Had a brilliant time in Gothenburg yesterday and today! :-D
We left early in the morning yesterday, me and
peting73 so we could walk around in Gothenburg a little, just because it is nice, before it was time for the champange testing thing. :-)
peting73 hasn't been in Gothenburg for pure shopping/leaisure in years, so we just walked around and enjoyed our selfs. To get rid our small bags, we went to the hotel early just to get rid of them right away. We figured they'd have a bagge room or something. But no. We got our room right away! Awesome! So we checked the room out (beautiful) before continuing our exploration. Lets just say, if your a geek or nerd... or you like corsets, gothstuff and what not... then Gothenburg is a good city to be. ;-) We visited Grothica, Shock, Sci-Fi Bookstore (where we promptly bought next years World of Warcraft wall calender, a couple of rpg-dices and a very geeky game: Monthy Python Fluxx ), then just for giggles and fun, we went over to Kondomeriet (where the staff is MADE OF WIN! (women, I might add...) and we discussed sextoys, laughed at idiotic pornmovies and had a general good time...).
Then it was time for the champagne testing/try out or whatever you wanna call it. We were there in good time, and what do you know.... We ran into an old friend. :-D Anyone who has been active in the Student Union should know about her: Pale Evil. World sure is a small place. X-D We grinned, hugged and checked with each other what we've been up to, before the whole thing started. (She is fine, and looks just the same if anyone wanted to know. ;-) ) The lady that was talking about the three champagnes and one kava that we got to try was a really nice woman who knew what she talked about, and could spread the love to. Only complaint I had on the whole thing was that we only got to try dry champagne, not semi-dry, sweet or semi-sweet. I would have loved that. Oh well. :-) I guess I'll have to try and find a tiny bottle myself. (No way I can afford a big one!) Kava, btw, is sparkling wine done in the same way as champagne but in Spain and with other grapes. :-) If it is made in Germany it is called Sect. The only sparkling wine that can be called champagne is made in the small area Champagne in France.
So, after that really excellent experience we called up our friends Ugglefot and her hubby J for a double-date as it were. We really, really like those two but don't get a chance to hang out as much as we'd like. So, since we were to spend the night in Gothenburg anyway... :-) We started out with coffee and cake at a wonderful café that Ugglefot knew about (and that I forgot the name of... Vanilla something or another...). While the others had coffee with there cake, I had Coke. ;-) Don't like coffee or tea. :-P We spent an hour or so there just talking and talking... Then me and
peting73 got hungry, but we still wanted to hang out with Ugglefot and J, so we went to the very nice pub just downstairs at the hotel, The Bishop Arms. We got a club sandwich there that was... a huge meal, more or less... o.O J teased me since I barely managed to finish the thing off. X-D The rest of the night was spent there drinking beer and cider and discussing.... everything and telling insane stories and... what have you! It was BRILLIANT! We didn't even notice the clock ticking... until it was 11pm. o.O So off we went to our cosy hotel-room and Ugglefot and J returned home. We might have invited them here for New Years at some point... We'll see. :-D And to use our extra-bed at LARP-weekends. :-D *crosses fingers for that one*
The room at the hotel was WONDERFUL! So was the bed, so we slept like babies the whole night away. :-D Since there was a late checkout today, we didn't put the alarm on, and slept until 10:30am today... Bliss! And then breakfast... And OMG breakfast! o.O Shit, I was so full after that huge breakfast I almost felt sick. So much good stuff, and you could eat as much as you wanted! Then back to the room and get our stuff and down stairs to check out. And what do you know... At the reception an old workmate of mine stood, surprised to see me! X-D World is definitly a small place! *laugh* So we chatted a bit before we left. Then off to the train and buss station, were we got a buss and went home!
You can easily say I had a BRILLIANT TIME! :-D And before I stop, a word about the hotel we stayed at, Elite Plaza Hotel. The staff was WONDERFUL! So great and friendly... even the cleaning ladies! The building itself is an old historic building from 1889, and my gawd... it was gorgeous... The room was in the same style to. Perfect mix of old and new. I loved it. And the breakfast was to die for. The Bishop Arms just downstairs (you could go there by elevator, if you wanted...), a luxurious restaurant in the hotel itself (we are so going there one day...) and a wonderful bar as well. And it was located really close to the city center as well! If you ever, EVER, go to Gothenburg, Sweden to stay for a couple of nights, I highly recommend this hotel! So nice!

Day 28- A picture where all four of them look really good
I adore this photo. It would have been perfect, had Gustav had his natural hair, but I guess you can't have everything. :-)

(Click for BIG!)
Day 29- Favorite song from Humanoid (audio or video)
I actually have two, but it was a hard choice. I like all of them songs.
