My weekend...

... was quite good. Apart from one mayor stupid mishap that I did today... I'll get to it.

Saturday we spent with [livejournal.com profile] peting73's cousin. What with his mom and aunt being really close, they more or less grew up together since neither have any siblings, so whenever we hang out she grows all excited and is loving on her older cousin. She has a small mental handicap and lives in a special apartment where she has access to staff 24/7. It's a great great place, quite new and I have great envy of her wallpaper (no joke!). She ADORES Alexandra so it was a great great time going there to visit and celebrate her birthday. :-D She lives really close to. We can see the house from our kitchen-window. :-)

Evening was spent eating holy unhealthy US food and watching Game of Thrones (as I've mentioned) and just hanging out on the internet while hubby was at the LARP.... I can not believe I'm actually caught up with my f-list. Actually a bit impressed by self. :-)

Today though was when I did the stupid... Usually I drink between 2-3 traveling mugs of tea... Today I didn't. I hung out with Alexandra while hubby slept, just being lazy in the couch. And then when he woke up, we decided one of us go outside with kiddo and the other cleaning the floors and vacuuming the place. Alexandra wanted to go out with me, so that was what happened. Cue no tea. She had a bit of a temper tantrum to when I told her she had to bring her own toys back inside when we were done playing. Not popular.

And during all of this a massive headache started to grow. And it stuck with me during dinner, during cuddles with Alexandra, during finishing the cleanup of the apartment and during me going grocery shopping... It does not a happy KSena make. :-P It didn't disappear until I had some tea after Alexandra had gone to bed.

So in other words it's official, something I never thought would happen... I'm addicted to tea. Oops? Will not make that mistake again, let me tell you.

I've had the same experience (I drink loads and loads of tea every day and regret it if I don't). But I think it's lack of fluids rather than lack of tea, specifically, that's causing the headache. In other words, I'm sure that if you'd had water instead of tea you would have been fine.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't be to much lack of fluids since tea, just like coffee, is hydragogue. And I do drink loads of water as well. And yeah, I didn't drink as much water as I usually do, but quite a bit still. So I'm quite sure it was the tea indeed. :-P

There goes that theory :-)

I wonder if the strength makes a difference. Personally, I drink my tea very weak (water with a bit of colour, as some say).

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-30 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I drink my tea moderate. :-) That is, not weak and not strong. And with a lot of honey. ;-) I've considered if that makes a difference... Maybe it does?

Yeeeeah. Me and Caffine are too good of friends. I have to have at least one caffinated drink a day

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's good to know I'm not the only one. :-)

[identity profile] synkkaenkeli.livejournal.com 2016-03-22 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
definiately not :-D

[identity profile] slaymesoftly.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
I have been making a point lately to cut down on the amount of tea I consume during the day. It was very difficult at first as I felt like a zombie, but I seem to be getting used to it little by little. The warmer weather helped - I didn't feel like I needed something warm all the time. Apparently even tea has enough caffeine to cause an addiction if you drink enough of it long enough.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure it's called caffeine in tea, but it does indeed work the same way. For me I've ended up drinking more tea without even noticing it. It's silly really. *lol* I haven't been drinking it that long, only a few years and it's just these last two years or so that I've drank a lot of it. Apparently that was enough time.

[identity profile] slaymesoftly.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It is caffeine, just less of it than you get in coffee. Which can fool you into thinking there won't be any physical reactions to it.

Of course, if you're drinking herbal teas or de-caf, then that's a very different thing.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-30 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be different then, yeah... But I drink regular tea with honey in it, so I'm screwed then I suppose. *LOL*

All work and no tea make ksena go CRAZY!

I had that problem with coffee and I was so upset with myself for letting it get that bad, I stopped drinking it for awhile (I actually switched to tea, which was like joining a cult, once I told people who liked tea that now I liked tea, they started to give me tea to try and strainer...it was weird)

I drink both now though, but not every day because there is something freaky about realizing I'm addicted to caffeine.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha ha! Yeah, basically. Crazy KSena is no good. ;-)

Join the darkside! We have cookies... AND TEA! X-D

It is a bit freaky, and I mean... I teased my mom about it for years. She drank A LOT of coffee once, but have gone down to just a few cups a day at this point. Now though she is teasing me!

[identity profile] orangerful.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to say there are a lot more interesting flavors of tea than coffee. Everything coffee tastes like coffee, but teas can range all over the place! My friend just bought me some crazy almond amaretto something something and I put a splash of milk in it and it tastes like strawberry Quick LOL

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-30 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That is very true! I love fruity teas! I really really do! So lovely! I just finished some strawberry tea just now actually that had some tiny hearts mixed in. I have no idea what the little hearts did to the flavor but I guess there was for show since I got it during Valentines. :-D

[identity profile] velvetwhip.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Clearly tea-totaling does not work for you.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That would definitely be true, yeah. :-P

[identity profile] brunettepet.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize there was enough caffeine to really get addicted to tea.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think it's called caffeine in tea, but the effects are basically the same. And apparently there IS enough in tea to work the same way. Who knew? :-P

[identity profile] trepkos.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think tea addiction would give you a headache that quickly - you were probably just dehydrated. I get terrible headaches if I get dehydrated.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I do believe it might have been a combination... I didn't drink quite as much as I usually do, but it wasn't exactly little either. Also, the reason I drink more water while drinking tea is because it's hydragogue so you need to drink more water, just like with coffee. I should have been fine. I rarely get headaches at all, even when not drinking enough. So it was just very weird all of it.

[identity profile] snogged.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had the same experience with coffee and also not drinking enough water. It could either by lack of caffeine or dehydration. I'm glad drinking the tea later helped make the headache go away.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-21 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
To me I think it was a combination, to be honest. But the tea sure helped. I could almost feel the headache flow off of me. :-D Blissful! And I rarely get headaches to start with. :-)

[identity profile] ruchirahni.livejournal.com 2016-03-22 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK ON LJ!!! (a little late to the party, sorry!)

i get the same thing when i don't have either pepsi or coffee. it's rough! it's the worst kind of headache. x_x

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-30 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear I'm missed. :-D

And yes, indeed. I'd never had quite a headache like that before. Horrible really. :-/ And I'll make sure to avoid it in the future. :-P

Is it at least healthy tea? Mine is just sugary junk food but I love it.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2016-03-30 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if it is healthy. *lol* I buy lose tea from those nice tea-stores and then I throw in a lot of honey in it. *LOL* Still very sweet, but not at least a little healthy? :-D Honey is supposed to be good for you at least. ;-)

Honey is very good for you. I'd say yours is very healthy and mine is not. LOL
