So the LARP... The post-apocalyptic Fallout LARP (Based on the video-games Fallout)... Which was A TON of fun, of course! Even if waaaaay less dramatic for my character than I had expected...
Anyway. On Thursday me and J set up my tent (that I to my happiness had found in our storage!). In pouring rain. Both me and him had our 'well, this ain't going to be very fun'-faces on. J is a military guy, so he is all used to roughing it, but I'm not! Which he teased me about some while we set up the tent. Although, he was very grateful for me bringing it, since he'd sleep in it to, what with our characters being lovers and all. Tent up, we left and J promised to come pick me up the next day (in dry clothes).
Next day arrived. With SUN-SHINE! :-D And perfect summer-weather! JOY!
So the tent dried up and we fixed our camp me and J. Looked great and I went in first to change to my IC clothing. Sitting down on the bed I made up I felt something biting my ass... o.O Not very comfortable and it didn't stop. Finally I noticed the problem. We had set our camp in the MIDST of a nest of European Fire Ants... NOT GOOD! And might I say being bitten by those little critters was NOT comfortable! Especially not on my ass...
So we moved our camp. And fixed it up. Only to discover more of them ants! So we moved it again and finally found a camp-spot without ants. PHEW! Was a bit of a rocky start there...
Anyway, so the LARP started around 1 or 2pm, a bit later than planned, but LARP's never really start when planned. It's a rule or something, I think.
I won't go into detail about mine and J's plot since J don't want that to be common knowledge in case another LARPer reads here (and it's a bit of a... crazy plot if somewhat awesome... and I always get dragged into his crazy plots for some reason...).
Safe to say is that Katya, my character, has been on a long ass trip for two years, despite being madly in love with J's character Alexander. She has sent love-letters during this time, which has kept their feelings very much alive. During her trips she has learned how to use herbs to help people heal.
This skill came very much in handy this year, since a plague started to run through the little village, and it only effected the humans. Not the ghouls nor the mutants in the village... It made those effected cough blood and had them really weak. Katya's herbs could help them, but not cure them. However, a group of human travels from the University from a bigger town could decipher a dying man's scribbled papers and figure out a cure together with Katya's herbal knowledge.
So she kinda helped save the village, which was cool! :-D

peting73. And I had NO IDEA he was going to do a guest-appearance for a few hours! :-D Totally surprised me, which was A LOT of fun! Alexandra was with his mom in the meantime, and since she loves her grandma it had worked out just excellent!
Katya also made friends with the current owner of the bordello and bar where she'd previously worked as a hooker. And even though life was kinda hard for Katya and Alexander economically vise, she refused to going back to it, having had enough of that. For sure, she had sold herself when money was a bit to tough on the road, but on a regular basis? Not again. However, not only her new friend but her brother who worked at the bar, begged her to take over the bar if something happened to the current owner.
And, of course, it does. *lol* Current owner ends up a ghoul as well, so... I guess next year Katya is owning both bar and bordello? Which makes her one of the most influential characters in the village, especially considering she might marry Alexander, who is the sheriff and law in the little village!!! :-D One could say that is a HUGE step up from the first LARP I played her when she was the BDSM hooker in town who everyone went to when they wanted to get their aggression's out... *LOL*
I love Katya. She is a character who has seen a lot, gone through a lot and has finally found love and some sort of stability again in a very very bleak and harsh post apocalyptic world. She has quite the mouth on her, and is not afraid to speak her mind if needed, while also be fiercely protective of those she loves, which includes Alexander and a grown son who is traveling this dangerous world.
To say I can not wait for next year again, would be an understatement. :-) I know for a fact that J has already started to figure out how to make things even more problematic for us... if even possible... *LOL*
