This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

I've watched this on repeat for a couple of days! :-D I'm so freaking EXCITED!!! Here in Sweden Mickey Mouse and cohorts are not so popular. The MAIN Disney-character here in Sweden, and basically most of Scandinavia is... Donald Duck! And his cohorts of duck-relatives and such... And Scrooge McDuck is my ABSOLUTE favorite Disney character EVER! So to see that'll redo Ducktales are making me ridiculously happy!!!

And then I stumbled upon this video, and the girls reaction while watching? Was SO SWEET! I can't help but get a HUGE grin on my face when I watch this, so I've watched this YouTube vid for quite a few times to!

So that's what I've been sitting here grinning like a fool at while my leg is healing and I've been home alone during the days...

Well... That was a lukewarm episode...

Before going in to that though, I should really sit down and answer comments and such. I have just found a new addiction. And it's a YouTube channel. I fell so hard for this channel, I ended up being a Patreon for it. I couldn't help myself. I LOVE documentaries about interesting people. And this is a YouTube channel doing just that. Anyone should check this channel out! NO SMALL PARTS!

Anyway. Back to Game of Thrones...

As I said, this seemed to be an interact. It was, as I said, a very lukewarm episode. Might add I haven't read the books and won't either. :-P

Jon still annoys the hell out of me. I don't know what it is with that character, but I grit my teeth every time I see him. Couldn't he have stayed dead? At least he left the Nightswatch at the end there. Good riddance. :-P To bad Sansa is on her way Castle Black and the Nightswatch to reunite with her halfbrother, if my memory don't fail. :-P

Talking of Sansa, we got nothing from her this week. :-/ Nor Theon. Got a bit from Bran and The Three-eyed Raven though. (Max von Sydow, FUCK YEAH!) Although it is interesting with all these flashbacks to the past, I wonder what purpose they have?

Things are not going well for Cersai and Jamie when it comes taking over the council... I can't help but say it: Sucks to be on the other end, doesn't it? X-D Also, new little birds? Interesting. And when do we get to see the monster-face of Frankensteins monster Gregor Clegane? :-)

Talking about Varys, man that is an interesting character. So is Tyrion even when he tries to be funny with the people that don't know what funny is. That was hilarious to the point of painful to watch. X-D

And then there's Arya. Now there's some character-development! Or should I say A Girl With No Name... ;-) Man. She'll be dangerous!

Oh, and Daenerys of course. She's really gotten herself in a fix. Or, well... Her dragon has. Bad dragon, Drogon! *lol* I wonder what his siblings are up to...? Gonna be interesting to see how Daenerys is getting out of this.

Not an hugely exciting episode, but it'll be interesting to see what happens next. :-)

I promised to say if I got any fun calls on The Swedish Number as a random swede. And I did some time ago actually. While doing dishes. In my pajamas. X-D

I had made myself available to take calls, and I got a call. And it was from a radio station in Paraguay. And I was suddenly live talking on the air.

...

Yes, I'm not even kidding. X-D We had a bit of a language problem since I couldn't speak spanish and they could barely speak english! *LOL* But we made do, and it worked out moderately fine. They wanted to know why I was taking calls, if I thought it was fun. Approximately where I lived in Sweden (so they could look on a map) and the best things I could recommend about Sweden (NATURE, NATURE, NATURE! And Allemansrätten!).

That was a FUN call! The guys were really cute. One of them could speak moderately well english. And I found out he'd learned it from movies. In particular, the Star Wars movies. Apparently such a big fan, he was called Jedi. Ha ha ha! SO AWESOME! They tracked my twitter down after I gave the name to them, so now I know what the station is called. Mandiorama! A bunch of true gentlemen, to be quite honest! So if you know spanish, well... ;-)

Here's their twitter: @Mandiorama and their Facebook: Mandiorama.

Since then I haven't taken that many calls, though. :-P I've amused myself to catch up on the the swedish TV show Let's Dance instead, which is the swedish version of Dancing with the stars. :-) It's very campy and cheesy and filled with clichés, but I can't help but love it.

I also follow a very nice documentary series that try to understand the many many beggers from Romania we have here in the city were I live, Borås. It has become a problem, and the question is HOW to help all these people the best? The documentary series is not saying it has an answer, it just wants to show that these are people too, they have a reason for being here and have lives like everyone else. It's gut-wrenching to watch, but important to, I believe.

What's more been going on? Not much. After Alexandra's run in with high fevers and that fever cramp, things has been going on as normal with her. Nothing strange there.

We visited mom and celebrated her birthday, which was GREAT! :-D When I asked mom what she wanted she said she wanted socks. OK then! The woman wanted socks, she’ll get socks. *LOL* So I bought a lot of fun ones from SockDreams. Made me giggle, and I knew mom would love it. :-)

Only problem was that for some reason they had some problem in the US, namely LA, when the package was to be shipped, so I didn’t get it until it was too late. And I’d ordered it with plenty time to! So she got some flowers instead and we decided she’d get her gift when next we meet.

Two days after we got home, her socks arrived. Which Alexandra thought was so much fun, so day after they’d arrived she decided that we were going to post grandma a package with her socks. *LOL* And Alexandra was SOOOO DETERMINED! So we wrapped them up, we sorta wrote a letter and after dinner we went to the nearest post office and posted it. Alexandra thought it was SO MUCH FUN!

Alexandra and the package to grandma! )

Silly girl. *lol* Mom loved to get a surprise package though, so I’d call it a success. :-)

Work, well… it’s insane as ever. Preparations for our move from our temporary premises is in full swing behind the scenes. I’ve seen furniture and shelves for the new library presented from four companies, and it looks wonderful. Once everyone else have decided what company they like the most, it’ll be decided and work to start furnish the school and library will start. This a slow process though, and I’m already stressed over August when school starts up again. (That’s healthy… not.) I’m really looking forward to have a totally fresh and new library though! :-D

When not working I’m totally fangirling online like always. A lot of time goes to roleplaying with @Duodeathstar. And to help [livejournal.com profile] tattooofhername with her MASSIVE fic Transition! Dark, so very dark a fic. But DAMN! It’s SO GOOD! Proud to be a part of that. :-D

Talking off fandom’s and such, one of my new friends on my friendslist, [livejournal.com profile] denorios, has written SUCH an interesting piece of meta on the evolution of fandoms. And it’s SO GOOD! You need to go read it stat! Who is the best fan? The one who followed the band/actor before they were popular? Or the fans that just discovered them? Or are ALL fans just as good? ;-)

What are your thoughts on the evolution of fandom?

You can probably guess my view on the matter. ;-)

Sad thing lately, and well… All of 2016 is all the artistic icons that keep dying this year. Latest in the list is Prince who died last night (my time).
He was such an amazing artist and seemed to have been an amazing human being to. I’m quite sure he’ll be greatly missed. Not only by fans, but family I’m sure.

Here’s Prince’s halftime show from SuperBowl 2007, which is so damn impressive. Pouring rain, lightning and thunder… And what does he do? Rock on in one hell of a halftime show on a slick stage with electric lights, playing several electric guitars and walking around on crazy high heels. The man rocked. Hands down.

YES!

I just signed up for something absolutely awesome! I've talked to people from all over the world since yesterday! This is AMAZING!!!

OK, so mostly people from the US. Why are you so fascinated with Sweden? I'll ask that the next US-person I'll get on the line. But man oh man... I am LOVING being a random swede!

Call Sweden! Talk to us! We love talking! And, bonus, we're good at english. ;-D

The Swedish Number

My first call was from a couple high as kites guys from Netherlands! X-D They wanted prostitutes and drugs, both illegal in Sweden! Oops! X-D And it has moved on from there to some sad calls (woman who had lost her husband) to interesting ones (refugee politics in Sweden) to calls just from people curious on the country and what great sights there are (the nature, get out in the nature, for GAWDS SAKE! and visit Öland and Gotland, for SERIOUS!!!)

I am so continuing to be a random swede in the evenings. This is so awesome. I hope this will continue to be a thing, just like the swedish twitter account @Sweden where a random swede tweets each day... I so so so hope this will continue. Because I am loving the hell out of this!

Call Sweden! Get a chance to talk to me or my countrymen (and women!)!!!!

Wow... I am really getting back into this LJ-thing, aren't I? It just feels really damn GOOD! :-D Like I'm coming home. Which, you know... It basically is. *checks* My first entry was posted in December of 2003. Damn... o.O Could say I've spent a significant part of my time here.

Work has been good today. REALLY lazy, so I got in some fanfic reading in the midst of it. :-) Well, not 'normal' fanfic reading. I did, what I call it, my 'commenting-thing'. Where I read through a fanfic before it's finished or made official and see what makes sense and what makes no sense etc. Can't be a proper beta, because well... swedish. Plus I suck at grammar in my own language, so having me as a proper beta would just be a disaster waiting to happen. *LOL* Apparently this 'commenting-thing' is popular, since I have done it for three writers. Currently "only" doing it for two. :-) It's A LOT of fun though, or I wouldn't be doing it.

Had some really cute encounters with kids/teens at the school today. :-) I mean, I know this is one (of two) of the most troublesome schools in the city, but that doesn't mean that ALL kids are hooligans. There's some seriously AWESOME kids in this school, from ALL OVER the world. And that is pretty neat. And the best part of this job, to be quite honest. I learn SO MUCH! Also, both headmasters are very pleased with what I've done so far. And rumors has it that my predecessor/previous eccentric colleague won't be coming back. Which means, this library will be mine. *SQUEEE!!!* :-D

Future is looking fucking bright, if you ask me. ;-)

And to finish this post off, as I do from time to time, I'll share stuff I've found online.

First off I give you this. From this Christmas somewhere in the US. I'm always amazed at how much time US-people spend on the light on their houses. This was pretty cool though, and I know my kid would have peed herself with joy over this, the fangirl that she is. :-D

Frozen lights blinking in time with Let It Go...

This I found hilarious. I live in a straight relationship as it were, so couldn't even imagine. How on earth can people actually say this? It's just... nuts.

Things people ask gay dads... )

On a bit more somber note, this is both disturbing and interesting all in the same time. Because really, only women is beaten, right? Wrong...

Domestic abuse advert Mankind )

This on the other hand made me laugh. All big hearty belly laugh, as it were. :-D And perfect for International Woman's Day!

Revealing dress -lady and old almost dead -lady on the tram... )

Talking off International Woman's day... I give you some kick ass strong women in comics. And I ain't talking super hero comics. I'm talking Elfquest, best comic ever made. And this article tells you just why you should read it... if nothing else for the awesomeness that is the female characters in said comic.

To hunt, to howl, to live free - Heather Johannsen on the powerful women of Elfquest

And... Now I need to go to bed. New day to strangel hooligan kids tomorrow. ;-)

Oh! And lastly, those coming over from 'that meme'... WELCOME! I'll do an about my post tomorrow! PROMISE! :-D Glad to have you here!
