This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

Today is the every clever always wonderful [livejournal.com profile] chigrimas birthday! *cheer* I got her an extra brain in a jar, because really... You can never have to many. Hoping to see you on my kidnapping, if you can make it! Might have some gift or another for you there to. ;-D Lets make a trade!

Also. Shopping. HOLY SHIT! I have spent some money this month. I'll live on dry bread and water from now on, I swear. Geez... *shakes head*

First. The buttons on my mobile-phone has been acting weirdly for a year or so now.... And the other week, a few just gave up. Made things a wee bit complicated, didn't it? :-P I have had my eyes on a mobile that I wanted to buy for some time, and now as good a time as any. Off I went to the OnOff store. Man there saying, oh that is great phone! We only have one left and won't get any more of it since it is not one of the newest models.... o.O I bought it on the spot. It was expensive, but I love it. I really, really do. It is a little music-machine, you can take pictures with it. Got Blue Tooth and everything. *pats phone* Me am very happy. :-) Shiny new MOTOKRZR-phone!

Second. I have been highly annoyed with the small plastic shelfs we have in our bathroom for a looong time, and we have been talking about getting new once for some time to. Being as busy as we have been this summer, no time to go to IKEA (yes, we love that place!). This weekend we had time though, and brought MrP's mother along the way (she is a veeery cool lady, so it was all fun). After much discussion and much measuring we found what we needed. One high bathroom cabinet and also one low bathroom cabinet. Can't see it that well on those pictures, but the doors on the cabinets are really gorgeous in frosted glass. *sigh* Me love.

Although now I don't have that much money left of my wages! All that stuff sure cut a hole in my economy! (Wait, aren't you supposed to be the blame for those economical holes, Chigrima? :-D ) But it was needed stuff, and in a way it feels good to finally buy the stuff we have talked about for so long. :-)

Boring hours at work this week, 9am until 6.30pm. :-( Got thursday and friday off, though. Yay! But then I have to work for 7 days straight, all evenings ending at 10pm. Not so fun. *sigh* A well. Time for bed. Work in the morning. :-)

Before you go, though. Meet my pet-bat Gabrielle. Ain't she cute? Go on. Feed her a fly! *snicker*

XDXD Thank you!

Those cabinets looks great. Really matches your bathroom, too. And of course it's all my fault! Actually I come home to you at night and eat the money straight out of your wallets. All we unemployed people do that. u.u

GAH! *sees twenty disspaer down Chi's big gape* *pout* Meh. Eating my money. You could at least get here and eat my food instead. :-P I bet living on that island is turning you into a medieval pirate. :-P

And yes indeed. Barbossa rocks. Especially since he can get totally ruthless and the next pat his monkey saying to said monkey how he is daddy's good boy... X-D I think I am stuck in this pirate-state-o'-mind for a bit I am afraid. :-P

Yep, indeed you do. :-P Either that, or I'll have to go to said island to shake some sense in ye'! :-D

Well, PotC 3 is not coming out until in november, so there seems to be some waiting to be done. :-P Good luck for me that I am sooo patient! *doesn't have a pirated pirate on HD at all... Oh no.... blushes*

Hehehe... But I'd soon it'd be out sooner. :-( Oh well, I did see it a few times on the cinema, after all. ;-)

Speaking of movies, now I have seen Shrek 3. A disappointment, sadly.

Awww... No fun, eh? And I have seen picks of the donkey-dragon-kids... They were soooo cute! :-D I just wanna see the movie for them, to be honest. I did miss the dragon-mama in the second-movie. She was cool. :-D

It is sad to say, but it had become one of those lame suitable-for-all-the-family movies it used to make fun of. I won't say it didn't have it's moments, and the graphics are superb, but... meh. Boring, tame and predictable. Sadly.

Ikea! I was at Ikea this weekend too! At the one near me, they fill the display bookshelves with books, all kinds of books, hundreds, maybe thousands of books, traditional fiction, sci-fi, non-fic, kids books...but all in Swedish. Every one.

Bear in mind that my Ikea is in New Jersey.

Probably the biggest Swedish book collection in the state.

My mom and I tried to buy the books about Lillebror och Storasyster, but they wouldn't sell them to us. Boo.

Well if you want swedish books, they are easy to come by if you ask nicely. ;-) I highyly recommend any book really written by Astrid Lindgren. She writes books for young adults/kids, so the language is not to difficult for someone that swedish is not a first language. She wrote fantasy and well... stories about how growing up in Sweden could be like during the 1920s and 1930's. They are really, really good. :-) My favorite being Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia the Robbers daughter). It is translated to if you would want to check it out. :-) Sadly the author died not that long ago. She was the one that wrote about Pippi Longstocking. :-) Everyone knows about those books....

Of course I know Pippi! :-)

But I didn't know about the others. Children's books are perfect for learning a new language - children are learning too.

I'll have to check them out. There seems to be no Swedish Amazon.com...must keep googling. Thanks for the recommendation! :-)

Everybody knows Pippi! She is an internatinall heroine! *snicker* One of the most translated books in the world. :-) No swedish Amazon, no. If you understand a little swedish though, I can recommend the swedish book-site Bokus: http://www.bokus.com/. They are good and not to expensive, me thinks. They have lots of Astrid Lindgren books: http://www.bokus.com/cgi-bin/book_search.cgi?rewrite=no&FAST=Astrid+Lindgren&FAST_VALUE=AUTHOR&FAST_FUZZY=AUTHOR
Also, here you can buy Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia the robbers daughter): http://www.bokus.com/b/9789129657517.html?pt=search_result

Sorry about the long links, I am at work and can't code them correctly at the moment. :-) Of course, on Bokus, you gotta pay in swedish crowns, or with a credit-card. :-)

The neet thing about wages is that you get money again just in time to pay the bills... :-)

Nah serously, you got to shop sometimes or what else are you saving money for...

I am currently looking for a nice sofa for my new appartment... IKEA yes, but they just have ugly colors on the sofa I want...

(no subject)

Date: 2007-09-13 07:58 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com
That is, indeed, the neet thing. ;-D I have been brought up that one should never ever waste money and always always save. It is in my backbone really. So I always feel guilty when shooping. Silly, eh? :-P

Well. When we walked around IKEA when we were there, we sure saw ALOT of sofa's. It is quite insane really how much stuff they have...

Saving is good. It got me though unemployment... But why have a lot of money on the bank if you never allow yourself to buy stuff... A buffert is always good to have thou...

But why do they only have sofa's in ugly colors?

Good question. Although I saw quite a few sofas that I liked. I guess that is the next project of overs. A new sofa. And new wallpapers... Damn cats. :-D They are eating up our wallpapers, I kid you not. :-P

I'm broke right now too! This art show is costing me a fortune.

I too love IKEA. I can't wait until I can have my own place so I can buy some cute stuff.

I love your bat. He's so cute. I might have to get one.

I bet the artshow will be a success though. :-) It is bound to be with you in the lead. Remember to post pics! :-D

IKEA rocks. And is probably the first thing people think off when I say/write that I am from Sweden... Sad, really. :-D

Bats rocks. End of story. And it is a girl. X-D
