Avengers and Loki...

I don't get it. I really and honestly do not get it...

Maybe it is because I am Swedish and a history nerd. Not to mention a lover of all things Nordic mythology. I've read those stories since I was a kid, studied them for my own amusement. Maybe that is why?

I did enjoy Thor, although I laughed my big ass off at what they'd done with all them myths (Siv? A warrior-princess? Come on... X-D Not to mention Thor's friends there, geezes...) It was fun though, and what saved the whole cracky thing was Chris Hemsworth and the fact the movie didn't take itself seriously at all.

Then Avengers and in particular Loki took over Tumblr. Having me go: Huh? What? Why? And made me curious on said movie. So, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 bought it.

We watched it yesterday, and it was fun! A really really fun action-movie, with great special effects and a great GREAT cast! Quite obvious it was a Whedon movie, to be honest... And personally I feel head over heels for Banner/Hulk. He owned that movie, seriously... ("I stay angry all the time..." And I'd try and knock out Thor to, honestly! X-D)

And then there was Loki...

Again, I really REALLY don't get it! Sure, Hiddlstone looks sorta good. Not the classical handsome man, but still he got something. He is a great actor to. No question about it.

But I don't get the worship I see on Tumblr. I don't. *shrug*

Maybe it is with this like with so many other fandoms these days: I am not meant to get it. :-P

*shrugs* *goes to play World of Warcraft*

Maybe it's the smirk? Alan Rickman's got it*, and Hiddleston too I think. Plus, fandom is insane... No matter which one.

Also, I really liked the Avengers.

*Although it's the voice that makes me get a bit weak at the knees...

Oh, I really liked Avengers to! :-D Make no misstake. :-) It was one amusing ride, for sure! And hey, it was a Whedon movie, and man the man's sense of humor SURE shined through. :-)

I never got the Snape-thing either. I don't know. Weird. :-P

And you are right. All fandoms is insane, I suppose. It's just the worship-worship you know... that is what weirds me out. :-P

I haven't seen any of the other movies, except two minutes of Iron Man. Are they as good? Thor seems like the kind of movie I'd like, I think.

I never got the Snape thing either. Snape is just too greasy, and he's a bad teacher. No good associations there... (At least Snape doesn't spy on the girls in the shower...) It's my least favorite Rickman character. Metatron, on the other hand... (If you haven't seen Dogma, I suggest you do. *grins*)

The Iron Man movies kinda surprised me. Yes, we have both here. :-) They were actually really good. :-D So I do recommend them. I've seen Thor to with [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and we pretty much laughed our asses off at what Marvel has done with mythology and then feel in love with Chris Hemsworth who plays Thor, because he pretty much saved the whole movie. He does SUCH a great job! Also, there's Stellan SkarsgÄrd and I love him. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 warns me of the Hulk movies that has been released these later years... Apparently they suck, so I haven't seen those...

He did order Captain America the other day though, so I plan to watch it either this weekend or during the week that shows up... when Alexandra wants to use me as a bed or pacifier. :-D

Ok, worth watching then, except avoid the Hulk. :-) (Good advice in general, that...)

Ha ha ha! Yeah, it is. ;-) I hope you enjoy them at least a lil. They are a fun ride not to be taken to seriously. I think I'll watch The Incredible Hulk anyway, just so I've seen all of them movies leading up to The Avengers. For the hell of it, you know? And they keep making more movies to! Avengers 2 is in the works as is Thor 2, so there'll be more to watch for sure! :-)
