And yes, what a party it was this Saturday night. :-)
My dear aunt, mom's sis and my second cousin's husband both have there 50th birthday during December so they decided to celebrate it together, making it a 100 year birthday party. Ha ha... *grin*
As some off you that have been around reading here knows, my family and extended family is... huge, slightly crazy and very loving. :-) I wouldn't be surprised if there was almost 100 people at that party. I didn't count. ;-)
All the wonderful people from my aunts side off the family was there, of course. Only a few couldn't make it, two or three. Because off illness. And there were a lot of people there from that side off the family that I hadn't seen in ages. Was awesome! Also, there were quite a lot off people there that I didn't know that well or at all, since the birthday boy had his side off the family there as well.
It all started out with a welcome drink, and a welcome speech from my aunt, the Birthday girl and from the Birthday boy. :-)
Then there was the matter off finding your seat, since there was seating arrangements. :-) And an awesome, awesome dinner was served. YUM! With lovely drinks. Double-yum!
peting73 and me sat at a table with another off my many second cousins and a couple off people from the Birthday boys side off the family. :-) All awesome people. After we were done eating (that took awhile) there was a speech from the significant others off the Birthday girl and the Birthday boy. Lots off awww and giggles and laughs and some tears from the Birthday girl. Very, very cute. :-) Also, the daughter off another off my second cousins is one hell off a singer, so she sang a couple off there favorite songs as well. Wonderful! More tears from the Birthday couple.
When the dinner was over, the bar opened. My cousin, Josse, works as a bartender and she did this evening to, together with her best friend (who also works as a bartender). They did one hell off a job that evening, even though
peting73 tried to order odd and unusual drinks from them to see if he could make them fail. They didn't. ;-) I am kind off proud off you there, girls, for fixing his orders. He can be a bit off a bastard as a guest in a bar sometimes. ;-)
peting73 didn't drink himself though. He had decided to be the designated driver for me and mom. Both me and mom can hold our liqueur quite well, let me tell you, so... It ended up with an almost-competition there.
peting73 found this highly amusing and served us drinks the entire evening, promising mom that we'd carry her to the car, if needs be. X-D Comment by the bar from
peting73: "The old lady on the hill (=mom) wants something strong" Josse: *grins* "Right you are!"
We weren't the worst off though, I can promise you that. The Birthday boy has quite a few brothers and they went totally insane that evening! Lets just say they were drinking.... A LOT! So did the Birthday girl to, but not quite that much. She was crazy giggly the entire evening (when she wasn't teary-eyed) and she was really shaking it on the dance floor at the end off the evening!
A smashing success! And one of the best birthday parties I have been to, let me tell you! :-D
My camera is very crappy, but have a few photos anyway. You can click them all for bigger. :-)
( Crappy photos, ohoy! )
So thats it for today then. :-) Take care, folks!
