Game of Thrones episode 3 season 6

Well... That was a lukewarm episode...

Before going in to that though, I should really sit down and answer comments and such. I have just found a new addiction. And it's a YouTube channel. I fell so hard for this channel, I ended up being a Patreon for it. I couldn't help myself. I LOVE documentaries about interesting people. And this is a YouTube channel doing just that. Anyone should check this channel out! NO SMALL PARTS!

Anyway. Back to Game of Thrones...

As I said, this seemed to be an interact. It was, as I said, a very lukewarm episode. Might add I haven't read the books and won't either. :-P

Jon still annoys the hell out of me. I don't know what it is with that character, but I grit my teeth every time I see him. Couldn't he have stayed dead? At least he left the Nightswatch at the end there. Good riddance. :-P To bad Sansa is on her way Castle Black and the Nightswatch to reunite with her halfbrother, if my memory don't fail. :-P

Talking of Sansa, we got nothing from her this week. :-/ Nor Theon. Got a bit from Bran and The Three-eyed Raven though. (Max von Sydow, FUCK YEAH!) Although it is interesting with all these flashbacks to the past, I wonder what purpose they have?

Things are not going well for Cersai and Jamie when it comes taking over the council... I can't help but say it: Sucks to be on the other end, doesn't it? X-D Also, new little birds? Interesting. And when do we get to see the monster-face of Frankensteins monster Gregor Clegane? :-)

Talking about Varys, man that is an interesting character. So is Tyrion even when he tries to be funny with the people that don't know what funny is. That was hilarious to the point of painful to watch. X-D

And then there's Arya. Now there's some character-development! Or should I say A Girl With No Name... ;-) Man. She'll be dangerous!

Oh, and Daenerys of course. She's really gotten herself in a fix. Or, well... Her dragon has. Bad dragon, Drogon! *lol* I wonder what his siblings are up to...? Gonna be interesting to see how Daenerys is getting out of this.

Not an hugely exciting episode, but it'll be interesting to see what happens next. :-)

This entry is crossposted between LJ and DW. Comment where you are comfortable.

If the Bran flashback is going where I think it's going (and I think it issss), I am SO GODDAMN EXCITED. So goddamn excited. It needed repeated twice that's how squee I am over it. And, nope, it's not something from the books, so it's not like I'm over here, pushing up my glasses and going 'well, in the books...' (this time). SO EXCITE.

I kinda wonder where they're going with Sansa now. I figure that she'll get waylaid or something, just to toss more drama on the fire, since that seems to be the point of her character now. Maybe she'll run into Jon as he heads south and she won't even need to go to Castle Black.

Also, man, I can't believe they killed Shaggy Dog. It's good literary symmetry and all (Bran woke up when Lady died, Jon woke up probably around when Shaggy Dog died), but they need to stop killing off all the puppies. >:( We're down to just Summer and Ghost (and maybe Nymeria, so we don't actually know what happened to her after Arya ran her off). I guess we're also kinda running out of Starks, too, sooooo.

Rickon has gotten SO TALL. It sucks that he's with Ramsey, though. Maybe Asha will stab him in the neck and they can retake Winterfell. He would be standing lord until they find out that Bran's alive/Bran comes back. Starks for life!

I got nothing for Dany, tbh. Maybe her babies will show up and crisp the whole place and she'll ride back to Mereen or something. Dragons dragons everywhere, and they just want their momma.

Max von Sydow rules. I sincerly love that old guy. One of the greatest actors still alive and kicking. And he's swedish, so excuse my pride! :-D

With Sansa and Jon, I'm quite happy that they got reunited. Made Jon more tolarable to me. And Sansa has grown on me. She seems to be learning to play The Game. One hopes she'll be good at it to. More powerful women is just of the good to me.

Not that many of the direwolfs left, are there? There's Ghost (somewhere) and Arya's (somewhere) but the rest have bit the dust haven't they? If I don't miss-remember... I am bad at counting wolfs. Fail me!

Dany has grown a bit on my towards the end of the season. She and Tyrion is such a great team, I feel. :-D Throw in Yara Greyjoy, and I am a very happy viking!

It amuses me that them powerful dragons are SUCH babies when it comes to their momma. X-D I might be the only one, but it does amuse me. *lol*

Max von Sydow never seems to age, does he? Or rather, he looks like he was always old...

I think the flashbacks will show that Ned's sister wasn't abducted and raped, but rather in love. And that she is Jon's mother.

I'm glad Arya is finally done training to be without name- I found all the training quite tedious, I must confess.

And I hated Ramsey getting is paws on Rickon and Usha! I really, really hope this mean they get to kill him and not the other way around!

And you were RIGHT in your prediction as we found out in the last episode!!! The plot is thickening... Seems as if the fandom 'knows' who his father is though. Time will tell if their correct or if GRR Martin amuses himself with fucking them over. X-D

Arya really has grown some balls, hasn't she? I love the way she executed her revenge. And I fully believe there'll be more of that later on. :-D

Poor Rickon. He was but a plot device. *pets him* At least Ramsey meet his grisly end as revenge. He definitly deserved it.

excuse my pride! :-D

I know- I'm Swedish too. :) (And actually distantly related to Max von Sydow, though we have never met. He's a cousin a few times removed to my farfar.)

I feel pretty sure Jon's fater will be that Targyaren guy- if not for any other reason than at this point it wouldn't make sense to introduce a new character from the past to be the father. :)

I liked Arya's revenge too and I was very pleased with sansa this season. But poor Rickon!

OMG! THE ENVY!!!! That is so cool to be related to Max von Sydow! I always wondered if he was related to the people involved in this tragedy though: The Von Sydow Murders (http://sverigesradio.se/sida/avsnitt/363992?programid=2519)?

As much as it annoys me though you're probably right about Jon Snow. He is most likely related to that Targyaren guy. :-P Which means we'll see more of him. And I don't like Jon that much. He's just to noble for me. :-P

[identity profile] scripsi.livejournal.com 2016-07-05 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as I said, I have never met him. And my name isn't von Sydow. :) But yes, he is related somehow. I'm not clear on how, but one of my great-grandmother's was cousin with the murdered father.

Jon Snow bores me as well. He simply isn't interesting, he is just noble.

I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one bored with Jon Snow. Most people seem to have a thing for him. :-P

He is so obviously set up to be The Hero. Everything is always so Tragic and Noble when he is around, but I guess a lot of people love that.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-07-06 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
So true. I don't mind the Token Hero and some tragedy, BUT! I do get annoyed when they they are SO NOBLE!!! I mean, there's nothing wrong with him, he is good at everything... *SIGH*

To draw a parallel to one of my first fandoms (points to Xena-icon), Xena was the Token Hero, she was ridiculously good at anything she decided to do. BUT! She was flawed. She struggled with keeping her bloodthirsty warlord down. And she attoned for the wrongs she'd done. It was a campy cheesy series, but the bottom-line of the overall story was just that.

I've never watched Zene, but I agree. Flawed heroes makes for a much more interesting narrative. :)

Hi Kseenaa!

Ehm... More or less. :-P I do have tendencys to jump back now and then. But life is hella busy with a four year old and full time job, so it's just so much you can do, you know? And you have to prioritize sometimes. :-P

But come the end of the day my heart will always beat for LJ, I think. I've been here for so many years I just CAN'T turn my back on this place, I think.
