The pre-birthday party and all that...
Yep. It ended up really fine, that pre-birthday party for Alexandra.
We went over to moms and took it easy the day before. Well, evening before more like. And then during the Saturday, we picked up the cakes that mom had ordered from a lovely little bakery in the village, and fixed everything up... Took care of Alexandra and well... It just was a lovely time of it all. Alexandra got to try something sweet for the first time, that is her cake... I made sure she was only in her diaper in her high chair and let her have it on the cake. I think she got two or three tiny mouthfuls in. The rest was... ALL over her! X-D And I mean that. From head to toe! Not even joking! *laughs* Thank heavens for IKEA high chairs, because they are darn easy to clean up after such a mess! She got lots of clothes as gifts, one handmade with kittens on it that I absolutely find adorable! :-D Not that many toys, and thankfully no soft toys... She got SOOOO many soft toys it is insane!
So all in all it was a success. :-)
And for those that were concerned in my last post about it, I did make a good point about that next year we'll be HERE. In OUR home. :-) I did point it out friendly enough, so no one was hurt or anything, and still I think I got the point got across. I suspect there'll be plenty visits next year. ;-) *happy*
Only sad thing was when we got into discussing the four big predators here in the North. That is: wolf, bear, wolverine, lynx. I love these animals. They are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and by FAR my favorite wild animals ever. I do have a wolf tattooed on my shoulder/upper arm for a reason... My relatives, however, are mostly farmers. And to farmers any predators are the enemies, so while I am VERY happy the wolves are getting stronger and more plentiful here in Sweden, they are not. And are just as blunt and honest as me in their discussions, so yeah... :-/ Not so much fun to listen to. *shrug* But that was the only thing that put a damper on it. Thank heavens they didn't stay on that discussion for to long. :-P
Now I am preparing for the REAL birthday party on Friday, when Alexandras birthday is. She was, after all, born 35mins after midnight just when it had turned into 9th of August. :-)
I think I got all of it covered, cake, cookies and all. Cleaned the kitchen today, so it shines. And made sure the rest of the apartment ain't to much a mess. :-) So there's that.
AND! Since the big post-apocalyptic Fallout-LARP is this weekend as well, and I can't join, I did prepare some surprises for my good friend who I am doing some plotting with. ;-) I play his lover/mistress, and since I can't join the LARP this year I prepared some loveletters for his character. With some gifts in them... *wicked grin* He'll have a blast checking them out during the LARP! So I have to visit the grounds where the LARP is to take place, just to give the letters to the GM's/organizers. :-)
But that shouldn't take to long, and then... back to cleaning and baking!
