This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

I am screwed... *smirk* I am finding gorogus layouts everywhere! And I am slowly learning how to use them to. I think it has to do with the coders writing so easy tutoriouls nowadays... :-) This one I found when I stumbled upon in the community [livejournal.com profile] gawariel_design. Ain't it GORGOUS!!! o.O I am slowly turning into one off those that change there layout all the time...

Also, some links for today. This one [livejournal.com profile] beanbeans shared with her flist not that long ago. It is really odd... and also oddly calming. I highly recommend you check it out. The Book of Now....

I am also asking you to join [livejournal.com profile] fandomnominates to discuss who all the different fandoms wants to put on the LJ-board. There can only be two... to speak for us all on LJ. [livejournal.com profile] japewierd is usally on top of things, so more info about the sell of LJ check her link-filled info here.

Talking of fandoms, as much as we love... whatever fandom we are in, be it PotC, Xena, Buffy, Robin Hood, Kingdom Hearts or... what have you. It is supposed to be fun, ain't it? A place for us all to relax and laugh at or just drool at our favorite characters in different shows or movies together with others who think they are hot to. But sometimes the drama lama shows its ugly head or someone is just plain mean and evul. These things usually blow off and all is well in the verse again. But sometimes things go bad. Really bad. And that? Just pisses me off. [livejournal.com profile] silvestris, we have not agreed on everything, and we have had our heated discussions for sure. But... Women, you deserve so much more. You are a shining star, really. Hang in there, eh. I hope [livejournal.com profile] chigrima is a support for you, she has always been for me since I meet her.

For something completly different, that might cheer people up after my above rant, I found this wonderful PotC vid that is just... a hoot and a laugh really. Pirates... and country-music? Oh yes... :-D It works. And well. Check the music-vid Backwards out made by [livejournal.com profile] tiniowien. It is worth it. A small warning though, it contains spoilers for AWE for those who have not seen it yet.

To end it all, a small meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] starrygirl604. If you want me to I'll answer your comment with this:

1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.

It is very shiny, ain't it? :-D It is not 100% practical, but hey... You can't have everything, right? ;-)

Right. Meme for you then. :-)

1. Tell you why I friended you.
Well, duh! Your a very dear friend of min, of course! :-D

2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
You are the Lady in Black. The color black will follow you for good, me thinks. That and also Betty Page. ;-)

3. Tell you something I like about you.
Your style. You always carry yourself with class, looking like the classy lady but with a sting. That rocks. *nod*

4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
..... I'll just leavee this open.

5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
How come you ended up with that classy lady look? Just curious. :-)

6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
It would be this one, because he looks so wonderfully suprised and it is just what one needs for a WTF!-comment or entry. :-) I love it!

To be honest, I have no idea how I ended up with this look... I was utterly uninterested in clothes and makeup and all that "girlie stuff" when I was 14-15. And then, at age 18 or so, I decided that even if I was as ugly as I had always been told I could at least learn to use makeup and things like that to make myself prettier. And I guess the ladylike style grew out of me being a history nerd: I didn't find anything but crap in the fashion and celebrity gossip mags, so I went to the fashion history books*.

Or maybe it was the fact that I fell in love** with a absolutely gorgeous girl in my class and wanted to look like her, which led to the discovery that these "Goth" people really know how to dress. (And there's great music too!) And then, a couple of years later, I found Bettie Page, and Dita van Teese, and the whole burlesque scene. Spending lots of time online admiring pretty women probably helped too.

Or maybe it was all that, and more... I can't point to one specific thing, I have just done what seemed to be most fun. :-)

* In which I found corsets. And opera-length gloves. And bustle skirts... Oh my.

** Didn't realise that then, of course. Me stupid. :-)

I forgot to mention that overcoming my fear of high heels was a big part... :-)

Doing what is most fun usually have alot to do with things, don't it? Or do what one is most comfortable with, the rest be damned. :-D

Yeah; and it gives itself food for growth. Being comfy and having fun means better confidence, which means having even more fun with one's clothing since one learns to not care about the naysayers. And then you get even more confident. For once, there's an upwards-spiraling thing in my life... *grins*
