i can't even tell you how good it feels to get into a legitimately good fantasy series. my latest 'fandom' was the hunger games, sort of enjoyed the books and the movie was eh, but this is just so. much. better. this is REAL fantasy; haven't seen anything this good since his dark materials. i hedged about reading/watching it for a long time because everybody dies, but you know what.. i think that's okay. the storyline is just so good!! and it's GOOD FANTASY. that is SO hard to come by.. it's easy to write shitty fantasy, but not everyone can do THIS.
