Weekend report about family party/get-together and other stuff...

The weekend has just been as hectic as I suspected. :-P But my party to celebrate my 30th birthday was a success! Yay! Much thanx to my mother, MrP's mom and sunnifwa (who had to run to the store for me to shop the stuff I had forgotten...). All the guests found there way, gladly. For nearly all of them it was the first time visiting the Student Union Pub that I had rented for the occasion. Mostly we just sat around talking, eating and all. I had made a small competition with questions of my life, with prizes and all. One of my relatives got first prize, and not so surprisingly sunnifwa got the second prize. :-) It was all fun and I got lots and lots of pretty gifts. And also a bunch o giftcertificates! So on thursday when I am off from work, I am sooo going shopping! :-D

Now I feel very, very calm, because my party was the last of all those parties of different kinds this summer. It has been sorta hectic and it feels like I haven't been able to relax until now. Feels really, really nice. :-)

In the spirit of feeling relaxed I decided to log on to WoW last night to play some, since I haven't had to time to do that in a week or so. But, I couldn't! WoW is being evul towards me. :-( Either that, or Vista and WoW has decided to start fighting now (even though I have been playing before on this here new computer...). Have posted in wow_ladies about ze problem. I really hope they can help me. I have plans for insane amounts of playing on my days off... Well, that and drooling on Pirates-pics... ;-D

Vista is a great evil and threat to all free people. Been fighting with it since I built my new main rack and installed the goddamn Vista. Try disabling UAC (user account control) and all those runtime-protection-blablabla's. Helped my case a lot. Make sure you're running a software firewall though, Kerio for example. The one coming with the operating system just doesn't cut it.

I actually like Vista. It has taken me some time to get used to, but now it works fine for me. And yes, I have another fire-wall to, don't fear. I am not a total-computer-noob. ;-) Not to mention my hubby builds computers for fun, and knows his shit. ;-) I got lots of great tips from wow_ladies who to get WoW to play nice to, so... right now everything is working fine for me. :-D
