Oh my FUCKING gawd... what a day... *collapses*

Well, it started yesterday, actually... And yesterday was a pretty awesome day, at least for me and Alexandra. :-) We went to the Open Preschool in the area. They have special hours for kids 0-1 years old (9-12am on Thursdays), so it is only babies and their moms (and some dads) there. It's really nice! Both for me and Alexandra! She gets to hang out with babies her age, and I get to talk to other moms. It's awesome. :-) I've been there twice, and I am SOOOO keeping this up! I've gotten it into my head that it is good for Alexandra and her development, you know?

When I was pregnant I went to some classes to prepare for the birth, and when I did, I meet another mom there that expected twins that was very nice. And what do you know... She goes to said Open Preschool to! :-D So we hung out a bit and talked and had a good time. She is great, and we decided to meet up next week to. :-) She is bottle-feeding to, btw (we talked about that a bit). She tried breastfeeding both of her twins for two months, but it was a pain in the ass to do so apparently. X-D So she went to bottle-feed them since then she could feed one and get help feeding the other. :-) Makes sense. She was SO fun to talk to! Gonna be great to do so again! Was plenty other nice parents and kids there to, of course. Felt SO much more welcome there then at the parenting group, my gawd...

Anyway, the plan was for [livejournal.com profile] peting73 to join us, since he has this week off. Alas, that did not happen, unfortunately. Since he had a lunch-date with a workmate... or ex-workmate I might say, since he just go fired, poor man... :-/ And he was SO nice to! Anyway, so of course he wanted to meet up with him.

Me and Alexandra had a lot of fun, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had a good time with his friends and then we meet up at home again to just hang out for the rest of the evening. :-)

I took a nap, and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 took care of Alexandra...

Then I woke up... and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was standing laughing and groaning in pain at the same time... Apparently he had had a snap in his back when he was putting Alexandra in her baby sitter, and then he'd just fallen over and been rolling on his back on the floor in front of her in pain... (Which our daughter had found fun, apparently!) He was in SOOOO much pain he could barely walk...

So we went to bed early (me taking care of Alexandra the rest of the evening), he stealing some of the pain-meds I have for my bad menstrual cramps.

Today? He was worse. Much worse. He more or less crawled around the apartment. Swearing and groaning in pain... nearly throwing up from the pain! Still stealing my pain-meds, but now they made NO difference. We called 1177 to get medical advice and they told us to contact the local district health care center. So we did. They wanted us to come there...

Right. With a 3 month baby, how would I be able to help [livejournal.com profile] peting73 walk AND take care of her at the same time? Because he said there was NO WAY he would be able to walk down the stairs and get in the backseat of the car! (Alexandra travels in the frontseat.) So that was out. Only option left, ambulance. So we called the ambulance and they came her and helped him get to a Doc at the hospital instead.

Just after they picked him up, of course Alexandra got hungry... And did I mention it was laundry-day today? With a shitload of laundry courtesy of Alexandra? So, I quickly took Alexandra with me to the laundry room, and fixed some loads of laundry... feed her food... and while I was doing that, [livejournal.com profile] peting73 called, said he'd gotten some strong pain-meds and we had to pick him up so he could go to another Doc and get some more on prescription... and could we get there as soon as possible?

Cue stress... You don't do things quick with a 3 month old. And she hadn't finished eating! o.O

So, gladly Alexandra was in a good mood today, so she finished eating quite quickly, and while I was getting her and myself dressed...

The phone rang. [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit, my best friend. And I usually talk LOOONG with her on the phone. Not now though, told her sorry and hung up. Right. Back to get me and Alexandra ready, right? Or so I thought. The door-bell rang! Me = ARGH! Opened the door with a partly dressed Alexandra on the arm. Two more ambulancemen who wanted to pick up [livejournal.com profile] peting73. Confusion! But we settled it quickly and me and Alexandra could FINALLY go pick up [livejournal.com profile] peting73 at the hospital... even if we went to the wrong entrance at first... and got JUST in time to the meeting with the other Doc at another District health care center. PHEW!

My adrenaline was flying high at this point and I was stressed beyond belief, shugging Alexandra with me everywhere. She is heavy, and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 can't really help me carry her, can he?

Phew. Anyway, he has apparently ended up with a bad case of lumbago, and he has some more pain meds to deal with the pain. And he was advised to get massage on somewhat regularity since his back was unbelievably tense as well.

Home, I fixed dinner from the stuff I'd shopped during the day... Oh yeah, I managed to go shopping with Alexandra somewhere in there to... So I fixed dinner as well, finished of the laundry... Made sure [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had everything he needed... so he could feed Alexandra her evening/night meal...

Aaaaand... now I am just ready to collapse.

But first, some wicked fanfic for me. I think I deserve it. Oh, and I got ice-cream...

It was SUCH a mess, geezes.. I was all over the place at once! My gawd... I am amazed we managed, to be honest. But we did! So go us! And Alexandra was GREAT! No crying no nothing. Only when she was hungry, but I know at what time she gets hungry pretty much at this point... So it worked out for the best. Still, it was one CRAZY day!

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 is doing better now. Not good, but better. So he is slowly healing. :-)

Yeah, that was one HELL of a day. No more of that, thank you. Good thing Alexandra was in a good mood, or it would have been even worse. :-P

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 is doing better now, not good, but much better. So he is healing, if slowly. :-)

It wasn't pretty, no. And it wasn't like I could help [livejournal.com profile] peting73 much either. :-P A crazy day taking care of both of them. [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had nothing but praise for me that I managed. Shopping, laundry, Alexandra, driving around [livejournal.com profile] peting73... A very VERY crazy day!

Indeed! I haven't had quite such a crazy day in a long time, to be honest! o.O I am surprised I manged! At the end of the day when we were finally on our way home, I told [livejournal.com profile] peting73 that I feel drunk or high... because I was so stressed out... That ice-cream helped with that though. :-) And [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is doing much better. He ain't good yet, but doing better healing slowly. :-)

He is. :-) Healing slowly, but steadily. Not good yet by a long shot, but he ain't crawling around, so I call that progress... He is somewhat annoyed though that he feels handicapped and can't help me that much. :-P

Oh no! That's horrible! I really hope peting73 is feeling much better. Back pain is horrible, the poor guy. At least he got some help, and Alexandra found it humorous! xD

I'm so sorry you've had such a crazy time. Hope that he feels better soon and hope that you're able to take care of things without being overwhelmed. Or get some help, don't overdo it yourself! Hope you can both get some rest and relaxation! <3

Without being overwhelmed....?

........

LOOK WHO'S TALKING!!!! *cough-cough*

I only had ONE crazy day... and it ended with ice-cream courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] peting73 since he thought I was that awesome.

He is healing, slwoly but steadily. And taking his meds like he should (he don't like pills...). So it'll have a good ending in the end. [livejournal.com profile] peting73 just needs to let the healing take it's time. :-)

Ironically, I have spent all semester learning about what happened to petings back at that moment. do you guys have DOs in Sweden??? Yu should totally find one that does OMM! I would try to help if i were there (but I'm a student and still learning so probably not the best idea :P) I'm sorry you were so stressed and I hope he feels better!! I can only imagine how much pain he's in.. those muscles he's damaged are so important for every single move!! Give him a (gentle) hug for me and give him all my love for a speedy recovery.

and seriously! try and find a do! <3

I have NO IDEA what a DO is? Or even OMM???? Girl, you have gone all scientific and technical on me... X-D Can you tell me in a language NOT greek? *laughs ass off* X-D

It was one of those insane days that really... You can just laugh at in hindsight, because I could only do the best I could during the whole thing. :-)

WAHHHHHH =( I'M A DO =( =( or at least i'm going to be

So in the US at least and in Europe too there are 2 doctor degrees: M.D (medical doctor) and D.O (doctor of osteopathy). used to be a difference in philosophy: M.Ds (more common) treated the disease more so than the patient and relied heavily on medications whereas D.Os look at the entire patient; nutrition and overall health and treat the disease second. still use medicine but in light of everything going on with the patient. in addition, DOs use osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) where we use our hands and specific techniques to manipulate the spine in a certain way. we are the only ones who are trained in this technique. it is an additional bonus to MD schools. it's quite difficult, and i still haven't quite got the hang of it, but i would like to.

what happened to petting is very common and seriously we HAVE spent the whole semester learning about it and techniques to fix it!! hence why i said to look for a DO or the equivalent there. we can cause a lot of relief if we do it right =) i am not sure if DOs are recognized in sweden though; or if there are any DO schools or the like there.

so there. that is what i am!! i can't believe i have never posted about it :(

Well, see... Swedish here... ;-) So the less technical terms the better.

*have checked wiki and online dictionary*

Aha! I get it. Yes, they exist here to. :-)

My brother have back-problems to. While working outside a whole day on the grounds at the farm he works at... he was at an old barn and a door that was filled with water that had frozen to heavy ice... fell over him. It was heavy and hard... It hurt and his back hasn't been the same since. He goes to a naprapath with somewhat regularity, and says it helps a ton. So, Peting might look into that actually. :-)

Open Preschool is just AWESOME! Not sure if it exist in other countries or not... but I love it. :-D

Sadly my new/old acquaintance wasn't there this Thursday, but she got twins so I understand if things can get a bit crazy sometimes and you just can't get out of the house. :-) I am sure we'll run into each other there again. :-)
