This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

Been shopping fabric with [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit today. So, now I have all the fabric needed for my pirate coat. It will be awesome, I am sure off it. With [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbits help at least. I loved sewing once, but... not anymore. I just don't like it at all. With her encouragement it works out though. :-) She posted some pictures off our work-in-progress right HERE, if you wanna see.

Now I have just amused myself with posting a really yummy recipe in my community [livejournal.com profile] lowcarbhighfat. It was for the awesome dish I tried yesterday, lowcarb moussaka! :-D Seriuosly awesome! So tasty! You can find it HERE if you wanna try it to. ;-)

Now I am going to play some World of Warcraft while waiting for [livejournal.com profile] peting73 to come home. :-)

Ooh, fun! I used that same pattern for my coat (here, in progress (http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/0FiVENiPag-xQIm1wq5Vrw?authkey=Gv1sRgCO2a38u5x7H7nQE&feat=directlink)), more or less. I added the modern-looking collar. To use for everyday wear, you might want to narrow the cuffs a little, especially if you're going for winter wear. The wide cuffs are part of what makes the look, but a piratey friend of mine has narrower cuffs that still look awesome, and are warmer.

Oh, I am making it a summer coat. :-) All linen. ;-) [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit is going to make hers in wool though, for winter use. So, no collar on mine. I kinda like it without, actually. And, of course, I have made the cuffs a bit smaller. ;-) They are kinda... huge in the original.

They are, and I didn't really have a problem with that at first, but now it's a little annoying, so I may actually alter the cuffs at some point. Also need to add real pockets, instead of just the fake-pocket flaps. :-) It's a perpetual work in progress, but it's wearable now, and warm and cozy. :-)

Way ahead of you on the real pockets thing though. [livejournal.com profile] pktaxwench has shown us how to do it in a very nice post. So we think we can fix it so they will work.

Thanks! I can't wait to see what you two come up with! I'm thinking about doing another one in a light fabric for summer wear too.

We´ll see if we can´t change that, my dear... *evil chuckle*
