Cambridge Diet: Day 15. Plus more...
I would say things are going well. *grin*
spicehobbit are calling us the Triumphant Trio!!! She is not far off. Even though I haven't lost as much weight as Peting has, I am still very proud at my progress. The funny thing is, that me, who have always loved candy, chocolates, cakes, cookies etc... I have no longing for any of it. None at all. And that surprises me quite a great deal. I am very much proud of us all three. When this is all done, me and Peting are going to turn our feeding-habits up-side-down. We are not going to eat any (or extremely little) carbohydrate, and lots of natural fat. If you didn't know it, carbohydrate turns into suger when you eat it. It is actually suger in another form. Starting of the insulin in your body, and thats... what makes you fat. Not the fat that you eat. I had no idea about this and it has been a real eye-opening experience to read all the political and economical forces that has made us eat the way we eat today. I am going to share some links on this. I hope the few people who are reading my LJ are intelligent enough to figure things out them selfs...
Lets start with the links in swedish:
Doktor Annika Dahlqvist Blogg - And yes, she is a true medical doctor. Read her books to. They are well worth reading.
Kostdoktorn - A colleuge to Doktor Dahlquist. Also, VERY interesting to read. I highly recommend him.
Fettskrämdbloggen - About a man eating LowCarbHighFat. And telling his readers good tips and ideas.
Fetsmart - Keeps an eye on what the media says about food... and if there is truth in it.
Low-Carb-bloggen - Yet another man that writes about his experiences with LowCarbHighFat food.
Matfrisk-bloggen - Keeps a discussion, and also checks out media. And tells about his own experiences.
Toxiska Epistlar - Checks out media and the politics behind it all.
Kolhydrater i fokus - A discussion-community where one can discuss LowCarbHighFat diet and everything around it.
Some links in english
Ask Dr Vernon - She is into the Atkins-diet that is a bit more extreme then LowCarbHighFat. Still. Interesting reading...
Livin' la Vida LowCarb - This guy is really funny, and got alot of interesting things to say still about carbohydrate and how it effects your food.
Weight of the Evidence - A lovely lady with alot of interesting to say. An everyday woman telling her experiences with LowCarb.
Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution - A diabetes doctor showing how dangerous it is to eat so much carbohydrates for people with diabetes as we do today.
Dr Mercola - A doc's website about health and food and how they work together. You have to digg around a bit here for the good stuff...
And now you think we have gone nuts, me and Peting? Yes? No? Well. We have done our research pretty well. Not on the net. In fact, the net was the last place we started to digg around on. Books. We have read lots, and lots of books. And Petings mom, who has type 2 diabetes, eats LowCarbHighFat. She is losing weight like there is no tomorrow. Her blood values etc has never been better. Her doctors are stunned. There is something to this. And I am going to find out what.

I tried the vanilla shake today. Heavenly!!! Next time I´m gonna add some cinnamon to it and see if it´s as yummy as the advisor said. I know what you mean, not longing for candy and cookies. I feel the same. I mean, I can see a cookie and think "it would be nice to eat that" but not in the must-have-cookie-NOW sense. ;-) I´m amazed.
Hmm, still not sure what to think about this lowcarbhighfat food, but I´m gonna check out those links.
Oh, what did you think about The Dark Knight? Didn´t Heath Ledger look just smashing in a nurse uniform?! *smirk*

I know. It all sounds so weird, don't it? It is all about the insulin we have in the body, it would seem. Suger and carbohydrates sets the insulin in the body off. Insulin tells body to store all fat it can get. You get fat. You eat natural fat, it don't effect the insulin at all. It is the suger (including fructose) and carbohydrates that does that. And I am not talking vegetable oils now... :-P So, lots and lots of meat will be on the menue here, and also natural fats. :-P I am going on the same diet Petings mom is. :-P And she seems to be doing fine. MORE then fine, even. We got some books on it here, if you wanna borrow them? They are VERY good
