National Day of Sweden today! :-D YAY Sweden! YAY Swedens royal family! YAY swedishness! *lol* :-D
The reason we celebrate today off all days is to honor the fact that Gustav Vasa was elected king of Sweden on this day 1523, and since he is considered the king who started the era of modernization of Sweden, well.... Hence. :-) (He pretty much worked as Henry VIII... apart from chopping of his wife's heads... X-D )
I might not be as patriotic as some, but damn... this country is pretty awesome, I gotta say! :-D
Have the national anthem! With english translation! :-D
No big celebration here, no... Well. We invited my mother in law to come over for dinner. :-) Since Nerd Jr's room is pretty much done, she wanted to see what it looked like, so we figured it was a perfect reason to combine.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
peting73 loves to figure out big serious three course dinners, so we did that... and just hung out and talked while she was here. :-) Was really wonderful!
