This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

I don't get it. I really and honestly do not get it...

Maybe it is because I am Swedish and a history nerd. Not to mention a lover of all things Nordic mythology. I've read those stories since I was a kid, studied them for my own amusement. Maybe that is why?

I did enjoy Thor, although I laughed my big ass off at what they'd done with all them myths (Siv? A warrior-princess? Come on... X-D Not to mention Thor's friends there, geezes...) It was fun though, and what saved the whole cracky thing was Chris Hemsworth and the fact the movie didn't take itself seriously at all.

Then Avengers and in particular Loki took over Tumblr. Having me go: Huh? What? Why? And made me curious on said movie. So, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 bought it.

We watched it yesterday, and it was fun! A really really fun action-movie, with great special effects and a great GREAT cast! Quite obvious it was a Whedon movie, to be honest... And personally I feel head over heels for Banner/Hulk. He owned that movie, seriously... ("I stay angry all the time..." And I'd try and knock out Thor to, honestly! X-D)

And then there was Loki...

Again, I really REALLY don't get it! Sure, Hiddlstone looks sorta good. Not the classical handsome man, but still he got something. He is a great actor to. No question about it.

But I don't get the worship I see on Tumblr. I don't. *shrug*

Maybe it is with this like with so many other fandoms these days: I am not meant to get it. :-P

*shrugs* *goes to play World of Warcraft*

It's Marvel Comics-verse, very loosely connected to anything about the actual mythology. So us fanboys who read those comics get to squee our asses off, even knowing it's got zero accuracy about much of anything.

Oh, I know that. :-) Never read them comics, but I am aware of it and can laugh it off for what it is.

I just don't get the Loki-thing, you know? He is pretty cool, I guess, but I don't get the fangirlism (or fanboysim) and the jizzing all over Tumblr. :-P I guess I am not supposed to. :-)

Guilty as charged... I don't do it much here, but dog knows I'm guilty of it on Tumblr :x

It's seeing how he is in interviews, in public, on film outtakes, how well-spoken and intelligent he is, and his sense of humor that has me all hung up on him. He wouldn't be nearly so attractive if not for his mannerisms. Something of the Snape effect there I think, and I'm not at all a Potter fan.

What gets really confusing is having to explain which Tom I'm stanning for at any given time... XD

Indeed you are! *lol* Well, as long as you are having fun, I suppose. :-)

And now I kinda get why I don't get it... Because I've never been jizzing all over the place over Snape either. Sure, I liked him and Alan Rickman has been in my heart since Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves, but... no. The Snape-thing I never really got either. :-P

sorry. i know i'm guilty of the avengers spamming on tumblr.

i'm not really a loki/tom fan either. he made a good villain, but i'm not really into tom's RL red hair. shallow, i know. he is intelligent, funny, and well spoken, though.

i'm in it for pretty much everyone else but loki. and i'm loving this new fandom while TH is on hiatus. i can get lost for hours on Ao3 with all of the ships.

There is a lot of people guilty of that. :-) And there is spamming and spamming. So no need to apologize. It's just the army worship-worship thing that weirds me out, I suppose. :-P

Yeah, I don't get the Tom Hiddleson worship either. Of course, I'm a bit biased because of my Tony Stark/RDJ lust, but that's neither here nor there.

But yeah, the movie was awesome. I can't wait until next Tuesday, when it's released in the States. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a DVD being released.

Well, I am glad I am not the only one that just don't get it. :-) I mean, I did enjoy both Thor and Avengers where Loki shows up. Good movies, and I think Hiddlestone is a great actor, not saying anything else. I just don't get the worship-worship, you know? :-P

I just think Tom Hiddleston is really, really good looking and a very good actor. :)

Well, at least that is a normal reason. :-) It is the crazy worship-worship that is going rampant on Tumblr that kinda weirds me out everytime I go on that site and is flooded with posts about Tom and Loki and how his fans are his "army"... I mean, WHAT? Yeah, Loki talks about an army in the movie, but that Tumblr-thing? That just weirds me out somewhat. I just don't get it.

Maybe it's the smirk? Alan Rickman's got it*, and Hiddleston too I think. Plus, fandom is insane... No matter which one.

Also, I really liked the Avengers.

*Although it's the voice that makes me get a bit weak at the knees...

Oh, I really liked Avengers to! :-D Make no misstake. :-) It was one amusing ride, for sure! And hey, it was a Whedon movie, and man the man's sense of humor SURE shined through. :-)

I never got the Snape-thing either. I don't know. Weird. :-P

And you are right. All fandoms is insane, I suppose. It's just the worship-worship you know... that is what weirds me out. :-P

I haven't seen any of the other movies, except two minutes of Iron Man. Are they as good? Thor seems like the kind of movie I'd like, I think.

I never got the Snape thing either. Snape is just too greasy, and he's a bad teacher. No good associations there... (At least Snape doesn't spy on the girls in the shower...) It's my least favorite Rickman character. Metatron, on the other hand... (If you haven't seen Dogma, I suggest you do. *grins*)

The Iron Man movies kinda surprised me. Yes, we have both here. :-) They were actually really good. :-D So I do recommend them. I've seen Thor to with [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit and we pretty much laughed our asses off at what Marvel has done with mythology and then feel in love with Chris Hemsworth who plays Thor, because he pretty much saved the whole movie. He does SUCH a great job! Also, there's Stellan SkarsgÄrd and I love him. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 warns me of the Hulk movies that has been released these later years... Apparently they suck, so I haven't seen those...

He did order Captain America the other day though, so I plan to watch it either this weekend or during the week that shows up... when Alexandra wants to use me as a bed or pacifier. :-D

Ok, worth watching then, except avoid the Hulk. :-) (Good advice in general, that...)

Ha ha ha! Yeah, it is. ;-) I hope you enjoy them at least a lil. They are a fun ride not to be taken to seriously. I think I'll watch The Incredible Hulk anyway, just so I've seen all of them movies leading up to The Avengers. For the hell of it, you know? And they keep making more movies to! Avengers 2 is in the works as is Thor 2, so there'll be more to watch for sure! :-)

I totally understand where you're coming from because, like I said on my one post, I love Sherlock Holmes but none of these new ones are my Sherlock. It just doesn't feel right! :P

I agree with you about the Avengers -- I really only wanted to see it at first because it was a Joss Whedon movie, and you know, I'm a Joss kind of girl. I'd never see any of the other superhero movies leading up to it, and now I've seen Thor and Iron Man and I don't think they were anywhere as great as the Avengers is. *braces for the wrath of Marvel fans* Like you said, it was huge and full of action and FUN and wit (because Whedon) and a perfect summer action movie, in my opinion.

BUT, I think that a huge majority of the Tom Hiddleston love comes from him as a person and not necessarily Loki. Yeah, I see all the Loki adoration on Tumblr, but I think a lot of it is girls loving on him because of him. I actually started crushing on him before I even saw Avengers because of all his press interviews I saw on YouTube. He's an incredibly well-spoken, intelligent man who's an unashamed fanboy in some ways, who's not afraid to act dorky, and as an actor he's really good but he doesn't take himself over-seriously and the combination makes him quite charming. Especially to U.S. girls who consider an English accent to be really hot. :P Plus, as an unabashed Shakespeare nerd, his love for Shakespeare's works gets me hot. xD

I also think part of the Loki-love is the same as the Spike-love when he first started on Buffy. He's a snarky bad-boy who's kind of cute but once you get to know him he's still a villain that the girls want to see redeemed and sexy. I feel like I'm in the minority because I love Tom but I'm just eh on Loki. xD

I had watched both Iron Man movies and Thor (that I still laugh at... since, Seriously? X-D ) and I enjoyed both off them before watching Avengers. Awesome actors, awesome movies. Same thing with Avengers. Awesome actors, awesome movie. And hey, as you say... Whedon. *grin*

But on Thumblr, I mean... OK. I've seen a bit of Hiddlestone online to, and yeah... He seems like a laugh, but... the worship, I mean... "We are Loki's Army!" or "We are Hiddlestones Army!" When "shouts" like that, almost rally-shouts, go around the net I kinda tend to take a step back and wonder what the heck is going on here...? Because that is some SERIOUS worship going on on Tumblr... Like, worship-worship, you know? And that is just weird.

Besides, he is not the only wellspoken hot man out there... ;-)

Oh, I loved it to! :-) Sure was a ride. And a laugh. I mean, come on... It was a Joss Wheadon movie... How could it not? :-) It is the Loki-worship on Tumblr I really don't get, you know? (And I am afraid I gotta say that Captain America is my least favorite, to be honest... :-P) RDJ's Ironman was so wonderfully snarky, you HAD to love him. :-D
