Being the villain...

Why, oh why am I so good at playing the villain? First character I roleplayed online was... Drusilla. And if that ain't an evil character, I don't know what is.... In the vampire-LARP I am playing a psychotic mentally insane vampire who enjoys torturing small kids... She even has a special room for it in her home. And now, in my latest roleplaying game we needed a bad guy. Guess who ended up playing him, hmm? A sleezy guy with lots of power using said power to get who he wants in bed... Not a nice guy molesting others because he can and no one dares saying no to him in fear of losing there jobs. :-P And I am good at playing him! My co-player is squeeing and telling me I am doing a great and grand job.

And I didn't even figure him out myself. She did. And then I took that damn man up and ran with him. Damn it, Lu! I blame you! And still I enjoy playing characters like that.... *head-desk*

ANYWAY!

Today it has been weird day, weather vise. It has been so damn hot and humid and the air has felt all to heavy around you... It is like summer just came and hit us over the head all at once. Not fun, guys. Not that I mind summer, for sure, but... enough is enough. An hour before I ended work today, a serious thunder storm (compared to Swedish weather) hit. Rain, rain a bit of hail and more rain. And lighting and thunder... The kids in the library got pretty scared. But it all ended well. :-) They ran home in the rain, trying not to get wet. I rode my bike home. I was soaked in no time at all. Been taking it easy since. :-)

All in all a good day. No kids thrown out of the library today. They all behaved and it was really nice working today. :-) Got lots of stuff done the few hours I was there. :-)

I love being the villian of the piece. In RPGs especially. In high school, I played Abigail in The Crucible and that gave me a real taste for badness :-)

I know. It is quite insane, ain't it? Even big profesional actors say it is more fun playing the bad guy, since you can do so much more then, digging deep down for those really interesting feelings. I can only agree with this.

To qoute Morgan Freeman: I was talking to Bob Hoskins when we were making Unleashed together. We were talking about the joy of doing bad guys. And he confirmed exactly what I was thinking. With bad guys you get to let it all out. All those dark places in your psyche? You can let 'em go. When you play good guys, it's kind of boring. It's one note.

I find it interesting when you talk about your LARPs... but I am very curious about one thing... what is LARP, exactly? I know it's Live Action Role Play, but I've never seen it in actuality. :P I would really like to know how you do, in fact, LARP. Is it like putting on a play, but making it up as you go along? Do you use props or something? I'm very curious to know! :)

*grin* Well, yeah... Rose is probably the most twisted of the lot. But this new guy is getting close to her as we speak. Scary thing is, I fear there really are men like him out there... *shiver* Powerful men in big companies using there position to rape and use people and make sure they get away with it. *shakes head*

I wonder what it says about me though, that I am good at pretending to be such evil characters? *ponders*
