Swedish healthcare is not perfect, by any means. The Moderate Party was leading the swedish governemnt for years, and they wanted a more US model healthcare. Gladly they didn't destroy all of it. But there are a lot more private practices than it used to be. :-P And the waiting hours or waiting months, if that's the case, can be really long.
Still, it works fairly well, and I'm insanely grateful for it.
I've learned, from experience, that in the ER you have to wait for HOURS! They always prioritze those that are more seriously ill or hurt. So if you're just waiting to talk to a doc, you can wait a full day. Which I did once when I was home on sickleave and had to check up my healing leg after breaking it. I came there in the early day, pre-lunch. I left at 6pm. No food only drinks that entire time. And just waiting. I was in tears when I finally could get a special cab to bring me home and up the stairs. :-P
