I've been trying to write this since Thursday... Anyway. :-) Here goes.

Home... Finally home. Me and Alexandra got to go home on Wednesday. :-) Finally!

If you didn't understand it from my internet-silence, then I'll tell you.

Nerd Jr has finally been born.

Yes. Thursday night (or morning?) 9th of August at 00:35am I gave birth to a girl. A little girl that me and peting73 decided to name Alexandra.

It was one rushed delivery to. Even the midwifes and nurses there thought so and nicknamed Alexandra the racing-baby. :-)

Gonna spare you to many details, but... water broke at 1pm, first feeling of labor pains... 3pm. Labor pains coming close and steady, 7pm. At the hospitals maternity ward, 7:30pm. Fully opened (yes, there), 10pm. Alexandra out and born, 00:35am.

Apparently, as deliveries goes, that was quick! So once she decided she wanted to join us, she did so quickly our girl. :-)

Unfortunately she had an streptococcal infection when born. At first the nurses and Docs didn't know what it was, so they checked both her heart and her lungs, since she get didn't her oxygen out through her body properly. And she had to be taken to a intensive care unit for babies (where usually premature babies end up). Hence she couldn't stay with me, which was quite shocking and sad and depressing. Gladly though, there was nothing wrong with lungs or heart. Just the infection, so she got antibiotics for almost a week (we got a room at the hospital me and Alexandra so we could stay together), and then she was fine... and we could, finally, go home. :-)

Now we've been home since Wednesday. It's been a change, let me tell you. Our whole lives have been turned upside down. And in the center of it all, our girl... our Nerd Jr or Mini-viking. Our Alexandra.

It'll take time to get used to it all, but we are working on it. Together, us three. Well, five. There is the cats to that has been quite skeptical about this little tiny thing that makes so much noise that we brought home. They are slowly getting used to her though, and to have to share their time with us with Alexandra.

So if you miss me, or wonder where the hell I've gone to? Well... There's your answer. :-) I do keep up pretty will with Twitter and Plurk, so feel free to watch me there if you want. I am sorry for missing your entries and all, but right now I just don't have time to keep up. :-P At least not until we're all used to each other and have gotten a good schedule for us all.

Oh, and if you wanna see photos of our little miracle, peting73 created a journal for her. For all of you, and also since all my relatives are living in other towns. :-) (Oh, and he has posted a GORGEOUS photo of her in his own LJ... where she is only two hours old...)

Oh yes, it was tough with her being sick the first thing that happened... but the nurses and Docs at that ward was just... so so wonderful, really helpful and sweet, so it worked out well anyway. :-) It feels really good to be home now though, and try to get somewhat of a routine here. :-)

Oh, it is. It really is... Now I just have to get used to having her here and taking care of her 24/7. Not quite there yet, but we are working on it. :-) petingh73 is going to stay home with us for quite long, so that helps A TON! :-D

Ah, I knew that would be why you hadn't posted. Congratulations! I'm so glad it went okay. And yes, it will take a lot of getting used to, but soon you won't remember a time when you didn't have Alexandra.

She is so cute! Sleep when she sleeps, and take care.

Oh yes, so much to get used to indeed! But we are working on it together all off us here. :-) She is such a cute kid though, not to much trouble at all, I gotta say! Eats well, and in between she sleeps or just lays around in either lap looking around at the world. :-) I guess that will change though... once she gets more mobile... *lol*

And it's funny. Her name is Alexandra. That's actually what my mom was going to name me, so we would've had the same name!

She actually got dads dimples, so I guess she got a little from us both.... ;-) And she is BLONDE! Even though both me and peting73 has quite dark hair. But we were both blonde as kids, so I guess she'll go darker as she grows older to. :-)

Alexandra is a gorgeous, gorgeous name... and when we discussed names in the car once, both me and peting73 got stuck on said name. So we decided that if it is a girl, then Alexandra. And if it is a boy, then Alexander. But a girl it was, and here we are. :-)

Sure, you can send me a gift if you want. :-) Not necessary though, but if you feel like it go right ahead. You got my address right? Or you want me to PM it to you?

HOLY FUCK!!! o.O OMG! You are alive! And well! GEEZES! I've been SO worried about you! *hugs and clings*

And yeah... Yeah, I was. Pregnant, I mean. :-P It was quite the journey to (http://kseenaa.livejournal.com/396379.html) since I suffer from Endometriosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endometriosis). Meaning, I can't have kids the normal way, but had to get help at the hospital. But now she is here! Finally! And well, after her infection. :-) Growing and eating as she should, my little Mini Viking. :-)

congrats! wow, how exciting for you. what a pretty name, although, i do love that you called her nerd jr. :-)

i understand the sad that comes from being separated from baby (my son spent over a month in the NICU) but it sounds like she was in good hands. i'm glad she's home.

good luck with your future babying! (don't forget to take a break every once in a while to spoil yourself too. that's important.)

Yeah, I am so glad they managed to stop that infection within a week, so we didn't have to stay there longer. Not that the staff wasn't awesome (they were), but still you know? I could see other parents there with premature babies that had stayed there long. It was quite obvious. :-/ Poor people. Alexandra might be small and all, but she isn't premature at least. :-)

My breaks are here, at the computer. Doing things that doesn't involve baby-stuff. ;-)

CONGRATULATIONS!! I saw Peting's entry and was so sincerely happy. I'm so sorry that you were stuck in the hospital and terrified for a few days but so relieved and grateful that everything is okay now. She is beautiful and so are you; I am so privileged to be able to share in your happiness.

Update when you can, I will be here, and enjoy every moment! She is a beautiful little girl with wonderful parents and I can't wait to watch her grow up (AND hopefully MEET her!!! eee!!)

Rest is in short supply when you have a little baby that gets hungry every 3-4th hour. ;-) But I do try to catch cat-naps as often as I can. :-)

We are slowly getting used to each other here and it goes really well! :-D So things look good for Alexandra that's for sure. :-)
