Work, pimping and meme...

So been on my own at the library today.... and it is at times like these it really shows how loved my colleague / boss is... I mean, the phone has called more or less all day with people asking for her, or wanting her to do something or another... Even during the 30 mins I had a group of kids in the library to teach them how to find there way in the library I had people both calling on the phone and knocking on the door to be let in... and that was after opening hours when the library was closed! o.O Geez!

Yes, I know she usually lets people in and helps people when the library is closed as well. I mean, it IS a school library and should be available for the school to use, so we try to accommodate them as much as we can. I do this to. But when I have a group of kids there, and I try to be a pedagogue (which I am sooo not) and teach them stuff, can you PLEASE give me a break then at least? *sigh*

Apart from that, it has been a slow day. During the first weeks I have been working there, I have been to effective, it seems... I am running out of things to do. :-P I am not sure this is good OR bad. *laugh* I was even told of the big boss that I should take it a bit easy and all, so I am not sure how to interpret that. Apparently we might get a trainee here soon from a company that helps long term unemployed people find there way back to work again... o.O Wait, what? I started out as a trainee here, so excuse me if I feel a bit defensive... I kinda wanna keep my place here even after February... Nothing is safe yet, so I am not sure how I feel about this yet. Remains to be seen, I suppose.

Tomorrow is a Thursday... and I'll be all on my own. All day. As well as during those two hours when usually all hell breaks out in the library. Woe izt me. We'll see if I survive. :-P

sueworld2003 pimped this some time ago, and I am bound to agree. This is made of win! Four friends cosplaying The Fanged Four - Darla, Angelus/Angel, Drusilla and Spike... And apparently they are slashfans to both femme-slash and regular slash. Nothing risky, but they are hinting at it so very, very nicely it is just... awesome. And the photos look very professional as well not to mention they look very much as there character! I am especially impressed with the woman doing Darla. She really looks like her! And the woman/man who does Spike. I... think it is a woman, but damn if it isn't a butch one if so! And she/he sure as hell got them infamous cheekbones! REALLY awesome! You NEED to check out this! And do give them some credit in comments if you do! They deserve it!

Well... I did enjoy the books a great deal, and I do think the movies are brilliant as well. I rewatch the movies now and then and I have re-read the books. But I am not reading fanfic or are involved in any fandom. I just... enjoy them anyway. :-)

No idea what Mean Girls is. (And I am not going to cheat with Wikipedia.)

I have a younger brother that I do mention here and there in this LJ. He is quite awesome. He got an education to become a professional farmworker. And he is good at it. A week or so after he left school he got employed right away. He still works at that big farm and likes it. He is married to a wonderful woman, same age as him and they have two wonderful kids together. A great family. Unlike me, who enjoys living in the city, my brother is not comfortable in the city, and lives in the middle of nowhere.
Clearly we are not very much alike. When we grew up we fought like hell. He even managed to hit me so hard over my hand that I lost all m nails on my right hand once... Yeah, we fought a lot, but playfully and violently. My father was enjoyed rough housing with us when he was playing with us. So we both had a lot of tough love growing up and that I think have shape us. We're still very much like that when we meet, but we both support each other whole heartedly to. Right now we are a unified front to try and help mom with her house and to help her lose weight. :-) Different we might be, my brother and I, but strong together.
