Stuff....

Talked to mom the other day. I am a bit worried about her. Her legs have been bad for quite some time, and now BOTH her knee's have given up. She confessed she used a cane. *sigh* She is only 55 years old. But she is very very over-weight. I guess that is why her knee's gave up. Damn it! *swears* Her sister and a workmate of hers are now working on losing weight together. She called again yesterday told me she lost 4 kilograms! Might not sound like much, but for my mother it is. I hope she can stick to it this time and continue. Her body needs to lose all that extra stuff, so she'll have strength to play with my brothers kid. *sigh*

On a happier, fan-girly, note I won a mods choice for one of my Bootstrap icons that I made and entered in the Bootstrap-theme challange at [livejournal.com profile] potc_challenge!!! I was so shocked! Was the first icons I had ever made in GIMP, so... they were not half as good as the other icons in the challange. I asked one of the mods why they found it to be good. It just worked for me, she said so... Woot for me! I guess there will be some more icons before I post them, but I will. :-) Promise.

I am still needing a beta to. I have finished off a prologue, so to speak, for my story about my vampire-character that I play in the LARP here. I need someone to beta-read it and catch all the mistakes I probably made in it. Any wiling?

Talking off the vampire-LARP, they are making a few changes to the setting, so now the whole story has moved forward 15 years. Meaning that between the next LARP I play her and the last LARP I played her 15 years has passed for the character. That... is a tough challange for me as a player. What has she concentrated on during these 15 years? Has she grown more evil? More insane? She got new enemies? New friends? So, on saturday we won't play our characters like we normally do. We are going to sit down and talk about what has happened during those 15 years. All 30-40 players that we are... It ain't gonna be easy, let me tell you. Good thing we have our GM's with us to sort out the mess. I am looking forward to it. :-)

On sunday one of Petings friends is coming over to visit and... start working on that corset we have been talking about for years and years... Finally! I hope we can stick to it this time and actually finish it off. :-)

So. Good things and bad things going on. With me in the middle. Like always...

Congrats on the icon! I use GIMP too...it takes a little while to get used to, and icon tutorials don't always translate, but I've been having more success lately. Fun with layers!

And good for your mom for losing weight. It's never easy, but she's already had a success, so that's great news!

He he he... I haven't learned how to use layers yet. :-) I played around with alot of different color-settings and some other pictures that I just pasted on it. So... It wasn't that complicated, but I guess it worked right anyway. :-)

i hope your mom gets better. im all for eating the extra candy and getting cheese on pasta... but in moderation. my mom (i guess shes not fat but i tell her she is) weighs- OR AS SHE PUTS IT, 'SWINGS BETWEEN' 110 and 111 and shes been going to the gym very regularly. im really proud of her. once you get into the routine its almost difficult to fall out of it.. so you should encourage your mom to do it!!

I hope so to. I really, really do. I am so worried about her. I might add, my mom weight twice as much as yours. I am not kidding. :-( According to this conversion-site (http://www.onlineconversion.com/) she weighs about 260lb..... That is so not good. I am no light-weighter either, I might add with my 238lb, so.... Near everyone in my family and among my relatives are over-weight more or less, so I guess it is something I have to live with. I am going to the gym regulary though. My mom won't. She HATES gyms and exercise. Taking walks she does, sometimes, but now when her knee's has given up she don't wanna do that either. It is a problem it is. *sigh*

try to get a group of friends together who will go to the gym with her?

That wouldn't work, I am afraid. She'd feel pushed and not go, because of that. She is... stubborn. To say the least.

I hope your mom gets better! She's a nice lady. And fun. :-)
