The Hunger Games...

Yep. Now I've watched it. :-) With spicehobbit, of course. When I go to the movies, I usually go with my best friend.

And... Yeah. It was good. It's not all "OMG, it's the greatest movie I've ever seen!!!", because it is not. But it was really damn good. :-) It made a lot of good points, and it had all that creepy feel under a very polished exterior. I love that. Not to mention all the social criticism thrown in there...

What was funny was the whole beginning of the movie, with Katniss and family in District 12... the whole look on their life there was... eerily familiar. Because... it was JUST like the Fallout LARP I always go to and is a part of every summer... So that was very interesting. :-)

I also liked that it was a smart movie. Unlike other movies I can mention *cough*twilight*cough* it doesn't dumb down the teens it is aiming for. And that rocked. Also, a girl kicking ass and saving the boy? THAT rocked to, thank you very much.

And another thing that I liked about it was the very eerie uncomfortable feeling through the whole thing. These kids are doomed, more or less. And during the game? There is no glamor, no cool hero-shots... These are kids... killing kids. To survive themselves.

So yeah, I liked it. It was really good. One of the better movies I've seen, even though it didn't climb up to the top 5. ;-)
