Wedding-report...

Alright. Lets see if I can write a sorta coherent wedding-report here...

Thursday consisted off... traveling. :-P The wedding was being held where M grew up, so some traveling had to be done. It just took about 9 ½ hours, what with four breaks on the way. Damn boring, but what do you do, right? Arriving we got food from M's mom (who was very very nice) and a corner to sleep in on an air-mattress.

Friday was... Interesting. And slightly exhausting. :-P Me and M hasn't always gotten along, Peting and Kiltfan are the best of friends. I do always make an effort to get along with M, but when she is stressed up about something, it ain't easy. Now... she was slightly stressed up about her wedding. I can understand that. It just made the day much, much longer. I concentrated on taking care of Kiltfan and M's daughter. Not hard, actually, since that kid is one of the sweetest kids I have meet. I survived the day and all the last minute shopping. During the afternoon/evening we fixed up the celebration premises. The dinner-table, decorations and all that stuff while the boys finished off all the cooking for the wedding-dinner. Also, M's mom brought food. A reoccurring theme, since when we, and some early guests got ready to leave the celebration premises, she invited everyone home to her home to have a late night dinner to. And some drinks. That turned into more drinks. And the night got long. At around 11pm or 11.30pm the last of the guests left, and I thought I could go to bed. Not so. Kiltfan and M wanted to go through the planning of the wedding again. In the middle of the night. Something they had gone through with us again and again throughout the day. *sigh* I was, at this point, very tired and very snappy, so gladly it went by quickly and I could go collapse.

Saturday was the big day. D-day. And... It went without a hitch. Well sorta. M, the bride, had a slight hysterical fit when some small handbags that her mother had sewn had apparently been taken to the celebration premises and where almost lost. Problem solved though, and after some fixings of the bride and groom (me helping M's mom fixing up the bride and Peting helping Kiltfan), the bride and groom went off to church beforehand to have pretty photo's taken. Then we left, bringing with us a program for the church and the rice. Can't have a wedding without the traditional rice-throwing when the bride and groom exits the church, can we? It was a very pretty wedding, and it was quite clear that both M and Kiltfan love each other very very much. There daughter, of course, stole some of the attention from them... but everyone knew she would. *grin*

The happy couple being showered with rice... as tradition demands... M later told me she had a ton of rice in her bra... My aim has improved... SUCCESS! *laugh* (Click for bigger.)

M was in an excellent mood this day, and I had quite fun talking to her during the rest of the evening. The dinner went by without a hitch to, actually. Only problem with it was that there were so many drinks to serve. Kiltfan is a bartender and loves to pick out different drinks to different foods... Meaning the drink-list was quite long. White wine, both with and without alcohol for the first course and beer both with and without alcohol plus soda for the kids. Second course, no drinks (yay!). Third course, red wine with and without alcohol, another kind of beer, with and without alcohol and soda for the kids. Forth course, dessert, avec a liqueur with and without alcohol and soda for the kids. So the biggest problem during the dinner was the drink-list. But we solved it, me Peting and our darling Charlie, also an old student that used to be active in the student union pub.

Not to mention that we were serving staff, we were also Toast-master and Toast-madame during the dinner me and Peting. But, to be honest, it wasn't a big deal. It was easier to serve and toast this wedding-dinner than it was to toast a student-dinner.... And... I have about 5-7 years experience toasting dinners and working at student union dinners... It went crazy smoothly. And the bride and groom told us again and again during the dinner how grateful they were that they had us there, since they knew they could trust us to make sure it went smoothly. :-)

And... when the dinner was over, the bride and groom had filled a fridge with alcoholc and none-alcoholic drinks, so everyone just grabbed in and the evening was filled with gifts, stories and lots of talking. Was lots off fun!

A less silly Toast-couple... Damn, he is looking HOT in that suit, my man! I'll force Peting to use it more often, I tell you! The scarf I use with that suit there is the one [livejournal.com profile] jan_irving made me when she released her first book. :-D She hand-coloured it herself. :-) (click for bigger)

Sunday we helped clean out the celebration premises. And since we were about 8 people working on that, it went by quite quickly, let me tell you. Me and Peting took care of the kitchen, mostly, and since said kitchen looked very much like one of the kitchens at the student union pub (the small one) we felt very much at home. It went quickly to say the least.

When the bride and groom arrived at around noon it was all done. They were slightly shocked and hugged us all. Since a lot of people had a long trip to do, most left, leaving us the last once.

Again, Kiltfan and M told us how very grateful they were for all the job we did. Me, I got a bit embarrassed by it all, since I didn't feel like I had done that much. And they told us that they had a gift for us since they thought we deserved it. o.O Apparently we are to get said gift this week. Hmm... I wonder if I should be worried? It is Kiltfan, after all...

Hmm, I´m getting flashbacks from M and P´s wedding, back in 2000. Bridezilla on speed, let me tell you!

I´m glad it went fine in the end. And you look amazing in your suits, both of you!I see why you think Peting should wear his more often... *wink*

Yeah, bridezilla on speed does describe how M acted quite well, actually. :-P No fun, no. :-P But she was very grateful in the end, so I guess it all ended well, yeah? :-)

Oh yeah. Peting's suit is not going to collect dust, let me tell you... *cough*

I never thought I'd ever use the word "adorable" to describe Kiltfan, but they are an adorable couple, so... :-D

I'm glad it all went well. And you look smokin' hot in those suits, both of you!

Ha ha ha ha! I know! They looked so damn happy in the church... And so cute to! But yeah... Cute and Kiltfan in the same sentence just don't feel right, does it? ;-D Unless it is about his daughter, because she is one cute kid!

i LOVE that scarf!

it sounds like the wedding went exactly how you thought it would, though.

It is quite awesome, ain't it? :-D I am so happy [livejournal.com profile] jan_irving made it for me. It gave just enough splash of colour for the suit. :-D

And yeah. It did. Well, sorta... since I'd say it went a bit more smoothly on D-day that I thought it would, so that was good. The rest? Well, about how I thought, yeah... *cough* :-P

Hade jätte-skoj! Så nu har jag lärt mig att jag även kan toasta seriösa tillställningar som bröllops-middager. Well, well... :-D
