Or, if you are english speaking: Let the right one in. I really and highly suggest anyone and everyone to watch this, no matter what language you speak. There are subtexts for that, after all.

Awesome movie. So different from what one is used to when it comes to vampire movies or movies in general. Slow paced with splaces of violence and a constant feeling of strangeness. And seeing a mobbed pale kid kicking back, just gave me a huge smile. :-) I recognized myself alot in him to, I must say, since I was mobbed to when I was a child. Both young kids who played the leads did such a great job. Of course some of the story from the book was missing, but that was expected, at least to me, since the book is.... somewhat special to. :-) But they did manage to keep the feeling from the book, which is quite impressive, I must say.

See it if you can, for a different movie-experience. It is very VERY worth it. :-) I heard Hollywood is making a remake off it. Don't watch that one. Watch this, the original. Or even better, read the book. Special that one to. *nods*

Actually I´m curious what an American director might do with this. The storyline will be moved to the US, of course, but then?

That it is, very true. :-) You got a good point there. It might get intresting being done in english to. But honestly. I am kind off afraid it will be you know... americanised... or hollywoodised... in a bad way. Wich would destroy the whole story. :-P Hopefully that won't happen though.

No doubt it will be hollywoodized, the question is how much.

I had hoped that some independent-director would do it, but I read somewhere that the director is the one who made Cloverfield. I haven´t seen that movie, but I know it´s about a big scary monster and pretty bad. I guess this guy probably will keep the gory scene with Håkan in the basement...

Oh, good lord... Well, if they want that gory scene (and damn, thats gory!) they'll have to add the pedophilia to... Since that is the reason Håkan does what he does. As you say, it will be damn interesting to see what they'll do with it.

Me hates that Hollywood always wanna do remakes of movies that are already good from the start. Is it really that hard for some to understand that a movie from elsewhere in a different language is good as it is? DX

But oh... wanna see Låt den rätte komma in. Read the book back in december -05 when I was admitted to Lillhagen. Smart, ne? xD

I agree. It is to bad that Hollywood feels to need to remake movies all the time. But I am also curious to see how they are going to deal with some of the stuff in the book. Or if they are going to skip it to, just like in the swedish movie. I do recommend you go see it. :-) It is a wonderfully made movie. One of the best swedish ones in ages. :-)
