For those who wants to know,
peting73 is healing very well, so no worries on that part. Still coughing, but not in pain. And he says he feels much better to. He'll stay home from work this week, then we'll see. :-) Thank you for all the comments and such on my last post. It made both of us smile.
Been dealing with mom, future mother in law and
spicehobbit that all called today worried about
peting73. It was fun talking to all of them, and they are all happy he is doing so much better. As am I, as you can imagine.
My cuddly man is not supposed to be sick! I am the sickly one in this relationship... At least I usually am. :-P
Been cheating with a chocolaty mudcake today, because we felt like we needed it. So there. :-P
Especially since things have been weird at the school library where I work this week as well. You know, since it wasn't enough with
peting73 being sick.... *smirk*
Anyway, Monday when I was getting ready to go visit
peting73 at the hospital and go home, just logging out... the fire-alarm at the school went off... Walking out, I reported that I was going home, so they wouldn't start looking for me in the buildings or anything... Two firetrucks, a smaller rescue department-car and a police car came rushing within minutes... (I am always impressed by these people, how quick they are.) Tuesday I found out it was a false alarm, so that was good.
Fast forward to today.
Started with a great group of kids that I tipped about books that you usually miss in the bookshelfs. They were great kids, listening to what I said, and asked good questions to. They were just around 8 years old. :-) So that was great! Then it was hella busy when we opened the library for the day, and that kept up for 1 or 2 hours... Then it all calmed down, and me and my boss / colleague went about our business preparing for groups of kids and cleaning up the library and so on... Until the phone called.
One of the staff asked if it was OK for the bigger kids (12 year olds) to have there class in the library? Was cool, since it was calm and all that.
When we found out the reason why though, not so cool.
Apparently one of the kids had started a fire in one of the restrooms outside there classroom... A teacher managed to put out the fire, but some of the kids had seen it and were a pretty shock up about it. Not to mention the stink of smoke in the rooms that made the other kids worry, and well... it wasn't nice to be in those rooms.
O.o
WTH! And this made both me and my boss / colleague kinda sad. The kid who did the dead (it hadn't been hard to figure out, since his clothes had smelled like smoke), he spends quite a good time in the library. 12 years old, and nearly as tall as me, he tries to act above his age, all cool and shit, but he is always nice and friendly towards us. And he loves books, and to sit and read in the library.
Then he does shit like this. And apparently not the first time either. Troubled home, bad company as friends... *shakes head* A cry for help, anyone?
The staff at the school are doing what they can, of course, and we welcome him to the library with open arms as well. Not to mention they have reported everything to the authorities. I just hope someone is able to help that kid...
*shakes head*
