I bet that title caught your attention, yes? X-D
Well, tomorrow it is time for the vampire- LARP. Rose Valentine and her lover Nils Turesson Bielke is the hosts for the evening. And, like good hosts they'll of course offer refreshments to there guests. And what do you offer a vampire? Well... blood. :-)
Some time ago a LARPer shared this site: The Raven's Fake Blood Recipes. They are brilliant! LARPer in question also brought some fake blood over to a LARP that he had made from the recipe called realistic looking mint blood. It was so sweet it almost hurt my teeth! o.O So, I decided to go with another recipe that must have been made with woman vampire-LARPers in mind: Chocolate blood. ;-)
So... Off to the kitchen we went, me and
peting73 to take photos of this experiment. X-D

Best part with this is that there is nothing dangerous in the recipe. See? Cocoa, syrup, yellow food colouring, green food colouring, red food colouring (of course!). Thats it. I also got a glass-bowl to mix in, so you could see the silliness. :-)

Water, cocoa and syrup so far. A messy job to make blood, I must say...

Mix, mix.... I admit, I couldn't stop giggle the entire time I was doing this, X-D

I almost dropped the red colouring in the bowl, so it a bit to much red colouring and a bit to much water in this batch. But it still looks kinda cool. The water we used for this one was cold, so it was a bit hard to mix out the cocoa.
So we tried again, with less water (and hot this time), less red and it turned out much, much better. Looked great. Tasted really really sweet and very chocolaty. Not as sweet as the other kind of blood on that site though, so an improvement definitly.

Looks quite realistic don't it? Yeah. It does look quite real, I'd say. Will do it's job in wine-glasses tomorrow in candle-light... :-D
(Note: THIS IS NOT REAL BLOOD! IT IS FAKE!!!!)
Just to test said theory, I did save the successful batch in the fridge and then poured it up in a wine-glass to see what it looked like. :-)

Hmm... Yummy...
(Note: THIS IS NOT REAL BLOOD! IT IS FAKE!!!!)

It still looks pretty good in the wine-glass even when I drink it, hmm? As said, it mostly tastes off sweet chocolate, so I think I can survive drinking it, yes. But I doubt I'll have to do much off it, since it is so sweet, I don't think anyone can stomach to drink more then one glass. ;-)
(Note: THIS IS NOT REAL BLOOD! IT IS FAKE!!!!)
Plans done and ready for the vampire-LARP tomorrow! :-D I am so looking forward to this, you have no idea. I hope I didn't freak people out to much with this post. ;-)
