Photos all over the place! My belly! Nerd Jr's room! And stuff!

This is going to be a photospam of some proportions, people... So prepare yourself! :-D

I've been asked several times for photos of my belly... and of Nerd Jr's room. So that's what I'll be sharing. :-D I just took some photos today, actually, after I'd finished off preparing various frostings for the cupcakes and the macarons tomorrow. :-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit should be proud. She made the cupcakes and macarons for me, and I've made the frostings and fillings. :-) I also made a huge spong-cake that I'll pour glaze over tomorrow. :-) I'll try to remember to take photos of the huge table filled with sweets tomorrow! :-D

ANYHOW!

Here's the little photo-spam of today.

Before we start with Nerd Jr, here's an older photo... taken this winter or early this spring when it was still cold as fuck. Me and Verdandi. Just to prove how insane my beloved cat is. X-D She was extremly cuddly and purring all over the place then, and when she's in that mood? You can pretty much do whatever you want with her. :-D

I love my cats. Seriously.

And they've been really good with my belly since I got pregnant to! They used to love walking over it when I layed down or laying on it and such, but since getting pregnant I've pushed them off... and they've gotten the message, now laying next to it purring the house down. It makes my belly vibrate, so I bet Nerd Jr will recognize the purring when getting out!

So here's my belly then. Taken just... two or three days ago, I believe? Quite big, but not THAT big. You wouldn't be able to tell that there's only 3 weeks or so until delivery, could you? :-)

(Click for bigger!)

[livejournal.com profile] peting73 has been taking photos of my belly since we found out I was pregnant, either every week or every other week. :-) Don't know what he'll do with all them photos, but he wanted progress photos! It took a LONG TIME before one could even tell I was pregnant, let me tell you. At first it was just my hips that changed position, making them even wider (and I had wide hips to start with!) and giving me a huge ass (which I also had to start with!). Good thing [livejournal.com profile] peting has a thing for said body-part... *cough*

So that's what I am looking like right now. :-) Onwards to Nerd Jr's room!

The room we transformed to Nerd Jr's room was previously our comp-room. Where we had our computers, a sofa bed and various nerdy stuff. It hadn't been repainted or anything since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had moved in there, and that was a long, long time ago. For some reason he'd felt it a good idea to make the walls a dark blue. :-P And the floor had a plastic mat on it, which had cracked and broken here and there. It wasn't very pretty. After we'd emptied the room, it looked like this:

(Click for bigger!)

Of course our cats helped! Or tried to...

After we'd picked out our wallpapers though, that was quite light in colour, we figured it was a good idea to put a white coat of paint on the walls, so the dark blue wouldn't shine through. Plus the ceiling needed a coat of paint as well. So after [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had done that, the room looked like this! And no, no cats this time. We didn't want our black beauties turning white... or spreading the paint all over the apartment. *lol*

(Click for bigger!)

The weekend after that, we got our oldest and most broken clothing on... and got our hands dirty (not to mention sticky!) with putting up wallpapers! This is the second time we've done this, and we sure worked greatly as a team! :-D It even went faster then we'd thought! So, when we were done and had put the new lamp up... the room looked like this. :-) Nice, eh?

(Click for bigger!)

A close up of the wallpaper. :-) It has patterns and names from seriously old, old swedish maps. Cool, eh? :-D

(Click for bigger!)

And a close up off the lamp! It was dirt cheap in a discount shop... but damn, if we didn't fall in love with it!

(Click for bigger!)

Since the old plastic (and quite ugly) floors were cracked and broken, we had to put in new floors to. [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had put in floors with a simple techinic before, so he knew what kind to buy. And we agreed on the pattern together. :-) I think it looks really damn nice, wouldn't you say so?

(Click for bigger!)

Of course, after you've put in new floors and put in new wallpapers... you need new splines (I think that is the word in english...). White, of course, since it fitted the floors and the wallpapers the best. :-)

(Click for bigger!)

Since then, when we finished it off, we've just filled the room with stuff! Who knew a little kid would need so much stuff, eh? *lol* First two furnitures we put in there was the sofa bed and the big bookshelf... that we've partly transformed so it can be used for storage to. :-) Long live IKEA and their stuff, is all I am saying!

(Click for bigger!)

As you can see, there is quite a lot of stuff in that shelf now! :-D Not all of the storage places are filled, but there are a little bit of stuff here and there. The storage boxes in the bottom are saved for toys. I guess that will be enough only so long. *lol* We've tried to keep all colours unisex, since neither me nor [livejournal.com profile] peting73 likes it when all stuff are gender based, you know? So instead we bring ALL the colours! X-D I mean, why the hell not, right?

This combined changing table and chest of drawers I bought from my brother (for nearly nothing). The little Winnie the Pooh on it was painted by his wife. Cute, eh? And perfect, since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 LOVES everything that has to do with Winnie the Pooh! :-D

There's a baby-chair/thing/whatever you wanna call it on that changing table to, that I bought the other day (black, of course) and a nursing pillow that'll make it easier when you are breastfeeding, and there's a car seat for the little one on the floor. :-) Used by two kids before our Nerd Jr, but in perfect condition (it's been checked), and cost is a third or less from what a new one would have cost us.

(Click for bigger!)

My brother had a matching chest of drawers to! So we got that as well from him, just for the hell of it. *lol* Pretty, eh? And yes, that's my SIL that's been there putting Winnie the Pooh on it. :-) The rocking cradle though, was built for me when I was a baby by my maternal grandfather as a gift. :-) He loved working in wood. Originally it was just wooden coloured, but when my brothers first kid was to be born, my SIL asked mom if she could paint it, and of course she could! So she put Winnie the Pooh on the rocking cradle to! :-D I think it looks adorable! Nerd Jr will be the fifth baby sleeping in it. First me, then my brother, then my brothers daughter, then my brothers son... and now Nerd Jr. :-) Well, when ever she/he wants to show up. ;-) The rocking cradle will be moved to stand by my side of the bed for the first months after birth though, for ease (breastfeeding) and comfort for Nerd Jr. :-)

(Click for bigger!)

Looks quite nice, eh? *grin*

Right, so for the last photo we have the pram that I also bought from my brother. To be honest though, it wasn't that much money he wanted for the whole thing, so we pretty much got everything for peanuts. Anyway, it is quite the steady pram, since they live on the countryside and took walks in the woods a lot. Here, in the city though I could probably use it as a tank when getting on the buss! X-D Move or I'll run you over! *grin* It is in GREAT condition though, since they've taken great care with it. Only problem is, our car is a bit small, but we think we've found a solution for that to. :-) (Moving/rearranging half the backseat.)

We've also bought a highchair from IKEA. Yeah, yeah... won't use it for a long, long time yet, but it is good to have it here already, so we don't have to stress about it later on, so to speak. At least that's how we thought about it. And we thought the blue colour was the prettiest. :-)

(Click for bigger!)

So now you've all seen our preparations and the room and my belly and all the stuff. :-) I know we've done a lot of preparations, but to be honest... it has been over such a long time, we haven't really thought about it. :-) We started to plan the room when we found out that the IVF worked and I was, in fact, pregnant. Then after a few months (early spring I think) we fixed the room up. And then we've just filled it with stuff a little at a time since. :-) Of course, mom and [livejournal.com profile] peting73s mom has brought a lot of stuff to (mostly clothing), so we aren't the only guilty ones of filling the room up! *lol* I think Nerd Jr will be perfectly fine in that room!

And fun thing is, when [livejournal.com profile] peting73 was a young boy he and his mom used to live right here in this apartment! And Nerd Jr's room? Used to be [livejournal.com profile] peting73s boy bedroom! X-D Life has come full circle... *grin*

Hey, you live in SWEDEN. You will love that pram, and laugh in secret at those with small, "chick" "things" struggling in wet atumn leafs or snow, or even worse, sand. It's a reason Brio and Emmaljunga dose prams like they do ;)

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha ha ha! :-D Good point there! I've been thinking the same thing, actually. :-) I should do great during the autumn and winter. :-) And it IS actually an Emmaljunga one! :-D Good eye there. ;-)

I'm going to buy a plane ticket. I'm going to fly over the Atlantic. I'm going to sneak into Sweden. And I am going to STEAL THAT LAMP.

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
X-D It is quite awesome, isn't it? *grins* They still have it, I think... If you really, REALLY want it...? ;-)

[identity profile] steinsgrrl.livejournal.com 2012-07-21 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh wow, you look like you're all set! I really like what you did with the baby's room. And no, you don't look as pregnant as you are!

(Didn't you say you guys didn't want to know if it was a boy or girl? 'Cause I'm predicting girl. ;)

I LOVE this post. love love love. you look beautiful and you are glowing. and i love what you've done with nerd jr's room!! that wallpaper is amazing, and so is the lamp. i love the lamp just as much as you do- and as for putting ALL the colors in the room- well how could i ever disagree with that?! :) love all the stuff you've gotten from your family. somehow, little things like that tie generations together. and it all makes for the beginning of such a beautiful journey. <3 so excited to be here and a part of it.

also- your maternal grandfather liked working in wood? didn't your father like working in wood too?

[identity profile] melluransa.livejournal.com 2012-07-22 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I love the decorating! Everything looks good, but it's you who looks the best. <3 I'm excited for you!

The Winnie the Pooh is so cute~

Oh, wow, I love everything about the baby's room! It's just adorable! The wallpaper and floor look beautiful, and you can never go wrong with Winnie the Pooh. The rocking cradle is amazing, and it's awesome to have that much family history for it. How lovely!

And you look so good! <3 Especially with only three weeks to go! <3

On Friday night, I dreamed that I was coming to visit you, but when the plane landed I got a call that you had already delivered Nerd Jr. and were getting ready to go home from the hospital. So, I met you and hubby at your apartment where you were waiting with the most gorgeous little baby in the world! <3 Then all these people were coming over to bring you food and see the baby, and there were people there I knew growing up (crazy, huh?) but it was very much fun and we were all celebrating you and Nerd Jr.! Apparently you guys have been on my mind a lot lately! xD Hope that things in real life go just as smoothly as they did in my dream! <3<3<3

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2012-07-25 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. :-) My maternal grandfather loved working in wood on his free time. That and painting animals. He was a bit artistic, in fact. :-) Despite the fact he was colour blind. I have quite the pile of artwork he did laying around here. We got a pile each all us five grandkids when he died. :-) And I have a wooden gorgeous chest he made to!

My dad though, as I wrote on Zachs post about makers, he loved working with his hands and body. Period. It didn't matter what you put in his hands, he could work with it. Got a broken doll? A broken car? A broken house? A pair of broken glasses? A broken book? It didn't matter. He could fix it. Gawd knows how, but he could. And he loved poking around with stuff like that. If my dad sat still for more then 30mins he got all restless and just HAD to get up, get out and start working with something, or he'd go nuts. :-) Just the way he worked. He never understood the thing with books or study though. Used to tell me that it was a waste of time reading books. :-P But that was his view of the matter. If you didn't work with your body, you were wasting your time. :-)

I KNOW! Apparently according to Docs and midwifes/nurses it is because Nerd Jr has made herself/himself all comfy further in my body. *lol* Oh well, as long as she/he grows as she/he should, all is good, I say. :-)

And no, we have no idea if it is a girl or a boy. :-) That will be a surprise the day Nerd Jr decides to come out. :-D

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2012-07-25 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww... Thanx. :-) That is so sweet of you to say! :-D

And yeah! It is a lucky thing that my SIL put Winnie the Pooh on everything, since [livejournal.com profile] peting73 is such a huge Winnie the Pooh fan. :-D

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2012-07-25 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Winnie the Pooh is always awesome, this is true! :-D Especially if you ask [livejournal.com profile] peting73. ;-) I do so very much love that rocking cradle, yeah... I am very happy we managed to get it here for Nerd Jr, since pretty much all kids have slept in it. :-) My maternal grandfather sure did a good job on it to, since it is in great condition! :-D

Wow! o.O What a detailed dream! Sounds like a lovely future you dreamed up for us, I gotta say! *lol* I to hope it goes smoothly. :-) According to Docs and midwifes/nurses it shouldn't be a problem at all for me to give birth naturally, despite all the surgery I've gone through thanx to my Endometriosis, so I feel quite positive about it all, really! Nervous, yes... but positive to! :-D
