This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] spicehobbit! Get here and check this out! [livejournal.com profile] pktaxwench has finished off her Bootstrap Bill costume! And holy hell does it look amazing! Go there and DROOL! I say, it is definitly worthy of it! It is a hell of a lot of work she has put on it. And it isn't one hundred procent finished either! As she has said, this was just a test-run... If this is a test-run, I wanna see the "real" run!
Bootstrap Bill here!
Bootstrap Bill and a bit more friends here!

Talking of Pirates and the two Turners... This story really broke my heart when I stumbled upon it not that long ago, looking for Bootstrap stories... Why was it that the Dutchman was so determained to get Will as her Captian? Really? It is a bit creepy, but very very good.... I do recommend it!

More cursed Pirates! And this time it deals with a theme I do recognize from my years as a vampire-LARPer... The problem with living forever... And it is a very good take on it to.
The Distress by [livejournal.com profile] thesandpiper

I don't only watch things from Pirates, though. Oh no. There are other fandoms in the world. ;-) This wonderful icon-maker has done some seiously kick-ass icons from a lot of different fandoms. I do recommend you go check them out! Don't forget to credit her though, if you snagg one!
62 icons from alot of different fandoms!

[livejournal.com profile] lil_fatty who is a comic-fan of epic propotions posted this vid from YouTube the other day. It is a trailer for the cartoon movie Batman: Gotham Knight. Batman anime-style! This... this is good.
Batman Anime-style!

Talking of good cartoons... [livejournal.com profile] astroflammante posted a link to this absolutly gorgeous short that made me laugh out load! So good! And a perfect ending to! Just as pretty as movies made by Pixar!
A Gentlemen's Duel

And lastley... Some real silliness... You can not get more silly then this. These icons are NOT SAFE FOR WORK!!!! Just saying. And the Peek-A-Boo one is my favorite. *smirk*

You know. YouTube is, at times, a gold-mine. Seriously. I don't know why, but I got it into my head to see if there were any Tex Avery cartoons on YouTube. And it was. Good lord. I found a gold-mine. If you ever feel like watching cartoons, you should watch the old once from the 30's, 40's and 50's. The golden age of cartoons (and comics). And sure, Disney was on a roll then, but seriously... Tex Avery rules them all. I'll just share a few of my favorites here for you all. I highly suggest you check this gold mine of cartoon-history out, even if you never enjoyed cartoon's even! These... you'll enjoy. I garentee it. :-)

This is my favorite, Red Hot Riding Hood. You think writers are making fun of old stories now? Check this out...

He also took his own take on another story... Swing Shift Cinderella...

Or he simply took some superstition and made fun of that. As in this cartoon. Bad Luck Blackie.

Tex Avery was also the inventor of the character Droopy. I found two of my favorite old Droopy-cartoons on YouTube as well (that I couldn't embeed, so you gotta follow links for those... Oh woe...)
Droopy Dumb-Hounded is a classical Droopy-story where he constalty does the impossible. :-)
And...
The Shooting of Dan McGoo where Avery is taking on a classical story from Canada with the help off Droopy and crew.

Don't know who Tex Avery was? Well. Can't have that now can we? ;-) You can read about him RIGHT HERE. I think that covers most. And if you want a list of all the cartoons he has done (so you can search for them on YouTube perhaps...) there is a list there as well.

Enjoy! :-D
