Lets start with last weekend, because that was really, really lovely. :-) My mom invited me and Peting, brother and his fiance and also her neighbors to a barbecue, as a thank you for all the help we have giving her since she became a widow. It was a blast. Was really good to see mom to. Since she started on this Cambridge Diet she has lost so much weight, and she is feeling great. It is a joy to see, really is. :-)
So all was good indeed it was. Was fun meeting mom's two cats as well. Mom is the families Crazy Cat Lady. :-D She LOVES cats! She has two of them. One is only partly Main Coon, his name is Måns. The other one is 100% Main Coon, his name is Sigge. Sigge was very expensive, but mom has dreamt about buying one of those cats for years. Finally she did. That cat is GORGEOUS, I tell ya'!!!! Not that the other one isn't, or ours isn't, but ya' know... I guess it is the fact that they are so huge, but still so graceful that does it. :-)
Here, have some pics of Sigge and me. :-D

Hmm... Is that a stick? Or prey? I can't decide...

If I sniff it, maybe I can figure it out....

Why, yes, I am a very handsome gentleman, I am.....
He is quite huge now, but Main Coon cats grow until they are three years old... Sigge is only two.... o.O He is going to be HUGE!!! He is very cuddly and mom can do near to whatever she pleases with him. :-D When he is done growing he is probably gonna weigh 10 kilo's (22 pounds) or more.... o.O That is one big cat. Mom is going to castrate him to so he will probably grow even bigger... Well, as long as he is one friendly and cuddly cat that gets lots of loving, I doubt that would be a problem. :-)
While waiting for the rest of the people to get there (we were there quite early me and Peting) I not only amused myself with playing with Sigge, I also amused myself with just laying on the grass and enjoying life. :-) These pictures I blame on
beanbeans. She is taking such gorgeous close up photo's with her camera that I LOVE! So I tried it to. My camera is not near as good as hears, but I think they turned out alright still. :-)

Well... Green grass. :-) I usually lay on my stomach when I lay on the grass contemplating the world.

Not only grass on moms lawn. These tiny tiny cute flowers grow in it to. So small you almost miss them. I had to take a picture of them. Turned out alright, and very summery! Using this pic as my desktop at the moment. :-D
Well, there wasn't only cats at the party, the neighbors where there to, wish was fun since I haven't talked to them in a long time. :-) My brother and his family was there to, wish was great. I hadn't seen them for awhile, and meeting little Tilda, my brothers daughter, is always wonderful. :-) She has grown so much since I saw her last. It is amazing....

Tilda and her mom. Now isn't that a cute kid? I am just saying... :-D

My mother being a proud grandmom. :-D She and Tilda I am sure are having a very interesting discussion... Of some sort. :-D
My brother and Peting dodged the camera... :-P I think this is a male thing.
So all in all it was a wonderful party and I had a blast, I really did! Since Peting was going to work nights between sunday and monday, we didn't stay the night (party was at saturday), so we went home in the middle of the night... Two hour drive, approximately. :-D Good thing we like staying up at night. *smirk*
So this week has been pretty good. I only worked monday, tuesday and wednesday. Quite nice to have two days off in the middle of the week. Only not nice is that now I have to work 7 days straight. I am not amused by this, but oh well... I'll work evenings the entire time, so that makes it easier even though I won't have any kind of social life during the coming week. :-P
On ze internet-news, I have found another PotC-rpg, this time on Insane Journal. So... I went and applied for it. All the rpgs I have been in lately has just... died. People stop posting without leaving the game or telling anyone why. Not cool, thinks I. Even the mods are gone! So I left both of them after a month of silence. I have high hopes for this game, though. Looks really good! Chatted a bit with one of the mods to, so... I am hopeful. Lets just keep our fingers crossed my application will be accepted to! :-D
On ze World of Warcraft news, I have had a serious blast with my little gnome warrioress Caina lately! They had a Midsummer event in WoW for two weeks now where you could run around everywhere and visit fires and by doing so collecting fire-flowers. For these flowers you could by special items in the game. So... Caina got a new set of clothes. :-D

Caina strutting her new set of clothes in Ironforge... And watching a bunch of players who have figured out how to use the special item, the juggling torch, to juggle between each other! Looked really neat!
Not only did I collect enough fire-flowers for a new set of clothes for Caina, but I also managed to get enough so I could buy her a new minipet. :-D I love the mini-pets in the game. They don't do anything, they are just following your character around, being cute. :-) So I got the midsummer-pet, Spirit of Summer. It is a floating red... fire-blob. But I think it is cute. :-) I was also insanely lucky when I was running around doing the last quest before heading for the next areas, Outland, that another mini-pet dropped... A really, really rare one to! The Azure Whelpling!!!! *gasp* Caina got a blue mini-dragon!!! All her own! Woot! :-D
WOW! Long post! But I haven't updated in a week, so I guess I am forgiven.... I hope? *gives puppydog-eyes*

And I've never played world of warcraft but it seems like fun, so I might try it.

Date: 2008-07-07 05:30 pm (UTC)Here they aren't all that expesive a cat unless they're purepred and pedigreed, but they make excellent cats for children and farms. In Maine, they're everwhere as strays and no big deal. They do get much larger than the average housecat though, and often end up in shelters because they aren't the expected cute and small size cats should be.

Date: 2008-07-07 08:41 pm (UTC)It does make sense that they are not that expensive over there. It is an american cat-breed after all. So far, they are not that common in Sweden. You can find good breeders, but you have to look for them a bit.
Me, I prefer big cats then small once. I have grown up with house-cats my whole life, house-cats all of them. I currently have your everyday house-cats, two of them. But one day, in the future I want a maine coon to. I think they are one cool cat-breed. :-D
