Midsummer and weightloss....

Right, so... Midsummer celebrations went better then expected. Well, apart from the regular angst and drama.... I don't get that.

Anyway, instead of bringing my folklore costume, I brought my student overall. Since everyone else had student overalls it felt like the right thing to do. And it is easier to be snarky and mean in a student overall... ;-)

It wasn't just us and Kiltfan plus his wife and kids. Oh no. Eo and her Rumanian hubby was there to. (They meet through World of Warcraft and now he's moved here. Quite awesome.) And M and K who are around there 40's and 50's and own a student overall each. In fact, K had his 50'th birthday not that long ago. Who said only young people could be crazy in a student overall? Just saying. *grin* And then there was J as well who had some tough times with family so it put a damper on the party at times, but he got help from friends, so I suppose it all ended well. :-)

Alright, so... Photos? Of course you want photos of crazy people in student overalls filled with patches and slighly drunk... (Well, quite drunk as the day proceeded... I took my first cider at 11am or 12...) Also, all photos are clickable for bigger, should you want to. :-)

Some of the partygoers. ;-) In the back, M from Rumania and J. Then there is [livejournal.com profile] peting73 with his epic beard. And there is Kiltfan in his hat and his daugther L in the front with her very own student overall, custom made. *grin*

L sitting in her own chair with her own drink (lemonade made from pears). And as tradition bids it, flowers in her hair that Eo made her. :-) See Kiltfan sitting right next to his daughter there? Well, his overall was once as white as L's... But since tradition says you should never wash a student overall unless your in it... Well, I'll just leave the rest to your imagination. ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 and Kiltfan discussing the importance of beer... and showing Kiltfans son how a real beer bottle should look like... Boys should start early, right? Right. ;-)

Aaaand you probably wanna know what I look like in my student overall to, right? So here is a photo of me as well, just a slightly drunk at this point, but working on it. ;-) And yes, my overall was once pearly white as well. *grin* And that would be the skin of a real rabbit on my shoulder. Well, a third of it anyway. [livejournal.com profile] chigrima named it Putte once upon a time... On the other shoulder I have a piece of chain mail. My name-sake ain't Xena for nothing!

The view from Kiltfans house... If you go north enough in Sweden there is just woods, woods, woods... and hills and small mountains. Quite pretty though.

[livejournal.com profile] peting73, Kiltfan and his daughter L and Eo playing boule. :-) I was standing on the balcony taking the photo, so they couldn't run away! *lol*

Kiltfan and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 in the kitchen doing what they do best... Create magic and damn delicious food... Excuse the fussy photo. They moved around quite quickly and.... I was damn drunk at this point. X-D

Didn't take more photos, since we mostly just sat around talking and drinking... and I got increasingly drunk. X-D I went to bed around 11pm, being the first to go to bed after the kids. I didn't drink as much as [livejournal.com profile] peting73 did, but he can hold his alcohol waaaay better then me, and I am still pretty good. 6 strong ciders I drank, and some shots from Kiltfans wife... She seems to like me, even if I have some problems standing her. Strange. So overal it was a great Midsummer celebration, I'd say. :-)

It was an 8 hour drive there... [livejournal.com profile] peting73 drove the whole way there... I drove the whole way back. It wasn't very fun. Damn why did they have to move so far away? *grumble*

Right so... Since we got home me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 has started on a diet, Modifast (Swedish link, English link). It is a bit like the Cambridge diet that we were on around two years ago. I've gained weight since then again... Damn annoying. So now we are going to do this again. We'll be on this diet for about a month or so and see what it can do. It is hardest the first two or three days so right now, on day two, I am damn hungry. But I know it'll pass soon enough. And it'll be worth it to. I know.

My ticker:

And also... I am apparently Tom Kaulitz. *lol*

Looks like you guys had a really fun time! Drunk as you got. lol That's awesome. :)

Also, I am Georg. xD

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was quite awesome. :-) Surprisingly so. Apart from the long drive, but what don't you do to visit friends, right?

[identity profile] astroflammante.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Crazy people, booze and overalls.... Seems familiar, somehow. *grins* Seems you had a very nice Midsummer.

(And yeah, your new and improved layout is much, much better. Now I have nothing to blame the errors on. ;-P )

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
*laugh* Well, you would find that scenario familiar, wouldn't you? *lol* Still got your overall tucked away somewhere? ;-)

New and improved? Nah... Just the colour of the font that is changed. Nothing else. :-)

[identity profile] astroflammante.livejournal.com 2011-06-29 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah... *grins* And of course I still have my overall! It's living on the top shelf of the linen closet. I probably ought to air it out a bit though... Textiles should never be put away in storage unwashed, so my overall might need a bit of air by now... *grins*

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-06-30 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, yeah... They do need some air now and then, really... We actually have ours on hangers, to make sure they don't get any worse then they already are. Easy to just hang them out on the balcony to air a bit now and then when you do. :-) It is silly how much care it goes into those things, isn't it? *lol*

[identity profile] astroflammante.livejournal.com 2011-07-01 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have it on a hanger, but I don't have the space. So it's in a paper bag ( Not plastic, that would be bad, stinky mold bad...) on a shelf.

And they are important enough to care for, I think. *grins* Or give a proper burial, as one of my brother's friends did: at the last student party he went to, Sjöslaget ( the one that's on the Finland ferry) he gave his overall a burial at sea. With fitting ceremony and songs, I'm told. :-D

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
Really? That is kinda cool to do that. Very fitting on a student party to. :-) I should say it is either that OR take good care of it. I even found some patches I hadn't put on, so now I am all inspired to do so... I mean it is the 30th anniversary of the SexMasters next year.... I should have all my patches on then, right? ;-)

[identity profile] astroflammante.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I have a couple patches I need to sew on too... I don't have any work next week, maybe I should put "air out overall and sew on patches" on my to-do list?

Might be a good idea... *grins*

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Might be a good idea, yeah.... I think I'll do that to. :-)

Glad it wasn't too stressful. The scenery is amazing.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it is quite amazing. But driving through all them woods was quite dull though, I must say.... Hours after hours of just woods and woods... :-P

[identity profile] musique-style.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Seems like you all had a bunch of fun! I'm so glad! =) It was fun seeing pictures of you and your friends ^_^

Good luck with the diet!

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-06-29 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah... :-) We really did. A blast. Despite me not getting along with everyone it all turned out awesome anyway!

And thank you! So far so good, I say. We're both doing really good. Not that hungry and my weight is definitely falling off. ;-)

[identity profile] ruchirahni.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I'm really glad that you didn't have a bad time like you were expecting to and you got along with Kiltfan's wife better than you thought, considering how much you love this holiday! I know you look forward to it every year. So nice to see a nice summers day in Sweden and you having a great time!

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
You can't get along with everyone, that is all I say. :-) So I hung out as much as I could with the others, and hence I had a pretty good time.

Midsummer Eve is awesome! I wish more people would get the chance to celebrate it. :-)
