This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

Hmm, I have been thinking about my tattoos today. For some odd reason. :-P Or maybe it is just time for me to get another one, I don't know. Once you've done one, you'll always wanna do more. There is some truth in that saying. Thing is. I have two Elfquest-themed tattoo's, since Elfquest is a graphic novel series that has meant much to me and has followed me through many years and many changes in me. I have a viking-themed bracelet tattoo, since history is very important to me. I have a tattoo of Xena's weapons since the TV-show Xena has meant alot to me to, and has followed me through big changes in my life.

But I don't have a Disney tattoo. And that. Is weird. I just thought of it today while reading info about my beloved ducks. Why don't I have a Disney tattoo? I have been subscribed to the Donald Duck comic-magazine since I was 6 years old. I still am today. Every friday or thursday for near enough my entire life I have had a Donald Duck magazine in my mail. I know the complicated family- tree of the ducks by heart. (At least the Don Rosa version... Well, that is based on Carl Barks notes..... and... Oh, I'll shut up now.) I can see on a comic where it is drawn. ("Oh this is an italian comic, you can see it here and here..." "This is a finnish comic, you can see it on this detail..." "This duck-character was invented in Denmark...") I am a nerd on many things, but I am mostly a nerd on the ducks of Disney. And my hero among them, then one I love the most... Is Uncle Scrooge McDuck. This must be dealt with. I must have a tattoo of Scrooge McDuck.

Now. Problem. My other tattoo's are only done in black. Not a problem. You can of course do a black and white McDuck, with shading. But the big problem is that all my other tattoo's are very fantasy/tribal based. Disney-characters are not. But I want him there! As a symbol for my long love of the dear ducks! All my tattoo's are symbols for something in my life. This one would represent my long love of Disney, all the dear ducks... and my child-hood.

I must solve this somehow...

The tattoo-itch has returned.

Damn. This will be expensive.

Well, I'm not one for tattoo's, but I appreciatte the art form much. Have you tried to search through deviantArt for idead? A quick search turned this out:

It's not ElfQuest-ish, but it gives a less cartoony spin to the great Scrooge McDuck.

You can also find an artist who's style you like and see if they'll commision a drawing of him.

And you're welcome!

Yeah, I have been thinking about that, and might do so. :-) If only I could get Don Rosa to do one... *sigh* But that is a dream, and an impossible one at that. :-) I'll just surf around until I find an artist I like, and then we'll see what happens. :-)

It is gonna hurt like all hell since I need to touch up and redo parts of my oldest one (the wolf) to. It is more then ten years old, and when it was new I didn't care for it properly. *shrug* Young and stupid. So thats gonna cost. And then I wanna do that Scrooge one to. It WILL be expensive.... :-P

I remember that the wolf was rather faded last time I saw it, and that must have been a couple of years ago, so I really understand you'd like to re-invent it. And McScrooge... yes, you are a true Disney fan, so it was only a matter of time. ^_^

Lets just say it hasn't improved. :-P Tattoo's never really do. Well, I was a bit careful with making a Disney-tattoo. I mean, it is more mom's thing. But she has a thing for the Mouse. I have a thing for the Duck, so I guess it works out nicely. :-)

Have you considered maybe having Scrooge looking up at one of your other tatts?

Yeah, that would work. I just need to find a really, REALLY good artist to do it. :-P Most tattoo-artists are great artists with or without a needle, so hopefully one of them can help out. :-D Or I'll just surf around the net, finding a good artist who'll be willing to draw him for me, with compensation of course. ;-)
