Interestingly enough, things are looking up. :-)
I got the job I wanted! WOHOO! OK, so I didn't dislike the school-library I was at, but... It's a school-library. I was to work as a school-librarian. Again. And it's a really REALLY active! With a lot of kids and a lot of activities and I don't even know what. A good thing of course! But geezes fuck, after working at that bad school? I just want a break from school-librarian work. :-P I am told constantly that I am great at it, and that's always nice to hear. Still though. :-P Please no more schools with crazy ass kids!!!
Instead I'll be working at a library a bit outside of town, in the in one of the small communities outside of town. I think it'll be great. I really do. I'll be the contact/school-librarian (still!) to the tiny schools out there on the countryside. Which will be a lot more fun, I think, then working with the schools here. Small tiny classes 10-15 kids (instead of 20-25 kids) and kids that really REALLY want to meet the librarian when you visit (instead of disinterested troubled kids in town, not all of them, but still). AND once a week I'll be librarian in charge of the library-buss... YES! HOW COOL AIN'T THAT! Just me and a driver and a buss filled with books. I am really looking forward to this, to be honest. *lol*
And today... Oh, today was great as well. I've contacted a cleaning company some time ago and asked them to come do a serious spring cleaning of doom in our apartment. Of course, I'll have to pay them for it. But man. It was NEEDED! And today... Today they were here. :-D It took 2 girls (one older one younger) 5 hours approximately to go over the whole apartment. They only took shelves we've emptied, but that was fine. What I was the most interested in was the ceilings and the walls of the rooms. To get them cleaned. ESPECIALLY in the bathroom! To be quite honest, the walls in our bathroom was... quite disgusting I'm ashamed to say. And the windows got cleaned and the curtains that I've ordered, almost all of them were done, so they are up and it's just... so damn nice here now. I am BEYOND pleased!
While they were cleaning the place we went to my MIL and got dinner and Alexandra got to play with all the toys that she's bought for Alexandra to have there while Alexandra visits. And my MIL is quite awesome, I have to say. She was not just hinting at wanting Alexandra to spend a night there again, she was downright doing the sledgehammer of hints with that. X-D So we'll make sure to make plans for that in the near future. Alexandra loves sleep overs at grandma, and we get a break, so all wins!
Of course,
peting73 had to grumble over the fact I got a cleaning company here. Not for there reason you might think though. No, he kept saying I expected to much and would get disappointed. OK? What I wanted most was our bathroom to get a good once over. And it did. Our windows sparkle. And the rest? Even if I paid for it? Bonus. So he can just shut it. *grump*
At least we've now sorted our DVD/Blueray collection, which is good. All cartoon movies / kiddie movies is at a special place now, so whenever Alexandra wants to watch any of her favorites, they'll be easy to find. :-)
All in all, I am VERY pleased with the experience and might do it again. Spring-cleaning is a pain in the ass to do yourself anyway, isn't it? ;-)

Date: 2015-04-20 08:04 pm (UTC)To me it was more a case of getting away from a job I didn't really want, even if everyone keeps telling me I am good at it. :-P I think this job will be a lot more fun, to be honest. :-)

Date: 2015-04-21 09:18 pm (UTC)I will be working then (dammit!) but I am going to talk to my boss so I can take as much time off as is even possible. I WANT TO HANG WITH YOU! HUG YOU AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT! (Kisses?)
I forgot asking my boss when I talked to her today (dammit agian!), but I plan to call her tomorrow as well, and I'll talk to her about it then. I mean, it's not often I get someone visiting me from gawd damn New York! o.O *is still blown away by this* So I hope I'll get some understanding there. :-P
Should AT LEAST get the Friday off, and I don't work Saturdays, so yeah... :-P
Oh, and random question nr one: Are you coming alone? Do you need somewhere to sleep? Want me to set you up somewhere in Borås?
And random question nr two: Are you a vegan or a vegetarian?

Date: 2015-04-22 02:12 pm (UTC)And, I'm a vegetarian. Very excited for Swedish cheese. <3 <3 <3
Don't stress about taking time off from work!! I would love to see you and hang out with you and if you can get the time it's amazing but I know how much you love your job an how cooped up you've been lately soooo whatever you can manage will be more than enough for me. you know I'm easy :)
Bad news....
Date: 2015-04-25 12:22 am (UTC)But when I finally got a chance to talk to my boss... I found out I was supposed to work Thursday Friday AND Saturday when you're here. :-/ After much begging I managed to get Friday off. But not Thursday where I work 8am-4pm (I'm on a library-bus/book-bus all day), and then on Saturday I work from 9:45am to 1:15pm (the library is open 10am-1pm. I AM SO FUCKING SORRY!!!
Geezes, you get here from the freaking US and I can't get time off from work. Feeling absolutly horrible about this right now, I don't even know what to say.
Just that I am so freaking sorry!!! *hangs head in shame*

Date: 2015-04-26 10:40 pm (UTC)I was thinking about Friday though... You said you wanted to meet my family? And well, we could I think. I think mom is off work, so we could go meet her. And then on our way home, we could visit my brother to. They both live on the swedish countryside, classical swedish farmer countryside. My brother even lives in the middle of nowhere it seems like. Just woods and fields. Unless you want to watch what little historic sites there is in Borås?
We'd have to bring Alexandra with us though, since
Just throwing out the suggestion. It's up to you though since you're the travelers.
