as for the suggestion that Al-Qaeda is responsible for the fires in California, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

I think he is thorn in everyones foot. I am even getting laughed at from my RL friends, for liking my US friends on the net. It irks me, since I actually liked the country and the people when I lived there. The reputation of the US people are sadly thrown to shit, at least here in Sweden. And we all know who to thank for that, don't we? :-(
