Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

This is a really good site in all the ways possible: SOS Live Earth. It has a lot of good ideas, of many I do already to help the planet survive. BUT! There is one thing on it that really shows that the person doing this, really don't have a clue....

GREEN YOUR DIET The international meat industry generates roughly 18% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.

...............

OK. So.... Don't they know any farmers??? For you on my f-list that don't know it, I may not be a farmer myself, but I come from a long line of them, among them my brother, father and uncles. So. The meat-industry is bad for the planet. OK. Guess who the meat-industry is? Farmers. So we should start eating more green-stuff. OK. No problem. I have plenty vegetarian and vegan friends. I don't mind that. It is fine. BUT! Who do you think produces the green-stuff, vegetables and grain and things...? Farmers. And to make sure the green-stuff grows strong and healthy you'll need to fertilize it while it grow. Guess where that comes from? Cows and pigs. Cow-poo and pig-poo. And why do farmers have cows and pigs in the first place? To produce meat. But, you say, there are farmers that don't have animals, that don't produce meat! That is true. There is. But they still need to fertilize the things they grow. So, what do you think those farmers do, eh? They buy cow-poo or pig-poo from other farmers, or they buy artificial fertilizing products, and they destroy the environment much, much more then cow-poo or pig-poo do.

Laugh at the farmers, they don't mind it. They laugh happily at themselfs. Make fun of them if you wish, but for the love of everything, respect them for what they do. No matter what you eat, the food you have on the table has been grown in one way or the other by farmers.
