Mom came over yesterday for a visit as did
peting73's cousin. :-) As you might remember, his cousin has a slight mental handicap, so she lives in a residence really close to us, and she loves to visit and loves when we visit her. :-) So I'd made plans with her to come over, and she did yesterday. Took the chance to invite mom over to!
peting73's cousin really likes my mom and she likes her, so it was brilliant having both here for dinner. :-) Simple dinner, but still a blast! (We made taco-pie with just some fresh salad.)
Mom also brought a ton of stuff for the little one.
Yeah, the room we renovated? That I've written about? Well. That is the little ones room that we've fixed up. We used to use it as a computer room, but now it is little ones. It looks really great! All photos on
peting73s camera though, and it is ONE complicated one, so I'll have to poke him to get them photos out. :-P
Anyhow! We've bought stuff for the little one from my brother, since his kids don't need baby stuff anymore. They are to old for it. (5 + 3 years old.) So, we've bought their baby stroller, changing table, a small dresser and a high chair (that you hang on the table). Lots of stuff for quite cheap!
We'd already gotten the baby stroller here (that the cats quickly took as their new bed, damn them!), and then yesterday mom came over with the rest, since her car is much MUCH bigger. Plus there was the chest and the rocking cradle that my maternal grandpa did once, that mom wanted us to have. And well... she loves to come visit when she can. :-) So basically we used her as a mover. X-D Good thing she didn't mind.
She stayed the night too, which was awesome! And today
spicehobbit came over as well, just to say HI to mom! I mean, me and
spicehobbit have been best friends for 21-22 years, and mom has known her that long as well, so it was a blast really! Plus
spicehobbit hadn't seen mom since her gastric bypass, so it was sorta a shock! She started that journey at almost 130 kilos (287 lbs). Now she is down to 77 kilos (170 lbs). Half my mom is gone! o.O Of course, a lot of extra skin hangs off of her, and she does have regular appointments still, but yeah... She is slowing down. Not losing weight quite as quick any longer. But she is so so much more healthy and happy and all... it is a joy to see! :-D
spicehobbit commented on that to, and there was lots of hugs going around here. :-)
So that's pretty much what I've done yesterday and today. Made sure all the furniture for the little one is in place, and hanging out with mom. :-) It's been BRILLIANT! :-D She loves crime-shows and documentary shows, so we've been watching lots of that. And talking. And drinking coffee/tea.
I really get along so so much better with mom now as an adult then what I did as a teen. We could have fights that nearly lifted the roof of my childhood home. Nothing like that these days. Sure, discussions and disagreements, but no fights. :-) I am so grateful for that. :-)
Also, and lastly... For all of you who are freaking out about the change to LJ Scrapbook?
Read this post that
thilia made, who has ACTUALLY made the switchover. So instead of listening to a poorly translated post, maybe listen to someone that actually USE the new Scrapbook?

I've asked to make the transfer in advance for my Scrapbook to. And I have a permanent account on my LJ and hence have 10GB on my Scrapbook currently. I'll report back how much I have when the transfer is done, since everyone has their panties in a twist since they think the'll lose everything over 2GB. I'll find out soon enough, won't I? *nods*
