Oh hum... We got a busy weekend ahead of us. Well, not so much tomorrow, at least not for me.
peting73 on the other hand is invited to a friend of his for drinks food and cool guy-talk. I'll pass. ;-) And on Saturday, well... that's LARP-day. And on Sunday my brothers daughter celebrates her 5th birthday, so we are first going to visit mom and then on the afternoon visit my brother and his family. I haven't seen them since Christmas, only talked on the phone, so that is going to be great really! :-D
Only problem with it all? Is that we have gotten half-way with re-doing our one room that we are working on, and now we won't be able to finish that until next weekend. Blah, blah. :-P It's not like I can put up wallpapers by myself!
We'll pick up the wallpapers that we ordered tomorrow, but yeah. The apartment looks like shit with stuff everywhere, but it'll have to be like that for yet another week. We'll put up the wallpapers, redo the floors AND paint the doorframe next weekend. The roof is already painted, so... There is that at least.
Was at a library yesterday on a free lecture/discussion about comics/graphic novels. It was really damn interesting, I gotta say. Not THAT many there. We were maybe 10 people in total that listened to one of the librarians there that also translated comics/graphic novels from France and Belgium. Some seriously EPIC comics/graphic novels comes from those countries let me tell you... Tintin, Lucky Luke and Asterix is just the tip of the iceberg. They had also invited a guy that runs his own publishing company talking about how hard it is to get good quailty comics/graphic novels out in Sweden since they have such a bad rep here. A good comic/graphic novel only runs around 1000 examples per edition here in Sweden. To be compared with the same comic/graphic novel that runs in edition of 200 000 examples in Franc/Belgium. Or to compare with Japan where 6 MILION comics are released... EVERY WEEK!!! o.O
In other words, when it comes to comics/graphic novels... Sweden sucks donkey balls. :-P
Since I got so involved in the discussions there yesterday I got home really late and missed Game of Thrones episode 4. OH NOES! I've gotten really invested in that series. My gosh... It is so well done and the actors are so, so good... The characters really interesting and just... It is such a brilliant series. Gladly I could watch the series online in HQ on the channels website right away, so all was good. :-) Swedish television also airs a discussion-program right after the episode that you can also watch online on the channels website. It is really interesting where they take up various points in the show for discussion. It is only 15mins long, but they sure manage to get a lot of cool points across. :-) Tyrion Lannister and Khal Drogo continues to be my favorites. :-) Even if one didn't get to see much of either yesterday. Except the Khal's wife Daenerys Targaryen who I finally got to see get her bitch on and putting her creepy brother in place... THANK YOU! That just took longer then necessary. I like the character development of that girl, seriously. She is slowly growing on me. :-) As does Bran the poor boy...
Me reading in swedish wasn't as popular as I thought, apparently. :-P But those that listened did like it if your comments are to go by. :-) Thanx guys! Apparently Swedish sounds cute and cool... Who knew? *lol* Anyway. Since I was reading from Ronia The Robbers Daughter, I got inspired and went on YouTube to see what I could find about the movie, clips and such. Especially from the songs, since I ADORE the music in that old movie.
Here are the music and songs from the movie:
( Singing robbers... )
Of course they are singing in Swedish.... It IS a swedish movie. *lol* :-D So if you think I sounded cool just reading, watch this thing. :-D The music is really, REALLY awesome... Take my word for it. And they don't even use words all the time! Just nonsens-words!
Talking about the part I was reading, Ronia's birth. Here is the beginning of the movie itself, showing off Matt and all his 12 robbers coming home during the day (while wonderful music plays in the background) and then the thunderstorm during which Ronia is born... the harpies... her birth... and Matt showing off his daughter to his robbers... and the lightning that splits Matt's Fort in two!
( Ronias birth... )
This is the first part of the movie, and you can actually watch the ENTIRE movie on YouTube! o.O I had no idea, but you can. This is just part 1 of 12. Sadly there are no subtitles. Which is just a damn shame, if you ask me. :-P *sigh* They've made movies (with live actors) of all Astrid Lindgrens books, I believe. But not all have subtitles and that is just sad. :-/
Gawd, I am just rambling today, aren't I? :-D Right, right... I'll stop while I am ahead. ;-)
