Ouch, poor kitty! D: Glad to hear she's on her way to getting better. They are really pretty, both of them!
One of the front paws of my Duchess swelled up one morning a couple of months back, and I was as baffled as you, due to her being an indoor cat too. She didn't seem to be in any pain (didn't say a word when I was poking around the swollen paw), but she was limping, so I took her to vet where they put her on a similar medicine for a week. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with her and guessed she must have sprained her ankle or something. ...But it does seem odd she wasn't hissing, hearing your story. Whatever it was, it was pretty much gone the next day though, so it couldn't have been anything serious.
But still, as you say, you don't expect stuff like that to happen to an indoor cat! @.@
